About us
Freedom Finance Europe Ltd is a regulated European online broker headquartered in Cyprus, providing access to US, European and Asian capital markets and a broad range of investment services and financial products. We operate in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment where product speed, client trust, marketing accuracy, regulatory discipline and legal architecture must work together. We are now strengthening our Legal Unit and looking for a senior legal leader to head one of its key expert departments.
About the role
The Head of Brokerage, Product & Commercial Legal Department will lead legal support of brokerage and commercial agreements, product launches, client-facing documentation, marketing materials, client complaints, GDPR/data and sanctions-related scenarios, MiFID-related matters, disclosures, prospectus-related work, and repeatable legal standards for the business.
This role is for a senior in-house lawyer who can combine financial services expertise, practical business judgement, leadership, speed of execution and the ability to build legal systems rather than only solve individual tasks
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the CLO - Lead, the legal support of the Company’s brokerage, product, commercial, client-facing, and marketing activities.
Own the department portfolio, priorities, workload allocation, quality control, escalation discipline and legal standards.
Act as the main escalation point for complex, high-risk, time-sensitive or strategically important matters within the department perimeter.
Provide senior legal assessment of new products, client journeys, sales channels, distribution models, marketing campaigns, client communications and commercial initiatives.
Translate MiFID II/MiFIR, CySEC requirements, applicable EU financial services rules, GDPR, sanctions, DORA and other relevant regulations into practical business requirements, red flags and execution routes.
Lead or supervise drafting, review and negotiation of brokerage, product and commercial agreements with clients, partners, counterparties, providers, data providers, banks, payment institutions, introducing brokers, sales channels, vendors and other third parties.
Own the legal quality and consistency of Terms of Business, disclosures, product terms, client forms, prospectus-related materials, website/platform wording, disclaimers and other client-facing documentation.
Set the legal review framework for marketing campaigns, claims, presentations, landing pages, sales materials and other regulated communications.
Lead legal strategy for complex client complaints, pre-dispute matters, reputationally sensitive cases, sanctions/restriction scenarios and asset-unblocking matters.
Build and maintain scalable legal tools: templates, playbooks, standard clauses, fallback positions, checklists, decision trees and escalation rules.
Work closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Client Support, IT, Document Management, Legal Operations and senior management.
Manage, mentor and develop Senior and Mid Legal Counsels within the department.
Coordinate with external legal advisers where needed and ensure their advice is converted into practical internal
standards and actions.
Requirements
10-12+ years of relevant legal experience in a Cyprus or European Investment Firm, regulated broker, fintech company, payment institution, financial services group, or a law firm advising such clients.
Law degree. Common-law qualification/JD or civil-law equivalent with strong exposure to common-law drafting, international transactions and EU financial services regulation is preferred.
Proven experience leading legal teams or managing complex legal portfolios in a regulated financial services environment.
Strong expertise in brokerage, investment services, capital markets, product distribution, commercial agreements, client-facing documentation and regulated communications.
Strong knowledge of MiFID II/MiFIR, CySEC requirements, applicable EU financial services regulation, GDPR, sanctions frameworks, DORA and related legal/regulatory requirements.
Experience supporting product launches, marketing and sales initiatives, client documentation, complaint handling and cross-functional business projects.
Excellent drafting, negotiation and legal advisory skills in English; fluent Russian or other languages will be a plus.
Ability to provide clear, business-oriented legal advice without lowering regulatory or legal standards.
Strong leadership, ownership, prioritisation, stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to build repeatable legal solutions, not only handle one-off legal tasks.
Confidence working with senior management, business teams, compliance, risk, external counsel and cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience with legal technology, document management tools, knowledge management, templates, playbooks or legal process improvement will be a strong advantage.
Benefits
Work in a modern office in the center of Limassol with an open-minded and professional team;
Relocation package, including reimbursement for flights and accommodation for 1 month;
Visa sponsorship for the employee and their family members;
The company covers 50% of the annual cost of the health plan, which the employee can choose with any insurance company;

21 working days of paid vacation;
12 additional days off per year, provided by the company;
Paid sick leave;

GiveWell’s mission is to help people in need as much as we can by researching the most cost‑effective ways to save and improve lives, sharing our work openly, and directing donations to the programs we believe will do the most good. Our work, which focuses on global health and well-being, is funded by tens of thousands of donors who rely on our research to inform their giving. We’ve grown from directing $1.5 million in 2010 to directing more than $400 million in 2025. We anticipate our total grantmaking is likely to approach or even exceed $1 billion this year, and we are working toward a future that could be several times that scale. Through years of deliberate groundwork, we’ve been growing our research capacity and scope in order to direct substantially more funding to the most impactful opportunities we can find.
The role
Senior Program Officers are the leaders of GiveWell's grantmaking. In this role, you'll take primary responsibility for a significant grantmaking portfolio, setting its strategy and sifting through the many opportunities we could fund to focus on those that matter most. Your decisions will inform the allocation of hundreds of millions of dollars to dozens of grantees. You'll also communicate externally about our work and mentor and advise other members of the team.
You will build and lead a grantmaking portfolio that brings rigor and creativity to GiveWell's hardest funding problems. You'll combine rigorous review of empirical evidence, cost-effectiveness modeling, strong grantee relationships, ground-truthing of how programs are actually delivered, discussions with subject matter experts, understanding of the broader context, and your own judgment to decide what to fund, how to structure it, and when to build something new. In the course of your work, you might approach questions like these:
How should we balance exploring and seeding new, smaller opportunities with funding cost-effective opportunities at scale today?
When the best opportunity doesn't exist yet, how do we create it, whether through co-design, seeding an implementer, or shaping broader incentives?
What is the best direction for our portfolio, and are we correctly prioritizing the programs and grantees we fund?
Where are the highest-impact opportunities to expand the portfolio while improving its cost-effectiveness?
How can we triangulate empirical evidence against expert opinion and other qualitative features, like a grantee's organizational track record?
Do a grantee's reported outputs reflect real coverage, quality, and adherence to evidence-based practices on the ground?
What research can we fund today that could substantially improve our grantmaking five years from now?
How much uncertainty are we willing to accept before making a grant, and which questions do we need to answer first?
Senior Program Officers work closely with
Senior Researchers
, an equivalently-leveled, parallel role on our team. Senior Researchers typically set the research agenda for grantmaking areas and tackle the thorniest, most open-ended questions we face, while Senior Program Officers own the grant and portfolio decisions — deciding what we fund and why, and incorporating Senior Researchers' analysis into their decisionmaking. Senior Program Officers have a research mindset, too: they're comfortable digging into a cost-effectiveness model and forming their own view of the evidence.
Team structure
Our research department is currently organized into eight teams:
Five of the teams (Water, Livelihoods, Nutrition, Malaria, and Vaccines) focus on specific areas of grantmaking.
The New Areas team focuses on interventions in domains that are new to GiveWell.
The Cross-Cutting team focuses on methodological issues, research quality, and other big-picture concerns that cut across all of our research work.
The Commons team provides generalized research support to each of the other teams, including landscaping research, vetting, and publishing.
New Senior Program Officers typically begin on our Cross-Cutting team, where they complete a structured onboarding program with one-on-one feedback on core GiveWell skills like evidence review, cost-effectiveness analysis, and clear research writing. Onboarding usually lasts one to two months.
We generally decide which team a new hire will join by the end of onboarding. Most move onto one of our grantmaking teams (for example, Malaria, Nutrition, Vaccines, or New Areas), and some stay on Cross-Cutting. Placement is based mainly on the research team's needs. In most cases, we won't know at the time of the offer which team someone will join, but if a candidate brings specialized expertise, we may settle on a team sooner. Once placed, team members usually stay on that team long-term.
Team values
We think our research team has unique qualities:
We care deeply and centrally about finding and sharing truth.
Truth-seeking is one of our
core values
. We post
our mistakes
and we prize our team members who keep our culture of free-flowing feedback strong.
We are independent.
We focus 100% on finding the most cost-effective opportunities to save and improve lives. Our researchers assist in communicating our research findings to the public and our donors, and on occasion we provide tailored advice to ultra-high-net-worth donors who want to rely on our expertise to direct their giving—but we never ask our researchers to trade off against honesty, or to hide their real beliefs.
We don’t waste time.
Once it’s clear that a particular research question is unlikely to change our bottom-line funding recommendation, we drop it as quickly as possible. We encourage our research staff to constantly re-evaluate their portfolios and only work on the highest-priority questions.
Lean research team = huge personal impact.
In 2026,
our research team of ~80 people is directing close to 1 billion dollars and we expect grantmaking dollars per research team member to increase in the future.
We work well together.
Our research team is lean because we’re able to attract top-tier people, all of whom complete skills-based assessments before joining our staff. We maintain a high-performing, collegial culture and pay our staff accordingly.
About you
The strongest candidates typically have at least 5-10 years of professional experience, a significant portion of which was in similar or closely-related roles. Many of our senior staff have quantitatively-oriented advanced degrees, but there’s no hard academic requirement — what matters to us is that you’ve used empirical tools to make rigorous, evidence-based decisions under uncertainty, whether you’ve done that in graduate training or hands-on experience.
In addition to relevant experience with the responsibilities listed above, we'll be interested in people with strong track records in any of the following areas:
Funding, building or scaling new programs, initiatives, or organizations.
Using rigorous quantitative analysis and cost-effectiveness modeling to support decisionmaking
Building relationships with diverse stakeholders (you'll work with other funders, research organizations, NGOs, and more, so it will be important for you to have strong skill in this area)
Owning large budgets and/or grant portfolios
Excellent written and verbal communication, with an emphasis on directness and clarity
Setting and iterating on strategy in complex, fast moving environments
It’s a plus, but not required, if you have experience:
Engaging with global health, development, or related fields
Reviewing randomized controlled trials and impact evaluations
Working with governments or multilateral organizations
Gathering first-hand data to inform program design
Managing a variety of grant types, including advocacy and market-shaping initiatives
You can review our staff bios
here
for more practical insight on the backgrounds and experience of our current team.
We expect that people with the soft qualities below will be the most successful and happy on our team. This isn’t a full list, but hopefully it conveys the gist of our team’s professional personality:
GiveWell’s mission and methods are personally energizing—you like our approach to research and you find personal meaning in our story of impact.
You’re abnormally curious—you ask lots of questions, and you’re willing to interrogate others’ work. Your curiosity also extends to your own work—you aren’t defensive when your research comes under scrutiny.
You get things done, and you'll drop what you're doing when something matters more. You drive work to conclusions efficiently, and when the evidence shifts or a higher-value opportunity appears, you’re eager to pivot.
You're entrepreneurial. When you see a gap, you want to fill it, whether that's designing a new program, finding an implementer, or setting up a new kind of funding mechanism. You make bets under uncertainty.
You routinely think about and surface the value judgments, background knowledge, and strategic commitments that undergird your work. You understand the potential effects of mistaken mental models, so you strive to improve yours and your team’s.
You dislike it when people express strong confidence in views that don’t seem to rely on commensurate evidence. You carefully and legibly communicate about your confidence levels.
You appreciate the value of an excellent reputation and strong relationships. You can moderate your directness and intensity when you’re communicating with external folks.
You love a
gnarly problem
. You figure out the most important questions to answer, go deep on the details where they matter (and move on where they don’t), and reassess your mental models based on what you’ve learned.

: Our
benefits
include:
Fully funded health, dental, vision, and life insurance (we cover 100% of premiums within the US for you and any dependents)
Four weeks of paid time off per year
16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
Ergonomic home workstations or coworking space memberships
Automatic contribution equal to 5% of your gross salary into your 403(b) retirement plan (for U.S. based staff)
Countries we can hire from:
GiveWell is a remote-first organization. However, for the time being, we can only hire within a select number of countries (US, UK, Canada, Switzerland, and Germany). To be considered for a role with GiveWell, you need to already be based in one of those countries or be willing to move to one of them. We expect to expand the list of locations where we can hire over the course of 2027, and our job descriptions always reflect the current status — so we'd encourage you to check back and apply again for a role you're eligible for.
Visa sponsorship:
The US is the only country where visa sponsorship is possible for a number of roles, and it's assessed on a case by case basis. For all other countries, you need to already have work authorization, we cannot sponsor visas.
Why we work this way:
Focusing on countries where we already have tested onboarding processes lets us move candidates through hiring faster and with fewer surprises. Every additional country brings its own labor laws, EOR requirements, and new processes to work through, which slows things down for hiring teams and new colleagues alike. Concentrating our footprint keeps the experience consistent and supports GiveWell’s wider absorption capacity goals.
Flexibility:
We support and encourage flexible working, including flexible hours, working remotely, and working from the office when you choose. The majority of our staff, including senior management, work flexibly in one way or another.
Travel:
Research team members are sometimes required to attend international site visits and conferences (on average 1-2 per year), with additional travel for those interested in traveling more. Additionally, we strongly encourage staff members to attend annual department retreats and twice-annual whole org visit weeks to bond with other team members and complete in-person work. We'll discuss travel obligations in more detail during late stages of the hiring process, and we’ll accommodate staff who have conflicting obligations.
Start date:
We’d like a candidate to start as soon as possible after receiving an offer, but we’ll offer flexibility for candidates whose personal or professional circumstances require them to moderately delay their start date.
Application deadline:
We don't currently have an application deadline. If that changes, we'll update the posting. We're reviewing applications on a rolling basis, so we recommend applying as soon as possible.
Miscellaneous details:
Please note that our hiring process relies on some (not all) of the same work trials that we use in our Researcher and Senior Researcher roles (including team-specific Senior Researcher postings). If you applied to one of these roles within the last year, you should hold off on applying to others unless our team reaches out directly. If you're interested in multiple roles, please just apply once and note in your application that you'd like to be considered for the other roles, too.
After application review, our hiring process consists of a short application exercise and up to 15 hours of compensated work trials. You can see more details about our hiring process on our
FAQs page
!
We devote significant staff capacity to initial application review, and we respond to all applications as quickly as possible.
We have a strong preference for full-time applicants, but we sometimes consider applications for part-time work on a case-by-case basis. We aren’t interested in reviewing applications for contract or project-based work at this time.
If we settle on an application deadline, we’ll write it in bold here. If you’re on our website job posting and don’t see a deadline, there is no deadline. If you’re reading this on an external job board and don’t see a deadline, you should double-check on our
website
.
You don't need to submit a cover letter—we rely mainly on your resume and answers to the application questions below when we're making early decisions.
About GiveWell
GiveWell is dedicated to finding and evaluating highly cost-effective global health and development opportunities, and we publish all the work, reasoning, and uncertainties behind our funding decisions. Our
giving funds
enable donors to contribute to the most impactful and cost-effective programs our researchers identify.
GiveWell is one of the world’s largest private funders of global development efforts. Trusted annually by tens of thousands of donors, GiveWell searches for highly cost-effective programs that save or improve lives the most. Since 2007, more than 150,000 donors have given over $2.6 billion through GiveWell to the most promising programs its research has identified, which we estimate will save more than
340,000 lives
.
GiveWell is most well-known for recommending a small number of
Top Charities
, which currently support
seasonal malaria chemoprevention
,
insecticide-treated nets
,
vaccine incentivization
, and
vitamin A supplementation
. However, most of our research capacity and grantmaking is devoted to
cost-effective opportunities outside of those programs
.
GiveWell
grants
have:
Helped governments
navigate changes to the funding landscape
and implement high-impact health programs, like
HIV/syphilis screening and treatment
for pregnant people in Zambia and Cameroon.
Sought to scope and scale promising interventions that don’t have clear existing implementers. We are supporting the
Clinton Health Access Initiative’s Incubator
to identify potentially cost-effective interventions and create programs that we would be excited to support in the future. For example, we
funded a program
to prevent tuberculosis among young children in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, India, that we co-designed with CHAI through the Incubator program.
Provided funding to ensure that programs that recently faced foreign aid funding cuts could continue, like
healthcare support and malnutrition treatment
in northern Cameroon.
Funded program delivery alongside strengthened monitoring and evaluation, as in our grants to support
treatment of clubfoot
and to
evaluate the program
.
Tested our
assumptions and refined our understanding
through further research and data collection, including
improved estimates of disease burden
and studies on
the effect of water chlorination on mortality
and
the impact of a tree-planting program on farmers’ income
.
We make our reasoning public and transparent so others can challenge it (sometimes we even
pay people to point out our errors
). We go to unusual lengths to check our assumptions and assess our impact, including
funding research
to address our uncertainties and gathering
independent monitoring and evaluation data
about the programs we support. We
change
our minds when the evidence demands it. For more about GiveWell, listen to Ezra Klein’s
recent interview
with GiveWell’s co-founder and CEO Elie Hassenfeld.

We don’t want to miss candidates that could do great things at GiveWell. Practically, that means a GiveWell staff member reviews every application carefully, considering the whole picture of your background and potential. If you’re on the fence about applying because you meet some but not 100% of our preferred qualifications (some studies suggest this hesitation is especially common for women and people of color), we encourage you to apply anyway.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Enterprise is central to Anthropic's mission. The organizations that could benefit most from Claude are often the most demanding buyers, with rigorous requirements around security, compliance, and control. We believe earning their trust is essential to ensuring AI benefits the world broadly.
We're looking for an engineering manager for our Enterprise pillar —the team that makes Claude enterprise-ready at scale. When a Fortune 500 company wants to roll out Claude to 100,000 employees, we're the team that makes it possible.
You'll build the foundational systems that large organizations require before they can deploy AI at scale. This work directly converts product-market fit into revenue by removing the deployment blockers that prevent large organizations from adopting Claude broadly.
This role sits at the intersection of enterprise product, platform infrastructure, and go-to-market. You'll partner closely with product, design, sales, and customer success to understand what our largest customers need, then translate those requirements into scalable technical solutions that work across
Claude.ai
, Claude Code, and API.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of engineers building out features and foundations that make Claude enterprise-ready at scale
Own engineering execution end-to-end: planning, prioritization, delivery quality, team health, and incident response
Partner with engineering teams throughout the company to ensure that the platforms we build are extensible and easy to adopt
Partner with sales and customer success on enterprise deals—understanding requirements, representing engineering in key conversations, and turning what you learn into priorities
Shape the roadmap with product and design, not just execute against it
Drive the compliance and platform-readiness work your customers require, partnering with security and legal
Recruit, onboard, and grow strong engineers; give direct feedback and build a healthy, high-performing team
Minimum qualifications
4+ years of experience as an engineering manager, with experience in enterprise SaaS, cloud services, or admin tools
Are comfortable executing at a fast pace to meet the expectations of our customers
Are detail-oriented and quality-focused - our customers are using Claude for critical workflows and our product needs to stay robust and reliable
Are comfortable working with enterprise customers, working alongside sales and customer success and joining customer conversations
Are a skilled engineering manager who treats management as a craft—clear feedback, strong 1:1s, consistent investment in your team's growth
Preferred qualifications
Experience with AI/ML products and understanding how enterprises evaluate and deploy AI tools
Background with compliance frameworks for regulated industries (SOC2, HIPAA) and enterprise audit logging requirements
Experience building integrations, permissions, billing, or pricing infrastructure
Familiarity with data residency and sovereignty requirements across global regions
Startup experience, particularly in scaling enterprise platforms from early adoption to broad deployment
Experience in working with research to improve domain specific model capabilities

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic's Inference organization serves Claude to millions of users and enterprise customers with the speed, reliability, and efficiency that frontier AI demands. We build across GPUs, TPUs, and Trainium, and the complexity of our development environment grows with every platform we add. We're looking for a Staff engineer to be the technical lead for Inference Developer Productivity: the team that makes every engineer in the org dramatically more effective at building, testing, and shipping inference software.
This is a senior IC role with broad technical ownership. You'll set technical direction for the team's toolchains, workflows, and feedback loops, and you'll be the one making the hard calls on architecture, prioritization, and tradeoffs across heterogeneous accelerator platforms. You'll pair with the team's Engineering Manager, who owns hiring and people development, while you own the technical roadmap and drive the work. You'll also partner closely with Anthropic's central Infrastructure org, where company-wide developer productivity lives, to make sure Inference's multi-accelerator reality is well served without duplicating effort.
This role is for someone who has been the technical anchor on a platform or infrastructure team before, who thinks in systems and feedback loops, and who gets real satisfaction from the moment another engineer stops fighting their environment and starts shipping.
Key responsibilities
Set technical direction for Inference Developer Productivity, owning the architecture and roadmap for toolchains, dev environments, and CI/CD across GPU (CUDA), TPU, and Trainium platforms
Be the technical owner of accelerator toolchain management: compilers, drivers, libraries, frameworks, kept current, compatible, and well-tested so Inference engineers focus on model serving instead of environment archaeology
Design and build infrastructure for efficient accelerator usage during development, including devbox environments, pre- and post-land validation automation, and shared tooling that reduces the cost of working across heterogeneous hardware
Define and instrument productivity metrics for the Inference org, building the dashboards and alerting that surface regressions early (smoke tests red for extended periods, build times creeping up, toolchain breakages) and drive them to resolution
Proactively hunt down bottlenecks, toil, and friction across Inference engineering workflows, then design and build the systems that eliminate them
Act as the technical counterpart to Anthropic's central Infrastructure org, aligning on shared developer productivity initiatives, contributing Inference-specific requirements, and making the call on build vs. adopt

Anthropic's API is the foundation that customers, developers, and our own products build on, and it is scaling fast. We're hiring a Technical Program Manager to drive the scaling and core efficiency programs for the API stack, working at the intersection of the API and the infrastructure it runs on (compute, databases, networking, and inference).
Today this work spans many teams and many simultaneous programs, with no single person focused on cohesion across them. You'll be the center: the person who connects isolated workstreams into one coherent roadmap, makes cross-org dependencies visible before they become blockers, and creates clarity on who owns which decisions. Success looks like an API stack that scales efficiently and predictably, with programs that land because someone is accountable for the whole picture.
Responsibilities
Drive scaling and core efficiency programs for the API stack from architectural direction through sequenced, deliverable execution
Run multiple large programs simultaneously across infrastructure, networking, and the API layer
Act as the connective tissue between API, infrastructure, database, networking, and inference teams, owning cross-org dependencies end to end
Establish decision-making clarity: who owns what, where trade-offs get made, and how isolated streams roll up into one program view
Surface risks, progress, and trade-offs to engineering leadership with the right altitude and cadence
You may be a good fit if you
Have 7+ years of technical program management experience, with a track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional programs
Have experience with API platforms, distributed systems, and core infrastructure programs and can engage meaningfully with the engineers who design and operate them
Have driven scaling, performance, or efficiency programs for high-volume production systems, including the tradeoffs across performance, reliability, and cost
Have coordinated programs spanning many partner organizations, managing cross-team dependencies, commitments, and escalations at the working level
Are highly organized and can manage multiple parallel workstreams effectively across distributed teams
Thrive in unstructured environments with a knack for bringing order to chaos and creating clarity in ambiguous situations, including where decision ownership is unclear
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority
Are passionate about Anthropic's mission and interested in the challenges of operating AI infrastructure safely and reliably

About the RL Teams
Our Reinforcement Learning teams play a critical role in advancing our AI systems. We've contributed to all Claude models, with significant impacts on the autonomy and coding capabilities of our latest Claude models. Our work spans several key areas:
Developing systems that enable models to use computers effectively
Advancing code generation through reinforcement learning
Pioneering fundamental RL research for large language models
Building scalable RL infrastructure and training methodologies
Enhancing model reasoning capabilities
We collaborate closely with Anthropic's alignment and frontier red teams to ensure our systems are both capable and safe. We partner with the applied production training team to bring research innovations into deployed models, and are dedicated to implement our research at scale. About the Role
We're hiring for the Code RL team within the RL organization. As a Research Engineer, you'll advance our models' ability to write, edit, test, debug, and ship real software — end to end, on real codebases, with real tools — and to do it correctly, fast, and safely.
This role blends research and engineering. You'll design RL environments and coding tasks, build the reward signals and verifiers that capture what "good code" means, run training experiments on frontier models, diagnose why a model does (or doesn't) get better at a class of software-engineering work, and improve the speed and reliability of the pipelines that make all of that iterate fast. Code RL spans several focus areas — from agentic coding behaviors and code correctness, to long-horizon autonomous engineering, to high-performance code for accelerators — and we'll match you to the area where you'll have the most impact.
You may be a good fit if you:
Have strong software-engineering skills and deep Python expertise, including async/concurrent programming
Are comfortable owning systems end to end and debugging across the stack
Can balance research exploration with engineering implementation, and engage rigorously in shaping experimental design and interpreting results
Care about code quality, testing, and performance
Are passionate about the potential impact of AI and are committed to developing safe and beneficial systems
Strong candidates may also have:
Experience with reinforcement learning, RLHF, post-training, or LLM finetuning
Built coding agents, code-execution sandboxes, eval harnesses, verifiers, or developer tooling
Background in program analysis, testing, verification, compilers, or formal methods
Experience with PyTorch and large-scale distributed training; performance profiling and optimization of ML systems
CUDA / GPU or TPU kernel experience and accelerator-performance intuition
Experience with virtualization and sandboxed code execution environments
Related roles
If your background leans toward one of these areas specifically, you may also want to look at these postings:
Research Engineer, Performance RL (Reinforcement Learning)
