From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.
During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.

Define requirements for Fusion features that integrate seamlessly with the dbt platform and unlock enterprise value
Keep the Fusion engineering team aligned, unblocked, and executing on a predictable cadence
Contribute hands-on to the dbt Core / Fusion codebases, including code reviews, documentation, and small feature implementations
Collaborate with OSS strategy leads, platform PM peers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a unified roadmap
What success looks like
Shipping net-new features on a predictable quarterly cadence
Measurable contribution to Fusion PLG growth metrics, including identification and monetization of local dbt deployments
Hands-on contributions to dbt Core and Fusion code bases, including merged PRs and meaningful improvements to the open source codebase
Strong execution and alignment across the Fusion engineering team
You're a good fit if you have
2-4 years of product management experience in technical domains such as developer tooling, data platforms, or open source software
Strong grasp of system architectures, particularly for local deployments and how they scale to enterprise use cases
Understanding of how open source investments drive PLG growth and product strategy
Ability to bridge technical delivery with business impact, translating features into revenue and growth metrics
Experience working with engineering teams to define, prioritize, and ship complex technical features
Strong communication skills with empathy for open source contributors and enterprise users alike
Nice to have
Hands-on experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
Background in plugin architectures, extensibility systems, or platform ecosystems

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Security Engineer, you'll cover a broad range of operational and strategic security work rather than a single narrow specialty. - Review application monitoring and logs to catch and investigate anomalies
- Support access governance and permission-management processes.
ABOUT THE TECH
The tech stack is the same one our backend teams work with. You're not expected to know all of it on day one, but you should expect to be learning how to use most of it within your first 3 months, and you'll also be working across other languages and systems used throughout the company as your role demands.

- A background in IT, backend engineering, or a related technical field
- Self-sufficiency - comfort taking ownership of tasks and making progress without constant guidance.

An overview of this role
As a Backend Engineer on the Plan: Spec-Driven Development team, you'll help build GitLab's intent-to-code loop: agentic workflows that turn a stated intent into a refined work item, an implementation plan, and verified, mergeable code. You'll own early-stage backend work across the flows, application programming interfaces, data models, and evaluation systems behind this experience, using Ruby on Rails, Python, PostgreSQL, GitLab Duo Agent Platform, large language model application programming interfaces, and an artificial intelligence gateway.
You'll join a small, distributed team working on one of GitLab's highest-visibility product bets, collaborating with design partners toward a public beta. In your first year, you'll lead major features from an unclear problem through release, help shape scope with product and users, mentor other engineers, and influence technical decisions across agent workflows and evaluation methods.
What you’ll do
Lead backend features from early product discussions through technical design, implementation, rollout, and post-launch learning.
Build the flows, application programming interfaces, and data models behind agent-generated work items, implementation plans, durable specifications, and mergeable code.
Develop evaluation and benchmarking systems that measure workflow quality, token cost, and success rate.
Use Ruby on Rails and Python to build reliable production systems, with PostgreSQL, GraphQL, representational state transfer, GitLab Duo Agent Platform, large language model application programming interfaces, and an artificial intelligence gateway.
Collaborate directly with product, design, engineers, design partners, and users to shape scope and make practical trade-offs.
Coordinate multi-person projects across the team and communicate decisions clearly in GitLab's asynchronous, all-remote environment.
Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical direction across the Plan group and related artificial intelligence initiatives.
Work in short iterations, share progress through demos, and use results and user feedback to guide what comes next.
What you’ll bring
Strong Ruby on Rails experience in a large production codebase and production experience with Python.
Experience driving substantial projects with several engineers over multiple months, with clear user or business outcomes.
A product mindset and experience owning features end to end, including shaping scope, making trade-offs, engaging with users, and learning from adoption after launch.
A full stack background with a current focus on backend engineering, plus the ability to read modern frontend code and design effective APIs.
Strong application programming interface design and structured query language fundamentals.
Experience exploring artificial intelligence-assisted development.
The ability to work independently, collaborate across functions and regions, and support others through technical leadership and mentoring. Experience with GraphQL, PostgreSQL performance at scale, or building and evaluating large language model or agent systems is helpful but not required.
We welcome candidates with different backgrounds and transferable experience. If you're excited about the role but don't meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply.
About the team
We are a team of four engineers, with two backend and two frontend engineers across Canada and Europe. You'll work in an all-remote, async-first environment with weekly sync calls, retrospectives, demos, and short iterations. This is early-stage work with broad ownership, space for creativity, and a fast pace. For more about our team and its work, see

And innovation isn't a buzzword, it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing, and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI.
Ready to level up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place. Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
What's the opportunity?
We’re seeking a transformational Solutions Engineering leader to lead our Mid Market and Enterprise SE teams in North America. You’ll be a pivotal figure in helping Intercom scale its AI-driven support platform to some of the world’s most well-known brands. This role will shape how we engage with large, complex organizations, defining our go-to-market, building a world-class team, and delivering tangible customer outcomes through innovation and credibility.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. You will lead a Solutions Engineering team focused on winning complex deals, creating vertical-specific solution architectures, and building repeatable playbooks. We believe in leaders who are open to be a player and a coach, regardless of seniority. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Success, Product, Engineering, and Services to deliver customer transformation through Intercom’s AI-first platform – be it through strategic guidance as a senior leader on the team, or securing deals with your own technical credibility where needed.
What will I be doing?
Define and evolve the strategic vision and go-to-market (GTM) approach for the Solutions Engineering function.
Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing SE team across global regions and core verticals.
Operate as a player-coach, actively engaging in strategic deals while developing team capabilities.
Support complex, six-figure sales cycles with technical guidance, architecture, demos, and product evaluation support, as well as sales expertise.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor and executive point of contact for large customers.
Partner closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, and R&D to shape verticalized GTM motions and solution strategy.
Champion a customer-obsessed culture across the pre-sales journey – from outbound to implementation.
Lead discovery, design, and delivery of tailored technical solutions, including PoCs and business value assessments.
Build reusable, scalable solution frameworks, and industry-specific technical assets.
Advocate for customer needs and insights internally to influence product roadmap and prioritization.
Represent Intercom and the SE function externally through executive meetings and strategic events.
Foster strong relationships with C-level stakeholders, translating AI product capabilities into tangible business impact.
What skills do I need?
5+ years of pre-sales experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer/Architect, or related individual contributor role.
Having 3+ years of experience leading technical pre-sales teams, with a proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
Ideally, experience selling AI, data, or highly technical products; or at the very least, deep curiosity and utilization of AI on your day-to-day.
Comfortable with ambiguity in environments with an ability to stay focused and thrive under pressure while working with customers to solve their most challenging issues.
Have a humble attitude, and a passion to help others, with a willingness to learn whatever it takes to support the team and help our customers thrive.
A track record of consistently delivering revenue numbers, producing accurate forecasts, while maintaining a focus on team development and growth
Able to travel internationally on average once a month
Ability to flex working hours to partner with teams in EMEA and APAC.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
