About Us
Since 2013, we’ve been building a CRM that gets out of your way and helps your team sell more, faster. Now we’re building AI into every part of it, so Close does the busywork and your team does the selling. No manual data entry, no 10-click workflows. Just communication-first, AI-powered sales software designed to help you succeed and scale.
We're bootstrapped and profitable which means we answer to our customers and play by our rules. We're proud of our 130-person, 100% remote team, focused on building Close so that no small, scaling business fails because it can't figure out sales.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Close is a CRM built around the communication tools sales teams use every day: email, calling, SMS, workflows, reporting, and AI. Underneath that product is a broad technical surface — Python services and a large application backend, a TypeScript and React frontend, public APIs, Docker and Kubernetes, AWS infrastructure, and integrations with providers that handle sensitive customer data.
Security work happens across it all today, but the ownership is spread across Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security & Trust. We’re hiring our first dedicated Product Security Engineer to make that work systematic. You’ll report to the Backend Platform team manager within EPD (Engineering, Product, and Design), while working across the entire product and infrastructure surface. You’ll find vulnerabilities, determine which findings matter most, and drive them through remediation. Often you’ll fix the problem yourself. Other times you’ll give the owning team a clear reproduction, a practical path forward, and enough context to prioritize correctly.
You’ll analyze code, build proof-of-concepts, test running applications, tune or replace noisy tools, and automate the repetitive parts of vulnerability management. This is not a role where you forward scanner alerts and call the queue managed. Product and application security will be your responsibility. You’ll partner closely with our Infrastructure team on cloud security, access, and secrets, and with our Security & Trust Lead on GRC Engineering https://grc.engineering/, compliance (SOC 2) goals, audits, and corporate security.
This role is a new one at Close. You’ll have significant room to decide where better tooling, clearer ownership, and a small amount of code can reduce the most risk.
OUR STACK
Our backend is primarily Python, with Flask and FastAPI services and TaskTiger https://github.com/closeio/tasktiger and Temporal handling much of our asynchronous work. We expose REST https://developer.close.com/ and GraphQL APIs and store data in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
Our frontend is a large single-page TypeScript application built primarily with React. We bundle with Vite, target modern browsers, and test with Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and Chromatic. The product updates in near real time and uses technologies including WebSockets and WebRTC. Our mobile application is built with React Native.
We build and test Docker images in CI/CD and continuously deploy them to Kubernetes on AWS. Our infrastructure uses managed services including EKS, MSK, and ElastiCache, alongside services running on EC2. Terraform and Ansible automate much of the underlying infrastructure, and our containerized local development environment lets engineers run the full system on their own machines.
For this role, our stack extends beyond simply backend or frontend: browser behavior, frontend state, API authorization, asynchronous processing, data access, third-party integrations, containers, and cloud configuration can all be part of the same attack path.
We love open sourcing our code and ideas on our GitHub https://github.com/closeio and on The Making of Close https://making.close.com/, our behind-the-scenes Product & Engineering blog. Check out our open source projects like SocketShark https://github.com/closeio/socketshark, TaskTiger https://github.com/closeio/tasktiger, LimitLion https://github.com/closeio/limitlion and ciso8601 https://github.com/closeio/ciso8601.
AI is both how we build and what we ship, and that's reshaped what engineering looks like. This is a transformation we’re embracing and find deeply exciting.
YOU ARE
- An application security engineer who writes code. You can move from reading an unfamiliar code path, to reproducing an exploit, to proposing or shipping a production-quality fix. Strong Python or TypeScript experience would be especially useful; fluency across both backend and frontend systems is even better.
- Skilled at finding vulnerabilities conventional scanners may miss. You use modern AI-assisted review pipelines, guided by expert judgment, to uncover subtle flaws in web apps and APIs—from authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation to injection, SSRF, unsafe data flows, and business logic. You can threat-model designs, white-box review code, and test running systems.
- Offensive-minded and operationally responsible. You know how to test like an attacker without being careless with customer data or production systems. You can turn a finding into a safe reproduction, assess exploitability and business impact, and retest the eventual fix.
- An automation builder. You have worked with some mix of SAST, DAST, software composition analysis, container scanning, secrets scanning, or cloud posture tooling. More importantly, you know how to tune tools, connect them to engineering workflows, and remove noise.
- AI-native and accountable. You use coding agents and LLMs to accelerate investigation, code review, and repetitive engineering work, but you verify their output. You think carefully about what happens when agents clone untrusted code, install dependencies, or receive access to credentials.
- Able to separate severity from priority. A score is an input, not a foregone conclusion. You consider reachability, existing controls, customer impact, and attack chains, then explain the risk in language that is legible to an engineer or business owner.
- Comfortable working across the business. You’ll collaborate with product engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Security & Trust Lead, auditors, and external researchers without confusing partnership for pass-off ownership. You will follow findings to closure even when another team is responsible for the fix.
- Self-directed in a remote environment. You can take an ambiguous surface (say, secret rotation or dependency remediation) and learn how it works across multiple systems then turn it into a practical plan with measurable progress.
You do not need to arrive as the deepest expert in every part of this scope. You do need to be able to investigate an unfamiliar system, determine what matters, and bring the right people with you.
YOU WILL
The work spans hands-on application security, security automation, vulnerability management, and infrastructure partnership. Depending on where you find the greatest risk and leverage, projects could include:
- Build a recurring product security review program. Threat model new features, audit high-risk areas, review code, and build safe proof-of-concepts in isolated development environments. Work across our backend, frontend, APIs, and customer-facing integrations.
- Improve application security testing. Combine static analysis, dependency and secrets scanning, dynamic testing in development, and carefully scoped production testing. Use existing tools where they fit and build focused automation where they don’t.
- Own vulnerability intake and remediation. Triage findings from HackerOne, scanners, penetration tests, audits, customers, and internal research. Reproduce issues, assess exploitability and impact, track remediation, and verify fixes. Serve as technical lead for our bug bounty program while contract and budget ownership remain elsewhere.
- Turn security alerts into useful engineering work. Verify scanner coverage and automate ingestion, deduplication, enrichment, prioritization, and routing—so teams spend less time interpreting alerts and more time fixing important issues.
- Make dependency remediation safer and less manual. Improve scanning across our Python and TypeScript codebases, then build workflows to assess upgrades, stage pull requests, run checks, and route work without exposing credentials to untrusted packages or build steps.
- Make secrets routinely rotatable. Partner with service owners and Infrastructure to inventory application secrets, add graceful rotation paths, document provider-specific runbooks, and automate rotation where the provider and risk justify it. Expand our use of Vault-backed dynamic credentials and reduce the number of rotations that require a coordinated fire drill.
- Strengthen AWS security with Infrastructure. Evaluate and improve automated detection of risky configuration across identity, networking, compute, storage, containers, and registries. Turn findings into secure defaults, just-in-time access patterns, infrastructure guardrails, and actionable remediation—not build a second Infrastructure team.
- Support audits and raising the security floor. Partner with Security & Trust on external assessments, provide technical context, and ensure findings are fixed rather than rediscovered. Along the way, create documentation, paved roads, and lightweight training that helps engineers make safer choices without waiting for a security review.
- Take a key technical role in security incident response. Partner with Engineering and Infrastructure to coordinate investigation, containment, and remediation. Contribute to root-cause analysis and follow-up improvements, translating lessons learned into stronger controls and reduced recurrence.
Tech you’ll touch: Python, TypeScript, React, Flask, FastAPI, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Vault, GitHub Actions, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch and the security tooling you help us choose.

An overview of this role
As a Staff Renewals Operations Manager at GitLab, you'll help own the operational engine that makes renewals predictable, measurable, and efficient at scale. Reporting to the Director of CX Operations, you'll be the Renewals team's go-to business partner for processes, tooling, forecasting and insights, consumption and subscription data, and the steps required to quote and close a renewal. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports. You'll lead through ownership and influence, connecting teams and workflows, turning ambiguous problems into clear next steps, and driving improvements that others across the revenue organization depend on.
What you'll do
Own and continuously improve the end-to-end renewal operating model; from renewal identification, assignment through risk management, quoting, through to close and post-renewal data hygiene processes.
Develop and improve the operating cadences that guide the renewal business, with a focus on efficiency and process improvement.
Define, maintain, and evolve retention reporting with cross-functional partners, including gross and net retention, churn and downgrade analysis, and the drivers behind each.
Partner with Revenue Technology, Revenue Analytics, Finance, and other stakeholders to improve Salesforce and the systems and data flows supporting customer relationship management (CRM), subscription and entitlement records, quoting, orders, billing, and reporting. Translate business needs into requirements, validate solutions, and strengthen data quality and operational controls.
Simplify and scale the renewal motion through automation, standardized workflows, alerts, playbooks, and self-service insights that reduce manual effort and improve execution consistency.
Support renewals planning and capacity management, including segmentation implementation, coverage models, productivity assumptions, capacity modeling, supporting target setting, and scenario planning.
Own and mature the Renewal Operations case-management program, including intake, triage, routing, service-level visibility, resolution, and root-cause analysis. Requests may include user migrations, de-duplication, Renewal Manager ownership changes, compensation exceptions, and Salesforce or data issues.
Raise the operating standard in your domain by documenting processes, mentoring others on how the renewal motion works, and contributing to broader Revenue Operations initiatives that need the renewals perspective.
What you'll bring
Experience in Renewals Operations, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, management consulting, strategy, or a similar analytical and problem-solving role, with ownership of operational improvements and cross-functional initiatives.
Hands-on experience with both consumption and subscription renewal motions, including renewal forecasting, retention reporting, and the contractual and process mechanics that govern how renewals close.
Strong critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills. You can break down ambiguous problems into clear workstreams and move them forward.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills. You're highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, can build and validate models from scratch, and can translate analysis into clear recommendations and action. Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) or equivalent data-querying tools is preferred, not required.
Systems thinking and experience using Salesforce for pipeline and renewals reporting. You understand how changes in one part of the go-to-market motion affect others, including how CRM, subscription or entitlement records, quoting, and billing relate to one another, and you design solutions accordingly.
Sound commercial judgment and an understanding of renewal complexity, including co-terming, amendments, expansions, downgrades, price changes, multiyear agreements, auto-renewals, procurement requirements, and approval policies.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills. You build trust with stakeholders at all levels, including field teams and senior leadership, and influence without direct authority.
Curiosity, sound judgment, and a bias toward action. You learn new domains and tools quickly, move from insight to implementation, and follow through until improvements are adopted and sustained.
About the team
You'll work within CX Operations, partnering closely with Renewals and Customer Success leadership, Sales, Finance, Revenue Technology, and Revenue Analytics. These partnerships connect renewal execution with the processes, systems, and data that support it. In GitLab's all-remote, values-driven environment, documentation, iteration, and cross-functional partnership are core to how you'll work.

A QUICK RUN-DOWN OF THE JOB
We're looking for a Data Product Lead to own the direction and output of LI.FI http://LI.FI's Data team. This is partially a hands-on role with a clear focus on analytics and product thinking. You'll spend a significant portion of your time on the data yourself: deep-dive analyses, dashboards, business cases, and sharing insights that shape how we make decisions across the company. The rest of your time goes to product thinking, prioritisation, stakeholder management, and leading the team.
You'll report to our CTO and line manage the Data team, partnering closely with our Data Tech Lead who owns the technical and infrastructure side. Think of it as the PM-and-tech-lead model: you own the what and why, your tech lead partner owns the how. Together you set the roadmap and priorities for the team.
Please note: This role is remote within the EMEA region. Your application will not be considered otherwise.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the Data team's priorities, intake, and triage; run team rituals including planning, reviews, and workshops
- Do hands-on analytics work: deep-dives, dashboards, business cases, and recommendations that change decisions, including data inputs for the weekly report and Monthly Business Review
- Partner with Product Managers to embed tracking and success metrics into PRDs, and align the data roadmap with product roadmaps
- Translate business questions from stakeholders into clear specs, metric definitions, and acceptance criteria the team can deliver
- Act as the quality gate on analyses, dashboards, and datasets before they reach internal or external stakeholders
- Coach and develop the Data team, levelling up team members on problem framing, communication, and stakeholder management
- Partner with the Data Tech Lead to co-own the roadmap, making sure infrastructure work serves real business needs
WHAT MAKES A GOOD CANDIDATE
- 6+ years in data analytics, analytics engineering, or data product work, with experience leading people or setting priorities for a small team
- Expert SQL: you can pull, validate, and challenge data independently, without relying on engineers
- Hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in BI tools (Omni, Superset, or similar)
- Strong business and product mindset: you use data to find revenue, pricing, or growth opportunities, not just to answer questions
- Enough technical depth to be a real partner to data engineers; comfortable discussing warehouse design, pipelines, data models, and trade-offs
- Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across product, engineering, finance, BD, and C-suite
- Strong data storytelling: you adapt the message to technical and non-technical audiences
- Crypto/DeFi domain experience: ideally in a data role at a crypto company, or demonstrable deep understanding of the space (cross-chain, DEX aggregation, bridges, or wallets)
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift and you'll need to build some of the playbook as you go
NICE TO HAVE
- Python
- dbt and dimensional modelling
- Semantic layer design and metric definition management
- AI-readiness: structuring data, metrics, and documentation so they can be reliably consumed by LLMs and agents
- ML modelling experience (forecasting, classification, anomaly detection)
- On-chain data and tooling (e.g. Dune Analytics)
- Exposure to streaming data (e.g. Kafka)
We encourage you to apply if you feel your experience and skills equip you for this job but are not listed here!
COMPANY CULTURE
- Embracing the differences
- Embrace your own differences
- Respect and welcome the unique qualities of others
- See others’ differences as an opportunity to grow

- Adapt - grow with the experience
- Have fun together
- Take the time to get to know and understand each other better
- Don’t take yourself too seriously and keep it light-hearted
- Fun should be coming from a place of love and respect
WHAT YOU’LL GET
- Annual company offsites — we've explored Thailand, Vietnam, Morocco, and Greece together. Next stop for 2027: TBD!
- 30 days of PTO
- Flexible remote days
- Flexible working hours
- Equity participation from day 1
- Entitlement to work computer (choice of equipment)
- An annual 1,000€ personal development budget once you have worked 6+ months (pro-rated the first year)
- A one-time 1,000€ remote budget to use on coworking, office setup, etc.
If you join us as an independent contractor, you’re only entitled to the first five benefits of this list.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic's legal team operates at the frontier of some of the most consequential legal and regulatory questions of our time — from landmark copyright matters to first-of-their-kind AI regulatory frameworks emerging across dozens of jurisdictions simultaneously. As we scale, the volume and complexity of our discovery and information governance obligations are growing rapidly.
We are looking for a Discovery Technical Operations Specialist to join our Litigation and Regulatory team and help build out Anthropic's discovery operations from the ground up, support active matters, and help drive information governance maturation. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a critical function at one of the most closely watched companies in the world. You will work hand-in-hand with our discovery leads, litigation and regulatory counsel, outside counsel, discovery vendors, and cross-functional partners such as Security and IT to manage retention, preservation, collection, and production of electronically stored information (ESI) across active matters. Beyond matter-level support and programmatic development of discovery systems and processes, you will also help execute the development of Anthropic's broader information governance program, including data classification standards and defensible disposal practices that keep pace with a rapidly scaling AI company's evolving data landscape.
The right person for this role will be equal parts technical operator and operational project manager.
Key responsibilities
Build and operate discovery operations across the full EDRM lifecycle (preservation, collection, processing, hosting, review, and production including for novel and AI-specific data types)
Support the operational design and execution of the legal hold program including custodian identification workflows, hold issuance and tracking, periodic re-notification, custodian acknowledgments, and defensible release
Support and improve the discovery technology stack including RelativityOne, in-place preservation and collection tooling across Slack, Google Workspace, and internal systems, and supporting analytics and review platforms including configuration, access controls, templates, and reusable workspaces
Partner with discovery team, in-house counsel, outside counsel, vendors, and internal technical teams; coordinate matter execution, status, and escalations
Partner with Security, IT, and product engineering to support Anthropic's data landscape, instrument new data sources for hold and collection, and ensure each ESI source has a governed retention, hold, and disposition path
Improve and support the operational layer of Anthropic's information governance program: retention schedule execution, classification rollout, defensible disposition workflows, and data-inventory maintenance in close partnership with the Discovery Lead and information governance stakeholders
Integrate AI and automation into the EDRM lifecycle: generative-AI-assisted review, advanced analytics, custom Relativity applications, and agentic workflow automation for intake, hold tracking, status reporting, and internal documentation
Support active litigation, government investigations, and regulatory inquiries as the operational counterpart on the matter team coordinating workstreams, managing vendor execution, and surfacing operational risk and cost trade-offs to counsel
Design and build internal tools to streamline and manage critical discovery workflows (legal holds, preservation, collection, ECA, and production), and develop dashboards that report on data management trends and cross-matter discovery status
Minimum qualifications
Hands-on discovery experience across the full EDRM lifecycle, with demonstrated ownership of operations on complex matters in an in-house legal department, government agency, law firm, or vendor
A track record of supporting complex discovery operations functions
Working knowledge of major discovery platforms (Anthropic uses RelativityOne), including administration, search and analytics, AI/TAR workflows, custom application development, and AI workflows
Strong understanding of the Federal Rules on discovery and evidence, ESI preservation obligations, and proportionality, with the operational fluency to translate those obligations into workflows
Experience operating discovery across modern enterprise data sources Slack, Google Workspace, mobile, and engineering systems and an understanding of how to bring novel data sources under preservation and collection
Strong project management instincts and a track record of running multiple concurrent matters and programs under tight deadlines, with composure and precision
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical discovery and operational concepts clearly to attorneys, executives, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred qualifications
6+ years of hands-on discovery experience across the full EDRM lifecycle
Experience standing up discovery operations at a young and/or fast-scaling company, particularly in the context of new kinds of ESI
Experience embedding with engineering or product teams to define discovery and information governance requirements, prioritize roadmap, and ship hold-capable and collection-capable features into core enterprise tools
Hands-on integration of generative AI and agentic workflows (e.g., Claude, Claude Code, or similar) into operational discovery work project tracking, status reporting, internal documentation, custom tooling, and script maintenance
Technical fluency working with engineering teams and modern infrastructure APIs, cloud (AWS, GCP), data pipelines, and version control and comfort writing, reading, or maintaining small scripts where useful
Experience operating information governance programs at scale including retention scheduling, data classification, defensible disposition, and data mapping across heterogeneous enterprise data sources
Experience with applying AI and automation to discovery operations, including generative AI for review, agentic automation, and operational tooling for hold tracking, reporting, and documentation
A collaborative, hands-on orientation, with integrity and genuine curiosity about building operational programs in a fast-moving environment

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

About Anthropic

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager for a critical pillar of our Program Management function: Commercial Operations. This role will transform our commercial infrastructure into a revenue accelerator, building and executing the operational leverage that enables Anthropic to maintain velocity as we scale. You'll be responsible for managing and enhancing processes that support rapid product growth. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational excellence, someone who can both envision where we need to be in 12 months and build the infrastructure to get us there.
Responsibilities
Play a central role on the team that runs Anthropic's programs for Commercial Launches — helping evolve an established launch motion into a scalable, well-instrumented program that keeps pace with an accelerating product roadmap
Run launches end-to-end through the Commercial launch process: lead intake and scoping for your portfolio of launches, translate each into its commercial-readiness requirements (pricing, billing, tax, marketplace, compliance and selling motions), and collaborate with product teams to develop paths to launch
Identify where launches slow down today and drive resolution to prevent them from recurring: propose and implement process and system changes, clarify ownership, drive completion across partner teams like, Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and GTM.
Build specific program components that don't exist yet — launch tiering, readiness criteria, playbooks, templates, SLAs; and develop training that shifts programs from late-stage gatekeeper to early-stage partner
Take ownership of major program-improvement workstreams such as instrumentation (pipeline visibility, readiness scorecards, guides, throughput and cycle-time metrics) or workflow tooling and automation (intake, tracking, approvals, status) in partnership with Engineering and systems teams
Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, and GTM teams to design clear interfaces and processes that span multiple teams
You may be a good fit if you have
Experience building and running new product introduction processes
Experience building capabilities and solutions that enable launching in new ways, from pricing to geographies
10+ years of experience in operations, with demonstrated success in billing, payments, or commercial operations (high-volume SaaS experience a plus)
Strong working knowledge of billing systems, subscription management, and payments platforms
Proven track record of building and scaling operational programs in high-growth environments — taking things from 0-1 and then scaling beyond
Willing to roll up your sleeves and do the operational work of building while also leading a team
Experience with automation initiatives and partnering with engineering teams to build operational tooling
Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to demonstrate ROI on operational programs
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across GTM, Finance, Product, and Engineering
Adaptability and comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you need to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
Excitement about building the operational backbone that enables Anthropic to stay on the exponential

ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.
THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a Legal Operations Lead to join us as the first dedicated legal operations hire at Modal. You’ll own the systems, records, and workflows that let a small legal team keep pace with a high-growth tech company, and you’ll have an opportunity to build most of them from scratch.
This is a great fit for a highly organized, systems-oriented operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to build operational foundations, not just maintain them. You’ll report to our General Counsel and collaborate closely with the Finance, BizOps, GTM, and People teams.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
- Build and maintain contract operations, including designing the contract lifecycle management workflows and approval logic, and continuing to iterate and improve those processes
- Design a legal intake process to support and route legal requests from internal stakeholders
- Make the legal function faster with AI, and build and configure tooling to make us more efficient
- Manage corporate administration and record-keeping, including Board and stockholder matters, signature coordination, and building a knowledge management system and database
- Be the point person for corporate compliance, including entity management, foreign and domestic qualifications and filings, and coordination with registered agents
- Support stock administration and cap table hygiene
- Manage outside counsel and legal spend
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have 5+ years in legal operations, contract operations, or a corporate paralegal role, preferably at a high-growth technology company
- You’ve built and documented processes from the ground up, not just executed existing ones
- You have experience configuring workflows and templates within Ironclad or a similar CLM
- You have experience with AI tools and good instincts about where they help and where they quietly introduce risk
- You have sound judgment about what to handle and what to escalate
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Exposure to corporate and equity administration
- Familiarity with Carta or a similar equity administration platform

ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Employee Lifecycle team makes sure every Ramp employee has a great experience, from their first day through their last and through every change in between. As Sr. Analyst, Employee Lifecycle Data, you'll own and look after the employee data behind all of it. You'll keep our Workday data accurate and well structured, and you'll make sure it flows correctly into the systems that depend on it.
This is a new role in its current scope. You'll own employee data changes from start to finish, manage the data structure that shapes our org, and set up reconciliation and error reporting across our integrations. We're looking for someone who gets the details right, finds the root cause when data breaks, and builds processes that scale as Ramp grows.
We're moving to Workday on January 1, and we want this person on board before go-live so they can run our employee data changes from day one.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Employee data changes
- Process and approve role changes like transfers, promotions, manager and title changes, plus relocations (using our comp calculator for basic geo adjustments and partnering with Global Mobility on more complex moves)
- Own intake and completion of one-off data changes through Serval (our ticketing system) tickets, meeting SLAs and giving employees a clear, helpful experience
- Review and approve data change transactions to protect data quality
- Support internal mobility cycles and position management in Workday (and Ashby)
Bulk changes
- Own bulk data changes from start to finish, including reorgs, comp cycles and mass updates: prepare and validate the data, run the loads and confirm the results
- Build review steps and checklists that make large changes repeatable and low-risk, and partner with HRIS on EIB templates and system-level controls
Data quality, reconciliation and stewardship
- Build and run regular reconciliation between Workday and downstream systems, including benefits providers and international payroll
- Monitor integration errors, find root causes and fix data and process gaps with HRIS, Payroll, Benefits and vendor partners, escalating system or integration fixes to HRIS with clear root-cause analysis
- Define and document data standards, ownership and controls for employee data, and run regular audits to find and fix issues in partnership with HRIS team
- Be the go-to expert on how employee data works at Ramp, and help teammates and partners understand it
WHAT YOU NEED
- 2-5+ years of experience in HR operations, HRIS, or HR data roles
- Experience with data changes in Workday HCM, including the ability to manage employee data throughout the full employee lifecycle - processing employee changes, organizational updates, job changes, and audits.
- A solid understanding of payroll and benefits data, and of how HRIS integrations feed those systems.
- A track record of building reconciliation, audit or error-reporting processes from scratch
- Strong attention to detail, a habit of checking your work before and after changes, and sound judgment with sensitive, confidential employee data
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills for data analysis, validation and reconciliation, plus sound judgment when using AI tools—knowing when to rely on them and when human review is essential
- Clear communication with employees and stakeholders at every level
- A process-improvement mindset: you fix the underlying cause of what breaks repeatedly, and build scalable processes that uphold data standards while enabling the business
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience at a fast-growing company where the org structure changes often
- Experience with Serval, JIRA, or similar service desk tools
- Experience with Workday reporting
- SQL skills

Perplexity is seeking a Director of Events to own our external events worldwide: the ones we host, the stages we speak on, and the ones we sponsor. You will set the strategy, run production, manage the budget, and build the team. If you have produced a flagship and a dinner in the same week, know what a good sponsorship deal looks like, and want to build an events function from the ground up, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Own events. Hosted, speaking, sponsored. Strategy, budget, production, results.
- Set the calendar. Decide which events we run, which we speak at, and which we skip.
- Produce hosted events. Launches, dinners, summits, roadshows. Concept, programming, venue, vendors, run of show.
- Run the speaking program. Pick the stages. Prepare the speakers.
- Manage sponsorships. Negotiate terms, design our footprint, and account for the spend.
- Run field events with Sales. Get the right customers in the room. Make sure someone follows up.
- Be Perplexity. Our events should look and feel like our product. Work with Brand and Creative on every one.
- Lead the team. Equal parts IC and manager.
- Build the system. Playbooks, event tiers, intake, vendors, agencies, budgets.
- Measure. Attendance, coverage, pipeline, signups. Know which events worked and stop doing the ones that didn't.
- Be on site. For the events that matter, you are in the room.
Qualifications
- 12+ years producing events, including large hosted events, sponsorships, and field programs, ideally in-house at a technology company.
- Has built or led an events team.
- Has owned large budgets, agency relationships, and vendor contracts.
- Has negotiated sponsorships and knows a bad deal when they see one.
- Has run an executive speaking program: selecting stages, preparing speakers, managing the day.
- Knows production: run of show, staging, AV, registration, staffing, security, permits.
- Drives measurement. Has built event attribution and tracked brand sentiment, and reports what each event returned.
- Can partner with Sales, Product, Comms, Brand, Finance, Legal, and executives.
- Power user of AI tools. Most of your work already runs through them, and you can show us how.
- Based in San Francisco or New York. Willing to travel internationally.

Artificial Intelligence. Actual Impact.
At Docebo, we’re using AI to change how people learn at work—and we mean actually change it. We’re an AI-powered learning platform that helps organizations create, deliver, and manage training all in one place. But our real mission goes deeper: we help teams move faster, work smarter, and focus on the work that truly matters. Our platform is built with intelligent, time-saving tools that personalize learning, eliminate busywork, and turn training from a checkbox into a superpower. The result? Better experiences for learners and real results for businesses.
We’re shaping the future of learning with a team that isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo. If you're excited by the idea of using AI to make work-life better for real people–you’ll feel right at home here. And it’s not just what we build, it’s how we show up. At Docebo, our values aren’t just posters on the wall—they guide how we work every day. We call it the Docebo Heart: trust by default, assume positive intent, and create space for different perspectives to thrive.
So… what are you waiting for? Join 900+ Docebians around the world and help us reinvent the way people learn, because learning never stops.
THE ADVENTURE AHEAD 🚀
Our Salesforce team is at the center of how Docebo sells, renews, and serves customers. We're investing in how it operates, and this is a net-new role we're adding to lead that change. We have strong senior technical talent on the team — what we're adding is a product owner who can set direction, manage stakeholders, and give that talent well-scoped work to build.
You'll own the backlog and the priorities. You'll define the intake and process the team runs on. And you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with our senior architects and admins as an advisor and partner — not to out-engineer them, but to make sure the team is solving the right problems in the right order, with the business bought in.
THE DAY-TO-DAY 🛠️
- The product backlog and priorities. Turn business needs into clear problem statements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Prioritize with stakeholders so the team always knows what's next and why.
- Stakeholder management. Be the connective tissue between the Salesforce team and the business — Revenue Operations, Marketing, and Finance. Manage expectations, negotiate trade-offs, and bring the team into solution design early instead of receiving pre-baked requests.
- Process and ways of working. Define and stand up how the team intakes, prioritizes, and delivers work. Set the standard for a good request and make it stick, so work enters the team ready to build.
- Partnership with senior technical leads. Work with the team's architects and admins as an advisor and thought partner. You bring the product and process lens; they own the technical design. Together you keep the org healthy and the roadmap realistic.
- AI-driven innovation. Champion how the team uses AI to work smarter — from AI-assisted ticket triage and intake scoring to identifying where automation and AI can improve how Docebo runs on Salesforce.
- A seat at the table. Represent the Salesforce team when the business evaluates new tools, so decisions that affect the platform are made deliberately, not discovered later.
YOUR SUPERPOWERS ⚡
- Platform Depth: Proven experience as a Salesforce Architect, Senior Admin, or Business Analyst with the hands-on expertise needed to speak fluent platform and earn instant respect with technical leads.
- Product Ownership Mastery: Strong track record of running backlogs, scoping airtight requirements, prioritizing high-value features, and confidently saying "no" with strategic reasoning.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Exceptional ability to align competing business priorities across departments, negotiate trade-offs with senior leadership, and keep everyone bought into the plan.
- Process Architecture: Demonstrated success building lightweight, effective operating frameworks that bring structure and clarity to team workflows without adding bureaucratic bloat.
- Impactful Communication: Talent for translating technical complexities into business-friendly language for executives while keeping developers clear on the mission and priorities.
- AI-Forward Mindset: Natural curiosity and drive to leverage emerging AI solutions to optimize team operations and CRM efficiency.
- Governance Savvy: Deep comfort navigating regulated environments, including SOX controls, structured deployment schedules, and strict UAT standards.
BONUS POINTS 🌟
- Certified Expertise: Holding active Salesforce certifications (e.g., Administrator, Platform App Builder, or Architect track credentials).
- RevOps Synergy: Direct experience acting as the designated product owner partnering with a fast-paced Revenue Operations organization.
- Revenue Cloud Knowledge: Hands-on familiarity with Salesforce Revenue Cloud (CPQ/Billing) or leading complex billing system migrations.
- Applied AI Experience: Practical background implementing AI-driven workflows or tools within CRM or delivery environments.

Kit https://kit.com/ is the email marketing platform experts choose to grow their audience, deepen their relationships, and build a business around the work they love. For coaches, YouTubers, authors, podcasters, and other creatives, there isn't a better marketing hub to rely on to grow audiences, automate email marketing, and sell digital products — all within one platform.
More importantly, there isn't a team more committed to helping creators earn a living. We're on a mission to help creators earn $1 billion using our creator marketing platform. We have always been 100% independent and 100% remote.
We are proud to have built a product that our customers love, and we look for people who have enthusiasm and belief in our mission, vision, and values to join our team. We're also embracing AI thoughtfully — both in how we build and how we hire to ensure our team is adaptable, innovative, and ready for what's next.
THE ROLE
Kit is growing, and so are the legal complexities of our business. We're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to help us navigate them with clarity, speed, and commercial savvy. You'll serve as in-house legal subject matter expert, partnering closely with the executive team to lead product legal strategy and execution—especially around privacy, data, AI and compliance, commercial contracts, customer security requirements, and scalable legal support for our teams. A key focus will be helping Kit respond to a growing volume of privacy questions—particularly as one of our newer products, Subscriber Signals https://kit.com/features/signals, evolves by building practical, repeatable systems that provide timely and consistent guidance at scale.
You'll help shape the legal backbone of a fast-moving tech company with multiple revenue streams—including SaaS, digital commerce, paid reccomendations, and advertising—and a rapidly growing platform for creators. To advise the business effectively, you'll develop a deep understanding of Kit, SparkLoop https://sparkloop.app/, Subscriber Signals, and how creators get value from our connected ecosystem of apps and tools. You'll be at the center of complex, cross-functional problems where product, business, and legal strategy meet—all in service of helping creators build more valuable businesses.
YOUR SUPPORT SYSTEM
You'll report to our Chief Operating Officer, Brian Bevel https://www.linkedin.com/in/brian-bevel-92895ba/, and partner regularly with leaders across product, sales, finance, and people operations. You'll own our core legal work in-house, reduce the need for outside counsel, and know when specialized outside counsel is truly needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- First week: Get up to speed on our business model, current goals, and products. Learn about the product, SparkLoop, Subscriber Signals, and how creators get value from our connected ecosystem of apps and tools. Meet key internal stakeholders and our external counsel. Review our most common legal agreements, privacy questions, and customer security requests to assess where we have risk, opportunity, ambiguity, or recurring work that can be handled more efficiently.
- First month: Get your arms around active data processing, privacy, AI, and other legal initiatives, and build a "what's on deck" view of upcoming legal needs. Map the recurring privacy support questions arising across Kit—particularly around Subscriber Signals, and begin designing a scalable intake, guidance, and escalation system. Partner with Sales, Sponsorships, Security, Product, and Engineering to move faster without cutting corners. Take ownership of GDPR and data compliance vetting and establish a clear process for responding to customer security questionnaires.
- First six months: You’re the go-to partner for legal considerations across the business, particularly for our product, engineering, security, and GTM teams. Build scalable systems—such as playbooks, templates, intake processes, and self-service guidance—for answering recurring privacy, data-use, and compliance questions. Partner throughout the product lifecycle on initiatives and feature releases, with particular attention to Subscriber Signals and our connected ecosystem of products. Prioritize our biggest legal risks, reduce unnecessary reliance on outside counsel, and streamline legal workflows to increase speed, confidence, and self-service.
- First year: Help Kit operate at a higher level of legal maturity across privacy, compliance, product counsel, commercial contracts, and security support. Establish durable systems that allow teams to answer common questions independently while escalating higher-risk matters appropriately. Help us treat privacy, data, and compliance as strategic enablers—not just boxes to check—and significantly reduce our reliance on outside counsel for work we can handle effectively in-house.
WHAT WILL S.E.T. YOU UP FOR SUCCESS
Skills
- Deep expertise in data, compliance, and product—this is where you'll spend most of your time.
- Strong ability to navigate U.S. and European data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), including familiarity with data controller vs. processor distinctions and how they shape vendor and product decisions.
- Ability to translate privacy and compliance requirements into scalable playbooks, templates, intake processes, and self-service guidance
- Experience supporting customer security questionnaires and partnering effectively with security, sales, product, and engineering teams
- Familiarity with SOC 2 Type II and the legal, privacy, and customer requirements associated with it, even if you haven't directly owned a certification process
- Understanding of intellectual property law, especially related to brand, content, and software
- Understanding of commercial contracts—you'll become the go-to person for these at Kit.
- Clear communicator and trusted advisor—able to simplify complexity and help others make informed decisions
Experiences
- Experience as in-house counsel at a tech company or serving a tech portfolio at a top-tier firm that's well-known for their work with startups (e.g., Fenwick & West, Cooley)
- J.D. from an accredited law school in the United States
- Active member in good standing of a State Bar Association
Traits
- Strategic thinker who sees legal as a lever, not a blocker
- Deeply curious and business-oriented—you start by understanding the goals, then explore the smartest paths to get there.
- Collaborative partner who can navigate conflict productively
- Deep belief that creator success is our success—you consider both Kit and our customers in every recommendation
- A "how might we" problem-solver who finds creative, business-aligned paths through legal challenges
WHAT WON'T SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS
- Needing a team of in-house peers or co-counsel to pressure-test every decision—you'll be our sole in-house legal expert, with outside counsel available as needed
- A strongly risk-averse or "no-before-yes" mindset—we need you to help us move, not just stop us from tripping
- Thinking in a legal vacuum—if you're not factoring in our goals, numbers, or creators, your advice won't land
- Struggling with speed or ownership—if you prefer long timelines or wait to be told what to do, this won't be the right environment. We move quickly and expect people to take initiative, spot problems, and drive solutions.

An Overview about the Role
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the Lead-to-Opportunity (L2O) domain within our Salesforce and GTM technology ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of marketing operations, sales process, and technology owning the roadmap for how leads are captured, scored, routed, and converted into pipeline, and how our broader GTM tech stack supports that motion.
This is a foundational hire one of the first product managers on a team actively transforming from a reactive BSA model into a proactive, roadmap-driven product organization. You'll be both an individual contributor driving your own domain and a mentor helping BSAs grow into product manager roles. You'll have direct influence over how we shape the team's future operating model.
What You'll Do
Internal Product Roadmap Ownership
Define, own, and maintain the multi-quarter internal product roadmap for the Lead-to-Opportunity domain covering lead capture, enrichment, scoring, routing, conversion, opportunity and the broader GTM technology stack integrated with Salesforce
Translate business strategy from Marketing, Sales Development, RevOps, and GTM leadership into sequenced, prioritized system capabilities with clear outcomes and success metrics
Define the domain's strategic priorities each quarter and half, balancing net-new capability delivery, stabilization, and technical debt reduction with transparent trade-off frameworks
Drive quarterly planning ceremonies, partnering with Engineering Managers and BSAs to align capacity with roadmap commitments
Own domain-level documentation: process maps, current-vs-future state lead lifecycle flows, and decision logs that keep stakeholders and the team aligned on scope and ownership
Stakeholder Partnership & Requirements Translation
Serve as the primary product voice for all L2O and GTM Systems initiatives, partnering closely with Marketing, Marketing Operations, SDR/BDR leadership, Sales, and RevOps
Lead discovery, requirements workshops, and business process design sessions translating complex GTM and marketing operations requirements into actionable system specifications
Own the decision layer between "what the business needs" and "what engineering builds," resolving ambiguity with structured frameworks and documented decisions
Run structured stakeholder alignment sessions to surface trade-offs, build consensus, and drive open decisions to closure rather than letting them linger
Represent the domain in cross-team planning and leadership reviews able to explain technical constraints to business stakeholders and business context to engineers
Team Mentorship & Capability Building
Act as a product craft mentor and senior thought partner for the BSA team, actively upskilling analysts in product thinking, requirements structuring, acceptance criteria definition, and roadmap communication
Model and codify what "good" looks like reusable templates, rituals (backlog grooming, roadmap reviews), and a rubric BSAs can grow against
Give BSAs increasing ownership over pieces of the roadmap as they develop, with regular feedback and structured check-ins
Partner with leadership to evolve the team's operating model from project-execution-focused to product-thinking-led, raising the bar for how EntApps delivers business value
Program Strategy & Delivery Oversight
Lead initiatives end-to-end: discovery, requirements, prioritization, solution design review, UAT, launch, and post-launch measurement
Write and maintain clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and lead-flow and data-flow diagrams that engineering and admins can build against without ambiguity
Manage a healthy, well-groomed backlog intake requests from Marketing and Sales Development, triage by impact and effort, and defend prioritization decisions to stakeholders
Define success metrics per initiative (lead response time, routing accuracy, lead-to-opportunity conversion rate, data quality, SDR/BDR adoption) and report on outcomes, not just delivery
Identify and de-risk dependencies across adjacent domains campaign operations, data enrichment vendors, opportunity handoff to sales before they block delivery
Own UAT strategy and acceptance criteria in collaboration with BSAs, ensuring system changes meet business requirements before production release
Systems Architecture Collaboration
Partner with Enterprise Architects and Engineering Managers on Salesforce and MarTech integration design marketing automation platform to Salesforce sync, data enrichment pipelines, lead scoring and routing engines, ensuring choices hold up to governance, scale, and future roadmap needs
Bring informed opinions on GTM platform architecture trade-offs based on deep domain knowledge
Stay current on platform roadmaps for Salesforce Sales Cloud and connected MarTech tools, identifying opportunities to leverage native capabilities before custom builds
Maintain domain-level R&R clarity, who owns what across US/India technical managers, BSAs, and adjacent pods and update as team and scope evolve
Ability to engage deeply with engineering and architecture teams on API design, data modeling, and integration patterns.
What You'll Bring
7+ years in Salesforce product management, business systems analysis, or Marketing/Revenue Operations technology roles, with demonstrated growth into product ownership
Strong working knowledge of Lead-to-Opportunity processes; lead capture, scoring, routing, and conversion and how they connect marketing execution to sales pipeline
Hands-on familiarity with the GTM technology stack: Salesforce Sales Cloud plus marketing automation platforms (Marketo, HubSpot, or Pardot), lead scoring and routing tools, and data enrichment or intent providers
Good Understanding of quoting process
Demonstrated ability to own and communicate multi-quarter internal product roadmaps to senior business and technology stakeholders
Proven experience leading initiatives end-to-end with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities, especially across Marketing and Sales
Sufficient technical fluency to engage meaningfully with engineering on API design, data model decisions, and integration trade-offs — without needing to write code
Experience mentoring or upskilling analysts and BSAs, you enjoy developing people, not just managing tickets
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to represent technical trade-offs to non-technical executives and translate business asks into clear technical requirements
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving structure where none exists
Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, data governance and compliance for lead data, or prior people-management experience
About the Team
You'll be one of the first product managers on a team actively transforming from a reactive BSA function into a proactive, roadmap-driven product organization. The Lead-to-Opportunity domain sits at the top of GitLab's revenue funnel; the quality of data, routing, and conversion here affects every downstream system and every seller. Getting this right is not an IT problem; it's a revenue problem. You'll have direct influence over how we shape the team's future operating model and how the next generation of BSAs grows into product managers.

About the Role:
We’re building a Finance function that can scale with a fast-growing company, and we’re looking for a Financial Analyst who wants to help build it with us. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on accounts payable, expense coding, payment operations, and financial reporting. You’ll help make sure invoices are coded correctly, vendors are paid on time, payment information is accurate, and the Finance team has clear visibility into upcoming cash requirements and company spending.
You’ll also help us move away from manual processes wherever possible—using technology, automation, and better workflows to make Finance easier for everyone across the company.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the AP workflow. Manage invoices from intake through approval and payment, making sure everything is accurate, properly documented, and moving on schedule.
- Keep our financial data clean. Code expenses across the right GL accounts, departments, cost centers, projects, and reporting categories so our financial reporting is reliable.
- Run payment cycles. Prepare payment batches and clear, concise payment reports for Finance leadership, highlighting upcoming obligations, exceptions, and anything requiring attention.
- Stay ahead of what we owe. Maintain AP aging and vendor schedules and help Finance understand upcoming cash requirements.
- Solve problems before they become problems. Investigate duplicate invoices, missing approvals, incorrect coding, vendor discrepancies, and payment issues—and own them through resolution.
- Partner across the company. Work with teams across the business to make invoice approvals, expense coding, and purchasing processes easier and more efficient.
- Support the close. Help with month-end AP reconciliations, accruals, expense analysis, and supporting schedules.
- Turn transactions into insights. Prepare reporting around company spending, vendors, payments, outstanding liabilities, and expense trends.
- Automate the boring stuff. Identify repetitive manual work and help implement better workflows, integrations, and automation.
- Grow beyond AP. As you develop, take on projects across cash forecasting, budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, and finance systems.
What You’ll Bring:
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related analytical role.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- A solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including AP, GL coding and reconciliations.
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills, plus confidence working with financial data.
- Exceptional attention to detail—you notice when something doesn’t look right and investigate why.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with people across different teams.
- A high degree of ownership. If something lands with you, you see it through.
- Curiosity about systems, automation, and how technology can make Finance better.
- Comfort operating in an environment where processes are still evolving.
Compensation:
The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is between $65,000-$80,000. When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered, including skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary and generous company equity
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance – 99.99% of premiums covered by Cantina
- 42 days of paid time off, including:
- 15 PTO days
- 10 sick days
- 15 company holidays
- 2 floating holidays
- Generous parental leave & fertility support
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Lifestyle spending account – $500/month to use however you’d like
- Complimentary lunch and snacks for in-office employees

We are hiring a
General Counsel
, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This role leads Canonical’s global Legal and Compliance function.
This is a unique opportunity for an
exceptional and commercially-minded senior lawyer
to lead the legal and compliance function of a profitable, fast-growing technology company that is privately held with the intention to list on a public exchange. We’re looking for someone with genuine fluency in the software industry and in open source dynamics, who can translate that insight into clear positions on licensing, commercial contracts and risk, and hands-on execution.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will
own Canonical's legal, regulatory and governance posture
and lead a distributed team across EMEA and the Americas. Your primary challenge will be to continue building both the team and the architecture: a management layer across two regions, and the governance, contracting and controls a public company needs, in an environment that regularly does things the industry has not done before. You will work closely with our product and engineering teams on licensing and IP questions, with the security function on customer assurance, and you will advise the Board and its committees directly.
In our selection process, we
prioritize intellect and judgement
alongside depth of practice. We are looking for someone with a strong academic background, an active licence to practice, and demonstrable exposure to a multilayered global operational environment.
Location:
This role will be based remotely in EMEA time zones.
The role entails
Leading the global Legal and Compliance function: setting it's structure, standards and priorities across EMEA and the Americas.
Building and managing a management capability: hire and develop managers, set objectives, review performance against a clear bar, and address under-performance directly.
Setting the operating cadence of the function: intake and prioritization of legal work, service expectations with internal clients, and reporting on workload and risk to the leadership team.
Owning public-market readiness on the legal side: corporate governance, group and entity structure, delegated authority, policies, disclosure controls and records, in partnership with Finance.
Advising the CEO, COO, CFO and the Board, and supporting in Board and committee meetings.
Owning the commercial contracting framework: standard templates, negotiating positions, and a deviation and escalation process that makes commitments visible before they are signed.
Leading intellectual property and open source licensing strategy, including copyleft, trademark and the terms on which Ubuntu and our products are distributed.
Owning the global compliance programme: data protection and privacy, export controls and trade compliance, anti-bribery and corruption, competition and AI regulation.
Managing litigation, disputes and regulatory engagement, together with the external counsel panel, its budget and its quality.
Advising on M&A, partnerships, strategic alliances and financing as the company grows.
What we are looking for in you
An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
A degree in law, or equivalent, and an active licence to practice in an EMEA or Americas jurisdiction.
Substantial senior in-house experience in a global technology or software business.
Proven experience leading a distributed legal team, including managing managers across regions and time zones.
A track record of setting and holding a high performance bar: hiring well, developing people, and dealing with under performance directly rather than waiting it out.
Experience building or restructuring an in-house legal function, including deciding what is retained, delegated and sent to external counsel.
Technology related experience of:
negotiating and owning commercial technology contracts, including enterprise software and subscriptions, channel and reseller agreements, hardware manufacturer agreements, cloud and services
advising on open source licensing, including permissive and copyleft licences, and familiarity with how open source communities operate.
Experience of, or demonstrable readiness for, public company governance: listing preparation, board and committee support, disclosure and controls.
Depth in at least two of: data protection and privacy, IP and trademark, export controls and trade, competition, or disputes.
Confidence to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback, hold colleagues accountable, and share ideas without hesitation.
Professional written and spoken English with excellent drafting and presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
International travel two to four times a year for company events up to two weeks long.
Nice-to-have skills
Experience taking a company through an IPO, or practicing as counsel inside a listed company.
A technical or engineering background, or fluency in how software is built and shipped.
Experience of a subscription or recurring-revenue business model.
Experience building or restructuring an in-house legal function.
A qualification in more than one jurisdiction.

We consider geographical location, experience, and performance in shaping compensation worldwide. We revisit compensation annually (and more often for graduates and associates) to ensure we recognize outstanding performance. In addition to base pay, we offer a performance-driven annual bonus or commission. We provide all team members with additional benefits which reflect our values and ideals. We balance our programs to meet local needs and ensure fairness globally.
Distributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person.
Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year.
Bi-annual compensation review.
Company recognition rewards.
40 days annual leave per annum, including public holidays and our All Company holiday periods.
Maternity and paternity leave.
