About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the team
Anthropic's Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team is the connective tissue that holds the company accountable to its security commitments. We translate regulatory, customer, and voluntary obligations into controls that teams act on, and give leadership a bird's-eye view of how well we're meeting them. We're building toward a fundamentally different kind of GRC: one that directs Claude, with the right humans in the loop, to challenge and evidence the performance of controls continuously rather than through periodic audits.
Within Security GRC, Audit & Assurance runs the integrated audit across our frameworks and maintains the Common Control Framework the program hangs off. This role sits in Audit & Assurance and helps run that integrated audit program, plan the audits we add next, and assess the frameworks and scope changes we are considering.
About the role
You'll help run Anthropic's unified audit program: quarterly audits across SOC 2, HIPAA and the ISO 27000 family including ISO 42001, plus the rest of our certifications, working with our audit firms, our GRC Partners, and control owners across the company. You'll plan new audits as we expand to new frameworks, platforms and regions, and run the gap assessments that tell us what each expansion takes before we commit to it.
You'll help build the audit operating model and runbook, and drive automation in the program so evidence is collected once and reused across frameworks, requests reach control owners once, and each audit cycle takes less effort than the last. Building with Claude is a normal part of the job, with you deciding where human judgment stays in the loop.
This is an individual contributor role for someone with program management experience who writes clearly, stays calm under deadlines, and likes making a busy program simpler.
Key responsibilities
Run the audit program as a program: one integrated plan and calendar across audits and expansions, with milestones, dependencies, risks and decisions tracked, and regular status to GRC leadership and stakeholders
Plan and run the quarterly audits, from scoping through report and findings closeout
Run audit readiness ahead of each fieldwork window: control owner prep, evidence pre-checks and walkthrough dry runs
Scope each audit's boundary with Product and Engineering: which products and deployment paths are in scope, and flag when a launch or new platform changes it
Help build the audit operating model and runbook for a unified audit program, and keep both current as the program grows
Drive automation in the program: evidence collected from source systems, request tracking and audit reporting, with evidence and walkthroughs reused across frameworks
Coordinate audits across frameworks and firms so audit windows line up and control owners are asked for the same evidence once, and drive new ways of automated evidence generation and collection with GRC Engineering
Plan new audits and audit expansions as we commit to them
Run framework and scope expansion evaluations and gap assessments, with a recommendation and an effort estimate leadership can act on
Work closely with control owners and GRC Partners: prepare control owners for audits, get evidence delivered and findings closed, and hand findings that need extended remediation to GRC Partners
Manage day-to-day auditor relationships, and report audit status, findings and program metrics to GRC leadership
Minimum qualifications
Several years of program management: running multi-workstream programs with a plan, milestones, dependencies, risk tracking and status reporting to leadership
Several years running external security audits (SOC 2 and ISO 27001 at minimum), on the company side or at an audit firm, including seasons with several frameworks at once
Working knowledge of SOC 2, the ISO 27000 family, ISO 42001 and HIPAA, and where their requirements overlap
Experience leading a gap assessment for a new framework or scope change and presenting the result to leadership
Experience building or improving an audit process: calendars, request tracking, runbooks, roles and responsibilities
Enough technical fluency to understand how evidence is produced in cloud environments and to judge whether a system-generated report is complete and accurate, and to build simple automations with Claude
Clear writing and calm coordination under deadline pressure
Ability to get control owners to deliver on time without authority over them
Preferred qualifications
Audit firm experience (Big 4 or a SOC 2 or ISO certification body), especially as a senior or manager on technology clients
Experience adding new frameworks such as PCI DSS, ISO 27701 or 27018, CSA STAR, or international schemes (for example IRAP, ISMAP or C5)
Have automated evidence collection or audit reporting, or use Claude or other LLMs day to day to plan, track and report program work
Experience with a GRC platform or building lightweight internal tooling
You don't need to
Have done everything on this list. The combination is running a global audit calendar well, plus the instinct to make it simpler each cycle
Hold every certification. CISA, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or similar are welcome but not required
Have prior AI industry experience
Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

About the role
The Endpoint team (Client Platform Engineering) manages the devices Anthropic’s people work on, plus the infrastructure underneath them. We treat the fleet as a distributed platform, not a collection of devices, and configuration ships as code through pull requests, CI, staging, and a canary group. Today the fleet is mostly macOS, with a growing mobile footprint.
Anthropic also works with vendor and business process outsourcing (BPO) partners whose teams need access to Anthropic systems. Those programs are growing, in more countries and with more vendors. Anthropic-owned Chromebooks issued to vendor staff are becoming the default device for vendor teams. This role exists to make ChromeOS a supported platform with a dedicated owner. You will own ChromeOS end to end, from how devices are bought and enrolled to how they are locked down, monitored, and retired, and help bring Android in as a second platform.
The team is deliberately lean and runs with high autonomy. You’ll define what ChromeOS looks like at Anthropic and own the platform decisions that get it there.
Responsibilities
Own ChromeOS as a platform at Anthropic: device standards, Google Admin console and Chrome Enterprise setup, organizational unit design, and policy
Manage ChromeOS policy as code through the Chrome Policy API, GAM, and Terraform, in the team's config-as-code pipeline, so changes are reviewed, tested, and progressively rolled out like the rest of the fleet
Build zero touch enrollment through resellers, so a Chromebook arrives enrolled and works the first time in every country our vendor partners work from
Work with IT Operations and procurement partners on buying and shipping devices internationally, including regions our current partners don’t reach
Design device models for vendor teams (kiosk, managed guest sessions, shared devices, and assigned devices) and pick the right one for each program
Lock devices down to what the work needs: copy and paste, downloads, printing, USB, and app and extension controls
Own the device lifecycle for vendor fleets, from enrollment to wipe, lock, and retrieval when an engagement ends
Feed ChromeOS device data into our fleet telemetry, tracking which devices are checking in, OS version, and drift between expected and actual state
Partner with Corporate Security on hardware standards (such as Verified Access attestation and minimum AUE date), device trust signals, and access decisions
Work with Security on the contractor access model and on keeping Anthropic data off vendor devices
Run data loss controls through Chrome Enterprise Premium
Work with Security on the vendor identity model: which accounts vendor staff use and in which tenant
Support Android as a second platform, working with the corporate mobile program on Android Enterprise and zero-touch enrollment
Write the runbooks IT Operations and vendor partners use to stand up a new program
You may be a good fit if you
Have owned ChromeOS as a platform for a fleet of thousands of devices
Know the Google Admin console and Chrome Enterprise well: OU design, device and user policy, enrollment, and reporting
Have automated ChromeOS policy through the Chrome Policy API or GAM
Have run kiosk, managed guest, or shared device programs for frontline, contact center, or outsourced teams
Have set up zero touch enrollment with resellers and shipped devices across several countries
Have worked with Android device management and can hold your own in a mixed fleet
Excel at ambiguous problems that touch several teams at once
Communicate technical concepts clearly to any audience, including vendor partners
View IT Engineering as requiring product engineering rigor
Write clear documentation as a natural part of your workflow
Strong candidates may also
Manage device configuration as code (pull requests, CI, staged rollout) instead of clicking in consoles
Have managed ChromeOS alongside macOS or mobile fleets
Have used VDI or browser-based access to keep data off the device for outsourced teams
Have supported BPO or vendor programs through fast growth into new regions
Have built automated, progressive rollout systems with promotion gated on telemetry
Have used LLMs to automate operational work, or are excited to make Claude a teammate
Technical Skills
Python and shell scripting
ChromeOS management through the Google Admin console and Chrome Enterprise
Google Admin SDK, Chrome Policy API, and GAM for automating policy and reporting
Android Enterprise management (working knowledge)
Querying live device state at fleet scale
GitOps and CI for configuration management
Endpoint security fundamentals
Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis.

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock and inspire performance for life. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.
WHOOP is hiring a Embedded Engineering Manager to build and lead a new embedded team for a next-generation wearable. The team owns the firmware that members interact with directly on the device: how it responds to them, how it presents their data, and how it feels to use every day. It takes that firmware from early prototypes through new product introduction and into production.
This role combines technical leadership with people management. You will lead a team of full-time and contract firmware engineers and grow it as the program scales. You will take part in architecture decisions with the program's technical leads, review the team's code, and own its delivery schedule. You won't be the team's primary developer, but you will be close enough to the code to step in when it helps. You will work closely with Product, Design, Hardware, and Quality, and with the firmware teams building sensors, connectivity, and power on the same device.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, manage, and mentor a team of embedded engineers through hiring, onboarding, feedback, performance management, and career development.
- Direct the work of contract engineers alongside full-time staff, holding both to the same design and code quality bar.
- Lead the team's delivery of the member's on-device experience firmware, from prototype through production release.
- Partner with the program's technical lead and senior engineers on architecture for responsive, power-efficient firmware on resource-constrained multi-core hardware.
- Serve as a player-coach who reviews code and shapes designs, contributing directly when the team needs it.
- Own the team's planning and delivery cadence, keeping scope, dependencies, and risk visible to partners and leadership.
- Partner with Product and Design to turn member experience goals into firmware requirements that fit the hardware's memory, compute, and power budgets.
- Set engineering practices for testing, hardware-in-the-loop validation, release readiness, and field diagnostics.
- Foster a culture of high standards, direct feedback, accountability, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of embedded firmware development in C or C++, including experience as an engineering manager or team lead responsible for mentorship, feedback, and career development.
- Experience shipping firmware in a consumer electronics product, from early hardware bring-up through production.
- Hands-on experience with an RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, or similar) on microcontrollers or embedded SoCs.
- Experience optimizing firmware for performance, memory, and power on constrained hardware.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver in ambiguous environments, including early-stage hardware programs where requirements are still forming.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to Product, Design, and leadership.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work meets the same quality bar as personal contributions.
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
Interested in the role, but don’t meet every qualification? We encourage you to still apply! At WHOOP, we believe there is much more to a candidate than what is written on paper, and we value character as much as experience. As we continue to build a diverse and inclusive environment, we encourage anyone who is interested in this role to apply.
WHOOP is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-verify https://www.e-verify.gov/ to determine employment eligibility. It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability.
The WHOOP compensation philosophy is designed to attract, motivate, and retain exceptional talent by offering competitive base salaries, meaningful equity, and consistent pay practices that reflect our mission and core values.
At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the long-term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the company’s long-term growth and success.
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$215,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.

About the role
We are looking for a Principal Engineer to help define and drive the next generation of GitLab’s Fulfillment platform.
Fulfillment ensures that customers receive the right product access and can manage seats, usage, and spend across GitLab.com, Self-Managed, Dedicated, and other deployment models. Its core areas include entitlements, licensing and provisioning, seat management, usage visibility, and cost management.
The existing platform has served GitLab for approximately a decade and now faces significant challenges in scale, maintainability, and architectural complexity. This role will help us understand where we are today and define how Fulfillment should work over the next ten years.
This is a senior player-coach role. You will set architectural direction across the Fulfillment portfolio, make critical technical decisions, and work directly with teams to execute the resulting modernization strategy. You will influence across organizational boundaries while remaining hands-on in design, implementation, technical problem-solving, and mentorship.
What you’ll do
Define and communicate the long-term architecture and technical strategy for Fulfillment, including target state, principles, priorities, and migration sequencing.
Assess the current platform and address its most important risks across scale, reliability, performance, data correctness, operability, and maintainability.
Drive architectural decisions across entitlements, provisioning, seat management, usage visibility, and cost management.
Establish clear service boundaries, data ownership, contracts, and integration patterns across Fulfillment, Monetization, billing, Salesforce, and product services.
Lead an incremental modernization program that improves the existing platform while continuing to deliver customer and business value.
Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Management, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn architectural direction into executable roadmaps and shipped outcomes.
Be hands-on with the hardest problems, including prototypes, critical implementations, migrations, performance improvements, reliability work, and incident learning.
Champion practical artificial intelligence (AI) adoption across Fulfillment, including agentic coding and AI-assisted engineering workflows, and help teams apply these tools responsibly and effectively.
Mentor and coach Senior and Staff Engineers and raise the quality of technical decision-making across the organization.
What you’ll bring
10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience at Staff, Principal, or equivalent technical leadership level.
Direct experience building, operating, or modernizing Fulfillment systems, including areas such as entitlements, licensing, provisioning, subscription lifecycle, seat management, usage metering, usage billing, or cost controls.
A track record of setting technical direction across multiple teams and turning architecture into reliable, operated systems.
Deep experience with distributed systems, scalability, availability, performance, observability, data integrity, and failure-mode analysis.
Comfort working in one or more of Ruby, Go, and Python, with the ability to navigate both Backend and Frontend in a polyglot system.
Practical experience using artificial intelligence in software engineering, including agentic coding or AI-assisted development workflows.
Demonstrated success modernizing mature or degraded platforms without relying on a risky “big bang” rewrite.
Experience designing systems that span multiple deployment models, such as software as a service, Self-Managed, Dedicated, or disconnected environments.
Strong product and business judgment, with the ability to connect technical investment to customer experience, revenue, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and time to market.
Excellent written communication and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across teams without formal authority.

About the role
The vision for Claude Marketplace is to create an ecosystem flywheel, connecting builders and buyers. We're hiring a Product Manager to own the Marketplace as a product, for the partners who sell on it and the customers who buy through it. You'll work closely with the Marketplace team, which owns the partner and customer relationships as well as the commercial motion, and build on systems owned by other product and engineering teams. You'll have a lot of room to define and build the experience fitting for an AI native world.
Key responsibilities
Own the Marketplace product end to end for partners and customers, from onboarding and listing through purchase and billing
Design the commercial workflows behind the Marketplace from first principles, so they scale and meet partners' and customers' finance, audit and compliance requirements
Shape the business strategy and commercial incentives with Business Development, Finance and Legal, and build them into the product
Be the product voice partners hear from, and turn signals from partners, customers and the field into a roadmap
Define the Marketplace's success metrics and how they're measured
Minimum qualifications
Have owned a product end to end, including the operational workflows behind it, and were the person accountable for its outcomes
Have built with or shipped on top of large language models, and have used them to make a product experience better
Have led cross-functional work where most of the teams you depended on didn't report to you, and earned their trust quickly
Can present to executives at partner companies and represent Anthropic well in front of them
Write clearly enough that an engineer, an executive and an external partner can each see the tradeoff you're making
Care about Anthropic's mission, and specifically about building an ecosystem where the companies that build on Claude grow along with it
Preferred qualifications
8+ years of product management experience
Played an active role in a marketplace, app store or partner ecosystem, on either the platform or the partner side
Taken a product from zero to one, where the users, the product and the economics all had to be worked out at once
Go-to-market instincts: how co-sell motions, partner programs and platform economics work in enterprise software
Experience/familiarity with high growth AI native companies, including their business models and growth vectors
Location
San Francisco, New York City or Seattle.

About the Role:
As the 2nd-line leader for the Applied AI Industries team in Southern Europe and the Middle-East at Anthropic, you will drive the adoption of frontier AI in partnership with the rest of the go to market organization. Our Industries customers in France, Iberia and Italy include many of the region's largest enterprises across financial services, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, telecom, retail, energy, and other sectors. You'll leverage your experience building and leading technical sales teams to drive positive AI transformation that addresses our customers' business needs, meets their technical and regulatory requirements, and provides a high degree of reliability and safety.
You will be responsible for leading and growing the solutions architect team that partners with account executives to help companies adopt and deploy Anthropic's products, including Claude Cowork, Claude Code, and the Claude Development Platform (our API). This will include leveraging your technical skills and consultative sales experience to hire great 1st line managers and individual contributors, establish processes to scale your team, and represent Anthropic directly at strategic customer engagements. Your team covers several countries and industries at once, so you will be responsible for thinking strategically about complex industry accounts and for identifying and rolling out solutions that resonate in each market, with its own language, business culture, and regulatory context.
Responsibilities:
Hire, manage, and guide a team of 1st line managers who will in turn build teams of pre-sales Applied AI Architects across France, Iberia and Italy.
Set goals for your team in collaboration with sales leadership and establish baseline expectations for performance across your team.
Act as a technical and executive sponsor for high-value strategic customers in the region and advise them on their overall AI adoption strategies or use case scoping and pilot execution.
Partner closely with Southern Europe sales leadership (also covering the Middle-East and Africa) to build strategies for complex industry accounts and identify new ways to drive adoption of Anthropic products within specific verticals or horizontal use cases.
Help customers navigate local and European regulatory requirements (for example the EU AI Act, GDPR, DORA, and data residency expectations) and adapt how your team engages to the business culture of each market.
Work with cross-functional teams like product and engineering to ensure Anthropic prioritizes customer feedback or resolves blockers to adoption in the region.
Travel regularly across Southern Europe to customers or conferences for executive-level sessions, technical workshops, and relationship building.
Establish a shared vision for creating solutions that enable beneficial and safe AI in technology products.
Contribute to thought leadership through conference presentations, webinars, and technical content creation.
Stay current with emerging AI trends and the competitive landscape.
You may be a good fit if you:
7+ years of technical pre-sales management experience, including 2nd-line leadership or above (leading managers).
Have sold complex technical products to large enterprises in France, Iberia, Italy, the Middle-East and Africa.
Have worked across multiple industries, such as financial services, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, telecom, retail, and energy.
Understand the cultural differences between Southern European markets and the regulatory context your customers operate in, and adapt your approach to each.
Think highly strategically about complex industry accounts, and turn that thinking into plans your team and sales counterparts can execute.
Have deep technical proficiency with enterprise AI use cases, API integrations, and LLM deployments.
Thrive in building and rapidly scaling teams and processes within ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
Have excellent communication, collaboration, and coaching abilities.
Strong executive presence and ability to foster deep relationships with business and technical leaders at the region's largest companies.
Have at least a high level familiarity with the architecture and operation of LLMs.
Have a passion for making powerful technology safe and societally beneficial.
Stay up-to-date and informed by taking an active interest in emerging research and industry trends within AI.
Strong candidates may have:
Enterprise pre-sales leadership at scale:
5+ years leading solution architect teams through hypergrowth (ideally dozens of people across several countries), with direct experience leading managers and developing talent in complex enterprise software sales environments.
Multilingual and multicultural range:
In addition to English, fluency in one or more of French, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese, and experience leading teams distributed across several countries.
Experience with consumption business models:
Ideal candidates have built GTM frameworks anchored on consumption, not just SaaS-based licenses.
AI Technical Depth + Executive Engagement:
Hands-on experience with AI platforms and enterprise integration patterns, combined with proven track record engaging C-level stakeholders in €10M+ technical evaluations and enterprise sales cycles.
Multi-industry GTM experience in regulated sectors:
Demonstrated success adapting technical approaches to different verticals, in particular regulated ones such as banking, insurance, and healthcare, including working with risk, compliance, and works council stakeholders.

Own 3P SOX controls, including design, documentation, gap remediation and audit evidence.
Partner with FP&A, Treasury, AR and business teams on forecasts, cash and partner disputes.
Minimum qualifications
Have strong ASC 606 knowledge, especially principal-vs-agent, variable consideration, consideration payable to a customer, and consumption-based revenue.
Have owned a month-end close with tight deadlines and reviewed journal entries, reconciliations and flux analysis.
Have built revenue reporting from large, imperfect third-party data sets and reconciled it to the general ledger.
Have managed external partner relationships where you depended on their data, and pushed for fixes.
Have strong SQL skills (BigQuery or similar) and experience automating close workbooks or reconciliations.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is seeking a Program Manager to join our Accounting organization and help it run as one global team. Accounting is scaling at an unprecedented pace across multiple hubs, and the goals, rhythms, programs, and people that make up the team need to stay connected as we grow. In this role, you will own that connective tissue: the annual goal-setting cycle, the leadership team’s operating cadence, org-wide events and internal communications, and the programs that make a distributed team feel like one.
You will partner with Accounting leadership, the People team, Finance Systems, and hub leads. This is a hands-on role with a lot of range: part chief of staff, part program manager, part culture builder.
Responsibilities
Goals and operating rhythm
Run the annual goal setting process and the reporting that tracks progress against those goals.
Look at how the org actually operates (meetings, handoffs, planning cycles, decision making) and fix what isn't working.
Maintain one org-wide planning calendar that shows close, audit, and team milestones alongside company-wide and team events, so leaders can see the pressure points and plan around them.
Build and maintain a simple set of org health metrics (attrition, engagement scores, hiring pipeline, training completion, survey trends) and report on them regularly.
Leadership and org-wide events
Run our extended leadership team (XLT) program, including agendas, meetings, follow-ups, and action items.
Own planning and agenda for the annual offsite and run the quarterly team all-hands.
Write the internal updates: a regular team newsletter, plus talking points when leadership needs to explain a change to the whole org.
People and culture
Coordinate projects across the org that support employee experience programs.
Partner with the People team to roll out training and development programs for Accounting.
Review team survey results, identify the themes, and build action plans to address the feedback. Follow through and report back to the team.
Run hub programs, including visit and rotation programs, local hub events, and meeting norms that work across time zones, so we feel like one global team.
Run recognition and team rituals: wins, milestones, anniversaries, and peer recognition, especially across hubs.
Team operations
Support contractor management, including onboarding, tracking, and coordination with the right partners.
Keep the team's knowledge base current: wiki, org charts, role descriptions, and key process docs.
Keep the team calendar accurate so everyone knows what's coming.
Preferred qualifications
7+ years in program management, operations, chief of staff, or strategy roles. Experience inside a finance or accounting org is a plus, but not required.
A track record of running recurring programs end to end and getting people to follow through without formal authority.
Good judgment about what matters and what doesn't. You can handle a lot of moving pieces without dropping them.
Clear, direct writing. You can brief a senior leader in a few sentences.
Comfort with confidential information and sensitive people topics.
Experience supporting distributed or global teams.
You're organized, but you also know when a process is getting in the way and should be simplified.

Where and how you can work
We support a flexible working model that empowers you to balance your professional and personal life. You'll have the option to work in a hybrid capacity, combining the focus of remote work with the collaboration of our office spaces and team boost days to foster connection and alignment.
Here are some of the things we're looking for, for this role
- You'll bring a strong track record of leading, coaching and developing engineers, building team capability and creating an environment where people can do their best work.
- You have strong technical judgement across architecture, system design and engineering trade-offs, and can guide decisions across a broad and evolving technology landscape.
- You've translated business goals into executable engineering plans, balancing near-term delivery with long-term technical health and maintainability.
- You're experienced in delivering roadmaps predictably in fast-paced, evolving environments, navigating ambiguity and adapting as priorities and technology change.
- You understand what it takes to build and operate production-grade software, from customer-facing experiences and backend services through to distributed systems, platforms and infrastructure.
- You stay hands-on when it counts, comfortable writing, reviewing or debugging production code to unblock your team, support an incident or help resolve a complex technical challenge.
- Experience with machine learning, generative AI or AI-powered products is a bonus rather than a requirement. You don't need to be an ML specialist, but genuine curiosity about the space and an appetite to learn how these technologies are changing software engineering will help you thrive here.
Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.

About the Role
Anthropic manages one of the largest and fastest-growing infrastructure fleets in the industry — spanning multiple accelerator families, cpu families and clouds. The Capacity Engineering team is responsible for making sure all our infrastructure resources are accounted for, well-utilized, and efficiently allocated. We own the data, tooling, and operational systems that let Anthropic plan, measure, and maximize utilization across first-party and third-party compute.
As an engineer on Capacity Engineering, you will build the production systems that power this work: data pipelines that ingest and normalize telemetry from heterogeneous cloud environments, observability tooling that gives the org real-time visibility into fleet health, and performance instrumentation that measures how efficiently every major workload uses the hardware it’s running on. You will be expected to write production-quality code every day, operate alongside Kubernetes-native infrastructure at meaningful scale, and directly influence decisions around one of Anthropic’s largest areas of spend.
You’ll collaborate closely with research engineering, infrastructure, inference, and finance teams. The work requires someone who can move between data engineering, systems engineering, and observability with comfort — and who thrives in a high-autonomy, high-ambiguity environment.
This is a pipeline role feeding four areas.
Depending on your background and business priority, you’ll focus primarily in one, but the boundaries are fluid and the problems overlap:
Data platform
Pipelines that ingest occupancy and utilization telemetry from Kubernetes clusters, normalize billing and usage across cloud providers, and serve the BigQuery tables the rest of the org queries against. Correctness, completeness, and latency are the job, not a footnote. Consumers range from research engineers to finance to leadership, so it's product work as much as engineering: defining schema contracts, making data discoverable, and figuring out what people actually need.
Planning
Knowing what the fleet has, where it's going, and what's in the way. Making the state of the fleet legible and actionable in real time: cluster health tooling, capacity planning platforms, alerting on occupancy drops and allocation problems, and systemic fixes to scheduling and fragmentation. Kubernetes operations on one side, cross-team coordination on the other.
Efficiency
Measuring and improving how effectively every major workload uses the hardware it runs on. Instrumenting utilization across training, inference, and eval systems, building benchmarking infrastructure, establishing per-config baselines, and working directly with system-owning teams to close the gaps. The metric has to be good enough that the team on the hook for it agrees with the number.
Attribution and forecasting
Connecting what the fleet costs to what the business is doing with it. Reconciling CSP billing exports against vendor telemetry and internal systems with mismatched schemas, attributing spend to the workloads and teams that generate it, and turning inference demand signals and research roadmaps into a defensible compute plan. Efficiency metrics have to survive contact with finance: stripped of pure demand and unit-price effects, reproducible month over month, and legible to a CFO.
Key responsibilities
Build the planning and allocation stack — the tools leadership uses to allocate capacity, teams use to plan against their allocations, and the scheduler enforces. Cross-region and cross-provider placement, guardrails, queueing, occupancy KPIs.
Drive the efficiency programs: stranding and rightsizing, unused capacity recovery, and job-level utilization across training, inference, and eval. Establish per-config baselines and work with system-owning teams to close the gaps. Utilization improvements are worth enormous sums at our scale.
Own attribution and forecasting — reconcile billing across ten-plus providers against telemetry and internal systems, attribute spend to the workloads that generate it, and turn demand signals and research roadmaps into a defensible compute plan and supply pipeline.
Build the data platform underneath all of it: pipelines ingesting occupancy, utilization, and cost from a rapidly diversifying fleet into BigQuery, with real ownership of completeness, latency SLOs, and gap detection. Every new provider is a net-new integration.
Operate Kubernetes-native systems at scale — collection agents, workload labeling, and the taint/reservation/scheduling behavior that determines what capacity is actually usable.
Treat the output as a product, not a pipeline. Gather your own requirements, define schema contracts, and design for consumers ranging from research engineers to a CFO — including on-call and SLOs, because these surfaces are load-bearing for the company.
What you bring
A strong track record building and operating production systems. This is a hands-on engineering role with a devops flavor.
Python and SQL at production quality. Most pipeline code is Python; the presentation layer is BigQuery SQL, including table-valued functions and views. Both need to be idiomatic, well-tested, and maintainable.
Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) and its operations
Experience with observability tooling stack, including Prometheus, PromQL, and Grafana, including writing recording rules and building monitoring that engineering teams rely on.
Ability to gather your own requirements and work across organizational boundaries in an ambiguous environment with limited direction.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with capacity planning, resource management, or cost attribution systems at a hyperscaler or in a large-scale machine learning environment. Time spent in product engineering and developer experience absolutely counts here.
Scheduling and packing efficiency experience, or profiling-driven optimization of large distributed workloads.
Multi-cloud data ingestion experience, especially normalizing billing exports, reservation APIs, on-demand capacity reservations, commitments, and vendor telemetry from providers with different billing arrangements.
Total cost of ownership and forecasting experience, including decomposing whether infrastructure growth is causal or correlated with business drivers.
Accelerator infrastructure familiarity. GPU metrics (DCGM), TPU utilization, Trainium power and utilization metrics, or experience with machine learning training and inference systems at the hardware level.
Experience building internal data products with self-service access, schema contracts, API serving, documentation, and discoverability. Not just pipelines, but thinking about how the data gets consumed.
Storage efficiency, retention, and lifecycle program experience at exabyte scale.
