An overview of this role
As an Engineering Manager, Gitaly at GitLab, you'll guide a deeply technical team focused on building, maintaining, and providing expertise on Gitaly, GitLab's Git data storage tier. The team's work spans development of Gitaly, support for teams across GitLab, new tooling, scalability improvements, new data formats, and ongoing maintenance of the Gitaly codebase.
This role is a good fit for you if you can guide senior and staff engineers through complex, long-horizon technical work while building a culture of technical rigor, clear accountability, and ownership. You'll help the team balance roadmap delivery with GitLab product and infrastructure priorities, especially as much of the team's work is centered on scaling Git storage and adjacent foundational work. Clear written communication and thoughtful technical judgment are central to how this team succeeds.
Project areas include:
Scaling Git storage
Gitaly-related infrastructure and foundational performance work
What you’ll do
Manage a team of senior and staff engineers working on Gitaly and Gitaly-related infrastructure.
Build a team culture where technical rigor, clear accountability, and ownership are the norm.
Drive execution on complex, long-horizon work across performance, scalability, maintainability, and core Gitaly architecture.
Guide the team in balancing roadmap delivery with GitLab product and infrastructure priorities.
Support your engineers' growth through feedback, mentoring, career development, and stretch opportunities.
Foster strong written communication and asynchronous alignment across a fully distributed team.
Partner with teams like Git and other stakeholders who rely on Gitaly expertise for performance, feature design, and roadmap clarity.
Represent the team credibly with cross-functional partners and in stakeholder conversations about Gitaly direction, performance, and scalability.
Take part in on-call or operational support where your team’s ownership model requires it.
What you’ll bring
Experience managing engineering teams with direct reports, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
A management philosophy centered on building engineer agency and ownership, with credibility grounded in consistency, follow-through, and technical judgment.
Proven ability to guide highly specialized engineers through ambiguity, structured debate, high-stakes technical tradeoffs, and the realities of operating a service that is critical to GitLab.
Strong written communication and remote, asynchronous collaboration skills across distributed, multi-timezone teams. You're comfortable moving work forward in documents, issue threads, and asynchronous reviews, not just in meetings.
A track record of delivering under pressure on ambiguous, long-horizon technical projects with clear outcomes, and of reasoning from fundamentals about maintainability, technical debt, and long-term platform viability.
Hands-on background in version control systems, distributed systems, storage engines, or other low-level infrastructure domains, with the ability to engage credibly with systems code and architecture, ideally in Go or similarly performance-sensitive environments.
About the team
On the Gitaly team, we build, maintain, and provide expertise on Gitaly, GitLab's Git data storage tier. WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE?
ICEYE is seeking an Electrical AIT (Assembly, Integration & Testing) Engineer to own the electrical/avionics side of production end to end -- integration, debugging, continuous improvement, and adapting processes as new designs come through. In this role, you will be the technical expert responsible for satellite-level testing, system validation, and electrical functional performance. You will ensure that the satellite's power, propulsion, GNC, GPS, and CDH/OBC systems perform as a cohesive, flight-ready unit, ensuring the spacecraft meets ICEYE's high standards for reliability and mission success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute unit-level and satellite-level verification and validation (V&V) campaigns, focusing on power, propulsion, GNC, GPS, and CDH/OBC functional performance and system health.
- Lead the integration of electrical/avionics hardware with satellite subsystems (power, propulsion, GNC, GPS, CDH/OBC, thermal), ensuring seamless interoperability.
- Test and validate the hardware/software interface -- telemetry and telecommand behavior, CDH bus interfaces, and OBC-driven subsystem responses -- without owning flight software development or debugging, which sits with the Software AIT team.
- Develop and maintain test scripts and automation (Python) to enhance the efficiency, repeatability, and coverage of functional and environmental test campaigns.
- Act as a primary technical contact for electrical-related integration issues; perform root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinate with power/propulsion/GNC engineering to resolve anomalies.
- Support production readiness and design reviews (e.g., PRR, CDR) by providing feedback on electrical testability, HIL and EGSE requirements, and system configuration.
- Contribute to and improve AIT documentation, including electrical test procedures, integration plans, and configuration records.
- Interface with Global AIT, Power/Propulsion/GNC Engineering, and Mission Operations teams to ensure alignment on product standards and lessons learned.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in electrical integration methods, test efficiency, and build reliability.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical/avionics integration, testing, or production of complex systems, preferably in aerospace or high-reliability hardware industries.
- Working proficiency in scripting and automation (Python preferred) for test development and data analysis.
- Deep technical understanding of satellite electrical architectures, including power systems, propulsion, GNC, GPS, and/or CDH/OBC.
- Proven experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments with a focus on system-level validation.
- Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, environmental testing (EMC, vibration, thermal), and configuration management processes.
- A systems engineering mindset, capable of anticipating integration risks and connecting the dots between software logic, hardware interfaces, and mission operations.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, to ensure clear communication in a cross-functional environment.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience using Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Confluence)
- Lean & Six Sigma experience
- Experience with power system EGSE, propulsion functional testing, or GNC/GPS calibration beyond routine test execution
- Ability to improve and/or write test scripts in Python
- Strong track record of enabling design-for-testability (DFT) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM)
- Proficient in Japanese, both written and spoken
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
- A job that matters in a dynamic Defence Technology and Earth Observation environment with a scale-up approach.
- An independent role with a supportive and diverse work environment.
- Health insurance.
- Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes.
- Relocation support, where applicable (e.g., flight tickets, accommodation, relocation agency support).
- Inspiring, collaborative offices and silent workspaces that enable you to focus.

About the role
We're hiring a Trainers Team Lead to run and grow our team of sales trainers and field collector trainers in a fast-growing fintech company. You make sure our field teams get consistent, high-quality training, delivered on time, even as products and priorities change quickly.
You plan trainer capacity, manage workload, develop trainers' skills, and own the quality of training delivery and materials, improving them continuously through feedback and business performance data. The role sits within Partners & Distribution.

- Own a clear, transparent system for tracking trainer workload
- Manage workload and plan training schedules
- Take on the more complex training tickets yourself

- Hire and onboard trainers: define the profile of the trainer we need and spot the skills the team lacks, rather than just hiring someone to run sessions
- Develop trainers' competencies, including facilitation skills and the ability to create learning materials to a set standard
- Support team members while holding them accountable for quality and results
- Coach trainers and subject matter experts, and align learning priorities with operational performance gaps
3. Delivery excellence
- Standardize facilitation practices and monitor consistency across trainers

- Own the training tickets and make sure SLAs are met
- Run needs analysis and post-training effectiveness reviews
4. Training materials quality control

- Keep training materials current and controlled, together with quality, HR and operations
What we are looking for

- Strong facilitation skills and a clear view of what good training delivery looks like
- Understanding of the sales process and employees' learning needs across onboarding, ramp-up, and ongoing development
- Comfort in a high-paced, fast-changing environment: you reprioritize quickly, decide with incomplete information, and keep quality high under tight deadlines
- Fluency in English and Tagalog for training delivery, feedback, and material development
Who you will work with
Business leaders in Partners & Distribution, Quality, HR, and Operations, plus the sales and field collector teams your trainers serve.
