Location: New York, NY (HQ); San Francisco, CA Workplace: Hybrid ABOUT RAMP Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books. The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving. We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome. The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same. If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it. ABOUT THE ROLE Finance teams need a dependable way to turn everyday spending and payments into accurate books. Ramp's Accounting team builds the systems that carry accounting context across our products, help customers categorize and reconcile activity, and keep their records in sync. When those systems work well, finance teams spend less time correcting data and more time understanding their business. We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build across that accounting experience. You could work on the services behind accounting rules and data models, the flow of transactions into the books, or the reliability of sync and reconciliation workflows. You'll own complex projects from design through production and work with product, design, and engineering partners to make accounting workflows simpler and more trustworthy for customers. You have delivered and operated enterprise offerings under strict compliance regimes such as FedRAMP and AWS GovCloud. You have led organizational changes, including adopting AI enabled workflows that raise engineering system efficiencies. You translate financial targets into engineering investments, headcount plans, and execution roadmaps. You lead with ownership, speed with quality, and a focus on customer outcomes. Responsibilities: You design prompt injection scenarios in YAML, run them against frontier models, validate success rates, and submit passing tasks. 5 high-quality tasks per week (full-time equivalent). Per-task compensation, paid on acceptance. Requirements: Adversarial mindset: you think like an attacker and understand how to exploit an AI agent’s helpfulness, authority assumptions, or trust in its environment Prompt injection expertise: direct (role-play, encoding, context flooding) and indirect/environment-embedded (poisoned tool responses, malicious content in documents, cross-context leakage) Technical writing in YAML Comfortable with Docker, CLI tools, and running systematic tests against multiple models Domain realism in at least one vertical: e-commerce, finance, HR, enterprise SaaS, healthcare, travel Background in pentesting, appsec, LLM security research, or red teaming strongly preferred The Task You build adversarial prompt injection tasks for Alice’s RL Gym platform. Each task is a self-contained YAML scenario simulating a realistic AI agent deployment, testing whether the agent can be manipulated into violating its safety policies. About the company: A company building specialized evaluation infrastructure for AI safety and robustness testing. Their platform simulates adversarial conditions used by AI development teams to validate agent behavior before deployment. Currently expanding a freelance contributor pool for scenario and environment development. By applying for this position, you agree to the terms outlined in our Privacy Policy.
