Wealthsimple currently serves more than 4 million Canadians and holds over $155 billion in assets under administration. The company was founded in 2014 by a team of financial experts and technology entrepreneurs, and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. Read our Culture Manual https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/culture and learn more about how we work https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/careers.
At Wealthsimple, we're interested in humans and money — and the complicated ways humans feel about money. Our goal in the creative department is to be a part of that conversation in meaningful ways that are completely innovative and new. We have a deep aversion to making things that already exist and to ads that feel like ads.
We are looking for an experienced Associate Creative Director, Art Director to help us create innovative, human and ridiculously entertaining work. In this role you will often work as a team with a copywriter partner, but you’ll also collaborate with designers, writers, marketers and engineers across the org. You will be responsible for all aspects of creative development and production on integrated brand campaigns and projects large and small, and you will be leading creative voice in some of our biggest brand moments.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Be a highly conceptual thinker with strong storytelling and design skills.
- Develop big ideas and bring them to life through every stage of production.
- Own large and small brand projects and campaigns from kickoff to completion, often balancing multiple projects at once.
- Be a maker-owner, but also a director-delegator, and find the right balance between those two roles for each project.
- Provide art direction on visual design for integrated brand campaigns and projects of various scales and types – from film, social, digital, to interactive experiences.
- Be a creative and strategic thinker who can see how creativity can solve business problems.
- Use AI in a variety of ways. Whether it’s moving ideas into functional prototypes, drafts, mockups or animatics that can be evaluated more quickly, or developing and refining AI workflows for internally created assets.
- Present work in a clear, passionate and dynamic way, championing the creative and vision to internal stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with outside production partners when necessary.
Skills You Bring
- 6-10+ years of experience as an Art Director (agency experience preferred, but not necessary).
- Ability to concept and art direct, developing storyboards, comps or animatics without assistance from the Design team
- Extensive experience with integrated campaigns, from strategic development through creative development and delivery
- Production experience across all platforms - film, digital, social, and print
- Well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite and able to be a hands-on creative delivering comps, layouts, and assets across all media types as well as give direction to studio designers where applicable
- Familiarity with AI image and video generation tools.
- A truly collaborative creative approach.
- Give and receive constructive feedback in a respectful manner
- Travel for production when necessary.

We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Back Office team and help design intuitive, efficient, and scalable solutions for internal users. This role will focus on simplifying complex operational workflows and improving the user experience across back-office products and tools.
The Product Designer will work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, developers, and other designers throughout the entire product development lifecycle—from research and concept development to implementation and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate combines strong UX and UI design skills with the ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into clear, user-friendly solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design intuitive and efficient user experiences for back-office products and internal tools.
Translate business and user requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, developers, and other designers.
Conduct user research and usability testing with internal users.
Identify opportunities to simplify complex workflows and improve operational efficiency.
Maintain consistency across products by contributing to and following the design system.
Support the full product development lifecycle, from discovery and concept development to implementation and post-launch improvements.
Review implemented solutions to ensure design quality and consistency.
Manage multiple design initiatives and priorities in a growing product environment.
Requirements:
5+ years in product design, at least two of them in fintech, payments, banking or complex B2B SaaS.
A portfolio with real case studies: the problem, the constraints, your decisions, and what changed after release.
Confidence with dense interfaces: tables, filters, loading and error states, empty screens, permissions.
Figma at system-author level: variables, components, auto layout, clean handoff.
Fintech literacy — KYC/AML, compliance, security, reporting — and the ability to design within those limits rather than against them.
Autonomy in a distributed team and English at B2 or above.
Nice to have:
Experience designing back-office systems, internal tools, or complex B2B products
Experience working with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or fintech products
Understanding of crypto-related workflows, terminology, and user needs
Experience with data-heavy interfaces, dashboards, tables, and complex workflows
Experience working with and contributing to design systems
Knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive design principles
