Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.

Mysten Labs’ mission is to advance the internet through step-function improvements in what technology makes possible. We build foundational infrastructure and products that give people, businesses, and developers new ways to interact, transact, and create value.
Our work spans on-chain finance and the emerging agent economy. Through Sui, Move, and our broader technology stack, we’re building the systems that make these experiences possible - from secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure to new ways for businesses and AI agents to interact.
THE ROLE
We’re hiring a Senior Dealmaker to shape and lead AI partnerships for Walrus, Mysten Labs’ decentralized storage network, across the ecosystem.
As AI agents take on more complex work, they need infrastructure that helps them retain context, handle sensitive information, and maintain a trustworthy record of their actions. With Walrus as the foundation for decentralized storage and persistent memory, we’re building toward that future with a broader stack that includes confidential compute—supporting product reliability and compliance as agents operate in the real world.
Your job is to determine where Walrus and these complementary capabilities can create the greatest value, build relationships with the right partners, and structure agreements that lead to meaningful integrations and adoption. You’ll focus on foundation model companies, AI platforms, data platforms, and adjacent infrastructure providers.
Working closely with the Head of Partnerships and Walrus product and engineering leadership, you’ll help set partnership priorities and independently lead complex opportunities from initial thesis through implementation. This is a senior individual contributor role with substantial ownership, requiring strategic judgment, commercial creativity, and hands-on execution.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Shape our AI partnership strategy. Develop a clear perspective on where Walrus can become essential infrastructure for AI applications and agents. Identify the partners, use cases, and market developments that should guide our investment of time and resources.
- Originate consequential partnerships. Build relationships with founders, executives, and technical decision-makers at foundation model companies, AI platforms, agent frameworks, data platforms, and adjacent infrastructure providers. Create opportunities before there is an established partnership motion.
- Define the opportunity alongside the partner. Understand how partners build, what their customers need, and where our technology can solve a meaningful problem. Work with product and engineering leadership to shape joint offerings, integration proposals, and commercial models.
- Structure and close complex deals. Lead negotiations involving technical integrations, joint product development, distribution, and commercial agreements. Navigate competing priorities and create structures that give both organizations a compelling reason to commit.
- Deliver integrations and adoption. Own relationships beyond signing. Align teams on scope, resources, and milestones; resolve obstacles; and keep partnerships moving toward implementation, launch, and sustained usage.
- Influence across the organization. Bring partner and market insights into product, engineering, marketing, and leadership discussions. Make clear recommendations, surface tradeoffs, and build alignment around opportunities that require investment across teams.
- Establish a repeatable approach. Turn early wins into sharper partner selection criteria, stronger deal structures, and more effective execution. Raise the quality of partnership work through sound judgment, shared learning, and mentorship.
WHAT YOU’LL HAVE
- Substantial experience in strategic partnerships or business development, typically 10–15+ years, with demonstrated ownership of strategically significant relationships in AI, data infrastructure, or developer platforms.
- Deep engagement in the AI ecosystem, including strong relationships with founders, executives, and product and technical leaders at relevant companies.
- A proven record of independently originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing complex partnerships that produced meaningful integrations, joint offerings, distribution, or adoption.
- The judgment to identify which opportunities deserve investment, articulate a compelling partnership thesis, and walk away when the strategic or commercial fit is weak.
- Strong product instincts and technical fluency. You can engage engineers on architectures and agentic workflows, uncover a partner’s underlying needs, and connect technical capabilities to business value.
- Credibility in the startup community and firsthand experience building with limited structure, resources, or established processes. You can point to opportunities you personally created and brought to market.
- The ability to think at enterprise scale while executing with startup urgency. You’re comfortable navigating executive stakeholders and handling the details needed to get an integration live.
- A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and aligning product, engineering, legal, and commercial teams without relying on formal authority.
- Creative commercial judgment, a bias for action, and accountability for outcomes through implementation and adoption.
- Curiosity about decentralized infrastructure and the ability to become fluent quickly. Prior Web3 experience is welcome; substantial AI ecosystem experience is essential.
- High ethical standards, direct communication, and comfort adapting as the product and market evolve.
- Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time, including internationally.
Location: San Francisco Bay Area preferred. We may consider exceptional candidates elsewhere who are deeply embedded in the AI ecosystem.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education credentials, criminal history, and other relevant information.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
As the EMEA AE Lead, Beneficial Deployments at Anthropic, you'll build and lead a foundational sales team driving Claude adoption across mission-driven organisations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You'll leverage your consultative sales expertise and passion for social impact to secure strategic partnerships with nonprofits, foundations, INGOs, educational institutions, and social enterprises across the EMEA market.
This is a player-coach role requiring someone who can personally close complex deals while building a high-performing regional team. You'll operate with significant autonomy across time zones while maintaining tight alignment with global strategy. Our team and verticals are evolving rapidly—the ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, is energised by building from scratch, and can flex across changing priorities as we learn what works.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in the EMEA nonprofit or social impact technology landscape, established relationships with mission-driven institutions, and a proven track record of building teams that drive revenue and mission impact simultaneously.
Role Focus
This role will lead EMEA sales efforts across Beneficial Deployments verticals, which currently include:
Nonprofits & Foundations:
INGOs, charitable trusts, foundations, and social enterprises across Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Navigate federated organisational structures, EU/UK regulatory requirements, and diverse funding mechanisms.
Emerging Markets:
Partnerships in Africa and India with organisations driving social impact at scale.
Note: Verticals and priorities may evolve as the team learns and grows. We're looking for someone comfortable with a shifting remit who can help shape what this role becomes.
Responsibilities
Win new business and drive revenue for Anthropic within EMEA mission-driven organisations. Navigate complex multi-stakeholder ecosystems to reach decision-makers, educate them about Claude, and help them succeed with Anthropic
Build and lead a regional team supporting EMEA customers, both inbound and outbound. Establish team structure, hiring priorities, and operational processes for scaling—while rolling up your sleeves to close deals yourself
Design and execute innovative sales strategies tailored to diverse EMEA contexts: nonprofit budget cycles and grant timelines, foundation giving patterns, and varying regulatory environments across jurisdictions
Navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems including INGO executive teams, foundation programme officers, trustees, executive directors, and IT departments to build consensus
Develop and maintain relationships with key EMEA ecosystem players: nonprofit networks (Bond, NCVO, European Foundation Centre), education networks, and implementation partners
Inform product roadmaps by gathering feedback from EMEA nonprofit and education users. Provide insights on regional requirements including data sovereignty, language support, and compliance needs
Continuously refine the EMEA sales methodology by incorporating learnings into playbooks, templates, and best practices. Adapt global processes for regional contexts while contributing insights back to the global team
Ensure all sales activities comply with relevant data protection regulations (GDPR, UK GDPR) and address customer concerns about data sovereignty, AI ethics, and responsible deployment
Partner effectively with SF-based teams across time zones, maintaining regular cadence with the Beneficial Deployments Lead and cross-functional stakeholders while operating with significant regional autonomy
Help shape team processes and culture as we scale from 1 to N
You May Be a Good Fit If You Have
8+ years of B2B sales experience in nonprofit technology, EdTech, or social impact sectors, preferably in EMEA SaaS or emerging technologies
Track record of managing complex sales cycles within nonprofits, INGOs, foundations, or educational institutions, securing strategic deals by understanding both mission requirements and technical needs
Experience building and scaling sales teams, with proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain top talent while operating across multiple time zones and cultural contexts
Deep understanding of nonprofit or education sector operations, including INGO federated structures, European foundation giving, UK charity sector dynamics, and/or higher education procurement
Demonstrated ability to navigate diverse stakeholder ecosystems including trustees, executive directors, programme officers, and procurement committees
A scrappy mentality—comfortable wearing multiple hats, building from scratch, driving clarity in ambiguous situations, and doing whatever it takes to further the mission
Strong understanding of GDPR and UK data protection, with ability to address customer concerns about AI ethics and responsible deployment
Proven experience exceeding revenue targets while operating autonomously, managing an evolving pipeline across multiple market segments and time zones
Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt style across cultural contexts
Fluency in English required; proficiency in French valued given Francophone Africa coverage; additional European languages a plus
A genuine passion for social impact and experience with or commitment to advancing mission-driven work through technology
Strong Candidates May Also Have
Active involvement in the EMEA nonprofit or education community through board service, advisory roles, or sector leadership
Existing relationships with major INGOs (Save the Children, Oxfam, IRC, MSF, CARE, World Vision), foundations, or educational institutions
Familiarity with nonprofit data privacy requirements, AI ethics frameworks, and responsible technology deployment
Track record of building strategic partnerships with foundations or philanthropic advisors
Experience presenting at nonprofit conferences (Bond Conference, NCVO Conference, Skoll World Forum) or education forums
Understanding of specific verticals: education technology, digital health, financial inclusion/economic mobility programs

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

POWER A WORLD OF TRUST
Incode is the leading provider of world-class identity solutions that is reinventing the way humans authenticate and verify their identities online to power a world of digital trust.
Through our revolutionary identity solutions, we are unleashing the business potential of universal industries including finance, government, retail, hospitality, gaming, and more, by reducing fraud and transforming human interactions with data, products, and services.
We’re in the process of rapidly scaling our diverse global team and we’re looking for entrepreneurial individuals and leaders who are curious, driven, and excited by ownership to join a Unicorn-status scale-up!
About Incode
Incode Technologies is a leader in identity verification, offering innovative, AI-driven solutions tailored to diverse industry needs — from financial services to social media and marketplaces. Our platform is designed to maximize user conversion while minimizing fraud, through a multi-layered approach that includes proprietary AI, deepfake detection, and efficient user re-engagement tools. With close to 99% accuracy in facial recognition tied directly to official document issuance systems, and enterprise partnerships with Citibank, HSBC, Amazon, and Chime, Incode stands apart. With over $250M raised from General Atlantic and SoftBank, we're driving the future of digital trust — and we need a builder-minded Total Rewards leader who can design world-class reward programs from the ground up and own every detail of their execution.
The Impact You'll Make
Incode's Total Rewards function is at an inflection point. Over the past year we moved from a stock-option-only program to a new equity framework that blends time-based options with performance RSUs tied to ARR milestones, launched equity plans in new jurisdictions, expanded our market data, and scoped a job-architecture and leveling project ahead of the next compensation cycle. What we have not had is a single leader who owns all of it end to end.
As Vice President, Total Rewards, you will own compensation, equity, benefits and rewards operations for Incoders across the US, LATAM and EMEA. You'll be the executive the CEO, the Board and the leadership team turn to on pay decisions — from a Regional VP's offer in Mexico City to board member grants — and you'll build the governance, systems and team that make those decisions consistent, data-backed and fast.
This is a build-and-run role. You set the strategy — and you roll up your sleeves during the comp cycle.
What You'll Own & Drive
Rewards Strategy & Governance
— Define and steward Incode's compensation philosophy, market positioning and pay mix by region. Build the approval matrix, offer guidelines and exception process so decisions are consistent and quick. Serve as authorized signatory for promotions, salary increases, compensation adjustments and bonus confirmations.
Job Architecture & Leveling
— Lead the job-architecture and leveling project with our external compensation advisors and People Partners, and land it before the next compensation cycle: job families, levels, salary structures and career frameworks, with the metrics that show it worked.
Compensation Cycles
— Run the annual compensation and performance-linked increase cycle end to end with Finance and People Partners: budget by organization, band updates, manager recommendation frameworks, calibration support, letters and communications. Design and administer bonus and MBO plans with Finance.
Equity
— Own the equity program: new-hire, promotion, refresh and performance grants; the options-to-RSU framework and vesting design; board and advisor grants; and coordination with Finance, Legal and outside counsel on board resolutions, 409A valuations, the cap table and international plan compliance. Lead equity education for managers and employees.
Executive & Offer Compensation
— Partner with the CEO, CBOO and Talent Acquisition on executive and GM packages (base and variable mix, equity structure, sign-on and clawback terms), and support the Board's compensation committee on executive pay and benchmarking.
Global Benefits
— Set the benefits strategy by region with an impact-versus-cost lens; manage brokers, renewals and leave policies across countries so that what we offer in Mexico City, Belgrade and San Francisco each feels like Incode.
Sales Compensation Partnership
— Partner with Finance and Revenue Operations on sales and customer-success variable plan design, quota-setting methodology, pay mix and payout governance, bringing market data and plan-design discipline.
M&A Integration
— Lead rewards harmonization for acquisitions, including equity plan assumption, leveling alignment and benefits integration.
Tooling & AI
— Build an AI-enabled Total Rewards function: market benchmarking, pay-equity monitoring, comp-cycle operations and compensation communication, with clear guardrails on data privacy, accuracy and where human judgment stays non-negotiable. Own the TR tool stack and market data sources.
Team
— Lead and grow the Total Rewards team. Raise the bar on rigor, turnaround and documentation so that today's ad-hoc requests become repeatable processes.
The Qualities That Set You Apart
You build and you run
— You're comfortable owning the day-to-day with a lean team while building the structure that lets it scale.
You speak finance
— You build the models yourself, understand burn and dilution, and earn credibility with the CFO and the Board.
You bring executive presence — and pace
— You work with a CEO who moves fast. You make clear recommendations, protect internal equity, and know when to flex.
You operate at every altitude
— Board grants in the morning, a Regional VP's offer in Mexico City in the afternoon. The shift energizes you rather than frustrates you.
You're AI-forward
— You use AI tools in your own work and have a point of view on where they belong in Total Rewards.
Your Background
Experience
— 12+ years in compensation and total rewards, including 4+ years leading the function for a complex, multi-country employer such as a large technology or professional-services firm, with hands-on ownership of compensation cycles, equity programs and benefits. You have run the function with rigor at scale and want to build it at a company of Incode's stage.
Equity expertise
— Deep expertise in options and RSUs, refresh and performance-grant design, 409A and cap-table coordination, board grants and international equity plans. You have led an options-to-RSU transition or a comparable program change.
Global compensation
— Experience across the US and at least one of LATAM or EMEA. Mexico experience and Spanish are strong advantages.
Certification
— CCP, GRP or CEP certification is a plus.
Nice to Have
Prior experience at an identity verification, cybersecurity, KYC/AML, or data company.
Consulting background in total rewards or executive compensation.

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.

GiveWell’s mission is to help people in need as much as we can by researching the most cost‑effective ways to save and improve lives, sharing our work openly, and directing donations to the programs we believe will do the most good. Our work, which focuses on global health and well-being, is funded by tens of thousands of donors who rely on our research to inform their giving. We’ve grown from directing $1.5 million in 2010 to directing more than $400 million in 2025. We anticipate our total grantmaking is likely to approach or even exceed $1 billion this year, and we are working toward a future that could be several times that scale. Through years of deliberate groundwork, we’ve been growing our research capacity and scope in order to direct substantially more funding to the most impactful opportunities we can find.
Summary
GiveWell is seeking a Senior New Areas Researcher to help direct tens of millions of dollars annually to the most cost-effective interventions we can find. You will have an outsized influence on our funding decisions and help us save and improve lives on a global scale.
The New Areas team grantmaking is divided into three workstreams: i) our core cause areas: areas for which we devote a significant amount of time developing subject-matter specific expertise and networks, a thorough research agenda, and a large portfolio of grants (e.g., family planning, maternal and newborn health, tuberculosis and HIV); ii) our emerging cause areas: a broader set of cause areas for which the New Areas team is starting to build its expertise, networks and research agenda, and is making some initial grants (e.g., medical oxygen, applications of AI to global health); and iii) our incubators: supporting the
Clinton Health Access Initiative’s Incubator
and
Evidence Action’s Accelerator
to identify potentially cost-effective interventions and create programs that we would be excited to support in the future.
As a Senior New Areas Researcher, you'll create and lead ambitious research agendas related to our portfolios of work and answer complex questions that will inform GiveWell's grantmaking decisions. The researchers on our team combine rigorous evidence review, cost-effectiveness modeling, and thoughtful judgment.
We're open to a wide variety of professional development pathways depending on your preferences and our needs.
The role
You will be joining a small grantmaking team to contribute to our ambitious research agenda on new areas. You'll sift through the countless questions we could try to answer, and hone in on those that matter most. You'll also communicate externally about your work and mentor and advise other researchers on the team.
You will shape a research agenda that brings rigor and creativity to the thorniest questions the GiveWell new areas team faces. Your work will combine empirical evidence review and critical synthesis, cost-effectiveness modeling, discussions with subject matter experts, understanding of the broader context, and your own judgment.
What you might work on in your first year:
Tackle thorny research questions in our existing portfolios.
For example: to what extent could programs which distribute oral rehydration solution to reduce diarrheal deaths inadvertently induce exclusively breastfed children to consume poor quality water? How can we estimate the risk of reinfection after a child has completed a course of tuberculosis preventive treatment? How can we account for these concerns in our cost-effectiveness estimates?
Design and oversee learning grants.
You'll help design impact evaluations for new and existing programs, and supervise researchers executing that work — from scoping the research question through to interpreting results and integrating them into our models.
Build our evidence base in new programmatic areas.
This includes synthesising existing research, commissioning new reviews, and in some cases funding primary data collection — with the goal of determining whether a new intervention meets GiveWell's cost-effectiveness bar and is ready for major grantmaking.
Provide research support to grantmakers.
You'll ensure our cost-effectiveness models reflect our best current understanding of the programs we fund — stress-testing assumptions, incorporating new data, and flagging where uncertainty is high enough to warrant further investigation.
The Senior New Areas Researcher will help shape a major annual grantmaking portfolio, own grant investigations end-to-end (from research question through grant recommendation), and represent GiveWell to external counterparts. You'll have significant latitude to propose new areas of work.
Team structure
Our research department has ~70 people, and is currently organized into eight teams:
Five of the teams (Livelihoods, Malaria, Nutrition, Vaccination, and Water) focus on specific areas of grantmaking.
The New Areas team focuses on interventions in domains that are new to GiveWell.
The Cross-Cutting team focuses on methodological issues, research quality, and other big-picture concerns that cut across all of our research work.
The Commons team provides generalized research support to each of the other teams, including landscaping research, vetting, and publishing.
Team values
We think our research team has unique qualities:
We care deeply and centrally about finding and sharing truth.
Truth-seeking is one of our
core values
. We post
our mistakes
and we prize our team members who keep our culture of free-flowing feedback strong.
We are independent.
We focus 100% on finding the most cost-effective opportunities to save and improve lives. Our researchers assist in communicating our research findings to the public and our donors, and on occasion we provide tailored advice to ultra-high-net-worth donors who want to rely on our expertise to direct their giving—but we never ask our researchers to trade off against honesty, or to hide their real beliefs.
We don’t waste time.
Once it’s clear that a particular research question is unlikely to change our bottom-line funding recommendation, we drop it as quickly as possible. We encourage our research staff to constantly re-evaluate their portfolios and only work on the highest-priority questions.
Lean research team = huge personal impact.
In 2026,
our research team of ~80 people is directing close to 1 billion dollars and we expect grantmaking dollars per research team member to increase in the future.
We work well together.
Our research team is lean because we’re able to attract top-tier people, all of whom complete skills-based assessments before joining our staff. We maintain a high-performing, collegial culture and pay our staff accordingly.
About you
We expect the Senior New Areas Researcher to have
A quantitatively oriented advanced degree (e.g., in epidemiology, public health, economics, or a related field).
Substantial professional experience in global health, or an adjacent field (broadly defined). This could include direct experience with program design, monitoring, or evaluation; epidemiology; cost-effectiveness modelling of health interventions; or work in program implementation or funding at a bilateral, multilateral, or NGO. We're especially interested in candidates who enjoy being generalists: you are able to get up to speed quickly on new topics and you feel comfortable task-switching.
We expect that people with the soft qualities below will be the most successful and happy on our team. This isn’t a full list, but hopefully it conveys the gist of our team’s professional personality:
GiveWell’s mission and methods are personally energizing—you like our approach to research and you find personal meaning in our story of impact.
You’re abnormally curious—you ask lots of questions, and you’re willing to interrogate others’ work. Your curiosity also extends to your own work—you aren’t defensive when your research comes under scrutiny.
You routinely think about and surface the value judgments, background knowledge, and strategic commitments that undergird your work. You understand the potential effects of mistaken mental models, so you strive to improve yours and your team’s.
You dislike it when people express strong confidence in views that don’t seem to rely on commensurate evidence. You carefully and legibly communicate about your confidence levels.
You appreciate the value of an excellent reputation and strong relationships. You can moderate your directness and intensity when you’re communicating with external folks.
You love a
gnarly problem
. You figure out the most important questions to answer, go deep on the details where they matter (and move on where they don’t), and reassess your mental models based on what you’ve learned.
You constantly assess whether you and the team are working on the most important things.
If you’re interested in working on GiveWell’s research team but don’t have new areas expertise, consider applying to our generalist
Senior Researcher
role, or our Researcher role if you have limited post-graduation experience.
The details
Compensation:
We set salaries using a location-based tier system. Our pay for this role:
NYC or the San Francisco Bay Area: $308,000.
All other U.S. locations: $280,000
International: Similar to the “all other U.S. locations” salary, based on historical exchange rates and delivered in locally-denominated currency. We can share a precise figure upon request after the first work trial stage.
Benefits:
Our
benefits
include:
Fully funded health, dental, vision, and life insurance (we cover 100% of premiums within the US for you and any dependents)
Four weeks of paid time off per year, plus a one week organization-wide summer break
16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
Ergonomic home workstations or coworking space memberships
Automatic contribution equal to 5% of your gross salary into your 403(b) retirement plan (for U.S. based staff)
Countries we can hire from:
GiveWell is a remote-first organization. However, for the time being, we can only hire within a select number of countries (US, UK, Canada, Switzerland, and Germany). To be considered for a role with GiveWell, you need to already be based in one of those countries or be willing to move to one of them. We expect to expand the list of locations where we can hire over the course of 2027, and our job descriptions always reflect the current status — so we'd encourage you to check back and apply again for a role you're eligible for.
Visa sponsorship:
The US is the only country where visa sponsorship is possible for a number of roles, and it's assessed on a case by case basis. For all other countries, you need to already have work authorization, we cannot sponsor visas.
Why we work this way:
Focusing on countries where we already have tested onboarding processes lets us move candidates through hiring faster and with fewer surprises. Every additional country brings its own labor laws, EOR requirements, and new processes to work through, which slows things down for hiring teams and new colleagues alike. Concentrating our footprint keeps the experience consistent and supports GiveWell’s wider absorption capacity goals.
Flexibility:
We support and encourage flexible working, including flexible hours, working remotely, and working from the office when you choose. The majority of our staff, including senior management, work flexibly in one way or another.
Travel:
Research team members are sometimes required to attend international site visits and conferences (on average 1-2 per year), with additional travel for those interested in traveling more. Additionally, we strongly encourage staff members to attend quarterly whole-org and department retreats to bond with other team members and complete in-person work. We'll discuss travel obligations in more detail during late stages of the hiring process, and we’ll accommodate staff who have conflicting family or other obligations.
Start date:
We’d like a candidate to start as soon as possible after receiving an offer, but we’ll offer flexibility for candidates whose personal or professional circumstances require them to moderately delay their start date.
Miscellaneous details:
Please apply to only one Senior Researcher posting. If you have deep expertise in this area, this pod-specific role is the right fit. If not, there's no need to apply here — our generalist Senior Researcher role is designed for strong researchers who don't have a single specialization, and you don't need to apply to both. Applying to the generalist role won't put you at any disadvantage!
After application review, our hiring process consists of a short application exercise and up to 15 hours of compensated work trials. You can see more details about our hiring process on our
FAQs page
!
We devote significant staff capacity to initial application review, and we respond to all applications as quickly as possible.
We have a strong preference for full-time applicants, but we’ll consider applications for part-time work. We aren’t interested in reviewing applications for contract or project-based work at this time.
If we settle on an application deadline, we’ll write it in bold here. If you’re on our website job posting and don’t see a deadline, there is no deadline. If you’re reading this on an external job board and don’t see a deadline, you should double-check on our
website
.
You don't need to submit a cover letter—we rely mainly on your resume and answers to the application questions below when we're making early decisions.
About GiveWell
GiveWell is dedicated to finding and evaluating highly cost-effective global health and development opportunities, and we publish all the work, reasoning, and uncertainties behind our funding decisions. Our
giving funds
enable donors to contribute to the most impactful and cost-effective programs our researchers identify.
GiveWell is one of the world’s largest private funders of global development efforts. Trusted annually by tens of thousands of donors, GiveWell searches for highly cost-effective programs that save or improve lives the most. Since 2007, more than 150,000 donors have given over $2.6 billion through GiveWell to the most promising programs its research has identified, which we estimate will save more than
340,000 lives
.
GiveWell is most well-known for recommending a small number of
Top Charities
, which currently support
seasonal malaria chemoprevention
,
insecticide-treated nets
,
vaccine incentivization
, and
vitamin A supplementation
. However, most of our research capacity and grantmaking is devoted to
cost-effective opportunities outside of those programs
.
GiveWell
grants
have:
Helped governments
navigate changes to the funding landscape
and implement high-impact health programs, like
HIV/syphilis screening and treatment
for pregnant people in Zambia and Cameroon.
Sought to scope and scale promising interventions that don’t have clear existing implementers. We are supporting the
Clinton Health Access Initiative’s Incubator
to identify potentially cost-effective interventions and create programs that we would be excited to support in the future. For example, we
funded a program
to prevent tuberculosis among young children in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, India, that we co-designed with CHAI through the Incubator program.
Provided funding to ensure that programs that recently faced foreign aid funding cuts could continue, like
healthcare support and malnutrition treatment
in northern Cameroon.
Funded program delivery alongside strengthened monitoring and evaluation, as in our grants to support
treatment of clubfoot
and to
evaluate the program
.
Tested our
assumptions and refined our understanding
through further research and data collection, including
improved estimates of disease burden
and studies on
the effect of water chlorination on mortality
and
the impact of a tree-planting program on farmers’ income
.
We make our reasoning public and transparent so others can challenge it (sometimes we even
pay people to point out our errors
). We go to unusual lengths to check our assumptions and assess our impact, including
funding research
to address our uncertainties and gathering
independent monitoring and evaluation data
about the programs we support. We
change
our minds when the evidence demands it. For more about GiveWell, listen to Ezra Klein’s
recent interview
with GiveWell’s co-founder and CEO Elie Hassenfeld.
Additional information
We don’t want to miss candidates that could do great things at GiveWell. Practically, that means a GiveWell staff member reviews every application carefully, considering the whole picture of your background and potential. If you’re on the fence about applying because you meet some but not 100% of our preferred qualifications (some studies suggest this hesitation is especially common for women and people of color), we encourage you to apply anyway.
GiveWell is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer by choice. At minimum, this means that we comply with all federal, state, and local EEO and employment laws. Beyond the requirements of those laws, we value our team’s diversity in all respects, and we desire to maintain a work environment free of harassment or discrimination—we want our team members to thrive at GiveWell. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, contact us at careers@givewell.org. We will consider employment for qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Summary
GiveWell is seeking a Senior Nutrition Researcher to help direct tens of millions of dollars annually to the most cost-effective nutrition interventions we can find. You will have an outsized influence on our funding decisions and help us save and improve lives on a global scale.
Our nutrition grantmaking currently spans three sub-portfolios: Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS), iron supplementation (including iron and folic acid supplementation and large-scale food fortification), and treatment of acute malnutrition (CMAM/wasting treatment). In 2025, we directed $95 million to implementers across these areas, operating primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. We are actively deepening our work across all three areas, by scrutinising program coverage and quality, strengthening our cost-effectiveness models, considering different delivery platforms, and expanding our grantmaking to new geographies. We are also exploring opportunities to expand our grantmaking into interventions adjacent to our existing portfolios, as well as approaches and programs that are entirely new to GiveWell, where the evidence and cost-effectiveness case is compelling.
As a Senior Nutrition Researcher, you'll create and lead ambitious research agendas related to our portfolios of work and answer complex questions that will inform GiveWell's grantmaking decisions. The researchers on our team combine rigorous evidence review, cost-effectiveness modeling, and thoughtful judgment.
We're open to a wide variety of professional development pathways depending on your preferences and our needs.

What you might work on in your first year:
Tackle thorny research questions in our existing portfolios.
For example: how should we calibrate our cost-effectiveness estimates to real-world program performance? How do we better understand coverage gaps and program quality across VAS, iron supplementation, and CMAM programs? How can we strengthen the evidence on the impact of VAS and CMAM in modern contexts, when many key trials are decades old but it would be unethical to withhold standard of care in new trials?
Design and oversee learning grants.
You'll help design impact evaluations for new and existing programs, and supervise researchers executing that work — from scoping the research question through to interpreting results and integrating them into our models.
Build our evidence base in new programmatic areas.

Relevant professional experience could include: research roles (e.g. clinical nutrition research; epidemiological or health economics modeling), program roles (e.g. design and implementation, or monitoring and evaluation); funding roles (e.g. grantmaking or impact investing); or other roles in public sector, private sector or non-profit organizations that save and improve lives by addressing malnutrition.

About GiveWell
GiveWell is dedicated to finding and evaluating highly cost-effective global health and development opportunities, and we publish all the work, reasoning, and uncertainties behind our funding decisions. Our
giving funds
enable donors to contribute to the most impactful and cost-effective programs our researchers identify.
GiveWell is one of the world’s largest private funders of global development efforts. Trusted annually by tens of thousands of donors, GiveWell searches for highly cost-effective programs that save or improve lives the most. Since 2007, more than 150,000 donors have given over $2.6 billion through GiveWell to the most promising programs its research has identified, which we estimate will save more than
340,000 lives
.
GiveWell is most well-known for recommending a small number of
Top Charities
, which currently support
seasonal malaria chemoprevention
,
insecticide-treated nets
,
vaccine incentivization
, and
vitamin A supplementation
. However, most of our research capacity and grantmaking is devoted to
cost-effective opportunities outside of those programs
.
GiveWell
grants
have:
Helped governments
navigate changes to the funding landscape
and implement high-impact health programs, like
HIV/syphilis screening and treatment
for pregnant people in Zambia and Cameroon.
Sought to scope and scale promising interventions that don’t have clear existing implementers. We are supporting the
Clinton Health Access Initiative’s Incubator
to identify potentially cost-effective interventions and create programs that we would be excited to support in the future. For example, we
funded a program
to prevent tuberculosis among young children in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, India, that we co-designed with CHAI through the Incubator program.
Provided funding to ensure that programs that recently faced foreign aid funding cuts could continue, like
healthcare support and malnutrition treatment
in northern Cameroon.
Funded program delivery alongside strengthened monitoring and evaluation, as in our grants to support
treatment of clubfoot
and to
evaluate the program
.
Tested our
assumptions and refined our understanding
through further research and data collection, including
improved estimates of disease burden
and studies on
the effect of water chlorination on mortality
and
the impact of a tree-planting program on farmers’ income
.
We make our reasoning public and transparent so others can challenge it (sometimes we even
pay people to point out our errors
). We go to unusual lengths to check our assumptions and assess our impact, including
funding research
to address our uncertainties and gathering
independent monitoring and evaluation data
about the programs we support. We
change
our minds when the evidence demands it. For more about GiveWell, listen to Ezra Klein’s
recent interview
with GiveWell’s co-founder and CEO Elie Hassenfeld.

About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About the role
Vercel's Enterprise sales team is built on people who are technically fluent, commercially sharp, and deeply curious about the companies they sell into. As a Majors AE covering some of the key EMEA markets, you will own a curated book of named enterprise accounts and be the primary driver of net-new revenue and platform expansion. You will work alongside Solutions Engineers, Partner Manager, and cross-functional Vercel stakeholders to bring Vercel's platform into some of the most digitally ambitious and transformational companies in the region.
If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team.
What you'll do
Build and execute multi-year account plans across a curated set of named Major Accounts, with hyperscalers, SIs, and agency partners embedded in the strategy from day one
Drive net-new revenue through outbound ownership, rigorous discovery, executive alignment, and multi-threaded deal execution spanning engineering, product, procurement, legal, and the C-suite
Translate Vercel's platform into board-level narratives around developer velocity, infrastructure consolidation, and AI-driven transformation as measurable operational levers
Own complex commercial negotiations and establish Vercel as a long-term strategic infrastructure partner embedded in your accounts' roadmaps for web and AI transformation
What you need
5–10+ years in enterprise SaaS with a demonstrated track record of closing six and seven-figure deals in major or strategic accounts
Experienced in partner-influenced or co-sell motions — you know how to activate a hyperscaler or SI/ISV relationship to open doors and accelerate deals, not just name-drop them
Fluent in English and local language requirements based on the territory you’re focused on
Comfortable discussing architecture with a CTO and total cost of ownership with a CFO
A disciplined account planner who thinks in years, builds executive relationships from scratch, and sequences complex accounts to maximise long-term revenue
Fluent in MEDDPICC and rigorous about forecast hygiene and CRM discipline
Able to hold credible, technically grounded conversations with senior engineering and product leadership — without leaning on a solutions engineer as a crutch
A value seller who leads with business outcomes and customer pain, not feature lists
Bonus if you
Have a background in web development, developer tooling, web infrastructure, cloud platforms, or AI/ML
Come with existing relationships at AWS, GCP, Azure, or major SI/ISV players active in the UK and Northern Europe markets
Have experience navigating ELAs, global framework agreements, or enterprise procurement in regulated industries
Have sold into media, retail, financial services, or digital-native companies — verticals where Vercel has strong traction in the UK market
Benefits & Compensation:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
Flexible Time Off.
We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.
The London based pay range for this role is 200,000 - 270,000 GBP OTE. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.
