ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a SDK Engineer - Python to join our SDK team and own how developers talk to Supabase from Python. You'll work closely with the rest of the SDK team, our Auth, Realtime, Storage, PostgREST, Functions, CLI and Docs teams, and the open-source community, helping us make the Python SDK a library Python developers genuinely enjoy using.
Python developers reach Supabase from backend services, data pipelines, notebooks, and a growing number of AI agents and agent frameworks. The Python SDK is how all of them talk to the platform: database queries, auth, storage, realtime and edge functions, in both sync and async flavors.
This is a library-authoring role, and the work happens in the open: public repos, public issue trackers, and API decisions whose consequences last for years. If you get satisfaction from a type checker that catches the bug before your users do, from an async client that cleans up after itself, and from an issue tracker that isn't a graveyard, you'll like it here.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in async, fast-paced environments and is excited about building developer tools that scale to millions.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Build and evolve our Python SDK across database, auth, storage, realtime and functions, with both sync and async APIs that feel natural in Python.
- Start new things. Alongside the maintenance work, find what's missing, make the case for it, and build it. Nobody will hand you the list.
- Work in the open. Triage inbound issues, review and shepherd outside contributions, keep CI and release automation healthy, and hold a clear, kind line on scope.
- Own the typing experience. Make the SDK fully typed and checker-friendly, so autocomplete and static analysis stay correct in real codebases.
- Keep us honest across environments. Multiple Python versions, sync and async frameworks, workers, serverless and notebooks — with dependency ranges that don't fight our users' projects. Test it, don't assume it.
- Work on realtime. Long-lived websocket connections, reconnection, and subscription and presence semantics.
- Track the platform. When auth, realtime, storage, postgrest or edge functions ship a change, make sure the SDK reflects it, and that we say so in the changelog.
- Design in public. Write the RFCs, migration guides, release notes and docs. Treat a breaking change as a deprecation path plus a migration story, not a version bump.
- Make our SDK legible to AI coding agents, which are now a major consumer of it.
YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Know modern Python typing deeply. You use generics, protocols, overloads and TypedDict as design tools, run strict type checking, and fix type errors without reaching for Any.
- Have authored or maintained a published library with a public API and users outside your own company. You know what it costs to change something people depend on.
- Know the maintainer side of open source. Issue triage at volume, reviewing outside PRs, release automation, changelogs and semver, security reports, and saying no to a feature request without losing the person who asked.
- Are fluent in asyncio and have opinions on how a library should serve both sync and async callers.
- Know Python packaging for libraries: pyproject.toml, wheels, modern tooling, version support policy, and why libraries shouldn't pin their dependencies tightly.
- Test as a habit: unit, type-level and end-to-end against a real stack. Every fix comes with a regression test.
- Write well. Design docs, changelogs and issue replies are a large part of the output here, much of it public, and we're async by default.
- Have real autonomy: you find the important work, scope it, ship it, and say what you didn't do.
- Communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical audiences
- Have experience in async or globally distributed teams
- Are energized by solving real-world problems for developers
- Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving quickly
Bonus points if you: have run a major-version migration for a public package, know your way around JWT/OAuth, have built integrations for AI agent frameworks, or have generated idiomatic clients from a schema.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Fully Remote
We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.

Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.

ABOUT THE TEAM

- ~400 team members
- 60+ countries
- 20+ languages spoken
- Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)

Role Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Research Engineer to join our newly forming Search and Services Platform team within Research Platform. You will build and operate the large-scale search and services that our models rely on as tools — from self-hosted, web-scale, search indexes to knowledge graphs and databases served through MCP. You will work closely with researchers and with the pretraining data, sandbox and data platform teams to make these services reliable, scalable and fast, on infrastructure measured in hundreds of terabytes of NVMe storage and thousands of CPU cores to support both data generation and critical training runs.
What you will do
As a Research Engineer on the Search and Services team, your responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- Designing, building and operating large-scale search infrastructure: self-hosted Vespa clusters indexing web-scale corpora, managed indexes for smaller corpora, and vendor search endpoints.
- Self-hosting and maintaining a wide range of structured data sources — knowledge graphs (Wikidata, UniProt, Materials Project), scholarly data (OpenAlex, OpenAIRE), statistical databases (Eurostat, World Bank, IMF, OECD), open data portals and more.
- Designing interfaces and tools to expose to the models and agents to use the services in different ways (direct YQL or SPARQL queries, or more refined and constrained MCPs to mimic external services) to support data generation and agentic training.
- Building the data pipelines that ingest, index and serve massive datasets, including indexing our own pretraining corpora for exploration, deduplication and eval-leakage checks.
- Building strong relationships with researchers and adjacent teams (pretraining data,, sandbox, data platform), understanding their workflows and enabling them to achieve more by leveraging your expertise.
- Communicating and producing documentation or any content that will help teams make the most of the services you'll build.
About you
- 5+ years of successful experience in search engineering, data infrastructure, or a similar SRE / platform role.
- Proficiency in software development (Python, Go...) and programming best practices.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale search or data systems (e.g. Vespa, Elasticsearch / OpenSearch, ClickHouse or similar).
- Exposure to site reliability engineering: root cause analysis, in-production troubleshooting, on-call rotations...)
- Exposure to infrastructure management: containerization, orchestration (Kubernetes), infra-as-code, monitoring, logging, alerting, observability...).
- Experience designing and operating data pipelines that address large amounts of data.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (ability to contextualizing, gauging risks and getting buy-in for high stakes and impactful solutions).
- Ownership, high agency and constantly seeking to learn and improving things for others.
- Autonomous, self-driven and able to work well in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Low ego and team spirit mindset.
- Your application will be all the more interesting if you also have:
- First-hand Vespa (or equivalent large-scale information retrieval) experience.
- Experience building or operating MCP servers / tool-serving infrastructure for LLMs.
- Familiarity with knowledge graphs, RDF / SPARQL, or large structured databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, DuckDB...).
- Experience with large bare-metal infrastructure or HPC environments.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and work-life balance. Benefits vary by country and may include healthcare coverage, parental leave, retirement plans, relocation support, wellness programs, meal and transportation allowances, and other location-specific perks.

- Maintain detailed test logs and accurate documentation, and ensure configuration control on final activities.
- Assist in managing activities related to satellite launch campaigns.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives - procedures, processes, tools, test automation, and 6S.

- Relevant university degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Space Studies, Applied Physics, Electronics, or similar, or equivalent hands-on experience in a related role.

- Proficient in a Linux environment, comfortable modifying and debugging Python scripts, and working with Git.
- Systems thinking across avionics, power, and software, enough to tell a test setup fault from a genuine unit fault.
- Experience using lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Excellent communication skills, with particular attention to detail in procedures, preparation, and execution.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and schematics.

Location: Valencia
Workplace: Hybrid
ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:
Title: Supply Chain Intern
Department: Global Supply Chain - Valencia Office
Location: Valencia, Spain
Type of Contract: Internship, with opportunity to transition to a permanent position
Working model: On-site
Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)
Why this role matters
As an R&D Supply Chain Intern, you help keep an aerospace R&D project in Valencia supplied with the parts, materials and services it needs to move forward. In a supply chain built around specialised components, long lead times and a limited supplier base, every RFQ sent on time and every delay caught early protects the project schedule. This is a real seat on a real programme, not a shadowing exercise. You will learn how flight-grade hardware actually gets sourced, from engineering requirement to delivered part, with experienced colleagues alongside you.
Who We Are
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world’s largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Support the sourcing of components, parts and services across our supplier base, working alongside engineering, production and procurement
- Help translate engineering requirements into RFQs and supplier evaluations, learning how technical specifications become commercial decisions
- Monitor deliveries, follow up with suppliers on delays, and keep the team updated on order status
- Help spot supply risks early, including long lead times, single sources and obsolescence, and support the search for alternatives
- Support the R&D project in Valencia as needs and requirements change, adapting quickly alongside the team
What we’re looking for
Must haves:
- Currently studying, or recently graduated in, engineering (aerospace, industrial, mechanical or similar), supply chain, or business with a genuine technical interest
- Basic familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes, ideally in aerospace (coursework, projects or student teams count)
- Comfortable reading technical documents such as drawings, specifications and datasheets
- More drawn to coordination and management (planning, follow-up, working with suppliers and teams) than to hands-on technical design
- Able to work under pressure and adapt when priorities and requirements shift
- Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written
- Eligible for an internship agreement (convenio de prácticas) with a university or training institution
Nice to haves:
- Experience working with local suppliers in Valencia
- Some exposure to RFQs, supplier selection, ERP tools or Excel-based tracking
- Comfortable in a production plant environment and keen to work hand in hand with production and engineering teams
- Curiosity about how complex hardware gets built and bought, and the appetite to ask why

Articulate the value of GitLab to commercial prospects and customers, clearly connecting our platform to their business outcomes, productivity goals, and security needs.
Manage your territory by documenting buying criteria and processes, defining next steps and owners, and keeping opportunity information accurate and up to date. Create clear quarterly forecasts against your plan through regular pipeline and deal reviews.
Collaborate closely with partners, Sales Development, Customer Success, Renewals, and Solutions Architects to drive new business, ensure adoption, and support expansion while minimizing churn and contraction.
Represent GitLab in customer meetings and events by driving attendance and delivering compelling presentations, proposals, and reports that communicate value and outcomes. Contribute customer ideas to our public issue tracker and apply MEDPICC and Command of the Message on all opportunities.
Mentor and coach fellow Commercial Account Executives, sharing sales strategies, customer insights, and lessons learned to help elevate team performance and contribute to team goal achievement.
Regularly meet on-site with key customers to develop and strengthen executive-level relationships, ensuring GitLab is viewed as a strategic, long-term partner at the highest levels of the organization.
What you'll bring
Ability to drive complex B2B software sales cycles and build trusted relationships with commercial and Commercialet customers, ideally in a Commercial Account Executive or similar role serving Commercialet customers.
Ability to quickly learn and sell a complex SaaS or DevSecOps platform to commercial and Commercialet accounts, including identifying and breaking into new customers.
Excellence in operational rigor for deal management in Salesforce and Clari (or similar CRM and forecasting tools), with the ability to create reliable forecasts and manage your territory using both insight and data.
Skill in managing and closing larger, more complex deals in the Commercial segment using proven multi-threading, negotiation, and executive coverage strategies.
Self-starter who is a manager of one when it comes to territory account planning, quarterly and annual KPI execution, and driving new business acquisition and expansion through consultative, multi-stakeholder sales motions.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach peers, share knowledge and learnings across the team, and take on additional team-level responsibilities that elevate team performance and collective goal achievement.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate value at all levels of the customer organization, lead clear and compelling customer conversations, and remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
Experience driving adoption and consumption with customers whilst leading your account team.
Outbounding: Not afraid to email, call, prospect into prospective accounts whilst building value narratives that land.
Adaptability, flexibility, creativity and a desire to build something new!
