An overview of this role
As a Staff Backend Engineer on GitLab's Security Factory: Code Scanning team, you help developers find and fix security issues. Those issues live in the code they write, and you set the technical direction for the static analysis engine that finds them.
Your work spans two complementary parts of a complete security analysis. On the engine side, you shape how the static analysis toolkit models a program: parsing source into intermediate representations, resolving symbols, building call graphs, and tracking tainted data across files and languages. You define the architecture and specifications the team builds against, and you delegate component specifications within them to engineers and to the AI agents that implement them. On the evaluation side, you build and apply tooling that tests, measures, and validates what the engine finds against benchmark applications with known vulnerabilities.
What the engine can model and how we measure what it finds are parts of one picture. As a Staff engineer you hold that picture, shape the long-range technical goals of the team, and raise the bar for every engineer on it. We build the engine with AI agents that write and review code from written specifications, under human direction. We expect you to direct that work effectively and with good judgment, and to help the team do the same.
What you do
Act as the directly responsible individual (DRI) for the team's highest-scope initiatives from design through delivery, shipping large features with minimal guidance and shaping the long-range goals of the team
Bring systems built by one engineer to team ownership through documentation, tests, and shared review
Set the technical direction for the AI-assisted tooling that implements, reviews, and validates engine changes and findings, design the checks that decide whether an agent-written change or generated result is fit to merge, and measure detection quality against benchmark applications with known vulnerabilities, raising the bar for what counts as a trustworthy result. That includes static application security testing (SAST) rules mapped to CWE and OWASP, and the test fixtures that prove they work.
Own the architecture of the program model (parsing, symbol resolution, intermediate representations, call graphs, and taint and data-flow analysis) and of the pipeline that turns source code into findings, and define how both extend to new languages and frameworks
Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity, actively seek out difficult impediments affecting the whole team, and advocate for improvements to quality, security, and performance with Product Management, UX, and partner teams such as Code Security and Composition Analysis
Mentor all engineers on the team through code review and pairing, remove blockers to their autonomy, and shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards through review
Participate in on-call rotations to assist troubleshooting product operations, security operations, and urgent engineering issues
Define the overarching architecture and specification documents for the engine, delegate component specifications within them, and drive their implementation by AI agents and engineers working independently through phased plans, small reviewable units of change, and specifications kept in lockstep with the code
Build and maintain the harness, agent instructions, and agentic skills that keep agent-written code trustworthy, including separate coding and reviewing agents, rules and tests the coding agents cannot change, independent review panels of agents from different model providers, and performance, API, and dependency gates, with risky changes escalated to human review
Stay current with research in program analysis and security, run AI-assisted research and spikes, and turn the findings into prototypes, proposals, and upstream contributions, including responsible disclosure of findings in open source projects
What you bring
Experience building your own LLM tooling, such as a harness, an agent pipeline, or evaluations, with the judgment to know when output is trustworthy and when it isn't
Extensive professional experience writing, testing, and reviewing production code in Rust, Go, or a comparable systems language, with depth in at least one. The engine is Rust, the analyzer wrapper is Go, and the monolith integration is Ruby, and we value willingness to work across them.
Experience with performance optimization and with containerized workflows and CI/CD (we use Docker heavily)
A deep program analysis and static analysis background, such as parsing and ASTs, intermediate representations (SSA, control-flow and call graphs), taint and data-flow analysis, type inference, incremental and fixpoint computation, or writing detection rules, with the ability to read, evaluate, and apply the research literature
Deep application security experience, such as vulnerability research, secure code review, or writing detection rules, and fluency with vulnerability classes (OWASP Top 10, CWE)
Demonstrated capacity to communicate clearly and concisely about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems, and to write architecture and design specifications that bring a team to a decision
A track record of taking ownership of ambiguous, team-wide problems and shipping them from concept to production with minimal guidance, with specific, regular async updates on progress, blockers, risks, and next steps
Experience defining a system's overarching architecture, delegating component specifications to engineers and AI agents, and getting them implemented reliably
A track record of mentoring engineers, raising a team's technical bar, and influencing technical direction by achieving consensus with peers and leadership
Helpful experience
Familiarity with popular web or mobile application frameworks and how they handle input, data, and configuration
Experience designing guardrails for agent-written code, such as mutation testing, fuzzing, and CI gates the coding agent cannot modify
A record of engaging with the research community, such as publications, tool papers, or upstream open source contributions in program analysis or security
About the team
The Security Factory: Code Scanning team develops GitLab's SAST capabilities for customer software repositories.
We work closely with the Code Security team on scanning rules & flows, with Composition Analysis on the broader software supply chain, and with other groups across the Sec Section. We rely heavily on asynchronous work across time zones.

About the job
QV.AC
is a general purpose AI assistant that runs locally on your devices. It gives people real control over their data and how they use AI. No cloud dependency, no data harvesting, and no one else's servers between you and your assistant. Our focus is local, on-device, privacy-preserving AI, connected across Tether's peer-to-peer ecosystem. We're building the AI assistant people actually own. Product sets the direction.
We're looking for a Product Engineering Lead to turn that direction into features people love, built to a standard that holds up on real devices with real constraints. You lead the teams that build QV.AC's features and app experience on top of our local AI stack, each with its own lead. You report directly to the CTO and take direction from product. Product owns the what and the why. You own the how and the engineering bar.
The split is roughly 70% engineering leadership and 30% product. You're a combination of three things. You're an engineering leader who has helped teams ship consumer products at speed. You have real product sense and can partner with PMs as an equal, shaping what gets built, not just executing it. And you have an intuition for AI systems and their limits, so you can turn emerging capabilities into features that work reliably on-device, without needing to build the models yourself.
Responsibilities
Engineering
- Run the app and feature teams day to day: unblocking, reviewing, and keeping them shipping.- Set and hold a high engineering bar for performance, reliability, and clean APIs.- Own the technical design of features and the API surface between our AI core and the app.- Make sure your teams work closely with our AI research and deep tech teams on code reviews, design, and anything that touches models or inference.
Product Partnership
- Work alongside QV.AC's product managers to turn vision and roadmap into scoped, buildable work.- Push back when scope and reality don't match, and propose better paths when they exist.- Bring an engineering perspective to product decisions, especially on what local models can do well today and what they can't yet.- Help the team move fast, using AI tools and quick prototypes to validate ideas before committing to them.
Leadership
- Create clarity around team goals and make sure everyone knows what success looks like.- Mentor team leads to build strong team operating systems, improve how their teams work with others, and grow as leaders.- Lead by example: roll up your sleeves when the team needs it, and step back when they're ready to own it.
Mandatory:
Experience
managing engineers or engineering leads
who ship consumer product, ideally AI-powered apps.
Strong product sense
: you can tell a good feature from a busy one.
Intuition for applied AI and on-device constraints
: model size, latency, memory, battery, and the gap between a good demo and a reliable feature. You don't need ML research expertise, because our core abstracts it away.
You
use AI tools heavily in your own work
and enjoy experimenting with new models and capabilities.
Deep
JavaScript and React
.
Initiative, curiosity, resilience
, and the ability to
give and receive direct critique.
Preferred:
Bonus:
Experience with
local or on-device inference, LLM evals, cross-platform mobile and desktop apps, or open source
.

Preferred:
Bonus:
Experience with
local or on-device inference, LLM evals, cross-platform mobile and desktop apps, or open source
.

About the Job:
We're looking for a senior security leader to run our Product Security team and partner to the Director of Security. In this role, you'll own how Security operates: a program led by risk rather than audit calendars, where engineering teams own their security health and Security informs, guides, and validates, where automation and AI take the first pass on every finding, and where posture is measured and published to executives every quarter. You'll build that model, starting with Product Security and extending across the division.
You'll bring a balance of people management, security judgment, and program leadership as you manage a team of security engineers, act as incident manager of record, hold delegated approval for vendor and access decisions, and run the division when the Director is in an audit, a board cycle, or on vacation. You'll work closely with every engineering team to make the secure path the easy one.
Responsibilities:
Manage the portfolio of your team's work, appropriately managing everyone's time and assigning them to the highest priority work.
Help your team and the engineering organization make sense of, and simplify, how security work gets done: who owns what, what is automated, and what Security stops doing.
Guide product engineering teams in owning their own security health: findings route to them with mapped severity, Security reviews and validates rather than fixes, and each team sees its security health in its own service review.
Own the wiring and routing of security findings and requests, driving down noise and the human-decision rate across intake, triage, and review.
Serve as incident manager of record for security incidents: first escalation for our service-level commitments, delegated approver for vendor and access decisions, and cover for the Director's operational duties.
Publish posture: monthly service-level attainment to engineering, quarterly posture to the executive team, and a risk register that drives priorities.
About You:
You have led a security team out of the gatekeeper model once already, and you can say what teams owned afterward, what Security stopped doing, and what the numbers did.
You think in risk, not control lists, and you would rather defend a priority call than a checklist.
You treat automation and AI as the first responder and yourself as the escalation path.
You have been the second leader to a director or CISO and know which decisions to make in their name.
You have run security incidents end to end, including the comms and the review afterward.
You were a strong Senior or Staff security engineer before you managed, and you can still read a PR, a threat model, or a cloud finding and make a call.
You track and drive metrics, and you understand what they can and can't tell you.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a formal security or engineering management role, including managing senior engineers.
Experience moving a security function from gatekeeper to team ownership, with measurable results.
Experience as incident manager for security incidents at a SaaS company, including external communication.
Experience guiding teams through technical tradeoffs and developing senior engineers' careers.
The ability to track and drive metrics, and the wisdom to understand what they can and can't tell you.
Familiarity with AWS security at scale and with external audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP) as a participant or control owner.
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A thoughtful, empathetic approach to leadership and collaboration.

We are looking for a hands-on, proactive Warehouse Inbound & Returns Supervisor to lead our morning-shift team. In this role, you won't just oversee standard receiving; you will also manage our high-volume returns processing operations.
You will lead a dedicated team of 15 to 17 associates across both departments, ensuring we meet our commitments to top active lifestyle brands. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, love building up a team, and have a sharp eye for process improvements, we want to hear from you!
What You Will Do:
Lead the Floor:
Directly supervise 5–7 receiving associates and roughly 10 returns processing team members.
Manage Inbound Flows:
Ensure all incoming shipments are unloaded, checked, and put away in racking quickly according to our strict deadlines.
Oversee Returns & Repackaging:
Direct the team sorting through customer returns. Decide what is damaged and what can be safely repackaged for future customer orders.
Plan Labor:
Review upcoming shipment loads and coordinate with internal client service teams to ensure you have the right headcount scheduled daily.
Train & Coach:
Build a multi-skilled team through continuous on-the-floor training, performance feedback, and cross-training.
Keep It Safe:
Drive a culture of safety across your assigned zone, identifying hazards and ensuring your team follows warehouse safety compliance.
What You Bring:
Experience:
3+ years of experience leading a logistics team, specifically within receiving, inbound, or returns processing.
Tech Literacy:
Strong experience working daily with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Outlook.
Physical Ability:
Able to stand and walk on the concrete floor for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and climb warehouse ladders or stairs.
Communication:
Strong verbal communication skills. Being bilingual in Spanish and English is a massive plus, but not required.
Education:
A high school diploma is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain is a plus.
2. "Why Apply?" Candidate Pitch
Double Exposure Leadership:
This isn’t a one-dimensional receiving role. You get to dual-manage standard inbound freight and e-commerce returns, significantly building your operational resume.
Real Career Growth:
The local footprint is expanding fast. A brand-new facility is opening locally in Q1, meaning plenty of room for upward mobility and future leadership paths as operations grow.
Work-Life Balance Culture:
Unlike third-party logistics (3PL) providers that force mandatory 70-hour weeks for months at a time, this company values labor management. Peak season operations are carefully managed to prevent leadership burnout.
Premium Clients:
You get to work directly with high-demand products from major companies in the active lifestyle space.

adjoe builds the technologies behind mobile apps growth and monetization. With our core product Playtime Arcade, we've become the global leader in rewarded advertising, an ad unit built on a simple premise: users earn real in-app rewards for engaging with new apps. The result is one of the most effective value exchanges in adtech, connecting advertisers and publishers with over 770 million users annually.
Investigating 770 Million User Interactions Across a 100TB Data Lake
When a platform serves 770 million users, every optimization from reward mechanics to SDK integrations needs to be grounded in data. The Rewarded Analytics team builds the internal dashboards, alerting systems, and data pipelines that monitor the user funnel, traffic engagement, and reward consistency.
SQL and Python power deep-dive investigations and automated 100 terabyte-sized data analyses queried through Trino. Using Tableau as the main visualization tool, stakeholders have access to real-time insights on the product performance. Airflow orchestrates the pipelines that keep everything up to date. This team provides the data that turns questions into answers: every A/B experiment the product team runs, every anomaly a publisher flags, and every new SDK integration. These answers guide all the business decisions.
Your Mission & Who We Are Looking For:
- Data analyst with a strong technical foundation. You have 5+ years as a Data Analyst and work fluently in both SQL and Python, writing complex queries, big data optimizations, and analysis pipelines to support product and growth initiatives.
- Master of experimentation and A/B testing. You have deep experience designing experiments, calculating sample sizes, managing variance reduction techniques, and analyzing A/B/n tests to ensure statistically sound business decisions.
- Statistically grounded. You can reason confidently about core statistical concepts—hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, p-values, power analysis, and Bayesian vs. Frequentist approaches—and apply them to real-world product decisions.
- Not a stranger to anomaly detection. You have experience working with anomaly detection algorithms and approaches like distribution analysis and cross-population comparison to monitor test guardrail metrics and identify unexpected shifts in experiment data.
- You own the systems, not just your slice. You understand the end-to-end telemetry and feature flagging systems that power experimentation. You can speak to data flows, event tracking pipelines, architecture tradeoffs, and why things were built the way they were.
- Automation-minded across the stack. You think beyond one-off test analyses and build automated experiment reporting dashboards, reusable analytical frameworks, and data visibility solutions. Experience with dbt, Airflow, or experiment platforms (e.g., Optimizely, GrowthBook) is a strong plus.
- Collaborative and business-aware. You work closely with product managers, engineers, and growth leads to translate complex statistical results into clear, actionable recommendations that drive executive decision-making.
🌎 We welcome applications from talent worldwide and provide relocation support to Hamburg, Germany for those ready to join our team.
What’s in It for You?
At adjoe, you’re not here to just close JIRA tickets, you’re helping build the infrastructure behind one of the most impactful platforms in adtech. The systems you work on will reach hundreds of millions of users and power billions of decisions every day.
- Go Big. Own projects with impact on 770M users and push adtech boundaries.
- Move Fast. Ship solutions multiple times a day, learn from results, and keep momentum.
- Be Direct. Solve problems openly and collaborate across teams.
- Thrive Together. Grow with a diverse, global team of people from over 40 different countries that learn from each other.
- Have Fun. Celebrate wins, enjoy daily victories, and bring your energy.
We welcome applications from people who will contribute to the diversity of our company.
