Coherent Solutions
builds custom software for enterprises and high-growth companies. Founded in 1995, we have 1,700+ people across 10 countries, serving clients in fitness & wellness, healthcare, fintech, manufacturing, and technology.
Our model combines local client leadership with global engineering teams across Europe and Latin America. We are investing heavily in AI and modern software delivery via initiatives like
Coherent Catalyst
, and we expect our client-facing teams to lead those conversations with customers.
About the Role
This is a pure hunter role.
You carry a quota, and your primary responsibility is winning new enterprise clients through your own prospecting, BDR introductions, inbound leads, partner referrals, and your professional network. Once a new account is closed, you will work closely with our delivery management teams to grow it into a long-term, strategic relationship.
You will engage with buyers ranging from directors to C-suite executives and navigating complex, multi-disciplinary decision processes. The services market is changing rapidly; AI is reshaping how software gets built, delivered, and priced. The expectation for this role is to understand these shifts and discuss them confidently with executive buyers. You don’t need to be an AI engineer, but you must understand where the market is heading and connect those changes to how it impacts a client’s growth, efficiency, risk, and bottom line.
What You'll Do
Own the full sales cycle: Prospect, qualify, shape the solution with delivery, negotiate, and close net-new business;
Win new logos and establish the foundation to expand the strategic accounts you win;
Lead commercial strategy for SOWs, master services agreements (MSAs), pricing, and contracts;
Run RFI/RFP responses and tailored proposals in tight collaboration with engineering and delivery teams;
Build and manage a healthy pipeline with highly accurate forecasting in Salesforce;
Partner with marketing on targeted Account-Based Marketing (ABM) campaigns and regional events;
Represent Coherent at major industry events and face-to-face client meetings;
What
We’re
Looking For
6+ years of selling custom software engineering, digital product services, or IT consulting;
A proven track record of hunting and winning new enterprise clients with multi-year, multi-discipline services engagements;
Comfort selling to C-suite and VP buyers, with the ability to confidently articulate how modern AI-driven development models accelerate time-to-market;
Deep working knowledge of the SDLC, global distributed delivery models, and agile consulting;
Experience working with distributed global delivery teams (specifically leveraging talent pools in Europe and Latin America);
Stability matters to us. Enterprise services relationships take years to build, and we want the same commitment from our people. A history of multi-year tenures will carry significantly more weight than a long list of short-term logos;
Minnesota preferred; WI, IL, or East Coast considered;
What Do We Offer
Base salary from $130K to $165K plus uncapped commission and performance bonuses
;
Performance-based equity awards;
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance;
401(k) matching and generous PTO policy;
Travel: Approximately 20-30% for strategic client meetings, industry conferences, and internal executive planning.

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level and live longer through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.
We are seeking an Associate Director, Core Algorithms (Cloud) to lead the teams responsible for WHOOP's cloud-based algorithmic intelligence — the models and systems that transform physiological data into the sleep, recovery, and training insights our members rely on daily. This role is also responsible for ensuring our cloud algorithms evolve alongside WHOOP hardware, partnering with Sensor Intelligence and Hardware teams to translate new sensor capabilities into production-grade algorithmic experiences.
You will own the technical vision, execution, and organizational health of this team. You'll drive the evolution of our core production algorithms such as workout detection, strain, and sleep staging toward higher accuracy, better member experiences, and more mature development practices. You will partner closely with ML Platform, Sensor Intelligence, Research, Product, and Software Engineering to define what WHOOP algorithms can enable — not just how they perform technically, but how they show up for members.
This is a role for someone who has built and shipped physiological ML at scale in a consumer product, who has a deep product instinct for what algorithms mean to end users, and who knows how to elevate an ML organization's practices: raising the bar on tooling, processes, and standards to match the ambition of the work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the cloud ML team responsible for the algorithms powering sleep, recovery, and training
- Directly manage applied ML scientists and ML engineers; provide coaching, career development, and performance feedback that grows individual contributors into strong technical leaders
- Ensure the technical quality bar for algorithm development is maintained by establishing the processes, reviews, and standards that guarantee rigor from research through deployment, and diving into designs and architectural decisions where necessary
- Help drive the vision for what WHOOP algorithms and next-generation sensors can enable; advocate for member experience and push the boundaries of what our data makes possible
- Ensure cloud algorithms remain compatible with future hardware generations; partner with Sensor Intelligence and Hardware to evolve proof-of-concept algorithms that leverage new sensor capabilities and bring them to production readiness
- Establish and improve development lifecycle practices: experiment management, model validation, deployment pipelines, and production monitoring
- Partner with ML Platform / MLOps to define requirements and drive maturity improvements across experiment tracking, model monitoring, deployment automation, and observability
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Sensor Intelligence, Product, Software Engineering, and Research teams
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in machine learning or applied data science, with hands-on experience developing and shipping ML models for a consumer product
- 4+ years of people leadership experience directly managing machine learning scientists/engineers, with demonstrated growth of team members and a track record of building high-performing teams
- Experience scaling a production ML organization: growing teams and leaders, identifying gaps in the development lifecycle, and driving improvements that increase velocity, reliability, and rigor
- Deep product sense: ability to think about algorithms from the member's perspective, drive the vision for what algorithms can enable, and ensure the team is building toward meaningful user outcomes
- Ability to evaluate technical designs, guide architectural decisions, and ensure quality at the system level, without needing to write code day-to-day
- Experience defining and driving cross-functional programs with engineering, product, and science partners
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex ML concepts to diverse audiences including product, engineering, and executive stakeholders
PREFERRED
- Experience building algorithms using physiological or wearable sensor data (e.g., PPG, accelerometer, temperature, bioimpedance)
- Experience managing through hardware-coupled development timelines where sensor availability and device generations constrain algorithm roadmaps
- Familiarity with time-series modeling, sequential data, and the specific challenges of continuous physiological monitoring
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
Interested in the role, but don’t meet every qualification? We encourage you to still apply! At WHOOP, we believe there is much more to a candidate than what is written on paper, and we value character as much as experience. As we continue to build a diverse and inclusive environment, we encourage anyone who is interested in this role to apply.
WHOOP is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-verify https://www.e-verify.gov/ to determine employment eligibility. It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000-$245,000 Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
ABOUT THE RETAIL TEAM
- Sierra is partnering with a large and growing number of retailers - spanning apparel and beauty, grocery and big-box, home and auto, consumer services, marketplaces, and consumer technology. Our agents help millions of shoppers and members every day: tracking and returning orders, finding the right product, booking services, and resolving issues in each brand’s own voice.
- Retail is also where AI agents go beyond support to generate revenue. From product discovery and personalized recommendations to cart recovery, win-back campaigns, and in-store support that turns unanswered store calls into visits and sales, our team is redefining what an agent can do for a brand’s top line - not just its cost line.
- Join us to transform how the world’s most-loved consumer brands engage their customers - and help build technology that makes shopping more personal, effortless, and delightful for everyone.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Independently drive complex enterprise deals end-to-end: Manage a broad enterprise book with strong autonomy, leading 6- and 7-figure deal cycles from prospecting to close.
- Multi-thread to the C-suite: Lead VP-level conversations, build durable C-suite relationships across customer orgs, and earn credibility quickly with new stakeholders.
- Manage risk proactively: Identify and manage deal risk early; build rigorous stakeholder maps for your accounts.
- Make the hard calls: Partner with your manager (and, at the senior level, operate more independently) on pricing, escalation timing, exec alignment, and deal strategy — coming to the table with a point of view, not just a problem.
- Leverage leadership & co-founders: Bring in Sierra's co-founders effectively for exec engagement when it moves a deal.
- Raise the bar: Act as a visible, steady leader on deal teams; proactively elevate the team's standard without being asked.
- Operate as an AI-native seller: Leverage AI tools across the full sales cycle- account research, personalized outreach, call summarization, pipeline forecasting, and deal execution- to automate low-value tasks and reinvest that time into high-value customer relationships, while continuously adopting and experimenting with new tools to work faster and smarter than traditional methods allow.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 8- 10 years of enterprise customer-facing sales experience, identifying and closing large accounts.
- Experience managing a $1M+ quota and running end-to-end complex 6- and 7-figure ACV deals.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication.
- Analytical mindset - you analyze market trends, spot opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.
EVEN BETTER...
- Familiarity with the AI landscape, key players, and emerging trends.
OUR VALUES

- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
