An overview of this role
Site Reliability Engineers keep GitLab's user-facing services and production systems running reliably at scale. They combine software engineering with operational excellence, applying sound engineering principles, automation, and continuous improvement to build, operate, and evolve our production infrastructure.
This is a single application for Site Reliability Engineering opportunities across Infrastructure Platforms. Rather than asking you to choose the right team or level upfront, we evaluate your skills holistically and match you to the opportunity that best aligns with your experience and our hiring needs. We hire Site Reliability Engineers from Intermediate through Senior Staff across multiple Infrastructure Platforms teams.
We don't expect every candidate to have experience with every technology in our environment. We're looking for engineers with strong technical fundamentals, a growth mindset, and the ability to learn quickly. We'll support you in becoming successful with GitLab's tools, systems, and ways of working.
Please note: This position is open to candidates based in the United Kingdom only. Candidates based in the United States or Canada can apply to this posting:
Site Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure Platforms — AMER (Intermediate to Senior Staff)
How our SRE hiring works
Because this is a single application for SRE roles across Infrastructure Platforms, our process is built to evaluate you once and match you well, rather than interviewing separately for every team.
Recruiter Screen:
A conversation about your background, what you're looking for, and the level and teams that fit, so we can point your process in the right direction.
Core Technical:
The shared assessment every SRE candidate takes, regardless of eventual team. A low-stress, collaborative discussion covering system architecture and incident review.
Hiring Manager Interview:
A conversation about ownership, judgment, execution, collaboration, and growth, the non-technical signals that make an SRE effective at GitLab.
Peer Technical:
Team-specific depth, run by SREs from the team you're most likely to join, focused on the problems that team actually works on.
Skip-Level Interview:
A conversation with a senior leader on values alignment, and how you'll work across teams.
After your interviews, we consider your performance alongside our current hiring needs to confirm the level and team where you'll do your best work. Interview results are a major factor, and final placement also reflects our active hiring priorities at the time.
We’ll calibrate your level throughout the interview process based on the scope and impact of your experience.
Intermediate: You independently deliver meaningful reliability improvements within a defined area.
Senior: You own complex reliability work end to end and raise the effectiveness of your team.
Staff: You shape reliability across multiple teams, solving systemic problems and creating approaches others can reuse.
Senior Staff: You set technical direction across a broader Infrastructure area and influence reliability strategy at organizational scale.
What you'll do
Keep user-facing services and production systems reliable, scalable, and efficient
Build automation and tooling that reduces toil and replaces manual work with repeatable, infrastructure-as-code-driven workflows
Operate and troubleshoot production systems on Kubernetes, including deployments, rollouts, and scaling
Write and maintain infrastructure as code, and ship changes safely through CI/CD and GitOps
Participate in on-call, triage alerts, follow and improve runbooks, and escalate appropriately
Contribute to the observability stack, using metrics, logs, and SLOs to detect symptoms early rather than just outages
Take part in incident response and post-incident reviews, turning learnings into changes in automation and process
Document runbooks, architecture decisions, and reviews so your findings become repeatable practices
What you'll bring
Experience keeping production systems reliable, combining an operations mindset with real software engineering practice
Experience building net-new infrastructure tooling and automation, not just configuring existing tools. For example, Terraform modules, Kubernetes operators or controllers, or production automation and services written from scratch
The ability to read, debug, and reason about code. Most of our teams work in Go; some work in Ruby. You can discuss a piece of code's behavior, performance, and failure modes
Experience with infrastructure as code, and with Kubernetes and its ecosystem, at a depth appropriate to your level
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP or AWS)
Familiarity with observability practices, including metrics, logging, alerting, and SLOs or SLIs, and using data to inform operational decisions
Comfort participating in on-call and incident response, with a structured approach to troubleshooting under pressure
Strong written communication and the ability to operate as a manager-of-one in an async, distributed environment
A track record of using automation, and increasingly AI, to reduce toil and improve how you and your team work
Alignment with GitLab's values and a commitment to working in accordance with them

1Password is growing. We’ve surpassed $500M in ARR and we’re continuing to accelerate, earning a spot on the Forbes Cloud 100 for four years in a row and teaming up with iconic partners like Oracle Red Bull Racing.
About 1Password
At 1Password, we’re building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign-in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Unified Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to the world’s most innovative AI companies, trust 1Password to help their teams securely adopt the SaaS and AI tools they need to do their best work.
If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future.
Device Infrastructure Services owns the full lifecycle of hardware and operating systems across 1Password. The team is looking for the Staff Engineer who will lead its next chapter: a deliberate shift from legacy device management patterns towards devops and AI-enabled operations.
You'll be the technical leader of this team, responsible for setting the roadmap for this transformation and making sure it gets executed. This isn't a role where you hand off a roadmap and step back: you'll be in the build alongside the team, coaching engineers and raising the ceiling on what they're capable of. If you're excited by building scalable systems, shaping the strategy behind tools the whole company depends on, and bringing out the best work in the people around you, we want to hear from you.
How we’re using AI today
Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- 7+ years of IT and enterprise endpoint management experience, including 2+ years at a senior or staff IC level, with a track record of building and managing endpoints with Gitops practices.
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of enterprise endpoint management, deep operating system-level experience, and the ability to recognize patterns across a fleet and build fixes that prevent recurrence.
- Practical experience using AI tools to enable or accelerate IT operations and the judgment to know where AI speeds things up versus where it introduces risk.
- Proven ability to define and drive technical roadmaps, seeing around corners and balancing long-term vision with near-term execution.
- Strong scripting and IaC ability (Bash, Python, and Terraform at minimum) — both writing production-quality automation yourself and reviewing others' code with a critical eye.
- Deep working knowledge of enterprise security fundamentals as they apply to endpoints: encryption, patch/vulnerability management, EDR, least-privilege enforcement, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar).
- Lead through change, collaborate effectively, and mentor engineers while maintaining a focused and impactful team environment.
What you can expect:
- Own the technical direction of our Device Infrastructure Services, the tooling and standards that keep ~2,000 endpoints compliant, configured, and secure.
- Drive the technical direction of a DevOps operating model for the fleet — config-as-code, version control, code review, and CI/CD pipelines in place of manual console changes — and drive adoption of that model across the IT team.
- Lead the adoption of responsible agentic AI across the device team, building the guardrails that decide what agents can act on autonomously and what still needs a human checkpoint.
- Act as the final escalation point for high-severity endpoint incidents, including deep machine-level diagnosis on both macOS and Windows hardware.
- Partner across IT, Security, and product teams building custom solutions and helping push their initiatives across the finish line.
- Assess and pilot new tooling (e.g., MDM platform migrations, patch management systems) and drive build-vs-buy decisions.
- Collaborate with product teams to advise on features from the perspective of a real-world enterprise device deployment, and lead Customer Zero initiatives — piloting and stress-testing our own product against our internal fleet before it reaches customers.
What success looks like:
- Establishing a clear 12-month roadmap for the transition to a GitOps-based operating model.
- Building device health metrics and remediation standards for machine security, performance, and employee experience.
- Developing our AI-assisted operations strategy, with automation milestones that balance speed, human review, security and agentic workflows.
- Supporting the unpredictable release cadence of major OS vendors, and making sure those updates land safely across the org.
- Bringing the team along with you — at 1Password, we Put People First. This role isn't just about leveling up what we can do technically, it's also about coaching the team along the way.
USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $143,000 USD and $207,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $122,000 CAD and $177,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.
This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Our culture
At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first.
You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
The Endpoint team (Client Platform Engineering) manages the laptops and handsets every Anthropic employee works on, plus the infrastructure underneath them. We treat the fleet as a distributed platform, not a collection of devices, and every piece of configuration ships as code through pull requests, CI, staging, and a canary group. Today the mobile side of the fleet is BYOD. This role exists to change that. You will design and implement a corporate-issued mobile device program (managed company phones and managed Apple accounts) in every region Anthropic operates in, and take it from early design to production.
The team is deliberately lean and runs with high autonomy. You’ll define what a corporate mobile program looks like at Anthropic and own the platform decisions that get it there.
Responsibilities
Design the corporate-issued mobile device program: device standards, what we issue to whom, and how the program grows from a first region to everywhere Anthropic operates
Own the global logistics of issuing hardware: procurement partners, regional coverage, spares, and refresh cycles
Bring mobile configuration into the team’s config-as-code pipeline so mobile policies are reviewed, tested, and progressively rolled out like the rest of the fleet
Build zero-touch enrollment: Apple Business Manager and ADE with managed Apple accounts on iOS, the zero-touch equivalent on Android, so a new phone works the first time without hands-on setup
Own policy, compliance, and device lifecycle for the corporate fleet, from issue to wipe
Build telemetry on the corporate fleet: which devices are checking in, OS and patch state, drift between reported and actual state
Own managed app distribution for mobile, from app approval through update rollout
Partner with Corporate Security on device posture, device trust signals, and travel devices for international trips
Decide how corporate-issued and BYOD coexist, and own that boundary as the program rolls out
You may be a good fit if you
Have owned a global or multi-region mobile device program end to end, with 8+ years managing corporate fleets at thousands-of-devices scale
Go deep on iOS device management: enrollment flows, Apple Business Manager and ADE, APNs and certificate lifecycle, declarative device management
Have worked with Android device management and can hold your own in a mixed fleet
Treat device configuration as code and have moved past clicking in consoles
Have run the infrastructure under an MDM, not just administered a SaaS console: a self-hosted MDM server, AWS, Terraform, and configuration that ships as code
Have built or launched a corporate device program, not just operated one, and can decide how it coexists with BYOD
Excel at ambiguous problems that touch several teams at once
Communicate technical concepts clearly to any audience
View IT Engineering as requiring product engineering rigor
Write clear documentation as a natural part of your workflow
Strong candidates may also
Have managed ChromeOS devices alongside a mobile fleet
Have run a device program across multiple regions and dealt with the logistics that come with it
Have built automated, progressive rollout systems with promotion gated on telemetry
Bring proficiency in Swift for building device tooling
Have used LLMs to automate operational work, or are excited to make Claude a teammate
Technical Skills
Python and shell scripting
iOS and Android platform internals (depth on iOS, working knowledge of Android)
Modern MDM or UEM platforms (Jamf, Intune, Workspace ONE, or equivalent)
Running the infrastructure under an MDM (self-hosted servers, AWS GCP, Terraform)
Querying live device state at fleet scale
Mobile device lifecycle automation (enrollment, policy, patching, app distribution)
GitOps and CI for configuration management
Endpoint security fundamentals
Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$285,000

$325,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

You will be a hands-on owner of Kubernetes, GCP, Terraform, GitOps, observability, and stateful production services. You will strengthen follow-the-sun operations during APAC hours, coordinate reliable handoffs with Europe, and turn operational incidents into durable automation, runbooks, and reliability improvements.
What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):
- Own production reliability during APAC operating hours, including alert triage, incident coordination, mitigation, communication, and cross-region handoffs
- After onboarding and shadowing, participate in a shared primary/secondary on-call rotation with documented backup and escalation paths
- Build and operate GCP/GKE and hybrid Kubernetes infrastructure using Terraform, Atlantis, FluxCD, Helm, and Kustomize
- Ship reviewed, observable, and reversible production changes through GitLab CI/CD and GitOps workflows
- Build monitoring and alerting with Prometheus/Mimir, Grafana, Alertmanager, and Grafana IRM; improve alert quality, SLOs, runbooks, and post-incident actions
- Operate stateful services and recovery mechanisms, including PostgreSQL/CloudNativePG, WAL backups, Redis, Kafka, persistent volumes, and capacity tuning
- Manage IAM, Workload Identity, secrets, artifact registries, DNS, TLS, ingress, load balancers, and network policies
- Automate repetitive operations using Python, Go, Bash, or similar tools
- Review infrastructure changes and collaborate asynchronously with engineers across APAC, Europe, and North America
What We Look For In You (Required Qualifications):
- Typically five or more years of production experience in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure operations, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Strong Kubernetes and cloud-platform experience; production GCP/GKE experience is preferred
- Strong Terraform/IaC, GitOps, and CI/CD fundamentals
- Solid Linux, containers, networking, DNS/TLS, IAM, and secrets-management knowledge.
- Experience monitoring and responding to incidents involving distributed or stateful services
- Practical scripting and automation skills.
- Clear written and spoken English, with strong documentation and asynchronous handoff habits
- Ability to work the published APAC schedule and participate in the defined on-call rotation
Nice To Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
- FluxCD, Helm, Kustomize, Atlantis, or GitLab CI
- Prometheus, Mimir, Grafana, Grafana IRM, Loki, or Alertmanager
- CloudNativePG, Barman/WAL recovery, Redis, Kafka, or GCS
- Bitcoin, Elements/Liquid, electrs, Lightning, exchange-market-data, or other high-availability financial infrastructure
- Hybrid/on-premises Kubernetes or security-sensitive infrastructure experience

ClickHouse is looking for an experienced engineer to join our Observability organization. We are hiring across two closely aligned teams: Observability Platform and Internal Observability.
Together, these teams build and operate the systems behind ClickHouse’s internal observability and ClickStack Cloud. Our platforms process trillions of events per day, sustaining throughput in the hundreds of millions of events per second. The experience we gain operating observability at ClickHouse scale feeds directly back into the platform and product we provide to customers.
The Observability Platform team builds shared systems for telemetry ingestion, durable buffering, processing, storage, autoscaling, and service provisioning. The Internal Observability team operates ClickHouse’s company-wide observability platform and works with engineering teams to improve reliability, debugging, and operational efficiency.
This is a software engineering role at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and production operations. You will build systems, operate what you build, respond to incidents, and turn recurring operational problems into durable software and automation.
Your background may be in backend engineering, infrastructure, SRE, or systems engineering. What matters most is your ability to solve ambiguous production problems, make sound engineering tradeoffs, and take ownership from design through operation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design, build, and operate distributed systems that ingest, process, and store telemetry at very high scale.
- Own the reliability, performance, capacity, and cost-efficiency of telemetry pipelines and storage systems.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, help resolve production incidents, and drive root-cause fixes through to completion.
- Build software and automation that eliminate repetitive operational work and make the platform easier to operate.
- Identify architectural bottlenecks and help shape the roadmap for the next stage of scale.
- Work closely with product, infrastructure, and service teams across ClickHouse.
- Contribute to architecture and design reviews and help raise engineering quality across the team.
HOW YOU WORK
- You take ownership and proactively improve the systems around you.
- You are comfortable debugging unfamiliar distributed systems in production.
- You make pragmatic tradeoffs between reliability, performance, delivery speed, and cost.
- You communicate clearly in a remote, async-friendly environment.
- You prefer incremental delivery: ship a focused solution, validate it in production, and improve it based on evidence.
- You address the underlying cause of operational problems rather than repeatedly treating the symptoms.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production systems at scale.
- Strong proficiency in Go.
- Experience building and operating services on Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps tooling such as Terraform, Helm, and Argo CD.
- Production experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with telemetry systems such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or comparable technologies.
BONUS POINTS
- Experience with ClickHouse.
- Experience with high-throughput ingestion, streaming, queueing, or storage systems.
- Experience building multi-tenant cloud services.
- Experience optimizing infrastructure for both performance and cost.
- Experience with TypeScript.
