ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.

ABOUT BASETEN
Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-our-series-f/, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products.
THE ROLE
Baseten is growing fast, and how we hire shapes what we become. As our Recruiting Operations Program Manager, you'll find where the recruiting team is losing time or quality, confirm it with data, and build and run the program that fixes it. Some of that work is quick, like a data pull for leadership or an Ashby answer for a recruiter. Some of it spans months and needs executive buy-in.
You'll identify, build and own programs end to end, from redesigning core recruiting processes to building and shipping AI-powered tools that change how our recruiters work every day. You'll work across Ashby, Notion, Slack, and Claude, and treat AI as a core part of how recruiting runs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Break large, ambiguous problems into clear phases, owners, and deadlines, and drive them through to adoption, not just launch.
- Lead large-scale recruiting programs end to end: secure leadership buy-in, manage timelines across stakeholders, and use data to decide what to change and how to measure it.
- Analyze interview plans, pass-through rates, stage timing, and interviewer load in Ashby, and turn findings into concrete recommendations.
- Own data hygiene and job setup consistency across the pipeline so leadership can trust recruiting reporting, and build the dashboards and reports the team relies on.
- Support operational asks from recruiters and leadership, and turn repeated asks into self-serve tools or documented answers.
- Build, pilot, and iterate on Claude-powered tools and workflows that solve recurring pain points across the recruiting team.
- Keep recruiting documentation – including interview guides, playbooks, SOPs, and training material – current, monitored, and easy to find.
- Propose and roll out process changes that make recruiting faster and more consistent, including the comms and training that make them stick.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years in recruiting operations, program management, or a related operations role at a fast-growing company.
- Track record of running cross-functional projects end to end, including getting buy-in from senior leaders.
- Comfort pulling, analyzing, and presenting data, and turning it into clear recommendations.
- Clear, concise writing, including for executive audiences.
- Strong prioritization skills, with the ability to balance long-running programs with day-to-day asks.
NICE TO HAVE
- Hands-on Ashby experience, especially reporting and dashboards, or deep experience with another ATS, including using data and metrics to drive decisions and set priorities.
- Experience building workflows or tools with AI (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar).
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)
- Paid parental leave
- Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot
- (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k)
- Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.
Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey in shaping the future of AI! If you are a motivated individual with a passion for machine learning and a desire to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.
At Baseten, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status.

ABOUT MODAL TALENT:
Modal is growing fast, and the programs that bring people in and set them up to succeed are still being built. You’ll join the Talent team as one of its first hires focused on early-career hiring, working closely with recruiting and leadership to build the internship and campus presence that shape how the best people discover and experience Modal for the first time.
THE ROLE:
As Emerging Talent Recruiter, you will own Modal’s intern program and run full-cycle recruiting for our early-career and internship roles. This is a build-from-the-ground-up role for someone who wants full ownership rather than an existing playbook to execute. You’ll find talent before everyone else does, partner directly with hiring managers to close it, and make sure candidates’ and interns’ first experience of Modal is a great one. Where it makes sense, you’ll also own our career fair presence and talent events, and make sure every program ladders up to real hiring outcomes.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
- Own full-cycle recruiting for Modal’s emerging talent roles, from sourcing through offer and close
- Partner with hiring managers across Engineering and other teams to define hiring needs, align on candidate profiles, and calibrate on early-career talent
- Identify and engage high-potential candidates through universities, student communities, technical networks, referrals, events, and other emerging-talent channels
- Design and run the intern program end to end: recruiting timeline, project scoping with hiring managers, mentorship matching, and conversion to full-time
- Lead offer and closing conversations, building strong candidate relationships and helping exceptional people understand the opportunity to build their careers at Modal
- Represent Modal at career fairs and campus events, and recruit and prep employee brand ambassadors to join you
- Build and maintain relationships with university programs, bootcamps, and community organizations that feed our pipeline
- Plan and run talent events (meetups, recruiting mixers, tech talks), managing budgets and vendors along the way
- Track and report on pipeline health and program metrics: event pipeline conversion, intern conversion rate, and cost per hire from programs
- Create a candidate experience that is thoughtful, transparent, and high-touch at every stage
- Experiment with new ways to find, engage, and hire great talent early, and turn what works into repeatable practices
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have 2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a track record of identifying and engaging exceptional talent and strong instincts for candidate quality
- You’ve run recruiting or talent programs, events, or university relations, ideally owning a program end to end, including budget and vendors
- You learn new talent markets quickly, calibrate to a high hiring bar, and can recruit across different roles and functions
- You’re a strong project manager: you juggle multiple pipelines, events, and timelines without dropping details or sacrificing candidate quality
- You’re high influence, low ego: you build relationships easily across recruiting, hiring managers, and marketing, and share credit freely
- You communicate well, in writing and in person, and you’re comfortable representing Modal externally
- You take ownership seriously: you drive programs to completion and build structures that let them scale
- You have an experimental mindset and like trying new approaches
- You’re based in or willing to relocate to NYC, in-office
