Azul == Java. As the only company focused 100% on Java, Azul is building the Java platform for the modern cloud enterprise. We are reimagining how customers use Java, bringing them the tools and insight they need to deliver faster, more performant, more dependable, and less expensive Java services. It requires experts in many areas — hardcore experts in Java VM internals, application developers with deep knowledge of Java, backend and frontend developers, performance engineers, etc. Come join one of the most influential members of the Java and OpenJDK community and help influence the future of Java.
About the Product
Azul Optimizer Hub (OptHub) is a set of services external to the JVM within Azul Platform Prime that run in your cloud or on-premises environment. It consists of two major functions:
Cloud Native Compiler separates the heavy lifting of compiling bytecode to optimized machine code from the actual running of Java applications.
ReadyNow Orchestrator ensures consistent responsiveness and performance even as instances are brought up and down, and during critical times like a retail rush, start of the gaming day, or market open.
Your Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Optimizer Hub team, you will design and build the server-side services that sit at the heart of our JVM performance platform. You will work closely with product managers, performance engineers, and JVM experts to deliver high-quality, scalable backend components.
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java services including protocols, APIs, data storage, and real-time optimization engines.
Build and evolve server-side OptHub components that communicate with the JVM at scale across cloud and on-premises environments.
Debug complex distributed systems issues with limited diagnostic data and under performance constraints.
Design and implement observability, profiling, and diagnostic tooling to support both internal development and customer-facing deployments.
Drive performance analysis and improvement: create benchmarks, interpret profiler output, and act on findings.
Participate in design discussions and code reviews, raising the bar for the whole team.
Key Requirements
5+ years of strong professional Java development experience, with a focus on backend and server-side systems.
Deep understanding of JVM internals: memory management, garbage collection, JIT compilation, and threading.
Experience building and operating distributed systems and microservices in production.
Proficiency with concurrency, low-latency design, and performance optimization techniques in Java.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
Ability to design clean APIs and protocols; comfort working close to the metal when needed.
Strong debugging skills — you can track down hard-to-reproduce production issues with limited data.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with JVM-adjacent technologies: JVM agents, JVMTI, bytecode manipulation (ASM, Javassist), or OpenJDK internals.
Background in performance engineering, profilers (async-profiler, JFR, YourKit), or runtime observability.
Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers,
WebSockets
or high-throughput messaging systems.
Experience with process metrics, system observability and CI/CD pipelines.
Prior work in a Java platform, middleware, or infrastructure product company.

- Employment type: Permanent
- Workplace model: Hybrid
- Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:
ICEYE's Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) AI team builds models that turn satellite imagery into intelligence for defense customers. Your job is to work with data scientists to build sustainable infrastructure, workflows, and deployment practices for the AI models, both in the cloud and for on-premise systems. You sit with the AI team and work with them to build the infrastructure they train, evaluate and ship on. Like our platform work, every environment is temporary and must be reproducible from code; a model is only done when it runs, monitored, on hardware we don't control.
WHO WE ARE
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build training, evaluation and packaging pipelines that take a model from experiment to versioned, deployable release.
- Deploy and serve models on Kubernetes with GPUs, in the cloud and on-prem, including air-gapped sites.
- Package models, weights and dependencies so they install and upgrade offline.
- Manage GPU compute: scheduling, drivers, utilization and cost, across cloud and on-prem hardware.
- Track data, experiments and model lineage, so any result can be reproduced and audited.
- Monitor models in production for performance, drift and failures, without relying on outside connectivity.
- Write tooling in Python that the AI team uses every day, and work in the model codebase alongside them.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must haves:
- Senior hands-on engineer (not an engineering manager or architect role).
- Proven experience deploying ML models to production and running them there, not only training them.
- Strong Python, and comfort reading and changing ML code (PyTorch or similar).
- Hands-on Kubernetes and containers, including GPU workloads.
- Infrastructure as code and CI/CD for ML (for example Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions).
- Daily use of AI tools in engineering work, beyond chat: generating and reviewing code, configuration and tests.
- High autonomy: you find problems, propose fixes and drive them through.
- Motivation to work in new defense: building technology used by defense forces.
Nice to haves:
- Deployed models to on-prem, edge or air-gapped environments.
- Model serving and optimization: Triton, TorchServe, KServe, ONNX, TensorRT, quantization.
- Computer vision or geospatial data (satellite, SAR, raster, PostGIS).
- ML pipeline and tracking tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Argo Workflows, DVC or Weights & Biases.
- Large-scale data processing for imagery (Dask, Ray, Spark, object storage).
- Strong IC track record in a startup or a fast-changing company launching new products.
- Clear communicator who works well with researchers and experienced engineers.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:
ICEYE's Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) team builds products that put ICEYE satellite data to work for military and intelligence users. We deliver tactical and strategic intelligence to sovereign mission customers, many of them using space-based data at scale for the first time. The team brings together military intelligence, data science and AI, and software engineering.
Our products run in secure, sovereign environments. We develop in the cloud for convenience, but customers run the product on their own servers, often in air-gapped networks.
This role is not about keeping one system running and tuning it. Here, every environment is temporary: you build the automation that creates, ships, upgrades and tears down complete deployments, reliably and repeatably, in places with no internet access. You work inside the product team, not beside it, and many of your changes will touch the application codebase.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and own the automation that packages our product and deploys it to on-prem and air-gapped customer environments.
- Write tooling (mostly Python) that fills the gaps between off-the-shelf tools, rather than only configuring them.
- Provision and manage infrastructure from bare metal and hypervisors up to Kubernetes, and make it reproducible from code.
- Keep cloud development environments fast and disposable, so engineers can spin up a full stack on demand.
- Build CI/CD pipelines that produce signed, versioned, offline-installable releases.
- Set up observability that works when nobody can reach the system from outside.
- Spot what the team needs next and raise it, without waiting to be asked.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must haves:
- Senior hands-on engineer (not an engineering manager or architect role).
- Strong experience building infrastructure and deployment automation, not only operating existing systems.
- Solid coding skills in Python, or deep experience in another language (for example Go) and willingness to work in Python.
- Daily use of AI tools in engineering work, beyond chat: generating and reviewing code, configuration and tests (for example Claude Code, Cursor).
- High autonomy: you find problems, propose fixes and drive them through.
- Motivation to work in new defense: building technology used by defense forces.
Nice to haves:
- On-prem or datacenter experience: bootstrapping servers, virtualization (VMware, Proxmox), storage and networking, not just public cloud.
- Delivered to air-gapped or otherwise restricted environments.
- Release engineering: shipping a packaged product to many customer environments on a fixed schedule.
- Built internal tools and automation used by other engineers (a CLI, an operator, a provisioning service).
- Operated PostgreSQL in production (upgrades, backups, migrations); PostGIS a plus.
- Strong IC track record in a startup or a fast-changing company launching new products.
- Comfortable in an environment where process and requirements change often and are not always fully defined.
- Clear communicator who works well with experienced, opinionated engineers.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Outline the stages of this role, including task stages.

HEALTH CAN’T WAIT.
Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.
Alan exists to end the wait.
Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.
So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.
We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture https://alan.com/en/careers. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.
Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.
⭐️ THE USER RESEARCHER ROLE ⭐️
At Alan, research is not a checkpoint. It's a compass. Our User Research team sits at the intersection of product, design, and engineering, making sure every decision is grounded in what our members actually need, feel, and experience.
As a User Researcher at Alan, you will gather and prioritize the most important questions from across the company, and design the right research to answer them. That means running interviews, diary studies, surveys, and usability sessions throughout the full product cycle, not just at the end. You'll then turn those findings into insights that are clear, compelling, and genuinely useful to the teams who need them.
You'll work hand in hand with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers, and collaborate closely with our analytics and data science teams to tell a complete story about our product. You'll also help grow research culture across Alan, sharing your craft and mentoring teammates along the way.
At Alan, great research drives great product. If you love figuring out what people truly need and translating that into decisions that matter, this role is for you.
⭐️ IF YOU HAVE SOME OF THE FOLLOWING, YOU MAY BE A GREAT FIT ⭐️
You may be a great fit at Alan if you have:
- 4+ years of experience as a product/user researcher in a tech environment, with strong hands-on expertise in qualitative methods: interviews, diary studies, think-aloud usability testing, and direct observation
- Solid quantitative research skills: you're comfortable with survey design, sampling, crosstabs, and core statistical concepts
- Sharp critical thinking: you quickly identify what research is worth doing, scope it efficiently, and deliver insights that are focused and actionable
- A strategic mindset: you know how to partner with product stakeholders, communicate the value of research, and tie your findings to concrete business impact
- Compelling communication skills: you turn complex findings into clear narratives that resonate with any audience
- Experience mentoring junior researchers or non-researchers, with the ability to give clear, actionable feedback that helps others grow
- You're close to AI. Either you've built AI products, or you follow the space closely and have a clear view on where to leverage and how LLM systems behave in production.
- You care about healthcare. Alan's mission has to genuinely matter to you. For us this is essential, not a nice-to-have.
- English fluency, written and spoken
- (As a plus) Fluency in French, Spanish, or another European language
For this role, we hire within the D-E level range.
🌍 HOW WE WORK
- Based in (or within commuting distance of) one of our hubs (Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, Brussels, Madrid, or Barcelona), with the ability to work onsite twice per week.
🎯 IMPORTANT NOTE: WE HIRE PEOPLE, NOT ROLES.
If you're excited about this opportunity but don't check every box, we'd love to hear from you. Everyone, no matter how underrepresented, should feel free to apply, as it can only bring learnings or success.
If you identify yourself as a woman: Did you know that research shows women often apply only when meeting 100% of requirements?
Remember, this is just a guide, not a checklist. We'll be thrilled to receive your application!

- Remote work experience: You’re familiar with remote-first work environments and can collaborate effectively across time zones.
- Entrepreneurial or early-stage experience: You’ve worn many hats and can navigate in many areas at once.
Why join us?
At n8n, your work won’t disappear into a slide deck. You’ll shape how engineering teams build, version, deploy, and operate mission-critical automations at scale — turning n8n into the platform where automation is treated with the same rigor as software. You’ll join a fast-growing, remote-first team with high autonomy, strong technical ambition, and direct visibility into enterprise customer impact.
Sound like a challenge you’re excited to take on?
Apply now — and help us build the future of automation.

HOW WE HIRE
Our process is designed to be straightforward and respectful of your time. We skip performative rounds and focus on what matters: understanding how you think and what you can do.
For this role, we use a take-home challenge that mirrors real work at Teleport — on your time, your way. You'll have support from the team throughout.
1. Zoom meeting with a Teleport recruiter. You’ll learn about the company, our products, compensation philosophy, interview process, and key requirements.
2. Zoom meeting with the Hiring Manager or a Lead Engineer. They will walk you through the coding challenge and answer your questions.
3. Coding challenge collaboration. The day after your meeting with the Hiring Manager or Lead Engineer, you join a Slack channel and complete a coding challenge in Go https://github.com/gravitational/careers/blob/main/challenges/sre/challenge.md using GitHub. The challenge usually takes about 2 weeks and ends with a Zoom meeting with the Hiring Manager and a member of the interview team to review your solution.
4. If your challenge solution meets our bar, you'll receive an offer to join Teleport.
Why Teleport
You're joining a company where the problem is real, the team is small, and your work shows up directly in the product. We're not a big company, you won't get lost in a crowd. The work is collaborative, there's real room to grow, and the mission is one worth showing up for.
