Location: United States About Nebius: Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure. Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI. Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D. EASTERN & CENTRAL TIMEZONES ONLY Location: Open to candidates living near New Jersey, Kansas City, Oklahoma or the Minneapolis area. Hands-on work is within a reasonable commute or drive of your home base Nebius is building the infrastructure that powers the next generation of AI — and we're scaling fast. In line with our values, we're committed to an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive, and we're looking for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to set the direction, standards and capability that keep our expanding operations safe, compliant and sustainable. This is no ordinary role. We need a decisive, credible leader who owns the regional EHS agenda — someone who can set strategy, build a high-performing team, and act as the trusted voice of EHS at leadership level, while staying close enough to the detail to guide, challenge and support when it matters most. This is a genuine opportunity to shape how EHS operates as Nebius scales. You'll have real autonomy to set priorities, build capability across your team and sites, and influence decisions at a regional and business level — backed by strong support from senior stakeholders and a growing global EHS function. You'll be accountable for the performance, maturity and culture of EHS across your region — leading through others, setting the standards your team and sites work to, and stepping in personally when situations demand calm, experienced judgement under pressure. Above all, you'll help make sound EHS practice a source of competitive advantage for Nebius, not a compliance exercise. What you'll do Set and own the regional EHS plan , turning policy and legislation into clear priorities and controls for your sites. Translate the global EHS strategy into everyday practice across your region, making sure teams are well supported and equipped with the toolkit to advance site EHS performance. Lead, manage and develop local teams — setting objectives, building capability, and owning outcomes. Act as the senior EHS voice with regional and site leadership — advising on risk and holding the business to account. Own regional governance and assurance — audits, inspections, and the quality of your team's risk assessments and controls. Take personal command of major incidents and crises — leading investigations, building a learning culture, and reporting to executive level with composure under pressure. Set the standard for construction, commissioning, operations and other high-risk activity, equipping specialists to manage risk on the ground. Own the regional EHS performance narrative — turning data into insight that drives decisions and accountable action plans. Review EHS data and performance metrics regularly, acting on trends and insights to drive continuous improvement across the region. Support the wider environmental and sustainability agenda, partnering with teams to embed it across your region. Represent Nebius with regulators, industry bodies and partners, protecting its credibility on EHS. Champion Nebius's culture and values, embedding EHS as core to how the business operates. What we're looking for Credible, decisive, and people-focused. You'll bring: NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field, plus 6+ years' Environmental, Health & Safety experience, including experience leading or managing a team. Deep working knowledge of country and regional legislation, with a track record of shaping policy and standards, not just applying them. A genuine subject-matter expert — able to go deep on technical detail when needed, while spending most of your time enabling others to deliver. Proven experience supporting incident response and investigations, including in high-pressure, high-consequence situations, with the composure to make sound decisions under stress. A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and holding them to account. Experience coaching and developing teams and capability. Strong commercial and organisational judgement — able to balance risk, cost and pace. Excellent communication skills, with the gravitas to advise, challenge constructively, and represent EHS externally. A continuous-improvement mindset and the ambition to build a function, not just run a programme. Preferred 8+ years' experience, including international or multi-site regulatory environments. Experience within data centres, critical infrastructure, construction, engineering, commissioning or other high-risk environments. Chartered status or equivalent: CMIOSH, GradIOSH working towards Chartered, NCRQ Level 6, or equivalent senior EHS qualification. Experience managing regional budgets and cross-site resourcing. Why Nebius? Lead with impact — set the direction for EHS as Nebius scales. Build something lasting — grow a team and a function, not just deliver a programme. Operate at leadership level — advise, influence and be accountable alongside the business. Be backed — join a growing global EHS function with real investment behind it. Grow with us — build a lasting career as Nebius continues to scale. Our approach Environmental, health and safety isn't something we do separately — it's how we do the job. Strong outcomes come from partnership, trust, collaboration and shared accountability. As Manager, your role is to set the standard, build the capability, and create an environment where leaders and teams are equipped to make good decisions, manage risk effectively, and speak up, learn and improve. If you want to lead a function where your judgement is trusted and you can genuinely shape how we work, we'd love to hear from you. Join Nebius. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D. The Role We're looking for an Engineering Manager for Network Infrastructure to own delivery of network infrastructure initiatives in the US. This is not a role for someone who only coordinates tickets and status. It is a role for someone with an engineering skeleton: a person who has built, operated, broken and recovered things, and can earn the trust of SREs, SWEs, network engineers, and security and platform teams. We are at the early stage of our US expansion, so at first you will be hands-on: reviewing designs, stepping into incidents, and writing code or automation when the team needs it, with a high degree of independence from the European teams. As the organization grows, the scope of the role will grow with it. You own delivery. You will make important cross-team initiatives land: defining scope, aligning owners, exposing risks, driving decisions, tracking dependencies, and making sure we ship useful outcomes instead of half-finished initiatives. The job is not done when the technical pieces exist. It is done when engineers trust the tool, the NOC actually uses the workflow, alerts are actionable, runbooks are real, and the new way becomes the default way. You stay technical. You don't need to be the deepest expert in every area, but you should be technical enough to understand real trade-offs: why rollback is not optional, why "just automate it" can create a bigger blast radius, why SLOs without ownership are decoration, and why network device CI/CD is very different from deploying a stateless service. You can read a design doc, challenge missing assumptions, notice unclear failure modes, and help the team turn a vague but important problem into an executable plan. This is a high-leverage role in an early-stage and fast-scaling network infrastructure organisation. Many important systems are being built now: automation, observability, reliability standards, provisioning flows, operational safety, and cross-site consistency. You won't be maintaining a mature machine from the sidelines. You'll help shape how the machine works. Your responsibilities will include: Set the engineering bar: code quality, design review, on-call and incident management practices, and operational standards Own end-to-end delivery of cross-team network infrastructure initiatives in the US, from a vague problem statement to an executable plan to adoption Define scope and success criteria, align owners across SRE, SWE, network, security, platform and data center teams, and drive decisions to closure Review designs and technical proposals, challenge missing assumptions, and surface failure modes, dependencies and risks early Stay hands-on where it matters: step into incidents, write code or automation, and unblock the team Drive adoption: make sure tools and workflows become the default way of working, with real documentation, runbooks and feedback loops Keep stakeholders, including the European teams, informed with clear, honest status and coordinate across time zones Turn operational pain and engineering input into a clear, prioritized backlog We expect you to have: 7+ years of experience in software, SRE, network or infrastructure engineering, including experience leading cross-team technical initiatives A real engineering background: you have built and operated production systems and can earn the trust of deeply technical teams Ability to read design docs and technical proposals, understand trade-offs, and ask sharp questions about reliability, rollback, blast radius and failure modes Strong understanding of infrastructure fundamentals (Linux, networking, automation, CI/CD) at the level needed to hold your own in technical discussions Proven ability to drive decisions and create clarity in ambiguous, fast-changing environments Excellent written and verbal communication, including documenting plans and decisions and influencing smart technical people Ability to work independently in an early-stage environment and to build processes from scratch Professional working proficiency in English (spoken and written) and comfort working across time zones It will be an added bonus if you have: Experience with network infrastructure: network automation, observability, or network device lifecycle management Experience with SLO/SLI frameworks, incident management, or production readiness processes Experience with CI/CD or change management for network or other high-blast-radius infrastructure Experience building a team from scratch or launching a new engineering hub Experience with secrets and access management, firmware rollout or fleet-wide operational initiatives Hands-on engineering contributions (code, tooling, automation) alongside management work Knowledge of the US network landscape (carriers, IX, regional connectivity and regulatory specifics) Examples of initiatives your team may own: A user and secrets management system for network infrastructure, including robot-user lifecycle, safe key/password rotation, revocation, break-glass access, mixed agent/push-based device support, and integration with existing secrets backends An SLO framework for network services and components, including SLIs, SLOs, dashboards, alerts, ownership, tiering, and a clear link between reliability targets and engineering investment CI/CD for network devices, where configuration changes, validation, staged rollout, rollback, and blast-radius control become disciplined and repeatable instead of manual and risky Fleet-wide operational initiatives such as firmware consistency, device lifecycle hygiene, observability coverage, monitoring quality, alert ownership, or production readiness for new network capabilities Benefits & Perks: Competitive compensation Career growth and learning opportunities Flexibility and ownership Collaborative and innovative culture Opportunity to work on impactful AI projects International environment and talented teams What's it like to work at Nebius: Fast moving - Bold thinking - Constant growth - Meaningful impact - Trust and real ownership - Opportunity to shape the future of AI Equal Opportunity Statement: Nebius is an equal opportunity employer.
