About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager for a critical pillar of our Program Management function: Commercial Operations. This role will transform our commercial infrastructure into a revenue accelerator, building and executing the operational leverage that enables Anthropic to maintain velocity as we scale. You'll be responsible for managing and enhancing processes that support rapid product growth. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational excellence, someone who can both envision where we need to be in 12 months and build the infrastructure to get us there.
Responsibilities
Play a central role on the team that runs Anthropic's programs for Commercial Launches — helping evolve an established launch motion into a scalable, well-instrumented program that keeps pace with an accelerating product roadmap
Run launches end-to-end through the Commercial launch process: lead intake and scoping for your portfolio of launches, translate each into its commercial-readiness requirements (pricing, billing, tax, marketplace, compliance and selling motions), and collaborate with product teams to develop paths to launch
Identify where launches slow down today and drive resolution to prevent them from recurring: propose and implement process and system changes, clarify ownership, drive completion across partner teams like, Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and GTM.
Build specific program components that don't exist yet — launch tiering, readiness criteria, playbooks, templates, SLAs; and develop training that shifts programs from late-stage gatekeeper to early-stage partner
Take ownership of major program-improvement workstreams such as instrumentation (pipeline visibility, readiness scorecards, guides, throughput and cycle-time metrics) or workflow tooling and automation (intake, tracking, approvals, status) in partnership with Engineering and systems teams
Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, and GTM teams to design clear interfaces and processes that span multiple teams
You may be a good fit if you have
Experience building and running new product introduction processes
Experience building capabilities and solutions that enable launching in new ways, from pricing to geographies
10+ years of experience in operations, with demonstrated success in billing, payments, or commercial operations (high-volume SaaS experience a plus)
Strong working knowledge of billing systems, subscription management, and payments platforms
Proven track record of building and scaling operational programs in high-growth environments — taking things from 0-1 and then scaling beyond
Willing to roll up your sleeves and do the operational work of building while also leading a team
Experience with automation initiatives and partnering with engineering teams to build operational tooling
Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to demonstrate ROI on operational programs
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across GTM, Finance, Product, and Engineering
Adaptability and comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you need to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
Excitement about building the operational backbone that enables Anthropic to stay on the exponential
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$190,000

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

THE ADVENTURE AHEAD
This is a partner marketing role built for pipeline. You'll turn a small number of high-potential partnerships (think AWS, Deloitte, and Carahsoft) into real, measurable revenue channels. You'll also be our enterprise marketing lead for regulated industries, specifically life sciences and government, where trust, compliance, and the right partner relationships decide who wins.
The objective is clear, but the playbook is yours to define. Some weeks you'll build an account plan with an AWS demand gen partner. Other weeks you'll plan a field event for healthcare or federal buyers, or work with sales on a named account list. The goal is to leverage partner channels to generate Enterprise, public sector and life sciences pipeline.
🗓️ THE DAY-TO-DAY
Partner Marketing That Generates Pipeline (the core of the job)
- Run joint programs with a small number of select partners (AWS, Deloitte, Carahsoft, and others as we prove what works) that move Enterprise and Gov pipeline.
- Make AWS work harder. Partner with our AWS demand gen resource by supplying what's been missing: target account selection, strong assets, account intelligence, seller engagement, tracking, and a packaged pitch AWS sellers can use.
- Use partner relationships to open doors at named ABM accounts, through formal partner workflows and one-off introductions, and build a repeatable process around both.
- Work closely with the Partnerships team on joint planning, co-funded activity, and accountability on timelines and lead commitments.
- Own partner-sourced and partner-influenced attribution with RevOps so we know what's working and where to invest.
Field Events
- Plan and run field events that put us in front of enterprise buyers, including Supper Clubs and partner co-hosted dinners, roundtables, and executive gatherings.
- Work with partners to co-fund and co-host events, with registrant targets and clear roles agreed up front.
- Partner with AEs, BDRs, and partner managers before and after every event so meetings, follow-up, and pipeline actually happen.
- Support our presence at industry events (for example, HR Tech, Unleash, DevLearn, and GovLoop) and turn them into pipeline.
Regulated Industries: Healthcare and Government
- Own the enterprise marketing approach for healthcare and public-sector buyers, where long cycles, compliance requirements, and buying committees shape everything.
- Build account-based programs for healthcare systems and government agencies using intent data and buying signals.
- Support federal campaigns alongside product marketing and the gov sales team: content syndication, event execution, targeted account lists, and partner-led plays (such as Carahsoft).
- Develop messaging and programs that speak to the real concerns of regulated buyers, like security, compliance, procurement paths, and contract vehicles.
Account-Based Execution and Sales Partnership
- Build account-based programs that reach full buying committees, including expansion into new teams inside existing accounts.
- Partner with enterprise AMs, AEs, and BDRs through structured cadences on targeting, messaging, and pipeline reviews.
Measurement & Iteration
- Use AI to scale what works.
- Measure everything: pipeline created, influenced, and accelerated, with clear attribution across new business, expansion, and partner-sourced.
- If something isn't working, whether a channel, an event, or a partner, you say so and change course. No sunk-cost loyalty.
💪 YOUR SUPERPOWERS
- Pipeline-obsessed marketer: 4–6 years of B2B SaaS marketing experience, with at least 1–2 years targeting enterprise buyers (5,000+ employees). You've driven measurable pipeline and revenue, not just lead volume.
- Partner builder: You've made partnerships produce pipeline, not just co-branded content. You know how to get a partner's sellers to care about your accounts.
- Field event operator: You've planned and executed events that turned into meetings and opportunities, and you know how to get sales and partners in the room.
- Buying-committee thinker: You're fluent in intent data, buying signals, and account engagement, and you use them to decide where to focus.
- Sales trust-builder: You win as a team with sales, through in-the-weeds collaboration and shared accountability.
- Ruthless about scope: You orient around what gets results and can stay focused on a few partners and programs without losing sight of the goal.
- "I can figure this out" mindset toward tools: UserGems, Influ2, ReachDesk, HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Claude. Bonus points if you've used some, but curiosity matters more than a checklist.
- Active AI practitioner: You're already applying AI anywhere and everywhere.
🎁 BONUS POINTS
- Experience marketing to healthcare, government, or other regulated or public-sector buyers.
- Experience with hyperscalers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), co-sell, or global systems-integrator partnerships (Deloitte-style) where you made the relationship produce pipeline.
- Experience with government channel partners or reseller/contract vehicle models (Carahsoft-style).
- Familiarity with compliance and procurement considerations in healthcare or federal sales.
- Experience in learning, HR tech, or skills-focused technology.

About the role
Frontier AI is on track to be among the most consequential and most adversarially-targeted technology in the world. The capability curve is steep, the adversaries who want these systems are extremely well-resourced, and the security bar this will eventually require is well beyond where the industry operates today. Incremental hardening alone is not going to close that gap, so we need breakthroughs and a group of people to go find them.
Security Labs is that team. We run a portfolio of high-risk, high-expected-value security projects: the work that seems impractical until someone optimistic and stubborn enough actually tries it. Projects run on the order of weeks rather than quarters, and each one is either handed off to the Anthropic team that will own it in production or wound down with a writeup of what we learned. We expect a meaningful fraction of our bets not to land.
This team is intentionally scrappy and ambitious. We're intentionally iterating fast on high-risk research bets and we expect a meaningful fraction not to land. If a 30% project success rate sounds uncomfortable, or uncharted and chaotic territory isn’t both frightening and exciting, this probably isn't the right fit. There are other places in Anthropic Security doing important work with more structure, less risk, and more certain paths to positive outcomes.
The questions we're trying to answer include:
Can our core research workflows survive extreme isolation?
Can we replace trust with cryptographic guarantees?
Can the models themselves become our most effective security control?
What would it actually take to defend against a tier-1 state adversary, and how much of that can we build now?
Who we're looking for.
We're hiring generalists with rare depth. You're a strong software engineer as a baseline, and on top of that you've gone deep in at least one area most engineers don't get near: firmware or hardware security, applied cryptography, OS / kernel / hypervisor internals, formal methods, reverse engineering, or high-assurance and cross-domain systems. You've built things under your own direction, you're comfortable jumping layers when the problem demands it, and you'd rather take a swing at something that might not work than ship the safe incremental thing. You think the trajectory of AI matters a great deal, you're not comfortable with how the security side of it is going by default, and you'd rather be on the inside building the answer than watching from outside.
Current Project Areas
The portfolio changes as we learn. The kinds of bets currently in flight or queued:
Standing up a prototype high-assurance research cluster: running real Anthropic training and research workloads under extreme isolation and physical security controls, and finding out exactly where productivity breaks and what we'd need to invent to get it back
Provable inference: cryptographic verification (zero-knowledge proofs, attestation chains) that a given output came from a specific model running specific code, replacing "trust us" with math
Build hypervisor-isolated microVM workload isolation across the fleet
Compiling an ML kernel through a formally verified pipeline where every lowering step carries a machine-checked proof of equivalence, making compilation-layer sabotage mathematically detectable
Regenerating clusters: automation that spins up a purpose-built cell, runs a workload, and tears the whole thing down on a TTL measured in hours, so attacker persistence has an expiry date
Using Claude itself to drive security work end to end: threat modeling new compute platforms, rewriting critical services to zero external dependencies, running the test equipment that validates what hardware datasheets claim
Part of your job is deciding what comes next. We hire people we trust to pick good bets, and project selection is owned by the engineers doing the work.
Key responsibilities
Own Security Labs projects end to end. You'll scope the bet, build the prototype, run it against real workloads, and bring it to either a hand-off or a documented exit
Stand up novel security infrastructure fast (isolated clusters, attestation chains, hypervisor and runtime work, verification tooling) optimizing for what we learn rather than for permanence
Find the receiving team early, bring them along while you build, and hand them something they actually want to own
Work embedded with research and infrastructure teams (Pretraining, RL, Inference, Compute) to test whether their workflows survive what you're proposing, and document precisely where they don't
Turn experimental results into short writeups that shape Anthropic's long-term security architecture, and into costed contingency plans we could execute on short notice
Help pick the next round of bets and influence the industry to get better along the way
Minimum qualifications
Genuinely care about where AI is heading and want to work on the security problems that determine whether it goes well. This is the most important thing on this list
Have real depth in at least one area most software engineers don't touch (e.g. firmware or hardware security, applied cryptography, OS / kernel / hypervisor internals, formal methods and verification, reverse engineering and exploit development, or high-assurance / cross-domain systems)
Have built and shipped things under your own direction. Maybe you founded a company or research group, maintained an open-source project other people depend on, or shipped research that changed how people in your field work. We weight this far more than where you've worked or for how long
Have a track record of choosing the problem yourself and seeing it through, rather than only executing a plan someone else handed you
Are comfortable jumping between domains and layers of the stack when the problem calls for it, and have actually done so
Have run prototypes or experiments where the goal was answering a hard question rather than shipping a permanent system, including ones that didn't pan out
Write clearly enough to turn weeks of work into a couple of pages someone can act on
Change your mind when the evidence says to, and are fine being the least-expert person in a room full of specialists
Care about defense. Plenty of folks here come from offense and that background is valuable, but what you actually want to spend your time on now is making systems hold up
Are a strong programmer (Python plus at least one of Rust, Go, or C/C++) and can stand up real infrastructure without that being the interesting part of your week
Preferred qualifications
Experience inside airgapped or high-side environments (classified networks, cross-domain solutions, ICS/SCADA, financial trading infrastructure) and the operational realities of working in them
A background in offensive security, red teaming, or vulnerability research, with calibrated intuitions for which threats actually matter
Familiarity with ML infrastructure (training pipelines, distributed schedulers, inference serving, accelerator hardware) sufficient for grounded conversations with researchers about what their workloads actually need
A history of working in environments built around rapid iteration rather than rigid change control: startups, applied research groups, independent consulting, small security shops

- You will engage deeply with developers building AI agents, coding environments, CI and testing systems, and other workloads that require secure, isolated execution, finding solutions for today while optimizing for tomorrow's vision.
- You enjoy building infrastructure products that are easy to adopt and use. You will turn complex tradeoffs across isolation, startup time, performance, density, networking, storage, and cost into simple product experiences.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and will guide product definition, feature prioritization, and scope in concert with engineering, design, security, operations, and go-to-market teams.
- You are a fan of iterative development, working with customers and cross-functional teams to hypothesize, measure adoption and impact, learn from releases, and continually improve the roadmap.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You have deep empathy for the needs of developers and are obsessed with talking to your users.
- You have prior professional experience as a software engineer, ideally in systems, infrastructure, platform engineering, developer tools, or cloud.
- You have strong technical familiarity with sandboxes/microVMs, containers, virtualization technologies, and hypervisors, including the isolation and security boundaries each provides.
- You understand the building blocks of modern developer infrastructure, including Linux, container runtimes, orchestration, networking, storage, APIs, and cloud services.
- You have experience designing, building, or operating systems that execute customer-provided, untrusted, or agent-generated code at scale.
- You are comfortable interacting with a command-line interface and discussing APIs, SDKs, and technical architecture with engineers and developers.
- You have experience building B2B or SaaS products, or a background in public cloud and developer infrastructure.
- You understand software supply chain and software security concerns, including multi-tenant isolation, identity, secrets management, observability, and reliability.
- You can break down complex technical problems into small, releasable, user-valuable features.
- You can explain complex ideas simply and communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and visually across diverse stakeholders.
- You can analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions, define success metrics, and prioritize investments.
- You have a collaborative approach, experience running products from greenfield to scale, and the ability to work with fast-moving, distributed, cross-functional teams. You are a doer as well as a strategist; we are small and need all hands on deck.

About the team
Anthropic's Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team is the connective tissue that holds the company accountable to its security commitments. We translate regulatory, customer, and voluntary obligations into controls that teams act on, and give leadership a bird's-eye view of how well we're meeting them. We're building toward a fundamentally different kind of GRC: one that directs Claude, with the right humans in the loop, to challenge and evidence the performance of controls continuously rather than through periodic audits.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the security policy partner for AI agent governance, authoring the policies and standards for how agents are built, deployed, operated
Define review and approval criteria when an agent may interact with sensitive or regulated data, and which actions require human approval as it relates to compliance frameworks
Serve as the GRC reviewer within existing engineering approval workflows
Define data governance requirements for agents, including least-privilege access, access reviews, and handling of regulated and sensitive data
Monitor agent behavior over time and adapt governance requirements in partnership with cross-functional security, research and engineering teams
Map agent security and data controls to AI governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 42001, EU AI Act), strengthening Anthropic's certification efforts ensuring agent security is auditable
Assess and document agent-related security and compliance risks, driving them to resolution with engineering owners
Own the policy for agent-related risk acceptances and exceptions, including approval authority, duration and re-review
You may be a good fit if you:
Have 8+ years in security governance, risk, and compliance, including ownership of security policies and control standards at a technology company
Have owned or meaningfully supported efforts to compartmentalize sensitive data, PII, or intellectual property, and understand how identity and access mechanisms implement or undermine protection boundaries
Think about non-human identities as a distinct risk and control category, and can design least-privilege access and accountability controls for systems acting on a person's behalf
Can reason from a threat model to a control and explain the tradeoff to both an engineer and an auditor
Have defined risk-based review or approval criteria within engineering workflows and kept them effective under high change velocity
Deliver clear, precise written work for both technical and non-technical audiences
Thrive in ambiguous environments with no settled industry playbook, where you're expected to propose the standard rather than wait for one
Are energized by being the security and risk authority who educates and influences outcomes rather than only advises
Strong candidates may also:
Understand the security properties of LLM agents, whether from an AI, developer-platform, or agent-tooling company, or through comparable experience
Bring familiarity with AI governance frameworks alongside traditional security frameworks
Have adapted controls from regulated or highly sensitive environments to an open, high-trust engineering culture
Possess relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CCSP, ISO 27001 or ISO 42001 Lead Implementer/Auditor)
Candidates need not have:
Done everything on this list before. Very few people have governed AI agents at scale — we care more about how you reason about access, accountability, and blast radius than about a prior title.
Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$255,000

Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

Detection & Continuous Improvement
- Turn incident findings into new or improved detections, logging coverage, and visibility.
- Lead blameless post-incident reviews and drive remediation items to completion.
- Run tabletop exercises and simulations to test readiness and find gaps.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience leading or serving as technical lead on security incidents in a cloud or SaaS environment.
- Strong hands-on investigation skills with SIEM, cloud audit logs, and log-based analysis. Comfortable working through large datasets under time pressure.
- Proficiency writing production-quality scripts or tools in Python, Go, or Bash for investigation and automation.
- Solid knowledge of cloud architecture and security, especially Google Cloud Platform (IAM, audit logging, GKE, networking).

- Familiarity with detection-as-code practices and writing detection rules.
- Experience in fast-paced, cloud-native, or AI/ML-driven environments.
- Relevant certifications (such as GCIH, GCFA, GCFR), or equivalent hands-on experience.
WHAT WE VALUE
- Curiosity & initiative: Strong desire to understand attacker behaviors, emerging threats, and how they apply to real-world systems.
- Speed & analytical rigor: Ability to quickly assess high-risk vulnerabilities with clear, evidence-based reasoning.
- Collaboration: Comfort working across cross-functional teams spanning Security, SRE, Engineering, and Infrastructure.
- Clear communication: Ability to explain findings, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ownership mindset: Takes initiative to drive investigations, improvements, and remediations to completion.
- Continuous learning: Passion for staying up to date on new vulnerabilities, exploit trends, and cloud-native security best practices.

About the Role
As an AV Engineer focused on Platform & Automation, you'll build and own the software layer of Anthropic's collaboration systems — the tools, integrations, and engineering practices that let a small AV team support a fast-growing global office portfolio. Our rooms, event spaces, and broadcast systems are increasingly managed through APIs and code: device management platforms, DSP and control systems, conferencing administration, ticketing, and paging. Your job is to turn that surface into reliable, team-owned tooling, and to bring software engineering discipline to how we build and maintain it.
You can expect a lot of your time writing, shipping, and operating code — fleet health monitoring, automated room testing and ticketing, integrations between our AV platforms and IT systems, and the internal tools that AV Engineering, AV Operations, and Events rely on every day. You'll also help own the administration of the software platforms we already run, and set the standards for how the team version-controls, reviews, tests, releases, and maintains everything from DSP designs to firmware to internal services.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and ship internal tools and integrations that monitor, test, and manage AV and collaboration systems across every office
Develop fleet health monitoring and automated room testing that catch failures before users report them and open actionable tickets automatically
Build integrations across device and platform APIs — Q-SYS (including plugins and Lua control scripts), Logitech Sync, Google Meet hardware, digital signage; and IT systems such as Jira, Slack, PagerDuty, and Google Workspace
Automate repetitive operational work: provisioning, configuration baselines, drift detection, certificate renewal, and asset data — with code others can read, test, and maintain
Own administration and lifecycle of the software platforms behind the AV estate, including firmware and software release management with staged rollouts and rollback plans
Operate internal tools as production services, with monitoring, alerting, service metrics, and runbooks, on team-owned repositories and service identities so nothing depends on one person
Establish the team's engineering practices: source control, code review, testing, CI/CD, and release — and bring AV configuration under version control, with standards set for integrator deliverables and acceptance verified before changes land
Enable AV Engineers, Operations Specialists, and Production staff to contribute safely through templates, guardrails, and review paths built for non-developers
Partner with Security, IT Engineering, and Network on least-privilege API access, secrets management, and integration with enterprise standards
Gather requirements from AV Operations, Events, and AV Engineering, prioritize the tooling roadmap by operational impact, and decide where to build, buy, or push a vendor to close a gap
You May Be a Good Fit If You:
Have 10+ years of experience across AV, collaboration, or IT systems engineering, including 4+ years writing, shipping, and maintaining production code that other people depend on
Are fluent in at least one general-purpose language: Python, Lua, Go, TypeScript, or similar — and comfortable with shell scripting
Practice engineering fundamentals by default: Git-based workflows, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, logging, and observability
Understand how AV and collaboration systems work: DSP and control, conferencing platforms, room devices, signal flow, AV-over-IP — well enough to build reliable tools on top of them
Have built integrations against REST APIs, webhooks, and vendor SDKs, and know how to handle auth, rate limits, pagination, retries, and partial failure
Have owned a tool or service in production over time, not just written it, including fixing it when it broke and handing it off cleanly
Have defined engineering practices for a team, especially one where most contributors aren't developers
Turn operational pain into well-scoped tooling, and can say no to work that shouldn't be built
Thrive in a fast-moving environment where standards are being written rather than inherited
Strong Candidates May Also Have Experience With:
Q-SYS Lua scripting and plugin development
Logitech Sync and CollabOS, and Google Meet hardware administration through the Google Admin console and Admin SDK
Google Workspace APIs, GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager), and Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code
Jira, Slack, and PagerDuty APIs and automation
Crestron, Extron, or other control system programming
Dante, AES67, NDI, and network fundamentals for AV-over-IP, including multicast, VLANs, and QoS
Building with LLMs — agentic automation, LLM-assisted internal tools, or MCP integrations
Monitoring and alerting stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana, and containerized deployment
Q-SYS Level 2, CTS, or equivalent demonstrated capability
Role Specific Location Policy:
This role will be based in our San Francisco or New York City office
This role is expected to be in office 50% of the time
Up to 4 weeks of domestic and international travel annually for platform rollouts, new-office readiness, and on-site testing

Ability to balance speed, rigor, and competing inputs — pivoting direction, weighing user research, strategy, business insights, and team input in decision-making, and seeking solutions in creative ways
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
2+ years in product design, user centric product management, product development, and/or front end engineering
A familiarity and depth of experience using Figma's products

Fortune and Fortune Media IP Limited are not affiliated with, and do not endorse products or services of GitLab.
An overview of this role
This is an overnight shift role with working hours of 12:00am - 7:00am EST.
As a Support Engineer on our U.S. Government Support Engineering team, you operate at the critical intersection of Support and Engineering, enabling public sector organizations and United States government agencies to run GitLab in some of the most secure and constrained environments in the world. Your work directly supports national security missions, including customers operating within FedRAMP-authorized, air-gapped, and classified or semi-classified environments where traditional troubleshooting approaches are not always possible.
In this role, you will engage deeply with GitLab through the command line; analyzing logs, system behavior, and application performance with strong Linux fundamentals and an understanding of how GitLab’s components interact end-to-end. You may partner with Product and Engineering to reproduce and document edge-case defects using sanitized or redacted data, or contribute directly to the product by opening merge requests that resolve customer-impacting issues. Beyond resolving individual cases, you’ll help strengthen GitLab by improving documentation, support workflows, and institutional knowledge, ensuring that lessons learned in highly regulated environments benefit the broader platform; all while working in a fully remote, highly collaborative environment built on trust, autonomy, and shared ownership.
Some examples of our projects:
A tool to quickly analyze strace output
A solution to capture the state of a customer’s server for easier troubleshooting
A functionality to ChatOps to make it easier to identify user accounts on GitLab.com
What you’ll do
Collaborate closely with public sector customers, including U.S. government agencies, the Department of War, and Intelligence Community organizations, to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in GitLab deployments operating under strict security, compliance, and operational constraints.
Perform deep, hands-on technical investigations using Linux command-line tooling and GitLab internals to analyze logs, system performance, and application behavior, often with limited telemetry or incomplete datasets. You will trace issues across infrastructure, application, and code paths to identify root causes, recommend mitigations, and drive durable fixes; frequently partnering with GitLab Product, Development, and Infrastructure teams to ensure outcomes that meet both mission and platform reliability requirements.
Create and update clear, reusable documentation and support content based on real customer interactions to improve self-service and reduce repeated issues.
Participate in regular
pairing sessions
with other Support Engineers and act as a
stable counterpart
to cross-functional teams to share knowledge and improve support processes.
Contribute to building and refining internal support tools and workflows, including automation and troubleshooting utilities, to make diagnosing and resolving issues more efficient.
Participate in weekday and weekend on-call rotations, providing timely emergency support for self-managed customers operating in restricted and compliance-focused environments.
Support the growth of the team by reviewing applications and assessments, and participating in interviews and hiring decision discussions.
What you’ll bring
Due to government security requirements, you must be a United States Citizen (defined as any individual who is a citizen of the United States by law, birth, or naturalization) to be eligible for this position
Experience managing customer-facing cases across the full support lifecycle, from initial inquiry and triage through reproduction, escalation, and resolution
Strong Linux systems administration knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot performance and configuration issues in complex environments
Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered developer tooling and gateway architectures (for example GitLab Duo, AI gateway configurations, or similar model-serving/proxy layers), including how they're deployed and troubleshot in self-managed or air-gapped environments
Ability to use scripting languages (preferably Ruby or Bash) and work within model-view-controller frameworks (preferably Ruby on Rails) to investigate and resolve issues
Practical experience with Git and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows
Skill in creating and maintaining clear, accurate support content and technical documentation
Ability to explain complex technical topics in a clear, empathetic way to customers and coworkers with varying technical backgrounds
Familiarity with DevOps practices and container-orchestration technologies such as OpenShift and Kubernetes
Understanding of common information security and compliance concepts and controls (for example DISA STIG and SELinux), and eligibility to work on United States federal customer environments as required for this role
About the team
At GitLab Federal, LLC, the U.S. Government Support Engineering team partners with public sector organizations and United States government agencies to support GitLab in highly secure, mission-critical environments. Our work directly enables national security outcomes, supporting customers across the Intelligence Community, Department of War, and other federal, state, and local government entities operating within regulated and restricted boundaries.
We are embedded within Support Engineering and work closely with Product, Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success, and Sales to solve complex, high-impact technical challenges. Our team frequently dives into code, logs, and architectural behavior to understand not just what is failing, but why; especially in environments with sanitized data, limited visibility, and strict compliance controls such as FedRAMP. We collaborate asynchronously across time zones and through structured pairing and discussion to share knowledge, strengthen solutions, and continuously improve how GitLab supports secure, air-gapped, and regulated deployments, while upholding GitLab's standards for rigor, transparency, and technical excellence.

ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.
THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a Legal Operations Lead to join us as the first dedicated legal operations hire at Modal. You’ll own the systems, records, and workflows that let a small legal team keep pace with a high-growth tech company, and you’ll have an opportunity to build most of them from scratch.
This is a great fit for a highly organized, systems-oriented operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to build operational foundations, not just maintain them. You’ll report to our General Counsel and collaborate closely with the Finance, BizOps, GTM, and People teams.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
- Build and maintain contract operations, including designing the contract lifecycle management workflows and approval logic, and continuing to iterate and improve those processes
- Design a legal intake process to support and route legal requests from internal stakeholders
- Make the legal function faster with AI, and build and configure tooling to make us more efficient
- Manage corporate administration and record-keeping, including Board and stockholder matters, signature coordination, and building a knowledge management system and database
- Be the point person for corporate compliance, including entity management, foreign and domestic qualifications and filings, and coordination with registered agents
- Support stock administration and cap table hygiene
- Manage outside counsel and legal spend
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have 5+ years in legal operations, contract operations, or a corporate paralegal role, preferably at a high-growth technology company
- You’ve built and documented processes from the ground up, not just executed existing ones
- You have experience configuring workflows and templates within Ironclad or a similar CLM
- You have experience with AI tools and good instincts about where they help and where they quietly introduce risk
- You have sound judgment about what to handle and what to escalate
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Exposure to corporate and equity administration
- Familiarity with Carta or a similar equity administration platform
We're looking for a manager to own the performance of our Document Processing team and lead the Processing Supervisors who run it day to day. If you think in systems, lead through others, and measure what matters, this role is for you.

You’ll report to our General Counsel and collaborate closely with the Sales, BizOps, Finance, and Engineering teams and help build the foundation for a small but growing legal team.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:

- Build and maintain contract repositories, template libraries, and contract playbooks
- Partner with Legal Operations on our CLM, including approval workflows and escalation logic

YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have approximately 5-10 years of combined law firm and in-house experience negotiating commercial technology agreements, with meaningful time supporting an enterprise sales motion
- You have a JD and active bar membership in good standing in New York or California

What this role is about
You'll manage a team of Assigned Support Engineers who provide relationship-based technical support to GitLab's biggest enterprise customers. ASEs work proactively with customers to find root causes and prevent repeat issues, which is different from working a ticket queue. They also turn their actions and activity into outcomes and deliverables that show customers the ROI they get from GitLab.
You'll build a team that works independently, owns issues from start to finish, and knows when to ask for help. When a customer relationship is in trouble, you'll work alongside the account teams to bring it back to health. You'll also help improve the ASE program in ways that matter to customers and to the company.
What you'll do
Hire, coach, and develop ASEs. Hold regular 1:1s, give direct feedback, deal with performance issues early, and build a team where people feel safe raising problems.
Pay attention to engagement and retention, and coach the team on GitLab's values and operating principles.
Train ASEs to run technical interviews so the hiring pipeline doesn't depend on you.
Set clear goals and expectations, track progress across onboarding, relationships, escalations, and KPIs, and connect the team's work to company priorities. Help ASEs prioritize across accounts when everything feels urgent.
Lead escalations from start to finish. Work with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Success to get the right people moving, and keep the customer informed and confident in the plan.
Work alongside the account teams to bring at-risk customers back to health, including renewal and expansion risk driven by support concerns. Build the recovery plan, drive the technical side, and report on progress until the customer is stable.
Help ASEs translate their actions and activity into outcomes, deliverables, and ROI, and present that to customers and executives in clear decks that cover what happened, what you're doing about it, and what comes next.
Work with the ASE leadership team on initiatives that improve the program and customer outcomes, and see yours through to results.
Partner with Sales, Customer Success, CSMs, Product, and Engineering to push for what customers need, and contribute utilization and onboarding data to capacity and headcount planning with Finance and sales leadership.
Document how the team works and find ways to make it more efficient through tools, process changes, and automation. Use AI well in your own work and coach ASEs to do the same.
What you'll bring
5+ years in technical support, with at least 2 years managing customer-facing technical teams.
Experience with high-touch or assigned support for enterprise customers. Professional services delivery counts. Experience across Self-Managed, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab.com is a plus.
A strong record of handling escalations with both internal teams and customers. You stay calm, keep people aligned, and know when to bring in leadership.
The ability to turn a complicated or nuanced situation into a clear written story and tie activity to outcomes with numbers.
A customer-centric approach balanced with good judgment about what the service, the team, and the company can deliver, and experience working with account teams to bring struggling customers back to health.
A record of getting work done across teams through influence and strong working relationships. You can work with Sales, CS, and account teams to set clear expectations for the ASE service and find the right path for each customer.
Willingness to be available outside standard hours, including weekends, for the occasional critical escalation or customer-impacting incident.
Comfort with ambiguity and change. You keep a team steady while priorities, processes, and the program evolve, and you explain the reasons for changes so people stay engaged.
A strong technical foundation to guide engineers in complex, production-critical environments, including Linux system administration and web application development concepts. Familiarity with Git, DevOps practices, or GitLab is helpful.
A history of developing engineers at different skill levels through real feedback, mentoring, and clear expectations.
Process skills that make a team more efficient without adding bureaucracy, and comfort leading a remote, globally distributed team using metrics and customer feedback.
