Synthesia is the world’s leading AI video platform for business, used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2017, the company is headquartered in London, with offices and teams across Europe and the US.
As AI continues to shape the way we live and work, Synthesia develops products to enhance visual communication and enterprise skill development, helping people work better and stay at the center of successful organizations.
Following our recent Series E funding round, where we raised $200 million, our valuation stands at $4 billion. Our total funding exceeds $530 million from premier investors including Accel, NVentures (Nvidia's VC arm), Kleiner Perkins, GV, and Evantic Capital, alongside the founders and operators of Stripe, Datadog, Miro, and Webflow.
THE ROLE...
Synthesia's API and platform capabilities are quickly becoming the way developers embed AI video into their own products — automated training pipelines, localization workflows, customer-facing apps, and more. We're looking for our first Developer Advocate to make sure the developer world knows it, understands it, and gets building.
This is a builder-and-storyteller role. You'll be the face and voice of the Synthesia API to the outside world — writing, coding, speaking, and showing up wherever developers already are — while also being the internal champion who brings their feedback back into the product. You won't just talk about what's possible with Synthesia; you'll build the sample apps, tutorials, and demos that prove it, and you'll do it consistently enough that developers start to recognize your name before they recognize the logo.
You'll be part of the Developer Services team and work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Developer Support to turn technical capability into developer adoption.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Create technical content that developers actually use
- Write blog posts, tutorials, and how-to guides that show real, working integrations — not just feature announcements
- Build and maintain sample apps, starter kits, and code snippets across common languages and frameworks
- Produce video walkthroughs and livestreams using Synthesia's own product wherever it makes sense to "eat our own dog food"
- Keep a fast, honest cadence — regular, dependable output builds more trust than occasional big launches
Show up where developers are
- Represent Synthesia at conferences, meetups, hackathons, and webinars — as a speaker, workshop host, and booth presence
- Run livestreams and community AMAs that go deep on real implementation questions, not marketing talking points
- Build relationships with individual developers, technical bloggers, and community leaders who influence adoption
- Travel as needed to be physically present in the communities that matter most to our growth
Be the credible technical voice
- Get hands-on with the Synthesia API well enough to build things yourself, debug alongside developers, and speak with authority — not from a script
- Earn trust the way any evangelist does: by being genuinely useful before asking for anything in return
- Play the long game — plant seeds in developer communities today that turn into adoption months or years down the line
Close the loop with product
- Channel developer feedback, friction points, and feature requests back to Product and Engineering in a structured way
- Partner with Developer Support and Documentation to identify where the API's rough edges are creating support burden or lost adoption
- Help prioritize the developer experience roadmap based on what you're hearing on the ground
Build the flywheel
- Grow and nurture channels — Discord/Slack community, developer newsletter, social — where developers can find each other and find help
- Identify and cultivate community advocates and early power users who can become case studies, co-speakers, or contributors
- Measure what's working (content engagement, API sign-ups, community growth, sentiment) and adjust the playbook accordingly
ABOUT YOU...
- Experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, technical evangelism, or a similar hybrid technical/communication role — ideally at a platform, API-first, or infrastructure company
- Genuinely hands-on: comfortable writing code, working with APIs and SDKs, and building demo apps yourself, not just narrating what engineering built
- A strong, authentic communicator across formats — written, live, and on stage — who can make technical concepts land with a developer audience
- Comfortable with regular travel and public speaking; energized by meeting developers in person, not just online
- A track record of sustained output (blog, video, or community content) rather than one-off campaigns — evangelism is a long game, and consistency is what earns trust
- Skilled at listening as much as broadcasting: you can sit in a developer's frustration and turn it into a clear, actionable signal for the product team
- Comfortable operating with a lot of autonomy in a fast-moving, still-forming function
- Bonus: existing following or credibility within a developer community relevant to Synthesia's platform (video, AI/ML, automation, or enterprise software)
THE GOOD STUFF..
In addition to being a part of a great team, working in a fun and innovative environment, we offer:
- A competitive salary + stock options in our fast-growing Series E startup
- Hybrid working environment or remote friendly
- 100% Medical, Dental & Vision
- 401k Plan
- Paid parental leave
- 25 days of annual leave + Public holidays + paid sick leave
- Fun culture with regular socials
- A generous referral scheme
- A brand new computer + monitor
- Budget and support for conference travel, community events, and content production
Location: Remote - Worldwide

Continuously benchmark market practices and emerging technologies, including AI; validate ideas through experiments and turn successful findings into company-wide transformation initiatives such as framework modernization, contract and performance testing, smarter test selection, and cloud-native test environments. Actively use AI in daily engineering work and advance its adoption across QA.
Define scalable release-quality principles and provide technical recommendations for systemic, cross-team, or ambiguous quality risks.
Lead cross-team investigations and root-cause analysis for critical incidents, unstable environments, systemic automation failures, and quality problems without a clear owner.
Establish meaningful quality metrics and make trends, risks, technical debt, and improvement outcomes visible to engineering leadership.
Develop QA Technical Leads as domain-level technical owners, strengthening their ability to translate company-wide direction into sustainable practices and decisions within their domains.
Influence, align stakeholders, and translate business, regulatory, and operational risks into clear engineering priorities.
Requirements:
8+ years in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering, including technical leadership across multiple teams or domains.
Experience defining QA strategy, standards, or large-scale transformations with measurable results.
Deep knowledge of Quality practices risk-based testing, coverage strategy, shift-left, quality gates, testability, release readiness, and production quality signals.
Strong hands-on programming experience and the ability to design and contribute to scalable UI and backend automation. Python is preferred, but strong experience with Go, Node.js, or another relevant stack is welcome.
Strong experience with distributed backend systems, REST APIs, event-driven workflows, third-party integrations
Experience with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud-native or GitOps environments, and observability tools.
Ability to define useful quality metrics, communicate technical risk, and influence senior stakeholders
A research-driven mindset, practical experience evaluating new technologies, and confident, responsible, and active use of AI tools in everyday engineering work.
Good spoken and written English and Russian.
Nice to have:
Experience in fintech, crypto, payments, compliance, financial operations, or another regulated domain with complex integrations and high operational risk.
Experience with Kafka, MQ, Debezium, ledger-like systems, eventual consistency, and event-driven architecture.
Experience with contract, performance, load, resilience, or reliability testing.

Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.
THE TEAM
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
We're looking for a Sr. Data Analyst, Compliance to join our team remotely! The primary goal of this role is to elevate decision-making by uncovering emerging trends and root causes, and by driving insights and actions that provide full visibility into business performance and operational efficiency.
Beyond technical expertise, success in this role depends on being a true business partner who combines data-driven insights with strategic thinking to deliver actionable recommendations, guide decision-making, and drive measurable impact across the organization.
In this role, you'll own end-to-end data management, from building and maintaining datasets and pipelines to designing dashboards and delivering insights for the Compliance team. A core part of this role is owning the logic and rule-setting behind transaction monitoring across deposits and withdrawals. You'll also contribute to experimentation infrastructure, laying the groundwork for future ML and intelligence initiatives.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Own the logic and rule-setting behind transaction monitoring across deposits and withdrawals, partnering closely with Compliance to study patterns and refine detection logic
- Translate compliance requirements into production detection logic, preserving correctness across alert eligibility, thresholds, customer segmentation, date windows, and deduplication
- Develop and maintain Python and SQL pipelines for transaction data preparation, feature engineering, and detection workflows
- Evaluate detection rules and analytical models across coverage, alert quality, threshold sensitivity, and the impact of proposed changes
- Design reproducible evaluations on historical data that account for limited labels, class imbalance, and shifts in customer behaviour over time
- Own testing, deployment, scheduling, monitoring, and operational support for detection workflows, including investigating data quality issues, pipeline failures, and unexpected changes in detection results
- Execute historical backfills with clear validation and traceability, and maintain reliable downstream alert delivery and integrations with compliance systems
- Be at the forefront of data innovation by experimenting, testing hypotheses, and translating insights into action, while incorporating software engineering best practices into pipelines and dashboards.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, and data management within the fintech, crypto, financial services, or gambling industry, gained in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Experience working with compliance, fraud, funding, finance, and customer support teams and analyzing large datasets, engineering features, and applying statistical methods to practical business problems
- Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience building and supporting production data or analytical systems
- Hands-on experience using dbt or similar tooling to model and organize high-fidelity data for reporting and decision-making
- Experience setting up and managing data pipelines with a strong understanding of workflow orchestration, plus strong software engineering practices including version control, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD
- Solid statistical foundation; ML exposure is a strong plus
- Proficiency with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Hex, Tableau, Power BI, or similar) to build executive-facing dashboards
- Ability to investigate production issues independently and communicate technical findings and uncertainty to non-technical stakeholders
- You believe wholeheartedly in the values outlined in Kraken's Tentaclements document
- A degree in a field emphasizing analytical rigor, such as analytics, software engineering, statistics, or economics
- Based in Canada, the US, or Brazil, and fluent in English
NICE TO HAVES
- Fraud detection, AML, anomaly detection, or other risk applications
- Experience with Athena, Trino, Kafka, and Kubernetes alongside the core Airflow/dbt/S3 stack
- Transaction pattern analysis, customer segmentation, and detection threshold tuning
- Developing or productionising machine learning models, including experiment tracking and performance monitoring
- Working with sparse or delayed feedback from investigations to evaluate and improve detection
- Explainability, auditability, and change control in regulated environments
