You will serve as a key partner to Finance, business leaders, and the executive leadership team, translating operating performance into clear financial insights and helping drive fast, informed decisions. The ideal candidate is a seasoned, results-oriented finance leader with strong business judgment, high integrity, and a track record of building scalable processes in complex, high-growth environments. You should be equally comfortable operating strategically and going deep into the details, with the ability to identify what needs to be built and raise the overall standard of Corporate FP&A.
This is an opportunity to build the foundation for Corporate FP&A at a high-growth global company. The role is fully remote and will report to the VP of Finance.
What you'll be doing:

Partner closely with Accounting, Tax, and other Finance teams to support month-end close, flux reviews, and financial reporting.
Establish and continuously improve Corporate FP&A operating rhythms, including close-to-insight timelines, clear ownership, metric definitions, and reporting processes designed to support the company’s next phase of growth.
Lead the modernization of Finance processes, forecasting methodologies, and planning frameworks through systems, workflow automation, structured data, and AI to improve accuracy, scalability, and the quality of forward-looking insights as the business evolves.
Build strong cross-functional relationships with business and functional leaders, serving as a trusted partner on financial performance, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing Corporate FP&A team, and support strategic initiatives such as M&A diligence and integration as needed.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
10+ years of experience across FP&A, Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, or related disciplines, including meaningful experience at a leading technology company and ideally complementary experience in investment banking or buy-side investing. Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or the broader technology sector is strongly preferred.
Corporate FP&A leadership experience, ideally in a public-company, newly public, or public-company-readiness environment, with exposure to quarterly close, executive reporting, Board reporting, and other rigorous financial operating cadences.
Meaningful experience owning a consolidated P&L, company-wide forecast, and Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting processes.
Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to build models from scratch, pressure-test assumptions, identify root causes, and translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights.
Strong executive presence and communication skills, with experience preparing and presenting decision-ready materials to senior leadership and the Board, and influencing significant company decisions.
Proven ability to serve as a trusted business partner across functions and geographies, with strong business judgment and a track record of building effective cross-functional relationships.
Demonstrated success as a change agent, improving forecasting, planning, reporting, and operating processes as organizations scale.
Strong systems and technical fluency, including experience with Pigment and AI tools, and a track record of automating financial processes and applying AI to Finance workflows.
Ability to operate at multiple altitudes, from strategic thinking to detailed execution, while prioritizing competing demands and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
A player-coach mindset with high attention to detail and the highest standards of integrity, credibility, and accountability.

Location: Remote US
About the role
More and more PlanetScale databases are created, connected and queried by AI agents. Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and a growing list of other tools now sit between developers and their infrastructure.
You will own that experience end to end. You'll make sure PlanetScale shows up everywhere developers build with AI, that our MCP server and CLI work flawlessly in every agent, and that we can measure how well it all works. Then you'll show the world how to do it well through demos, docs, blog posts, videos, and conferences.
This is a hands-on role combining engineering, content creation, and a strong public voice. You'll work closely with the teams that build our MCP server, CLI, API and docs.
The landscape of how developers work with AI changes fast. You'll have the opportunity to move quickly, experiment, and take the lead on the future of AI use with databases and infrastructure.
Make PlanetScale great with AI tools
Build and maintain the plugins for PlanetScale in every AI marketplace and directory: agent plugins, skill registries, MCP directories, IDE extension stores and AI app builders
Own our integrations with AI coding tools, agent frameworks and platforms
Stay current with AI tools as they launch and ensure our customers have a great experience from day one
Test the PlanetScale MCP server and CLI across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code and other clients, and catch regressions before users do
Find friction in creating a database, connecting, running migrations and debugging queries from inside an agent, then fix it or drive the fix with the owning team
Improve the context agents rely on: tool descriptions, skills, llms.txt, docs written for agents, and error messages agents can act on
Attention to AEO (answer engine optimization): make sure agents find and recommend PlanetScale
Build and maintain skills for working with Postgres, MySQL, Vitess, Neki, and PlanetScale
Measure how well we're doing
Build evals that run real agent tasks against PlanetScale databases
Benchmark how agents perform with PlanetScale and work towards continuous improvement
Track how often AI assistants and agents recommend PlanetScale for database questions, and whether what they say about us is accurate
Instrument and report on agent usage: databases created by agents, time to first connection, MCP versus CLI usage, and where sessions fail
Show people how to do it well
Build demos and sample apps that show PlanetScale and AI tooling at their best
Write docs, guides and blog posts on using databases effectively with AI, including safe access, branching and performance assessment
Make videos and attend conferences to communicate with our audience how to build effectively with AI
These attributes best describe you
Daily use of AI coding agents, with strong opinions about what makes a tool work well with them
Experience building an MCP server, plugin, CLI or SDK that real developers use
Software engineering background in languages like TypeScript and Go, and comfort with APIs, OAuth and the command line
Experience with writing docs, blogs, and / or video content creation
Good at communicating with a broad audience and customers alike on socials
Experience working with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, SQLite), schema design, migrations, connection handling, and Postgres or MySQL in production
Data fluency: designing evals, writing the queries behind a dashboard, and telling a real trend from noise
Clear communication of technical ideas in writing, on video and on stage
Independence and speed: spotting a gap, shipping a fix, and telling people about it
Genuine curiosity about the AI tooling landscape and a habit of keeping up with it
Bonus points
Contributions to the MCP spec, SDKs or popular open-source MCP servers
Experience writing agent skills, plugins or rules files for Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
Experience with LLM eval tools and building benchmarks for agents
Experience with AEO or GEO, or with tracking how LLMs surface and recommend a product
A blog, YouTube channel or GitHub that developers already follow
Experience with Vitess, database sharding, or running databases at scale

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is an AI safety and research company working to build reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our customers and society as a whole. As an Enforcement Analyst focused on Agentic Alignment, you will play a crucial role in identifying and investigating harmful and unexpected behavior by models, and make enforcement decisions accordingly. You'll work closely with a suite of cross-functional teams, within and outside of Safeguards, including: Policy, Threat Intel, Engineering, Research, and Transparency. Your work will be essential in maintaining Anthropic's commitment to safe and beneficial AI as Claude takes on more autonomous work.
Important context for this role: In this position you may be exposed to and engage with explicit content spanning a range of topics, including those of a sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing nature. There is also an on-call responsibility across the Policy and Enforcement teams.
Key responsibilities
Review and investigate potential instances of Agentic Misalignment, working from transcripts, tool-use traces, and code
Triage cases by severity and urgency and share through the appropriate channels
Help operationalize review pipelines for agentic cases, translating leads from detection outputs and investigations into structured review workflows that scale
Make enforcement decisions under the Usage Policy, applying it consistently to novel agentic scenarios and across surfaces, and documenting the reasoning behind each decision
Assess cyber-related agentic activity, such as scanning, exploitation attempts, credential misuse or malicious code to determine its real-world harm potential
Write clear, well-evidenced case write-ups for audiences ranging from enforcement peers to senior leadership
Identify patterns and trends across cases, and close the loop between enforcement outcomes and upstream improvements by feeding findings back to policy, detection and research teams to improve policies, classifiers and model behavior
Maintain rigorous documentation of enforcement decisions, review logic and precedents to build institutional knowledge
Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Research, Engineering and Policy partners so that detection coverage keeps pace with how agentic misuse and misaligned behavior evolve
Use AI systems, including Claude, to accelerate your own investigations: summarizing long transcripts, analyzing code, querying data and building lightweight tooling
Contribute to regular reports on agentic harm trends and enforcement outcomes
Minimum qualifications
Can read and understand code (for example Python, JavaScript or shell scripts) well enough to follow what happened and why it matters
Have a background in security, cyber threat intelligence, or a similar technical field that lets you understand how cyber harm happens and judge its severity
Have experience in trust and safety, enforcement, investigations or a related field, translating ambiguous policy questions and facts into defensible enforcement decisions and clear written findings
Have conducted structured investigations, building a case from first signal to final finding and knowing when the evidence is strong enough to act on
Have supported or contributed to formal enforcement actions, including case documentation, evidence packaging and escalation coordination
Write clearly and concisely, and can present complex findings to stakeholders across Legal, Policy and Engineering, including non-technical audiences
Have sound judgment about when a case needs escalation, and the resilience to work with difficult content
Preferred qualifications
Have demonstrated use of AI systems to accelerate your own work, and are excited to keep finding new ways to do so
Are comfortable working with large volumes of data, from long transcripts, logs and traces to complex, multi-table datasets, and surfacing the behavioral patterns that matter
Are curious about how AI agents behave, and enjoy investigating behavior no one has categorized before, building approaches where established playbooks don’t exist
Have familiarity with AI safety and alignment, and current debates about the risks of increasingly autonomous AI systems
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.

Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time.
