Location: United States; Germany; The Netherlands Workplace: Remote PROGRAM OVERVIEW The ClickHouse PhD Research Internship Program offers doctoral students the opportunity to pursue ambitious research alongside ClickHouse Labs researchers and engineers working on some of the most interesting challenges in databases, systems, and data infrastructure. Research interns join ClickHouse Labs for approximately 10-12 weeks to explore meaningful research questions, develop new ideas, and investigate technologies that have the potential to advance both the broader research community and the future of ClickHouse. The program is intentionally designed around research collaboration. Interns are paired with experienced researchers and have the opportunity to pursue work that aligns with their academic interests, ongoing research, and areas of interest within ClickHouse Labs. In some cases, an internship may build on research, a prototype, or a system the student has already begun exploring at their university. We believe the strongest research relationships extend beyond a single summer. Interns may continue their work after returning to their university through academic research, open-source contributions, publications, or other forms of collaboration. Where there is a strong mutual fit, an internship may become the beginning of a longer-term relationship between the researcher, ClickHouse Labs, and the broader academic community. During their internship, researchers will have the opportunity to work closely with ClickHouse Labs, engage with ClickHouse's open-source technology and engineering community, share their findings, and contribute to the intellectual life of the broader research community. Program length: 10-12 weeks, with flexibility based on academic calendars and research needs Typical timing: Summer, beginning approximately June 1 Locations: Opportunities available across the US and Europe, subject to role and employment requirements. Remote first. Research environment: ClickHouse Labs Internship format: Research-focused, mentor-supported, and shaped around areas of mutual research interest Compensation: commensurate with experience, a monthly stipend will be paid RESEARCH AT CLICKHOUSE LABS ClickHouse Labs explores ambitious ideas at the intersection of databases, distributed systems, data infrastructure, and the broader systems research community. We believe some of the most interesting advances in these areas happen through close collaboration between industry and academia. ClickHouse Labs brings together researchers and engineers to explore new ideas, investigate challenging technical problems, and connect academic research with real-world systems at scale. Research interns are an important part of that community. Interns have the opportunity to bring their own research interests and perspectives into ClickHouse Labs while working alongside researchers and engineers who are deeply engaged with both the practical challenges and open research questions shaping the future of data systems. PROGRAM GOALS 1. Identify exceptional PhD researchers working in areas directly relevant to ClickHouse. 2. Give researchers the opportunity to work on meaningful, open-ended problems with ClickHouse Labs. 3. Build long-term relationships with researchers and academic institutions. 4. Encourage continued research and open-source contributions after the internship. 5. Create opportunities for co-authored papers, thesis advising, or other academic collaboration. 6. Increase ClickHouse's visibility within the database and systems research community. 7. Publish and share meaningful research outcomes through the ClickHouse website and other appropriate channels. WHAT MAKES THE PROGRAM DIFFERENT This is intentionally not a highly structured engineering internship and should not detailed planning. ****But the high-level problem area and expectations should defined several months before the internship begins. This flexibility is intentional and allows ClickHouse Labs to respond to: - Emerging research questions - Current ClickHouse priorities - New academic research - Interesting systems or database prototypes - Work candidates have already completed - Opportunities to apply new research ideas to ClickHouse The goal is to identify researchers whose work is already closely aligned with areas ClickHouse cares about and then determine the most valuable research problem to pursue together. CANDIDATE PROFILE We are looking for exceptional PhD students conducting research directly relevant to ClickHouse and the broader database/systems space. IDEAL CANDIDATES - Currently pursuing a PhD in computer science or a closely related field - Conducting research in areas relevant to ClickHouse - Demonstrated research excellence - Strong database systems, distributed systems, hardware, or related technical background - Has demonstrated ability to independently pursue complex research questions - Ideally has prior experience with ClickHouse open source but not required**.** - Has research, prototypes, or publications that could translate into meaningful work with ClickHouse - Interested in continuing research beyond the internship - Potential interest in open-source contribution and academic collaboration CANDIDATE SELECTION PHILOSOPHY The strongest candidates will be researchers whose work is specifically relevant to what ClickHouse Labs wants to explore. A candidate who has already: - Worked with ClickHouse - Built a relevant database or systems prototype - Published research in an area relevant to ClickHouse - Explored a technical problem ClickHouse is interested in may be significantly more valuable than a candidate with an otherwise impressive academic profile but no meaningful connection to our research areas. RESEARCH AREAS & PROJECT SCOPE Unlike an engineering internship program, specific projects do not need to be defined when recruiting begins. Research projects may emerge from: - A candidate's existing research - A recent academic paper - A prototype or system the candidate has developed - An emerging ClickHouse Labs research priority - An opportunity to test or extend an existing research concept within ClickHouse IF THIS IS RELEVANT AND EXCITING TO YOU, PLEASE APPLY! PERKS - Flexible work environment - ClickHouse is a globally distributed company and remote-friendly. We currently operate in over 25 countries. - Healthcare - Employer contributions towards your healthcare. - Equity in the company - Every new team member who joins our company receives stock options. - Time off - Flexible time off in the US, generous entitlement in other countries. - A USD$500 Home office setup if you’re a remote employee. - Global Gatherings – We believe in the power of in-person connection and offer opportunities to engage with colleagues at company-wide offsites. Location: India 9-Month Contract Position About the Job: We're looking for a Regional Growth Marketing Manager to drive pipeline growth through digital campaigns and paid channels, in close collaboration with global marketing and regional Sales. This is a senior, individual-contributor position for someone who knows how great regional digital marketing programs are built in B2B SaaS. The role spans tactics through hands-on execution, shaping and building the growth approach for EMEA and APJ rather than running a standard playbook. You'll join a growing international marketing team in an essential role, reporting to the Director, International Marketing. You'll take ownership of the regional digital strategy and execution in close collaboration with the global Marketing teams. Responsibilities: Drive regional new-logo pipeline growth through digital and paid channels in EMEA and APJ. Partner with the global team on paid and digital campaign execution (SEM, paid social, and paid ABM), helping set regional strategy from planning through execution, optimisation and reporting. Drive the digital ABM motion for the region, turning Sales input into actual targeted, paid campaigns. Adapt global campaigns for regional messaging, rather than deploying generic global assets. Build and own region-native digital content, platform launches, and offerings, doubling down on successful programmes. Surface and mitigate region-specific risks, helping ensure efficient media spend. Own digital pipeline reporting and ROI for the regions, tracking leads, conversion, and spend against campaigns, and reporting results back to leadership. Partner closely with EMEA and APJ Sales and SDR teams to align digital campaigns with account priorities and pipeline targets. Operate independently: define approach, channel mix, regional tools or platforms, and budget requests in line with regional Sales needs and the wider marketing strategy. Qualifications: 8+ years' experience in a digital/growth marketing role with a focus on ABM, paid digital, and demand generation for B2B SaaS in EMEA and APJ. Track record owning digital pipeline growth end-to-end: strategy, execution, budget, and reporting, with close interaction with Sales. Direct experience running paid social, SEM, and ABM programmes in regions, with clear attribution back to pipeline and revenue. Hands-on experience with a CRM (Salesforce or similar), a marketing automation platform (Marketo, HubSpot, or similar), and ABM/paid tools (6sense, Demandbase, or similar). Experience adapting global campaigns for regional markets: localisation, messaging adaptation, regional content, as well as creating their own regional campaigns. Experience working across EMEA and APJ; an additional language is a plus. Cultural awareness and sensitivity operating across international markets. Confident self-starter and communicator with a positive, hands-on and can-do attitude; comfortable operating independently and driving outcomes autonomously. Location: Denmark - Remote; Sweden - Remote Chainguard is the trusted source for open source. By delivering hardened, secure, and production-ready builds of all the open source software engineers and AI agents rely on, Chainguard helps organizations build faster, stay compliant, and eliminate risk. Our customers include Fortune 500 enterprises and global industry leaders, including Anduril, Canva, Fortinet, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, OpenAI, Snap Inc., and Snowflake. Chainguard is venture-backed by leading investors, including Amplify, IVP, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mantis VC, Redpoint Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Spark Capital. The role, in a nutshell: Chainguard is building a safer foundation for software. We work with security and engineering teams who care deeply about supply chain security, open source, and modern infrastructure. We’re looking for a BDR who already knows how to run outbound, and is ready to take it further into more technical conversations, more complex organizations, and more strategic account development. This role is about earning attention from engineers and security leaders , not just landing meetings. You’ll partner closely with enterprise AEs to break into high-value accounts and build pipeline that actually converts. What you’ll do: Drive enterprise account strategy - Work alongside AEs to map target accounts and identify the right entry points across security, platform, and engineering teams. Run thoughtful, technical outbound - Craft highly personalized outreach that resonates with developers, DevOps, and security leaders — no generic sequences. Understand how modern infrastructure works - Research how companies build and ship software (containers, CI/CD, cloud environments) to make your outreach relevant and credible. Lead meaningful early conversations - Qualify opportunities by understanding technical context, risk posture, and business priorities. Build real pipeline, not just meetings - Focus on creating opportunities that move forward — quality over quantity. Act as an extension of the AE - Collaborate on account plans, messaging, and deal progression. Use tools intelligently - Leverage Salesforce, Outreach/Salesloft, and data tools to execute efficiently — but never at the expense of quality. Continuously improve the motion - Test messaging, share insights, and help refine how we engage the market. Be a feedback loop to the business - Bring insights from conversations back to marketing and product — especially what resonates (or doesn’t) with technical buyers. What we're looking for: At least 6 months of BDR/SDR experience (or equivalent transferrable experience) Proven ability to generate pipeline through outbound (not just inbound qualification) Experience engaging multiple stakeholders within technical or complex organizations Strong writing skills — especially in crafting personalized, relevant outreach Curious and motivated to learn how modern software and security actually work Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building your own approach Experience with Salesforce, Outreach/Salesloft, or similar tools Track record of hitting or exceeding pipeline targets What makes this role compelling: Sell something technical buyers respect — security + open source + developer-first Go deeper technically — engage with real infrastructure and security problems Operate as part of the deal team — not just top-of-funnel support Have real impact on revenue — not just activity metrics Compensation: $100,000 OTE About Us We live and breathe our company values: We are customer obsessed — We focus on delivering solutions to our customers that create value and make their lives better. We have a bias for intentional action — We prioritize, plan, try things, and fail fast. We don't take ourselves too seriously (but we do serious work) — We are solving an important problem which takes focus, but we also like to enjoy the journey. We trust each other and assume good intentions — We're transparent with decisions to empower team members to make well informed decisions. A few of the benefits we offer: Flexible & Remote-First Culture: Work remotely with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone and internet costs. Our Approach to Equity: Receive stock options upon hire and promotion. Plus, you can participate in secondary offerings and have 10 years to exercise your options (yes, you read that correctly: 10 years!). 100% Covered Health Insurance: We cover 100% of your health, vision and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents. Nothing comes out of your paycheck. ∞ Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need – to do our best work, we need to recharge and reset. 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We offer 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child's first year. If your experience is close but doesn't fulfill all requirements, please apply. We're building the best team in technology and are focused on hiring "Chainguardians" with unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. Chainguard is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, reproductive health decisions, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, genetic information, political views or activity, or other applicable legally protected characteristics. We also consider qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. By submitting your application, you acknowledge that Chainguard will process your personal data in accordance with Chainguard's Global Candidate Privacy Notice . ©2026 Chainguard.
