About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We are looking for ML Engineers and Research Engineers to help detect and mitigate misuse of our AI systems. As a member of the Safeguards ML team, you will build systems that identify harmful use—from individual policy violations to sophisticated, coordinated attacks—and develop defenses that keep our products safe as capabilities advance. You will also work on systems that protect user wellbeing and ensure our models behave appropriately across a wide range of contexts. This work feeds directly into Anthropic's Responsible Scaling Policy commitments.
Responsibilities
Develop classifiers to detect misuse and anomalous behavior at scale. This includes developing synthetic data pipelines for training classifiers and methods to automatically source representative evaluations to iterate on
Build systems to monitor for harms that span multiple exchanges, such as coordinated cyber attacks and influence operations, and develop new methods for aggregating and analyzing signals across contexts
Evaluate and improve the safety of agentic products—developing both threat models and environments to test for agentic risks, and developing and deploying mitigations for prompt injection attacks
Conduct research on automated red-teaming, adversarial robustness, and other research that helps test for or find misuse
You may be a good fit if you
Have 4+ years of experience in ML engineering, research engineering, or applied research, in academia or industry
Have proficiency in Python and experience building ML systems
Are comfortable working across the research-to-deployment pipeline, from exploratory experiments to production systems
Are worried about misuse risks of AI systems, and want to work to mitigate them
Have strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong candidates may also have experience with
Language modeling and transformers
Building classifiers, anomaly detection systems, or behavioral ML
Adversarial machine learning or red-teaming
Interpretability or probes
Reinforcement learning
High-performance, large-scale ML systems
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.
To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

This is a hands-on, high-volume role for a senior commercial lawyer who is energized by closing deals, comfortable as the single point of accountability for a contract, and fluent in the data privacy and regulatory issues that come with selling identity, biometric, and fraud-prevention technology into highly regulated industries. You will work daily with business stakeholders and counterparties, and partner with our Privacy, InfoSec, and Product teams to land agreements that protect Incode while keeping deals moving. Beyond the deal table, you'll counsel Product and Engineering on new products and features and go-to-market, keeping Incode's launches and customer commitments aligned.
What You’ll Own & Drive
Product & Go-To-Market (GTM)
Advise Product and Engineering teams on new products and features, from design stage through launch and across the full product lifecycle.
Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risk across new and existing products and features.
Monitor evolving privacy, biometric, and AI-related legal and regulatory developments across the U.S. and Canada and proactively flag changes that affect Incode's products or contracting positions.
Review and approve product-related marketing and external communications, with a focus on consumer protection, unfair/deceptive practices, and privacy posture.
Act as the trusted, responsive legal partner to Sales, Account Management, and Customer Success setting expectations, communicating ETAs, and unblocking deals against quarter-end and go-live timelines.
Translate complex legal and privacy concepts into practical guidance business teams can act on and escalate novel or high-risk issues to the General Counsel with a clear recommendation.
Integrate emerging AI governance and AI-ethics frameworks into responsible product development.
Develop deep fluency in Incode's proprietary technology and product architecture to provide grounded, practical advice.
Commercial Negotiations
Own end-to-end drafting, review, and negotiation of the full range of customer commercial agreements across the North America market in addition to POCs, MSAs, and DPAs, you will negotiate OEM and reseller/partner agreements, NDAs/MNDAs, and amendments.
Serve as the single accountable owner (“hold the pen”) for assigned deals, driving them from first review through redlines, issue resolution, and final execution.
Review and negotiate third-party (customer) paper, quickly identifying material risks, deviations from Incode's positions, and the handful of points truly worth negotiating.
Lead customer-facing calls and direct negotiations, advising the business on key commercial terms — limitation of liability, indemnification, term and renewal, SLAs, fees and pricing interplay, IP and trademark use, and termination.
Provide clear, documented sign-off for signature and partner with Legal Operations on Salesforce and legal software intake workflows.
Your Background
D. (or equivalent) and admission to, and good standing in, at least one U.S. state bar.
7+ years of relevant experience as a commercial/technology transactions lawyer, ideally a mix of top law firm and in-house experience at a fast-paced technology company.

ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Ramp is scaling fast in the UK. Our European operations team (Europs) gets UK and EU businesses onboarded across Ramp's own regulated entities and our card-issuing and payments partners. We're a small team that runs on frontier AI tooling: our operators build and maintain their own automations and apps, and have taken daily processes from hours to minutes. We're hiring a KYB Operations Lead to run the UK onboarding operation day to day. You'll manage our UK operators, own the queue, make the hard calls on complex cases and escalations, and keep improving how the operation works as volume grows. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be as comfortable in a difficult ownership structure as in a capacity plan.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Line-manage and develop the UK operators: prioritisation, 1:1s, performance, and helping them grow as builders as well as reviewers
- Own overall queue management and resourcing for UK onboarding: what gets worked first, who works it, and how we keep cases moving through leave and spikes in volume
- Make the final first-line (1LoD) call on complex cases: complex ownership structures, EDD, PEP and adverse-media outcomes, and cases that need a judgement rather than a checklist
- Own escalations with our card-issuing and payments partners, including recurring failures, disputed or unnecessary requirements, and turning each fix into a repeatable playbook
- Run customer-facing onboarding communications with quality: clear requests, fast follow-ups, no avoidable back-and-forth
- Define and report operational metrics (caseload by provider, time to close, handling time) and use them to improve the operation
- Find and remove friction: spot requirements customers shouldn't have to meet twice and work with Product and Engineering to design them out
- Build consistent, evidenced 1LoD decision standards that hold up to partner sample reviews and second-line scrutiny
- Act as hands-on backup for UK safeguarding: daily reconciliations and investigating breaks when cover is needed
WHAT YOU NEED
- 5+ years in KYB / onboarding / financial-crime operations at a UK fintech, EMI, PI or bank
- Practical working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework for EMIs/PIs: MLRs 2017, JMLSG guidance, and FCA expectations for customer due diligence
- Strong judgement on complex business customers: multi-layer ownership, overseas parents, trusts, PEPs, and knowing when to escalate
- Clear written communication, both with customers and in documented case decisions
- Demonstrated use of AI tools in your day-to-day work to go faster or do better work, with concrete examples
- A bias to fix the process rather than just work the queue
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Line management of operators or analysts (strongly preferred)
- Experience working with card-issuing, BaaS or payments partners on onboarding (e.g. partner due-diligence requests, sample reviews)
- Safeguarding / client-money reconciliation experience
- Writing requirements for Product and Engineering teams
- EU onboarding experience or a second European language
BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO ALL FULL-TIME RAMP EMPLOYEES (GLOBAL)
- Flexible PTO
- Centralized home-office equipment ordering
- Health and wellness stipend
- Budget for intra-office travel
- Weekly coffee stipend

ABOUT THE ROLE
Ramp is seeking a 2LoD Compliance Strategist to provide dedicated independent second-line assurance across Ramp UK & Irish regulated businesses.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can turn regulatory expectations into a practical, evidence-led monitoring and assurance programme.
The role sits within Ramp's Europe Compliance function and supports the Head of Compliance & MLRO - Europe. You will not own first-line operational decisions or perform routine casework. Instead, you will independently test and challenge the design and operation of financial-crime, safeguarding, payments, outsourcing, governance, and regulatory-change controls. You will make sure that findings are understood, remediated by accountable owners, and independently validated before closure.
Ramp Payments Europe is developing across multiple legal entities, jurisdictions, payment rails, banking partners, product journeys, and shared Group services. The successful candidate will help give management and Boards a clear, reliable view of whether controls work in practice and where action is needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Run a practical, risk-based compliance monitoring programme across Ramps European entities.
- Test key controls and identify gaps, with a focus on whether they work in practice.
- Support assurance over financial-crime, payments, safeguarding, and outsourced-service controls.
- Track regulatory, Board, partner, audit, and internal commitments to ensure actions are completed on time.
- Manage findings and remediation, helping accountable teams resolve issues and confirming actions are closed.
- Produce clear reporting for management and Boards on key risks, control issues, incidents, and progress.
- Provide independent compliance input and advisory on significant product, payments, outsourcing, and operational changes.
- Deputise for the Head of Compliance & MLRO where required.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Min. 4 year of experience in compliance, risk, audit, controls, or regulatory change within payments, fintech, banking, or another regulated environment.
- Experience supporting compliance monitoring, control testing, issue management, remediation, or governance reporting.
- Working knowledge of UK and/or EU financial-services regulation, with the ability to apply requirements pragmatically in a fast-moving environment.
- Familiarity with financial-crime controls such as customer due diligence, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, or record keeping.
- An interest in areas such as payments, safeguarding, outsourcing, operational resilience, or third-party oversight.
- Strong judgement and communication skills, with the confidence to identify issues, explain risk clearly, and work constructively with stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently, managing priorities, and partnering with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Risk teams.
- Curious about using AI responsibly to improve compliance analysis, monitoring, or documentation.
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Experience in a UK payment institution, e-money institution, bank, card issuer, acquiring business, or payments fintech.
- Experience supporting FCA-facing work, banking-partner due diligence requirements.
- Experience with Consumer Duty, safeguarding, or formal outsourcing governance.
- Professional compliance, audit, risk, or financial-crime qualification.

About GiveDirectly
What if the most effective way to fight poverty was also the simplest: give people money and trust them to decide what they need?
Since 2011, GiveDirectly has proven that idea at scale. We’ve delivered more than $1B in cash directly to 2+ million people living in poverty and crisis across 15 countries, and rigorous research shows the results: healthier kids, stronger businesses, sturdier homes, and more resilient families and local economies. Cash is now widely recognized as one of the most scalable, cost-effective, and dignified forms of aid.
Our ambition goes beyond our own programs. We want cash to become the benchmark for aid, much as the index fund became the benchmark for investing, so that every aid dollar is held to one question:
is this doing more good than giving the money directly to people living in poverty?
We’re growing fast, and this is a rare and important moment to join.
We expect to hit $1B in revenue in 2026 with significant growth forecast for 2027. At the same time we are building a new technology stack and operating model designed for a roughly 10x change in scale, and we are actively pursuing partnerships with major funders to move even more money in bigger ways, to people who need it. We are known for our extensive integration of technology into field processes; our quantitative approach to performance measurement; and our commitment to rigorous, independent, experimental evaluation of our impact, with multiple Randomized Control Trials completed and others in progress.
How we work
Our team spans 20+ countries and 69 languages. Our culture is candid, analytical, and non-hierarchical. We expect high ownership and give people real responsibility early. Our values are central to how we hire, work, and grow, and they are deliberately opinionated:
Recipients first.
Recipients’ preferences come before those of donors or ourselves.
Team next.
We optimize for organizational success, not individual success.
Be proactively candid.
We say what we believe and share information openly.
Create positive energy.
We aim to be a source of energy for colleagues, not a drain.
Think rigorously; act quickly.
We reason from first principles, then act rather than debate.
Know yourself and grow.
We own our imperfections and seek feedback to grow.
Accept reality. Propose solutions.
We focus on what can change and bring solutions, not just problems.
Be productively ambitious.
We take risks for step-change impact, not incremental progress.
If they describe how you like to work and they energize you, this could be a great fit.

At this stage of GiveDirectly’s growth and scale, we’re prioritizing hiring in the countries below, where we can employ you through a GD entity or an established employer of record: Cameroon, Canada, Colombia, DRC, Germany, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Uganda, United Kingdom, and United States. This list reflects where our employment infrastructure is established today, and may evolve as we grow. Travel:
Approximately 3-4 trips per year, including at least one to a country of operation and one to a key in-person leadership moment.
About this role
We are currently planning for a significant increase in scale, and we are building the People function that can carry it.
This is our first senior talent management role. Today we have pieces of talent management programs and processes in place, but not yet a function. You will build one: an intentional approach to how we onboard, develop, and retain our people. That covers performance management and its link to pay, manager and leadership development, learning, onboarding, talent planning and succession, employee listening and engagement, and culture and values.
The first year is weighted toward four priorities: joining the redesign of our performance system early, alongside the Head of People, and owning it as it moves into execution, as we move to pay for performance, revamping onboarding ahead of our next wave of hiring, planning our values retreat for senior leaders, and getting a read on employee listening and engagement. As those take shape, the balance shifts toward the longer-term build: the vision and roadmap for the function, a foundational manager program, talent planning and succession, and the team around you.
The reason for this weight: the performance system and onboarding are our most acute gaps today, but they should not be construed as a ceiling of the job. We are hiring a senior talent management leader who can shape the whole function over several years, not the owner of one or two programs. If your instinct on reading this is that the performance redesign is the whole job, this role probably isn’t the right fit, and the reverse is also true: if you want to set strategy but not build the first versions yourself, year one will frustrate you.
What you’ll do
Build the talent management function
Within your first 90 days, assess what exists today across these areas, recommend the sequencing for the first year, and agree to it with the Head of People.
Set the vision and multi-year roadmap for talent management across the areas it covers, and sequence the work against the People roadmap.
Propose the team around it, and decide what we build in-house and what we buy or borrow.
Connect talent management to workforce planning, compensation, and recruitment, in partnership with the Head of People, Finance, and function leaders.
Build an approach to talent and succession planning, starting with critical roles: work with leaders to identify succession gaps, assess potential successors, and put development plans in place to prepare people for future opportunities.
Own the performance system
Join the performance system redesign early, alongside the Head of People, and own it as it moves into execution: a system that produces reliable, calibrated outputs to inform merit increases, connected to our new salary bands.
Make the system worth using, not a check-the-box exercise: one that helps managers hold better performance and development conversations and gives employees clarity on expectations, feedback, and growth.
Build calibration and the data around it so ratings and merit decisions stay consistent and fair across countries, currencies, and manager quality.
Set a clear global standard for handling low performance that doesn’t default to a misconduct process, and equip managers to use it.
Ensure the performance system helps managers identify and support sustained high performance, connecting it to recognition, development, and career growth opportunities.
Iterate the system through multiple cycles, using calibration, outcome data, and feedback from managers and employees to improve it.
Build how people join, learn, and are led
Revamp onboarding ahead of our next wave of hiring: own the content and experience for new hires and their managers, working with People Ops on process and systems.
Build a foundational manager program and the tools behind it: feedback, coaching, difficult conversations, and performance management.
Extend into leadership development and broader learning as the function matures.
Shape culture and listen to employees
Plan the values retreat with an external facilitator and our executive sponsor, and own what carries into daily work afterward.
Get a read on listening and engagement today, covering what we hear, where it goes, and what should change, and use it to build our employee listening strategy.
What this role is not
Not a recruiting role. Hiring sits with our Talent Acquisition team. You partner with them on the handoff into onboarding and on how we assess and develop talent once people are here.
Not the owner of compensation design. Pay structures and bands are set through our compensation work. You own how performance is assessed and how ratings connect to pay decisions.
Not an employee relations or casework role. Cases in country belong to managers and HR Managers, supported by the People team. You own the performance system and the manager capability that helps them handle concerns well.
Not the owner of HR systems or process administration. Onboarding workflows and our HRIS sit with People Ops. You own the content and the experience.
Who we’re looking for
Required
7+ years in talent management, performance, or organizational design roles, including time leading a function or a major part of one.
You have designed a performance system, not only administered one. You can show how ratings connected to pay and what you changed after the first cycle.
You have kept a rating and pay system fair across contexts with different currencies, labor markets, and manager quality.
You are a hands-on builder. You have built talent management programs and systems from scratch, or close to it, in a start-up or scale-up: performance, onboarding, manager development, or a whole function, where what you needed did not exist and you built it while the volume was already arriving. We are not looking for steady-state operating experience, or for leaders who have overseen this work without building it themselves.
You think in systems. You can show how a change in one part of a talent system, such as ratings, calibration, pay, promotion, or onboarding, shows up in the others, and you reason from the underlying problem rather than copying another organization’s template.
You design with change management in mind from the start. You plan for how managers and employees in different countries and cultures will adopt a new program or system as part of the design, not as a rollout step afterward, and can show how you knew it stuck rather than being worked around.
You have deep experience in at least two of onboarding, manager development, and employee engagement or listening, and working experience in the third. You have built programs and content people actually used, and can show how you knew they worked.
A track record of joining a major project already in motion, taking it over, and working through disagreement with a senior partner, and of influencing without formal authority in a matrixed organization.
Judgment and prioritization. You decide what slips and say so plainly.
Preferred
Experience in a mission-driven or international organization, ideally alongside high-growth commercial or tech experience.
Experience working across multiple countries, including sub-Saharan Africa.
Experience working with external facilitators, consultants, or vendors, and knowing what to hand off and what to hold.
Comfort using data (survey, performance, calibration) to make decisions, and knowing when the numbers mislead.
Exposure to compensation design or close work with a total rewards team.
Professional French or Portuguese.

Anthropic is an AI safety and research company working to build reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our customers and society as a whole. As an Enforcement Analyst focused on Agentic Alignment, you will play a crucial role in identifying and investigating harmful and unexpected behavior by models, and make enforcement decisions accordingly. You'll work closely with a suite of cross-functional teams, within and outside of Safeguards, including: Policy, Threat Intel, Engineering, Research, and Transparency. Your work will be essential in maintaining Anthropic's commitment to safe and beneficial AI as Claude takes on more autonomous work.
Important context for this role: In this position you may be exposed to and engage with explicit content spanning a range of topics, including those of a sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing nature. There is also an on-call responsibility across the Policy and Enforcement teams.
Key responsibilities
Review and investigate potential instances of Agentic Misalignment, working from transcripts, tool-use traces, and code
Triage cases by severity and urgency and share through the appropriate channels
Help operationalize review pipelines for agentic cases, translating leads from detection outputs and investigations into structured review workflows that scale
Make enforcement decisions under the Usage Policy, applying it consistently to novel agentic scenarios and across surfaces, and documenting the reasoning behind each decision
Assess cyber-related agentic activity, such as scanning, exploitation attempts, credential misuse or malicious code to determine its real-world harm potential
Write clear, well-evidenced case write-ups for audiences ranging from enforcement peers to senior leadership
Identify patterns and trends across cases, and close the loop between enforcement outcomes and upstream improvements by feeding findings back to policy, detection and research teams to improve policies, classifiers and model behavior
Maintain rigorous documentation of enforcement decisions, review logic and precedents to build institutional knowledge
Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Research, Engineering and Policy partners so that detection coverage keeps pace with how agentic misuse and misaligned behavior evolve
Use AI systems, including Claude, to accelerate your own investigations: summarizing long transcripts, analyzing code, querying data and building lightweight tooling
Contribute to regular reports on agentic harm trends and enforcement outcomes
Minimum qualifications
Can read and understand code (for example Python, JavaScript or shell scripts) well enough to follow what happened and why it matters
Have a background in security, cyber threat intelligence, or a similar technical field that lets you understand how cyber harm happens and judge its severity
Have experience in trust and safety, enforcement, investigations or a related field, translating ambiguous policy questions and facts into defensible enforcement decisions and clear written findings
Have conducted structured investigations, building a case from first signal to final finding and knowing when the evidence is strong enough to act on
Have supported or contributed to formal enforcement actions, including case documentation, evidence packaging and escalation coordination
Write clearly and concisely, and can present complex findings to stakeholders across Legal, Policy and Engineering, including non-technical audiences
Have sound judgment about when a case needs escalation, and the resilience to work with difficult content
Preferred qualifications
Have demonstrated use of AI systems to accelerate your own work, and are excited to keep finding new ways to do so
Are comfortable working with large volumes of data, from long transcripts, logs and traces to complex, multi-table datasets, and surfacing the behavioral patterns that matter
Are curious about how AI agents behave, and enjoy investigating behavior no one has categorized before, building approaches where established playbooks don’t exist
Have familiarity with AI safety and alignment, and current debates about the risks of increasingly autonomous AI systems
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$245,000
—
$285,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience

- Build strong working relationships across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Product, Operations, Commercial, Finance, Technology and regional teams to align delivery and resolve dependencies.
- Maintain clear governance over engagement risks, issues, decisions, action plans and remediation, escalating material matters to the Head of Compliance Strategy and relevant governance forums.
- Produce concise and decision-useful updates for Compliance leadership, senior management and governance committees, including themes, trends, risks, commitments and delivery status.
- Partner with relevant second-line teams to ensure external engagement activity is consistent with the Compliance framework, risk appetite, regulatory obligations and the responsibilities of the three lines of defence.
- Coach, develop and set clear expectations for Senior Analyst(s).
- Create and implement a high-quality, scalable and collaborative partner-engagement framework.
- Identify opportunities to use better data, tooling, workflow design and documentation to improve response quality, reduce duplication and increase the resilience of the Compliance operating model.
- Represent Compliance Strategy in cross-functional strategic initiatives and take on other priorities that support long-term capability maturation.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Typically 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within compliance, regulatory compliance, risk, audit, legal or a related function in payments, fintech, banking or another regulated financial-services environment.
- Demonstrable experience leading external partner, banking, scheme, audit, regulatory or due-diligence engagements.
- Experience translating regulatory or partner expectations into practical requirements, delivery plans, governance and measurable improvements.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional workstreams with multiple stakeholders, dependencies and deadlines.
- Experience coaching or managing people, setting priorities, giving feedback and creating clarity in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem and the compliance expectations relevant to banking partners, payment schemes and regulated financial institutions.

- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to present complex issues, defend recommendations and influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong judgement and the confidence to challenge constructively, distinguish material from non-material issues and escalate appropriately.
- Strong organisational, analytical and project-management skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes under pressure.
- ICA, ACAMS or another relevant professional qualification is desirable.

ABOUT VOODOO
Voodoo is a consumer tech company founded in Paris in 2013, with one mission: entertain the world. Today we are 1,000 people, generating $1b+ in annual revenue, profitably. Our games and apps have passed 7 billion downloads and reach 200 million+ active users every month, making Voodoo the #3 mobile publisher worldwide in downloads, after Google and Meta. We were backed by Goldman Sachs, Tencent and GBL along the way.
This position is Paris-based, with relocation support available.
TEAM
For this position, you will be an integral part of a newly established internal studio, a dynamic and focused team dedicated to one of our most promising prototype in scale. This studio is specifically chartered to improve this high-potential game up to the successful and market-ready title it is meant to become.
You will be part of the team building Draft Showdown, a turn-based multiplayer game, working alongside its client engineers and game designers as a full member of the game team. You will be part of a small group owning the backend that this game needs as its requirements become more specific and demanding.
You’ll also be plugged into Voodoo's shared gaming backend platform - the same architecture and patterns that power titles like Mob Control and Block Jam 3D - building on it and contributing back, in close collaboration with the wider backend team. You get the focus and ownership of a dedicated game engineer with the leverage and support of a battle-tested platform behind you.
This is a pivotal hire: Draft Showdown is moving towards competitive multiplayer, which means moving game logic from the client to the server. They are also implementing cheat detection safeguards to the game.
You will be central to that transition.
ROLE
You will design and build the server-side foundation that takes Draft Showdown from a client-authoritative game to a competitive, server-validated one. The current game computes everything on the device - progression, economy, and match outcomes alike, which won't hold up for competitive PvP. Your job is to change that.
Working closely with client developers and game designers from feature design through delivery, validation and iteration, you will:
- Build server-side validation for the metagame - currency, card upgrades, chest opens, and progression - staged by risk, replicating economy and reward logic on the server.
- Move toward server authority for competitive features, where game state lives in one place and can be trusted.
- Implement and improve matchmaking and cheat detection safeguards for a Deterministic lockstep PvP architecture
- Design APIs and player-state management that the Unity client integrates against, and help shape how client and server split responsibilities.
The responsibilities are cross-functional, ranging from infrastructure, API design & coding all the way to client-side integration (we are using Golang).
To succeed in this role, you will need to have passion for everything you do. You love to write code that scales to millions of users, are skilled at requirements gathering, champion new tech initiatives & leverage existing solutions.
PROFILE
- 5+ years of backend development experience
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals
- Extreme fluency in Golang (at least 1 year in a professional environment)
- Mastery of SQL and NoSQL
- Background in high-scale systems
- Understanding of Unix-like environments
- AI-first mindset: Comfortable using AI daily and building custom agents or reusable automations to speed up your work
- Experience working in cross-functional agile teams
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of solving complex problems related to scalability, performance, and integration in high-stakes environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing teams and interfacing effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to be self sufficient and work autonomously.
- A deep interest in game development is a plus.
- Based or willing to relocate in Paris
BENEFITS
- Best-in-class compensation
- Other benefits according to the country you reside
