Almaty, Kazakhstan · Trust & Safety Engineering
Why this role exists
Our ML and analytics teams already work on fraud detection and risk analysis. This role owns the backend that turns their signals into reliable protections across accounts, credits, payments, and generation. You'll integrate risk checks into product flows, build enforcement services and operator tools, and make sure controls work correctly in production. We're looking for an engineer we can trust to take a backend problem from an unclear starting point to a working solution.
What you'll actually do
- Risk integrations: connect existing ML scores and risk signals to account creation, credit usage, payments, and generation flows, with clear timeouts and fallback behavior.
- Enforcement services: implement configurable rules, rate limits, account restrictions, and credit or payment controls with consistent behavior across services.
- Operator tooling: build APIs and workflows for reviewing cases, inspecting decision history, and safely applying or reversing restrictions.
- Production reliability: handle retries, duplicate events, concurrent requests, and safe rollouts; add monitoring and audit trails so failures can be traced and fixed.
- Work in other teams’ codebases to add signals or interventions without hurting their stability or architecture.
- Ownership: clarify the control with ML, analytics, and operations → scope the smallest useful implementation → ship → verify production behavior and review impact with the team. Our release cycle is days, not quarters, so your first shipped protection happens fast.
Must-haves
1. You've taken a difficult problem from an unclear starting point to a working system used in production, and can explain your own decisions, contribution, and results.
2. You can build reliable backend services: APIs, data models, queues, transactions, idempotency, and concurrency. You can integrate external services and debug failures across the request and event lifecycle.
3. You choose the next steps, remove blockers, and ask for help when needed. You cut scope to test an idea, adapt from evidence, and keep working through difficult problems.
4. You work with ML, analytics, and operations to turn risk requirements into clear backend behavior. You use operator feedback and customer cases to improve controls and learn unfamiliar systems quickly.
5. You take feedback, change your mind when the evidence changes, and do the work the team needs. You share knowledge and responsibility so others can operate and extend what you build.
Who this is not for
- You prefer problems where requirements stay stable after launch.
- You prefer work centered on training models or producing analysis rather than building and operating backend services.
Nice to have
- Fraud prevention, payments risk, or platform abuse experience.
- Integrating risk-scoring services or building rules engines and rate limiters.
- Case management, appeals, and risk operations tooling.
- Familiarity with Stripe.
- Experience building real-time scoring, graph-based account linkage systems.
- Python/Go experience.
Interview process
1. Recruiter screen: role expectations, logistics, and fit.
2. Technical interview: a difficult system you shipped, what you personally decided and built, and how your work made the team more capable without leaving it dependent on you.
3. Additional technical interview, if needed: a deeper discussion of technical skills and open questions.
4. Product fit interview: take an existing risk signal and an operator need, scope a backend protection, and work through failure cases and effects on legitimate customers.
5. Offer.
What we offer
Competitive base in USD, equity, relocation support, and ownership of protections that preserve both company revenue and customer trust.

Built to maintain data integrity and workforce trust across a global contributor base, NIMO combines advanced verification, continuous monitoring, and structured QA to ensure every dataset is accurate, traceable, and culturally grounded. welodata.ai
About the Team
Welo Data's Trust & Safety function protects the integrity of a global, distributed workforce that powers AI data and annotation work. We run a multi-layered fraud detection stack combining identity verification checks, in-house behavioral signals, and platform activity data, and are actively building out a Trust & Safety Committee spanning four core workstreams: identity verification, location verification, account integrity, and multi-accounting detection. This is a hands-on investigative role, not a policy-only seat — you'll be working live cases from day one.
About the Role
We're looking for a Trust & Safety Specialist, based in India, to join our investigations team, working active fraud cases and supporting the broader fraud strategy program. You'll come in with real T&S, fraud/risk, or identity-verification experience from another platform, marketplace, gaming company, fintech, IDV vendor, or crowdsourced-workforce environment, and be ready to run investigations, process removals, and spot fraud patterns from week one.
What You Will Do
Run investigations end-to-end:
triage flagged accounts, review evidence (identity signals, behavioral flags, platform activity data), reach a disposition, and process removals in line with policy and SLA.
Own IDV review:
verify identity and location signals for flagged or high-risk accounts, distinguishing genuine edge cases from fraud.
Conduct manual audits and reviews:
prioritizing cases by risk and signal strength rather than intake order.
Detect multi-accounting and account integrity abuse:
recognize patterns across linked accounts, device/location overlap, and behavioral signals.
Apply a hypothesis-driven investigation method:
form a hypothesis, test it against the evidence, and reach a disposition that can be replicated and audited.
Contribute to detection improvement:
escalate emerging fraud vectors, false-positive/false-negative patterns, and rule gaps to the fraud strategy team.
Handle sensitive data responsibly:
apply GDPR-aligned data handling and deletion practices in every case.
Collaborate cross-functionally:
partner with Research Labs, Quality Strategy Architecture (QSA), and Forward Deployment Engineering on tooling gaps and process fixes surfaced by your casework
What You Bring (Must Have-s)
4+ years in a T&S, fraud/risk, or identity-verification investigations role — from a platform/marketplace T&S team, a fintech/payments risk team, an identity-verification vendor, or a crowdsourced/gig-workforce trust function.
Direct experience with identity/fraud signals — device fingerprinting, IP/geolocation checks, document verification, or behavioral fraud scoring.
Multi-accounting / account integrity pattern recognition — you've dealt with linked-account abuse, farming, or account sharing before, not just single-account review.
Case documentation discipline — you write clean, evidence-backed case notes that would survive an audit or an appeal.
Comfort with ambiguity and volume — you can prioritize a queue by risk, not just clear it by count.
Working knowledge of data privacy obligations (GDPR or equivalent) as they apply to case handling and data retention/deletion.
Nice to Have
Experience specifically in AI/ML data annotation, RLHF, or research operations workforce platforms.
Exposure to rule-based fraud detection engines and an opinion on rule sprawl vs. signal quality.
Familiarity with clustering/anomaly-detection approaches to fraud (even at a conceptual level).
Case management system experience (any ticketing or knowledge-base tooling).
Recommended Education
Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Law, Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Data/Computer Science, or a related field.
Equivalent practical experience in T&S, fraud investigations, or identity verification will be considered in place of a degree.
Relevant certifications are a plus: CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), or IDV/identity risk vendor certifications.

In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
Our Global Food Safety team exists to keep Wolt’s operations safe, compliant, and trusted across every market we’re in. We partner closely with the business on growth and operational excellence initiatives, building customer trust through clear standards, data-driven improvements, and food safety programmes that actually hold up on the ground.
We’re looking for an Associate Manager, Food Safety to help us build and run these programmes across our European markets. You’ll work closely with operations, legal, policy, and frontline teams to protect our customers and partners, and to keep our sites compliant as we grow. Expect regular travel across our European locations.
What you’ll be doing
This is a hands-on role that blends policy work with real, on-the-ground problem-solving. You’ll partner with country and area leaders, support external audits, and help translate global food safety standards into steps that actually work locally.
Day-to-day in this role you’ll:
Partner with country and area leaders to manage food safety compliance and find pragmatic solutions to emerging risks.
Support our external audit programme, coordinating schedules with third-party auditors and local food authorities.
Help develop and maintain our global food safety policies, procedures, and HACCP plans, translating them into concrete steps at country level.
Handle food safety issues, enquiries, and product recalls, guiding country and site teams through execution and customer communication.
Work with Legal and Policy to keep us ahead of food safety regulations across our European markets.
Track compliance metrics and use the data to spot trends and drive improvements
Our humble expectations*
Formal food safety qualification (e.g. Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health), or equivalent hands-on experience.
5+ years of progressive food safety or regulatory compliance experience in hospitality, retail, quick commerce, or manufacturing.
Strong working knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards such as FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, IFS, or BRC.
Proven experience managing food safety programmes across multi-country, multi-unit operations, with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
Proven track record conducting internal/external audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses, with the ability to drive follow-up actions that deliver real compliance improvement.
Experience implementing policies and procedures in response to new business initiatives or evolving risk environments.
Fluent in English, given the multi-country scope of this role.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly across our European markets.
What we offer
The chance to build and shape food safety practices across a fast-growing set of European markets, with real ownership over how you get there.
A seat on a collaborative, supportive global team genuinely invested in your growth as a leader.
Cross-functional exposure — you’ll work directly with legal, policy, ops, and country teams, not from behind a desk.
Next steps*
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. If shortlisted, you’ll start with a screening call with our Talent Acquisition Partner, followed by an interview with the hiring team, a short take-home assignment, and a final debrief. We aim to move quickly and will keep you posted throughout.
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel.

WELCOME TO OLX
We're building marketplace sustainable ecosystems that millions of people depend on every month – to buy and sell cars, find homes, land jobs, and trade secondhand goods. It's commerce that matters: safe, smart, and environmentally responsible.
We do this with courage to innovate, commitment to outcomes, collaboration across 50+ nationalities and 7 markets, and a customer-led approach that puts real people first. Add a desire to win – and you get a culture that's ambitious, fast-moving, and built on trust.
Our brands – including AutoTrader, OLX, Otomoto Property24, and more – are loved by millions. And we're backed by Prosus, one of the world's largest tech investors.
Join OLX and see how far you can go.
About the Role
We are a large-scale consumer marketplace building AI-native product experiences across multiple markets. Trust and Safety is not a defensive function here - it is a strategic growth lever. A platform users trust converts better, retains longer, and earns stronger word of mouth. Fraud, abuse, and bad actors actively destroy the value we create; eliminating them is product work at its core.
We are looking for a Lead Product Manager to own the Trust & Safety product agenda end-to-end. You will define the strategy for how we detect and prevent fraud, protect user integrity, and keep our marketplace safe - while building systems that are intelligent, proportionate, and do not create friction for the millions of legitimate users who rely on us every day. AI is central to how you will do this: not as an add-on, but as the foundation of a new generation of proactive, signal-driven safety infrastructure.
This role can be based in Spain, Portugal or Poland.
What you will do:
Own the Trust & Safety product strategy and roadmap translating business risk and user insight into a clear, prioritised plan.
Shift the function from reactive incident response to proactive, intelligence-driven fraud prevention: build the Risk Engine, data signals intelligence, anomaly detection, and investigation tooling that make this possible.
Ship AI-native T&S product experiences: partner with Data Science and Engineering to design, prototype, and productionise real-time detection and decisioning systems using ML models, LLMs, and behavioural signals.
Balance fraud mitigation with growth protection—ensuring T&S interventions do not unnecessarily create friction for legitimate users or throttle marketplace supply/demand. Make hard, evidence-based trade-off decisions.
Define and track the right T&S success metrics: fraud loss rates, false positive/negative rates, time-to-resolution, user trust scores, and financial exposure. Communicate impact in business terms to senior leadership.
Partner closely with Engineering leads, Data Science, Legal, Compliance, and Operations—holding shared accountability for outcomes and navigating competing priorities.
Build long-term instrumentation, monitoring, and evaluation capabilities to measure fraud rates, detection model performance, and contributor/user impact at scale.
Establish business cases quantifying fraud losses and ROI of prevention investments; secure resources and drive prioritisation grounded in data.
Ensure products and strategies meet local and regional compliance, legal, and security requirements across all markets.
Apply AI to how you operate as a PM: faster threat analysis, synthetic user research on abuse patterns, AI-assisted spec writing, automated experimentation pipelines—whatever moves the needle on velocity.
Represent Trust & Safety at the leadership level, presenting strategy, risk posture, and results clearly to executive audiences.
What we are looking for:
Significant product management experience in the digital sector: consumer facing platform, marketplace, mobility, e-commerce, classifieds, fintech, or similar high scale environment.
Proven experience owning trust related products or problem spaces such as Trust & Safety, Fraud Prevention, Risk, Identity & Verification, Marketplace Integrity, Account Security, Abuse Prevention, Payments Risk, or Compliance Technology.
Track record of building scalable systems that proactively detect, prevent, and mitigate abuse, fraud, risk, or other trust related issues, rather than relying solely on manual or operational processes.
Strong analytical and data driven mindset, with experience defining success metrics, evaluating impact, and making prioritization decisions based on evidence and measurable outcomes.
Experience partnering closely with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to deliver complex products in regulated or high-risk environments. Experience in vendor management and collaboration.
Experience building, deploying, or working closely with machine learning, AI, risk scoring, decisioning, detection, recommendation, or automation systems. Hands-on experience with AI-powered trust or fraud products is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to balance user experience, marketplace growth, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation, making thoughtful trade offs that protect both users and the business.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity, taking ownership of complex problem spaces, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving strategy and execution across multiple teams.
Strong core product muscle that transfers across fraud domains—you've stepped into unfamiliar threat vectors, oriented fast, and delivered. Domain specificity matters; rigid domain lock-in does not.
Well versed in building, iterating core Data (Science) products at scale
Nice to Have:
Experience building trust, risk, fraud, or safety products across
multiple international markets
and regulatory environments.
Familiarity with
emerging regulations
and industry trends affecting online platforms, digital marketplaces, payments, AI, and consumer trust.
If you're excited by the opportunity to solve complex trust challenges at scale and build products that make a meaningful difference to millions of users, we'd love to hear from you. This is a role for someone who enjoys tackling ambiguous problems, partnering across disciplines, and shaping the future of trust in a modern, AI-powered marketplace.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at OLX
OLX values diversity and welcomes applicants of all races, ethnicities, disabilities, ages, genders, sexual orientations, religions, backgrounds, and experiences to apply. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet all the requirements - you may be just the right fit for this or other opportunities with us!
OLX will process your personal data to assess your fit for the applied position. You may optionally consent to store your data for up to 12 months after the application process for consideration in future OLX roles.
