About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About the role
The Next.js team builds the open source framework that powers millions of applications and shapes how developers build for the web. Our work sits at the intersection of React, framework architecture, developer experience, infrastructure, performance, and production reliability.
We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to help build and lead a team working on Next.js. This is a hands-on player/coach role for an experienced engineer who wants to remain close to the code while helping a small team do its best work.
You will be an engineer first and a manager second. You will contribute directly to the framework, lead major technical initiatives, review code, debug complex production issues, and help make architectural decisions. You will also support the engineers around you through clear direction, thoughtful feedback, and practical coaching.
This is not a traditional people management role. You will spend the majority of your time on technical leadership and engineering execution. You should be comfortable owning difficult parts of the codebase while creating enough context and clarity for others to move quickly.
You will work closely with Product, Design, and engineers across Vercel to guide the evolution of Next.js across rendering, caching, routing, build systems, and developer tooling.
What you'll do
Build and ship Next.js:
Write production code, review pull requests, debug difficult issues, and contribute directly to the framework and its supporting systems.
Lead major technical initiatives:
Take ownership of complex projects from initial exploration through architecture, implementation, rollout, and production follow-through.
Set technical direction:
Make sound architectural decisions across rendering, caching, routing, build systems, runtime behavior, and developer tooling.
Stay close to real problems:
Investigate performance regressions, production failures, and developer pain points. Turn what you learn into practical improvements to the framework.
Raise the engineering bar:
Establish strong patterns for code quality, testing, performance, reliability, observability, and incremental delivery.
Coach through the work:
Help engineers grow through pairing, design reviews, code reviews, technical feedback, and shared ownership of challenging problems.
Provide focused people leadership:
Set clear expectations, give candid feedback, support career development, and help maintain a high-trust and accountable team.
Improve team execution:
Create lightweight planning and decision-making practices that clarify ownership, reduce unnecessary coordination, and help the team ship consistently.
Partner across Vercel:
Work with Product, Design, Infrastructure, Developer Experience, and other engineering teams so framework changes integrate cleanly across the Vercel platform.
Champion open source:
Work in public, engage thoughtfully with contributors, and balance community needs with the team’s product and technical priorities.
Help grow the team:
Participate in recruiting, assess technical talent, and help new engineers become productive in a complex codebase.
What you need
You have 8+ years of software engineering experience and remain highly effective as a hands-on engineer.
You have led engineers or small technical teams, whether as a team lead, tech lead, staff engineer, engineering manager, or founder.
You have recent experience writing, reviewing, and shipping production code. You are not looking to step away from engineering execution.
You have strong technical judgment across React, framework architecture, or the systems behind a large-scale open source project, including rendering, caching, routing, build tooling, and runtime behavior.
You can take a complex technical problem, form a clear point of view, write the critical code, and bring other engineers along with you.
You know when to lead from the front and when to create space for someone else to take ownership.
You have experience building products or infrastructure for developers and understand the quality, performance, stability, and usability standards this audience expects.
You think in systems and can guide a team toward clean abstractions, consistent framework patterns, and technical decisions that hold up at scale.
You are comfortable working through ambiguity and solving problems from first principles.
You balance speed and quality. You favor incremental delivery and real-world feedback while recognizing when foundational infrastructure requires deeper investment.
You communicate clearly in writing, facilitate productive technical debate, and make decisions when a path forward is needed.
You use AI tools in your own workflow and have informed opinions about how agentic products should work for developers.
Bonus if you have
Experience maintaining or contributing to a major open source project, particularly in the React or Next.js ecosystem.
Experience with compilers, bundlers, caching, rendering systems, or distributed infrastructure.
Experience leading a small, senior engineering team while continuing to make substantial individual contributions.
Experience forming a team or technical direction from zero to one.
Familiarity with the Next.js codebase, though this is not required.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive healthcare package.
Learning and growth support, including mentorship and opportunities to attend events that build your network and skills.
Flexible time off.
The equipment you need to do your role, plus a work-from-home budget to outfit your space.
The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $230,000 to $340,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location.
The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program, depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is building custom silicon for Claude. The hardware our models run on is one of the most direct levers we have on capability, cost, and reliability — and we've decided to take design authority over it ourselves.
We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end execution of our silicon, from architecture definition through tapeout, first-silicon bring-up, and production ramp. You'll be working alongside a small group of domain experts across front-end design, verification, physical design, DFT, analog/mixed-signal, foundry, and packaging. There is no process to inherit — you'll build the execution machinery this program runs on.
This is a partner-heavy program by design. You'll drive a portfolio of external engagements — ASIC design services, IP vendors, foundry, and OSAT. You should have shipped chips before, know what a realistic silicon schedule looks like and its failure modes, and be comfortable making consequential program calls without a large organization behind you. And because this is Anthropic, you'll have Claude as a collaborator — we expect the TPMs on this team to push hard on what AI-assisted program management can look like.
Key responsibilities
Own the integrated silicon program plan — architecture closure, RTL freeze, DV milestones, IP delivery, PD closure, DFT, tapeout, and post-silicon bring-up.
Drive external partner execution across ASIC design partners, IP vendors, foundry, and packaging/test.
Run technology and IP selection as a program: track candidate vendors and options, drive evaluations to a decision, and land the build / buy / license calls with engineering leadership.
Build the execution mechanisms a silicon team needs — milestone definitions, risk and dependency tracking, design reviews, release management, exec reporting — and keep them lightweight enough that engineers actually use them.
Manage the interface between silicon and its consumers: hardware systems for package/board/bring-up, and inference/kernels/compiler teams for hardware-software co-design, so trade-offs land as coordinated decisions rather than late surprises.
Own the post-silicon program — bring-up planning, ATE/test handoff, sample distribution, validation, and the path to production readiness.
Develop and share AI-assisted approaches to program management — schedule and dependency modeling, spec and milestone consistency checking, partner-deliverable tracking, status synthesis.
Minimum qualifications
8+ years in silicon/SoC program management, chip lead, or an equivalent role that owned a chip schedule end to end.
Direct ownership of at least one program that taped out and reached production, with milestones you can speak to in detail — including where it slipped and what you did about it.
Working technical fluency across the silicon lifecycle — front-end, DV, PD, DFT, foundry, packaging.
Experience running external silicon partners — ASIC houses, IP vendors, foundry, or OSAT — including SOW scoping, delivery tracking, and escalation.
Track record of building program mechanisms from scratch on an ambiguous, fast-moving effort.
Strong written communication — plans, reviews, and exec updates that many teams depend on.
Comfort operating with high autonomy and limited process on a highly dynamic program.
Preferred qualifications
Experience on ML accelerators, high-performance compute, networking, or other large, high-bandwidth SoCs at advanced process nodes.
Experience on a first-generation or early silicon program, including standing up flows, methodology, or vendor relationships from nothing.
Experience with both partner-executed and fully in-house programs, and a view on the trade-offs between them.
Prior hands-on engineering background in one or more silicon domains (design, DV, PD, DFT, or SI/PI).
Familiarity with the chip-package-system interface and co-design with a hardware systems team.
Experience with hardware-software co-design programs — working directly with compiler, kernel, or runtime teams.
Practical experience using AI tools in your own workflow, and clear ideas about where they help and where they don't.
BS/MS in EE, CE, CS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$365,000
—
$435,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.
To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit

directly for confirmed position openings.
How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

About the Role
We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Semantic Layer team in Bengaluru. You'll own the health, delivery, and growth of the team behind MetricFlow — building and coaching a group of engineers, setting technical direction in partnership with your leads, and ensuring one of the most important projects in the modern data stack keeps shipping with quality and momentum.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll spend most of your time growing people, running a healthy delivery process, and shaping strategy — but you'll stay close enough to the code and the architecture to make sound technical calls and earn the trust of a senior engineering team. You'll also be the steward of a public, community-facing open-source project, balancing the needs of internal roadmap and external contributors.
About the team
The Semantic Layer team owns the systems that turn dbt models into trusted, reusable business metrics. At the heart of this is
MetricFlow
— the open-source semantic engine that powers the dbt Semantic Layer. MetricFlow lets data teams define metrics once in code and consume them consistently across BI tools, notebooks, AI agents, and downstream applications.
This team is the steward of MetricFlow as an open-source project: shipping releases, reviewing community contributions, evolving the query compiler, and ensuring it integrates cleanly with the broader dbt ecosystem. The team works at the intersection of language design, query compilation, and distributed data execution — solving problems that directly shape how thousands of organizations measure their business.
What you'll do
Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers building MetricFlow — hiring, onboarding, career development, performance management, and day-to-day support.
Own delivery for the Semantic Layer team: planning, prioritization, execution, and predictable shipping of high-quality software.
Partner with your senior and staff engineers to set technical direction across metric definitions, query compilation, dimensional modeling, and SQL generation for multiple data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, and others).
Steward MetricFlow as an open-source project — set the bar for how the team triages issues, reviews external pull requests, manages releases, and engages the community on GitHub and in Slack.
Collaborate with engineering leaders across the dbt platform, dbt Core, and the Semantic Layer service to ensure MetricFlow integrates seamlessly with the rest of the dbt ecosystem.
Partner with product, design, and developer-relations counterparts to translate customer and community feedback into a clear, well-sequenced roadmap.
Drive engineering excellence in performance, reliability, and observability of metric query execution at scale.
Foster a culture of design docs, thoughtful code review, and durable engineering — shipping fast without shipping sloppy.
Skills we're looking for
Experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management, with a track record of shipping production systems.
A strong engineering foundation — you've built and shipped production software yourself and can engage credibly on architecture and technical tradeoffs with a senior team.
Familiarity with the technical domain: SQL fundamentals, how analytical query engines and data warehouses execute queries, and systems that involve parsing, compilation, or transformation (query planners, DSL compilers, type systems, or rule-based engines).
Solid grasp of software design principles: clean APIs, modularity, testability, and backwards compatibility — and the judgment to hold a team to them.
Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain complex tradeoffs clearly to engineers, product managers, and external community members.
Experience leading in a distributed, asynchronous team environment.
Nice to have
Experience leading or contributing to a popular open-source project, including managing a community of external contributors.
Familiarity with dbt, MetricFlow, LookML, Cube, or other semantic-layer technologies.
Background in data warehousing internals, query optimization, or analytical SQL dialects.
Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and release engineering for Python libraries.
Exposure to building developer-facing APIs, SDKs, or CLIs.
Why join us
Impact at scale: Your team's code will run inside the data platforms of tens of thousands of companies, including some of the world's largest enterprises.
Open-source ownership: You'll lead the team behind a foundational open-source project — visible, reviewed, and used by the global data community.
A team that values craft: We invest in design docs, code review, and durable engineering. We ship fast, but we don't ship sloppy.
Competitive compensation: Market-leading salary, equity, comprehensive health insurance, generous time off, learning and wellness stipends, and home-office support.

Anthropic runs some of the largest AI training and inference workloads in the world, across multiple hardware platforms. We work from the chip level up with our silicon partners, and we are now deepening that investment by building a custom silicon team.
You will be one of a small number of people covering a large surface. We are opening searches across the key domains below, and we are interested in candidates whose center of gravity sits in any of them:
Front-end design
Pre-silicon verification
Physical design
Design for test
Analog and mixed-signal
Technology and foundry
CAD and design infrastructure
Packaging, signal integrity, and power integrity
This is a role for someone who has shipped silicon, has a realistic relationship with schedules, and is comfortable making consequential calls without a large organization behind them.
Key responsibilities
Take part in end to end activities for the program: strategy, specification, execution and the technical bar.
Write the specifications and interface definitions that others design against and keep them coherent as the architecture converges
Make and own directional calls: technology and IP selection, where we build versus buy versus license, and where we take design authority versus rely on partners
Build and share AI-assisted approaches to the code-like parts of your domain, and help the team learn what Claude can genuinely accelerate
Contribute to the architecture and micro-architecture discussion from your domain's perspective, including the tradeoffs your area imposes on the rest of the chip
Partner with Anthropic's inference, performance, kernels, and infrastructure teams on hardware-software co-design, and with our hardware systems team on bring-up and integration
Support first-silicon bring-up and debug when it arrives, regardless of which domain you came in through
Minimum qualifications
Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one silicon domain: front-end design, pre-silicon verification, physical design, design for test, analog and mixed-signal, technology and foundry, design infrastructure, or packaging and signal/power integrity
Direct personal contribution to silicon that taped out and shipped, with ownership you can speak to in detail
Working fluency in the domains adjacent to your own, sufficient to reason about chip-level tradeoffs outside your specialty
Experience working with external partners — ASIC houses, IP vendors, foundries, or test partners — including reviewing their work and holding a technical bar
Track record of owning directional technical decisions and their consequences, not only making recommendations
Practical experience using AI coding tools in your own work, and clear ideas about where they help and where they do not
Clear written and verbal communication, and experience driving alignment across teams and organizations
Comfort operating with high autonomy and little scaffolding on a highly dynamic program
Preferred qualifications
Experience on machine learning accelerators, high-performance compute, or other large, high-bandwidth designs
Experience on a founding or early-stage silicon team, including standing up flows, methodology, or tooling from nothing
Experience with both partner-executed and fully in-house programs, and a view on the tradeoffs between them
Familiarity with the chip-package-system interface and the tradeoffs that cross it
Experience with hardware-software co-design and working directly with compiler, kernel, or runtime teams
Experience building or extending AI-assisted design, verification, or physical design flows
Depth in memory subsystems, on-die interconnect, numerics, or low-power design
Representative projects
Writing the specification for a compute datapath and defending its numeric format strategy against the alternatives
Standing up front-end flows and release management from scratch, then handing releases to an ASIC partner on a fixed cadence
Running fast in-house place-and-route loops on a critical block and feeding PPA reality back into the architecture
Selecting and qualifying PHY IP, then validating it on first silicon
Building a formal verification methodology for a new block and deciding where formal earns its keep versus simulation
Defining test strategy and the automated-test-equipment handoff interface with our partner
Prototyping a Claude-assisted workflow for RTL review, coverage triage, or specification consistency checking, and reporting honestly on what it did and did not do
Debugging a first-silicon failure that crosses your domain and someone else's
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.

About the Opportunity
As a Staff Engineer, y
ou'll own the
build-out of our security engineering
and DevSecOps capabilities: designing
and developing the security
products, platform services, and
SDKs/Agents that embed protection
directly into how code is
written, built, shipped,
and run.
This is a
role for someone with
real depth in security,
broad coverage across the
stack, and the engineering
muscle to ship. Just as important is
the ability to drive
adoption — security that
lands in complex,
fast-moving business environments
rather than sitting in a
policy document.
What You’ll Be Doing
Architect and build our end-to-end DevSecOps platform
and the SDKs/Agents behind our security products, covering code, build, artifacts, images, deployment, and runtime.
Lead runtime protection through RASP and Java Agent
— bytecode instrumentation, runtime hooking, and detection/interception engines using ASM, ByteBuddy, and Instrumentation, with continuous tuning for performance, stability, and compatibility.
Integrate and productise scanning capabilities
across SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA, code scanning, and image scanning. You'll embed tools like SonarQube and Coverity deep into CI/CD and close the loop from detection through blocking, remediation, and re-test.
Go deep on application security offence and defence
— designing detection, remediation, hardening, and counter-measures for XSS, SQL injection, SSRF, deserialisation, command execution, authentication/authorisation flaws, and API security.
Bring AI-native security engineering to life.
Apply LLMs and AI Agents to vulnerability analysis, rule generation, false-positive attribution, remediation guidance, security knowledge capture, and engineering automation — and build a coherent view of the architecture, mechanics, and security implications.
Embed as the security technical expert inside engineering teams,
driving security standards, onboarding specifications, release gates, risk tiering, and remediation mechanisms that measurably lift the security baseline and delivery quality.
Partner across engineering, architecture, SRE, QA, and business teams
on priority projects, solving the genuinely hard security problems and turning the solutions into reusable platform capability and repeatable practice.
What We Look For In You
Strong computer science and security fundamentals
— deep understanding of operating systems, networking, compilers and the JVM, distributed systems, application security, cloud-native security, and supply chain security. Both breadth and depth.
Expert-level Java,
with hands-on depth in the JVM, ClassLoader, Java Agent, ASM, ByteBuddy, bytecode instrumentation, and performance profiling and tuning. Plus working proficiency in Python or Go.
Substantial production experience with RASP, SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA, image security, and code scanning
— enough to design a capability, integrate the engine, build the platform around it, and take it to scale independently.
Real offensive and defensive experience.
You understand the root causes, exploitation paths, detection logic, bypass techniques, and fixes for common web, API, and microservices vulnerabilities — and can design from both the attacker's and defender's point of view.
Fluency with LLMs and AI Agents,
including a considered view on model capability limits, agent architecture, tool calling, context engineering, evaluation methods, and how AI is reshaping both security engineering and the attack surface.
Strong engineering execution paired with product instinct
— able to lead the design and delivery of security products, platform modules, and SDKs/Agents while balancing security outcomes against performance overhead, integration cost, and long-term operability.
Exceptional ownership,
cross-team communication, and the persistence to move security governance, rule enforcement, and remediation through to a clear result.
Nice to Haves
Security engineering experience at a top-tier internet company, cloud provider, or leading security vendor
You've led the build of a DevSecOps platform, application security platform, RASP, code scanning platform, or cloud-native security platform
Background in security product development, SDK/Agent engineering, vulnerability research, red team exercises, or purple team work
Shipped AI + Security work — security copilots, intelligent rule generation, automated analysis, or remediation recommendation systems

Who we are
Our mission is to bring clarity and control to the world's most complex codebases. AI is accelerating code creation, but the infrastructure to understand, oversee, and evolve that code hasn't kept pace. Sourcegraph gives engineering organizations full visibility across their systems, precise context for their agents, and the ability to execute coordinated code changes at scale. As agentic development becomes the dominant engineering paradigm, we provide the context layer teams need to take control of their codebase.
With Code Search, Deep Search, MCP, and Agentic Batch Changes, we deliver on that mission today - giving engineering teams and their AI tools the cross-repo context to navigate massive codebases with confidence, and the ability to make changes across hundreds of repositories at once.
Companies like Stripe, Reddit, and Leidos rely on Sourcegraph to ship faster and with higher quality. We're backed by a16z, Sequoia, and Redpoint, and proud to operate as a globally distributed team that values high agency, direct communication, and customer love.
If you want to build the infrastructure that lets every engineering team - and every agent they deploy - operate on their codebase with confidence, join us.

Why this job is exciting
We are looking for a deeply technical, pragmatic Product Manager to help shape and deliver products for developers and the AI agents working alongside them.
This will initially be the primary Product Manager supporting a small, fast-moving engineering organization. Rather than being embedded within a single team, you will work across several engineering teams to identify priorities, organize customer and product feedback, define requirements, guide products through the experimental, beta, and general availability lifecycle, and enable our Marketing and Go-To-Market teams to bring it to the world .
You will spend significant time working directly with customers, engineering leaders, and developers to understand their needs and translate them into clear product decisions. You will need enough technical depth to discuss implementation tradeoffs, evaluate developer workflows, and represent the product when an engineer is not in the room. You will also need the ability to crisply communicate with non-developers, internal and external, about the value that Sourcegraph delivers.
This is an opportunity to have an outsized impact within a small organization operating much like a startup, while benefiting from Sourcegraph’s enterprise distribution and access to customers with some of the largest and most complex codebases in the world.
📅 Within one month, you will…
Ramp up on Sourcegraph’s products, customers, technical architecture, go-to-market pitch, and product strategy.
Build strong working relationships with engineering leaders and the teams you will support.
Join customer conversations and develop an understanding of their workflows, pain points, and priorities.
Review and begin organizing existing customer feedback, product ideas, and active experiments.
📅 Within three months, you will…
Establish a clear process for gathering, organizing, and prioritizing product feedback across teams.
Translate customer problems into clear product requirements, specifications, and success criteria.
Help teams make pragmatic prioritization decisions across customer requests, product investments, and technical work including market research and competitive analysis.
Support the product lifecycle of experimental and beta features, including customer discovery, iteration, launch planning, and measurement.
Provide greater clarity beyond engineering on what we are building, why it matters, and how we will determine whether it is successful.
📅 Within six months, you will…
Own product prioritization and planning across the engineering teams, and act as the glue between EPD, revenue, and marketing.
Guide key products from early experimentation through beta and general availability.
Develop a strong understanding of Sourcegraph’s customers and become a trusted representative of their needs.
Establish scalable systems for product discovery, feedback management, specification, launch, pricing and packaging, and iteration.
Help define the broader product strategy for how developers and AI agents make changes across large and complex codebases, and represent that vision in public.
Improve the organization’s ability to make focused, evidence-based product decisions without introducing unnecessary processes.
Represent Product and Engineering across the company, supporting sales enablement and product marketing functions.
About you
You are a deeply technical Product Manager who is comfortable operating across several teams and product areas at once. You can move between customer discovery, strategy, product specifications, prioritization, and launch execution based on what the organization needs most.
You are energized by startup environments where roles are broad, context changes quickly, and progress depends on people taking ownership beyond narrowly defined responsibilities. You do not need a large product organization, extensive research support, or a mature operating process to make effective decisions. You are comfortable creating structure where it is useful while avoiding process for its own sake.
You are pragmatic. You know that the best product decision is not always the most ambitious or technically sophisticated one. You consider customer value, engineering effort, product quality, strategic importance, and speed when helping teams determine what to build.
You have meaningful experience with software development, whether through a previous engineering role or sustained hands-on coding experience. You understand how developers work and can discuss technical constraints and tradeoffs credibly. You can explain and defend product decisions with customers, executives, and engineers, even when the engineering team is not present.
You are comfortable spending significant time with customers. You ask thoughtful questions, identify the underlying problems behind feature requests, and distinguish between an individual request and a broader market need. You can turn fragmented feedback into actionable insights and clear product direction.
You are also an excellent communicator. You tell the story behind why a product or initiative matters, creating alignment across engineering and the broader organization. You bring clarity to ambiguous problems without pretending to have certainty where it does not exist.
Because this role will work closely with leaders in Eastern Time and with customers primarily located in North America, you must have substantial working-hour overlap with the Eastern Time zone.
8+ years of total professional experience in a combination of software engineering and product management, including 5+ years in a dedicated product management role.
Previous professional software engineering experience or substantial hands-on coding experience.
Experience building technical products for developers, engineering teams, or other highly technical users.
Experience working directly with customers throughout product discovery, development, beta testing, and launch.
Experience translating customer problems and technical concepts into clear product requirements and specifications.
Experience prioritizing work across multiple teams, stakeholders, and competing customer needs.
Ability to operate as the primary Product Manager across several engineering teams rather than within one narrowly defined product area.
Strong understanding of software development workflows, Git, source control, and modern developer tooling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate credibly with both engineers and customers.
Demonstrated ability to use qualitative feedback, product data, and strategic context to make pragmatic product decisions.
Ability to work effectively with significant Eastern Time zone overlap.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience building products involving AI agents, coding assistants, code generation, or large language models, and a strong stance on how AI will change the way software is being built.
Experience with developer tools, code search, code intelligence, compilers, IDEs, or large-scale code transformation.
Experience working with enterprise customers and complex software development organizations.
You enjoy writing code and are comfortable exploring or contributing to a production codebase.

ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a AI Platform Engineer to build the execution layer for Supabase's internal AI systems.
Supabase is building an AI-native internal operating system: a common way of working across the company where AI carries a meaningful share of the operational load rather than sitting alongside it as an assistant. We are standing up a new central team to build those systems, enable the teams, and embed AI operations throughout the organization. You are the engineer on that team.
The execution layer is yours. You will build the platform that actually runs agents: an event-triggered queue, a headless model-agnostic runtime, durable state so work survives a restart, a human review gate, atomic rollback, and full logging of every prompt, tool call and decision so any run can be reconstructed. You will build the evaluation layer that makes any of it trustworthy, because an agent that cannot be measured cannot be trusted with anything beyond reading. And you will build the agents themselves, across everything from executive reporting down to a layer of agents that watch the platform and improve it.
This is a governance-heavy environment by design, and that is the interesting part of the problem. Agents are risk-tiered from read-only internal data through to external-facing output, with review depth, evaluation requirements and human approval scaling by tier. Some capabilities are permanently off limits: an agent may read and report, it may carry a human-authored update into a system of record once a human consents, and it may initiate contact within a strict budget, but it may never autonomously write a commitment (an owner, a due date, a status) into a shared work system. Your job is to make that structurally impossible rather than merely forbidden.
You will be the only engineer on this platform. You will close open architecture decisions yourself, own the infrastructure end to end, and instrument the system so it reports its own return.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
In this role, you'll:
- Ship the agent platform to production. An event-triggered queue, a headless model-agnostic runtime (choosing the runtime is an open decision you will close), durable state that survives a failed run, a human review gate, atomic rollback, and complete run logging in the warehouse.
- Own the evaluation layer, and switch on the gate that depends on it. Golden suites with behavioral assertions rather than intuition, judge criteria with a written rubric, safety cases that must pass on every run, and a CI gate that blocks a regression from merging. This is the precondition for every agent that does anything beyond read internal data.
- Build and register the agent portfolio. Reporting, drafting, linting, triage and question-answering agents across the executive, team-lead and individual-contributor layers, plus a meta layer that observes the platform and improves it.
- Enforce governance in code. Risk tiers the pipeline actually enforces, least-privilege credentials per agent, tool-permission gates, a decision audit log, and autonomy classes where the dangerous class has no code path rather than a warning label. Nothing runs without a registered owner, tier, tool grant and human gate.
- Design how the system contacts people. A hard interruption budget per person, message bundling instead of a stream of pings, and a structure that gives something useful before it asks for anything. Adoption depends on this more than on any other single design choice.
- Own the platform tooling. The compiler and validator, inventory integrity, and the paths that distribute context and capabilities into the repositories and chat surfaces where work happens.
- Compute the operating measures from production data. A pipeline from raw system activity through to a computed maturity grade per team, defensible enough that a team can dispute the result and be answered with the query rather than an opinion.
- Instrument the platform's own return. A ledger that logs the work each agent absorbs and computes the monthly figure, so the value of the system is a measurement rather than a claim.
HOW YOU'LL THINK
RECURSIVE THINKING
You build the generator, not the artifact. When you need thirty agents, you do not write thirty agents; you build the inventory, the compiler and the distribution path that makes the thirty-first cost an afternoon, then a meta layer whose job is to watch the platform, find its drift and file the fix.
The evaluation layer is the same move applied to trust. You are not checking whether one agent is correct today. You are building the machine that decides whether every future agent is allowed to ship, which means the suite has to be right in a way the agent does not, and the thing that grades has to be graded too.
INVERSION THINKING
You start from the failure and work backward to the design. The rule is that an agent may never autonomously write a commitment into a shared work system. The weak implementation is an instruction in a prompt. The strong one is that the credential in the agent's tool grant physically cannot set an owner, a due date or a status, so no amount of clever input, prompt injection or model error produces the forbidden write. You reach for the second one first.
Same for evaluation. Before writing a suite you enumerate how the agent can be wrong: an update that invents progress that did not happen, one that quotes a private channel into a public digest, one that is accurate and reads as an accusation, one that credits the wrong person. Then the suite is that list, each case caught before the agent ships rather than after it embarrasses someone.
AI-NATIVE EXECUTION
You use agentic tools on real work, in files and repositories, with the same rigor you apply to anything else you ship. You have a setup of your own and can describe it mechanically: what triggers it, what it is allowed to touch, where the human approves, what it logs, and how you found out the one time it went wrong.
That experience is this job, generalized. You are building for async engineers across 40+ countries who will judge the platform by whether it saves them an hour or costs them one, so you are your own first user and your own harshest reviewer.
YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
MUST HAVE
- Have shipped production LLM agent systems that other people depended on. Not demos, not internal showcases. Systems with operational history, real users and at least one incident you can talk through. Prompt engineering on its own does not clear this bar.
- Design evaluations, not spot checks. You build golden sets, write behavioral assertions, define judge rubrics, set pass thresholds and gate CI on the result. You can explain why "we reviewed a bunch of outputs and they looked good" is not evaluation.
- Have done deep API work against the systems work actually lives in, and have authored MCP servers. You know the specific failure modes of those APIs, not just that they exist.
- Own infrastructure end to end in Python on GCP, with a cloud warehouse and infrastructure as code. You provision, deploy, monitor and roll back your own systems, and you close architecture decisions rather than routing them onward.
- Have taste about how software contacts humans. You treat every notification as spending a limited amount of trust.
STRONG SIGNAL
- Public work in this space. An open-source agent framework, an MCP server, an evaluation harness, or writing on agent reliability that other practitioners cite.
- LLM observability and cost instrumentation. Tracing agent runs, attributing spend per run, and building the queries that turn raw logs into a report someone acts on.
- You have built an internal platform that non-engineers adopted voluntarily, and can describe what you changed after watching them use it.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- The platform is boring. Agents run on a schedule and on events, state survives restarts, failed runs roll back cleanly, and every run can be reconstructed from its log.
- Nothing ships unevaluated. Every registered agent has a real suite with safety cases, the gate blocks regressions, and when someone challenges an output the answer is a test case rather than an argument.
- The dangerous action is impossible, not discouraged. An audit of any agent's credentials shows it cannot perform the writes it is not allowed to perform, and the audit log makes every consequential decision traceable.
- Teams pull the platform instead of being pushed. Agents get adopted because the reports are useful and the contact is rare and well-timed, and each team ends up with at least one workflow that runs automatically.
- The platform reports its own value. The work absorbed is measured and published, so the case for expanding it is made with data rather than enthusiasm.

Workplace: Hybrid
The role / impact
We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join the teams behind the Xero Accounting App (XAA), our flagship mobile experience that helps small business owners stay on top of their finances wherever they are. You will define the standard for engineering excellence at Xero, strengthening technical capabilities and evolving the architectural direction to support our global product roadmap.
Core Tech Stack (Non-Negotiable): React Native, TypeScript, and cloud-native backend APIs form the foundation of this role. You will be architecting, building, and leading across all three domains as an integrated system.
You will bridge the gap between product vision, strategy, and execution, shaping the React Native technical roadmap to ensure our architectural decisions align with strategic goals. We need a leader who can solve complex mobile engineering problems at scale, seeking clarity within complexity and demonstrating smart ways to simplify while breaking down silos and driving cross-functional collaboration between mobile and backend teams.
The ideal candidate is someone who,
- Drives architectural strategy across all mobile squads and domains.
- Shapes the mobile technical roadmap in close partnership with product, design.
- Leads the most complex and ambiguous technical initiatives across the organisation.
- Sets the engineering standard for the entire mobile organisation across code quality, reliability, operational maturity.
- Acts as a force multiplier at the organisational level by coaching Lead and Senior Engineers.
- Anticipates industry shifts, evaluates emerging technologies, and future-proofs the mobile platform.
Initially, you will focus on
- React Native Excellence: Establishing reference patterns, best practices, and architectural standards for high-performance React Native applications. Optimize for bundle size, performance, native module integration, and TypeScript-first development—raising the bar across the codebase.
- Cross-Boundary Technical Leadership: Leading collaboration across mobile and backend teams, ensuring API contracts are designed with mobile consumption patterns in mind, and removing friction at the feature boundary. You'll advocate for the mobile perspective in system design while owning the React Native side fully.
- TypeScript-First: Championing strict TypeScript practices across the React Native codebase, establishing type safety standards, and mentoring engineers on patterns that catch errors at compile time rather than at runtime.
- Systemic Operational Excellence: Leading strategic prevention of issues by defining frameworks for SLOs, quality standards, crash analytics, and reliability metrics specific to mobile performance and UX.
- Capability Elevation: Acting as a force multiplier by coaching lead engineers in React Native architecture, recruiting top React Native + TypeScript talent, and engaging with the broader React Native community.
- API & Backend Exposure: Practical experience working across the feature boundary with backend services and BFF/API layers. You can reason about API contracts, mobile consumption patterns, and troubleshoot integration issues—but you're not expected to be a deep backend engineer owning infrastructure, databases, or full service architecture.
- AI-Led Engineering for Mobile: Define and execute a vision for AI-assisted development that transforms how React Native code is written, tested, and optimized—delivering step-function improvements in mobile development velocity.
Additional Strengths:
- You bring extensive experience building and leading mobile applications in high-growth, large-scale environments—understanding the unique challenges of scaling React Native codebases, build pipelines, and release automation.
- Your approach ensures React Native architecture and product strategy are inextricably linked, translating technical possibility into beautiful, performant customer experiences.
- You focus on strategic prevention rather than reacting to incidents, using delivery and production metrics (crash rates, API latency, bundle size trends) to identify systemic improvements.
- A natural ability to thrive in ambiguity allows you to act as a stabilising force, translating shifting business directions into high-level React Native technical roadmaps.
WHY THIS MATTERS
React Native powers ~70% of the Xero Accounting App. Success in this role means establishing the technical standard for how we build mobile at Xero—defining architecture patterns, TypeScript practices, performance benchmarks, and the processes that support high-velocity mobile development. You'll influence hiring, technical culture, and the mobile engineering roadmap for years to come. This is not a backend role; it's about owning mobile excellence end-to-end.
Where and how you can work
Our teams are located in Australia and this hybrid role is based in Melbourne or Sydney, offering the flexibility to balance deep-focus work with high-bandwidth collaboration in our beautiful offices.
Please apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to our culture.

About the Role
The Azul Sales Engineer is a hands-on, deeply technical pre-sales leader responsible for delivering the technical win across opportunities within their territory. Azul sells to the most demanding Java estates in the world — enterprises running mission-critical, high-throughput, latency-sensitive applications on the JVM — so this role demands genuine engineering depth, not just presentation polish.
A Sales Engineer earns credibility with engineers, architects, and executives alike by getting hands on: running technical evaluations in the customer’s own environment, tuning the JVM, interpreting GC and performance data, and translating measurable technical outcomes into clear business value. Beyond individual deals, the Sales Engineer uses their experience to mentor and uplevel the broader SE team.
What You'll Do (aka Responsibilities)
Own the technical win.
Drive pre-sales engagements end to end — discovery of the prospect’s business and technical challenges, mapping Azul portfolio capabilities to those challenges, and validating the solution through demonstration and hands-on proof.
Lead hands-on pilots.
Design, scope, and personally execute product pilots and proofs-of-concept inside the customer’s existing environment: installing and configuring the JVM, running representative workloads, and capturing empirical results the customer trusts.
Prove performance.
Plan and run performance-focused engagements: establish benchmarks and success criteria, measure latency, throughput, GC pause behavior and resource efficiency, analyze GC and JIT logs, tune JVM settings, and quantify the improvement Azul delivers against the incumbent.
Win at enterprise scale.
Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise engagements (large production estates, strict SLAs, security and compliance review, and long procurement cycles) coordinating technical validation across many teams and environments.
Present at every altitude.
Deliver presentations and demos across all technical levels, from CxOs to hands-on developers, to “make the complex simple” and communicate Azul’s value to each audience.
Respond to technical requirements.
Understand and respond to solicited and unsolicited proposals (RFI/RFP) by aligning Azul capabilities against detailed technical and business requirements.
Orchestrate the extended team.
Engage Product Management, Engineering, and the CTO office as needed to remove technical blockers and secure the win.
Partner on territory strategy.
Work alongside your Account Executive(s) on territory planning: pipeline generation, growing existing accounts, and enabling partners.
Grow and retain customers.
Nurture existing clients to promote customer success and to create new upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
Evangelize.
Present at conferences, workshops, and roadshows to raise awareness of the Azul portfolio and build funnel.
Mentor the team.
Provide expert assistance to other SEs on pilot planning and execution, run training sessions, and serve as a primary mentor to onboarding SEs.
Be a trusted advisor.
Advise your manager on product, territory, and team matters.
Technical Competencies
These are the core technical strengths that define a successful Sales Engineer at Azul:
Java & the JVM.
Deep, hands-on knowledge of Java internals and the JVM: class loading, JIT compilation, memory model, and garbage collection. Able to read and reason about GC logs and runtime behavior, not just describe them.
Performance engineering.
Practical experience benchmarking, profiling, and tuning JVM-based applications for latency, throughput, and scale; comfortable diagnosing GC pauses, warm-up, jitter, and resource-efficiency issues in production-like conditions.
Hands-on aptitude.
Confident on the command line and in customer environments: installing, configuring, and troubleshooting runtimes; able to build and run a POC independently.
Enterprise application stacks.
Solid understanding of Java-based applications and frameworks that run on or alongside Azul products (e.g., Cassandra, Kafka, Solr, Spring).
Cloud & containers.
Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Portfolio SME.
Demonstrate SME-level depth and breadth across the entire Azul product suite, and continuously grow technical acumen through enablement, hands-on experimentation, and self-study.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications
5+ years in a Sales Engineering / pre-sales role
supporting enterprise software, ideally in the Java, middleware, performance, or infrastructure space.
3+ years of hands-on Java development or testing experience
with a demonstrable command of Java architecture.
Proven track record of hands-on pilots and POCs
and of performance-related engagements where you measured and demonstrated technical results in a customer environment.
Experience selling into large enterprises
— complex, multi-stakeholder, mission-critical production environments.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related IT discipline; a master’s or higher in an IT or business discipline is a plus.
Working knowledge of cloud and container technologies
(e.g., AWS, Docker/Kubernetes).
Solid knowledge of sales process and CRM
(MEDDICC and Salesforce preferred).
Willing and able to travel up to 30%.
Fluent in your territory’s primary language,
with strong professional English.
Skills & Attributes
Strong oral and written communication, effective one-on-one and in front of large groups.
Proven critical-thinking and problem-solving skills; able to solve complex technical challenges with minimal supervision.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, with excellent time management.
Highly professional and ethical.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can multitask across client challenges, meetings, and team needs, occasionally outside normal business hours.
Collaborates across disciplines, with the EQ to understand multiple perspectives toward a common goal.
A proven winning record.

- Build the third-party event portfolio: Own Sierra's strategy for industry conferences and sponsorships across our key verticals. Decide where we show up and why—evaluating each opportunity against pipeline goals, audience fit, and brand impact—and shape a portfolio of third-party events that builds our presence in the industries that matter most.
- Program high-impact event experiences: Design the formats that drive real conversations with enterprise buyers—executive roundtables, panels, fireside chats, dinners, and field events—and define the content and messaging behind them. Develop our booth content and on-site narrative so every touchpoint reflects our brand and clearly tells the Sierra story.
- Own sales enablement for events: Partner closely with Sales to make events a true pipeline engine. Build the pre-event targeting and outreach, equip the field with talk tracks and materials, and develop the post-event templates, follow-up sequences, and handoff motions that turn conversations into meetings and opportunities.
- Think in integrated campaigns: Treat events as one channel in a larger story rather than standalone moments. Connect each event to the broader marketing campaign—content, demand gen, social, and ABM—so our presence builds toward a coherent narrative and compounding results.
- Measure and iterate: Track event performance, gather attendee and sales feedback, and turn it into reusable playbooks. Compile post-event reporting that captures what worked, what didn't, and how we make the next program sharper.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 5+ years of event marketing experience planning and executing corporate events, ideally in-house, though agency experience will also be considered.
- A strategic track record building event programs that drive measurable pipeline—not just well-run logistics, but a clear point of view on which events to invest in and why.
- Experience designing and programming event formats (roundtables, panels, fireside chats, field events) and developing the content and messaging that make them land with senior audiences.
- A strong partnership instinct with Sales: you understand how events feed pipeline and can build the targeting, outreach, enablement, and follow-up that convert attendees into opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage producers, agencies, vendors, and conference/sponsorship relationships—directing execution to a high bar without owning every logistical detail yourself.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple events, timelines, and partners at once without missing a beat.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to articulate plans, campaign logic, and post-event insights to all levels of the organization.
- Enthusiasm for managing events nationwide or internationally, with the flexibility to accommodate a dynamic event calendar that requires regular travel.
EVEN BETTER…
- Integrated campaign experience: A history of connecting events to broader demand gen, content, and ABM programs so they reinforce a single, compounding narrative.
- Enterprise and field marketing experience: Familiarity with creating targeted, high-impact initiatives designed specifically for enterprise customers, aligned closely with sales teams and strategic business objectives.
- A proactive attitude: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high expectations. You are resourceful and calm under pressure, willing to roll up your sleeves and solve challenges on the fly.
- Passion for Sierra's mission and brand: A creative flair for designing event experiences that embody our values and leave a lasting impression. You take pride in building an events portfolio that showcases Sierra's innovation and company values.
