Hybrid Role - 1 day a week in the office
Who we are
The
Direct to Consumer (D2C) Data Science
organisation comprises Data Science, Data Engineering and ML Engineering practices. D2C Data Science helps PlayStation grow and operate its digital business across commerce, subscriptions, payments, lifecycle experiences and player-facing services. We partner with product, engineering, finance, marketing and operations teams to turn experimentation, forecasting, AI and production-quality measurement into better player experiences.
Role overview
Within D2C Data Science, the D2C ML Engineering team is seeking a software engineer to help design, build, and support production AI platform capabilities that solve high-value business problems across the broader digital commerce ecosystem. This is not a model-training or predictive-platform ownership role; it is an engineering role focused on turning AI into dependable products, services, and automation.
The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer with backend experience and practical hands-on applied AI experience.
What you’ll be doing:
Create services, workflows, and reusable components for LLM-powered solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand use cases, identify if and how AI could be used, prototype solutions, measure outcomes, and help move proven capabilities into production.
Develop scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven workflows in Python or Java, with attention to reliability, resilience, security, cost efficiency, and clean integration with existing services.
What we’re looking for:
Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or related with 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Hands-on experience building AI or generative AI features that connect model APIs to business workflows, data, documents, or internal services.
Strong software engineering skills in Python and/or Java, including API development, testing, debugging, asynchronous processing, and maintainable service design.
Experience with AWS or equivalent cloud services
Possesses exceptional communication skills, able to turn business requirements into technical tasks, collaborate across teams, and explain AI tradeoffs in clear, practical terms.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with AI orchestration patterns
Experience supporting a production system
Familiarity with Model Context Protocol
Experience with text, image, document, audio, or video models, including multimodal embeddings, OCR/document understanding, or content moderation workflows.
Please note, Sony Interactive Entertainment conducts background checks at the offer stage for all new employees (which may include criminal background checks for some roles) and will need to process personal information to support these checks.

Experimentation & Business Impact:
Design A/B tests and statistical evaluations to measure model performance against key business metrics (reduced fraud losses, transaction acceptance rates, decision latency).
R&D & Technical Leadership:
Explore emerging techniques (LLMs/GenAI, graph-based methods), establish engineering best practices, and mentor fellow team members.
Requirements (Must-Have):
Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science / ML, with a strong focus on
designing and building new ML models from scratch
and delivering them into production with measurable business impact.
English:
B2+ (Upper-Intermediate or higher)
— fluent written and spoken communication for technical discussions and daily collaboration with an international team.
Math & Modeling Foundations:
Deep understanding of statistics, probability, and validation methodologies; practical experience handling class imbalance, model calibration, and anomaly detection.
Tech Stack:
Python:
Advanced proficiency (Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy);
Deep Learning:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Nice-to-Have:
Domain experience in FinTech, Payments, or Fraud Prevention: real-time transaction scoring and low-latency inference.
Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake), Feature Stores, and event-driven architectures.
Background in time-series forecasting, graph neural networks, Explainable AI (XAI), or applied LLM solutions.
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
Anthropic is investing in shared platform capabilities that power Claude across our consumer and developer products: the common foundation that Claude, Cowork, Claude Code, and future surfaces are built on. We're hiring a Technical Program Manager to be the connective tissue for this effort, someone who ensures we're building the platform the rest of Anthropic's products are built on, and that product teams actually get leverage from it.
This is not a single-team TPM role. You'll work across the platform engineering teams and every product team that consumes the platform, driving one cohesive roadmap rather than a collection of disconnected workstreams. Success looks like products at Anthropic shipping more easily, faster, and more reliably because they're built on a common foundation, with developer velocity increasing measurably across the company, not just within one team.
Responsibilities
Own the cross-Apps platform roadmap end to end: sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs across platform teams and the apps teams that depend on them
Drive alignment between platform engineering and apps teams so platform investments map to real consumer needs and adoption actually happens (leverage only exists if teams build on the platform)
Identify duplication across surfaces and convert it into shared platform capabilities
Establish the operating rhythm: planning, status, escalation paths, and launch coordination across orgs
Create program documentation including roadmaps, status reports, risk assessments, and communication plans
Facilitate technical decision-making by bringing together stakeholders, driving consensus, and ensuring timely resolution of blocking issues
You may be a good fit if you
Have several years of experience in technical program management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional programs
Have experience with platform engineering efforts (shared services, developer platforms, or common capabilities consumed by multiple product teams) and can engage meaningfully with the engineers building them
Have driven platform adoption across consuming teams, where success depended on other teams choosing to build on what you shipped
Have experience coordinating across multiple engineering teams and organizations simultaneously
Are highly organized and can manage multiple parallel workstreams effectively across distributed teams
Thrive in unstructured environments with a knack for bringing order to chaos and creating clarity in ambiguous situations
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
