An overview of this role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, Performance Enablement, you'll make performance testing and analysis easier for engineering teams to adopt and own. You'll build platforms, tooling, guidance, and artificial intelligence-assisted workflows that help teams identify performance risks during development and before they roll changes out to production.
We're moving from a hands-on consulting model to a self-service model. Service teams own their performance tests, analysis, thresholds, and evidence. We provide the paved road, documentation, skills, and expert support for challenging problems and new capabilities.
This is a backend and platform engineering role with room to grow in scope and influence. You'll help shape how Performance Enablement supports engineering teams, using artificial intelligence thoughtfully to accelerate design, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and automation.
You'll support work such as:
Enabling modular feature teams, including Orbit and Artifact Registry, to run performance testing through their own development and continuous integration workflows
Building reusable performance tooling, including component-level testing, load testing, performance analysis, and artificial intelligence-assisted engineering skills
Improving performance results, reporting, and trend visibility so teams can make informed decisions from their own evidence
Establishing the documentation, templates, and guidance needed to expand self-service adoption across research and development
What you’ll do
Build and evolve reusable backend platforms and tooling for performance testing and analysis.
Create self-service workflows, documentation, templates, diagnostics, and artificial intelligence skills that reduce the need for bespoke support.
Use development practices that apply artificial intelligence to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, and technical documentation.
Influence engineering teams to make performance testing part of normal development and release preparation.
Turn early hands-on engagements into generalized capabilities that many teams can adopt independently.
Provide technical expertise for difficult performance questions, tooling enhancements, and new platform capabilities.
What you’ll bring
Experience building backend or platform software.
Experience building internal platforms or developer-facing tooling.
Experience partnering with development teams to improve their day-to-day workflows.
Experience using development practices that apply artificial intelligence across the software lifecycle.
Experience with software performance, such as performance analysis, optimization, benchmarking, or leading performance-related improvements.
Practical experience with Kubernetes, k6, and Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or similar cloud infrastructure.
Experience building durable solutions that support broad adoption using systems thinking.
Communicate clearly in writing and influence teams without direct authority.
About the team
Performance Enablement is part of Platform Enablement within Developer Experience and Infrastructure Platforms. We help GitLab teams make performance part of the software lifecycle.
Our goal is to make performance a shared responsibility of service-owning teams while providing a strong platform and center of expertise when teams need help. We work asynchronously, collaborate broadly across research and development, and focus on building capabilities that scale beyond individual team engagements.

About the company
Hi, we're Ondo Finance. Our mission is to provide institutional-grade, blockchain-enabled investment products and services. We have both a technology arm that develops decentralized finance technology, and an asset management arm that creates and manages tokenized funds. We are the global leader in tokenized treasuries, tokenized stocks and ETFs, and are building the future of institutional-grade financial services onchain.
Founded by folks from Goldman Sachs Digital Assets Team, we’re backed by some of the best investors in the world including Founders Fund, Coinbase Ventures, Pantera Capital, Tiger Global, and more. We are currently the leaders in the space in terms of AUM and are well capitalized to continue growing the firm. We're fully remote, with team members across the U.S.
About the role
Ondo operates real-time trading systems that run around the clock across traditional and crypto venues. The platform spans low-latency Rust engines, a fleet of Go services for trading, execution, and PnL accounting, and a multi-region Kubernetes footprint on AWS.
We are looking for an SRE with strong systems programming skills to own the reliability, observability, and performance of this platform. This is a hands-on role: you will read and modify Go and Rust code, debug latency regressions down to the feed handler, run incident response during market hours, and build the automation that keeps a 24/7 trading system healthy with a small team.
Target outcomes
Own production reliability for real-time trading services: trading engines, execution gateways, market data ingestion, and PnL/reconciliation pipelines
Operate and evolve our multi-region Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS), deployed via GitOps (Flux) with SOPS-encrypted secrets
Build and refine observability: Prometheus metrics and alerting, Datadog logs and dashboards, and the SLOs that catch degradation before it costs money
Improve deploy safety: progressive rollouts, config-reload behavior, and guardrails that prevent a bad push from touching live trading
Responsibilities
Debug production incidents end to end: stale market data feeds, exchange rate limits, WebSocket disconnects, order-lifecycle desyncs, and latency regressions in the trading path
Harden market data ingestion from providers such as Databento and venue-native feeds (REST and WebSocket), including staleness detection, failover, and replay
Build reconciliation and data-integrity tooling across live gauges, Postgres, and our S3 parquet data lake, so positions, fills, and PnL always agree
Participate in an on-call rotation covering US equity market hours and 24/7 crypto venues
Requirements
5+ years in SRE, production engineering, or infrastructure roles, with meaningful time supporting real-time or latency-sensitive systems
Strong programming ability in Go or Rust, and willingness to work in both; this role changes application code, not just infrastructure
Deep, hands-on Kubernetes and AWS experience: you have run stateful, latency-sensitive workloads in production, not just stateless web services
Strong observability instincts: fluent PromQL, structured-log analysis, and experience designing alerts with high signal and low noise
Solid Linux internals and networking fundamentals: you can chase a p99 regression through the kernel, the NIC, or the GC
Sound judgment under pressure and clear written communication during and after incidents
Nice to haves
Experience operating trading systems, execution infrastructure, or market data infrastructure at a trading firm, exchange, or broker
Familiarity with market microstructure and order lifecycle (order books, order types, fills and reconciliation)
Experience with market data providers and protocols (Databento, SIP/prop equity feeds, venue WebSocket APIs)
Exposure to crypto venues and on-chain trading
Python for operational tooling and data analysis (pandas, parquet, BigQuery)
Experience with GitOps workflows, infrastructure as code, and secrets management at scale
Tech stack
Go, Rust, Python | Kubernetes (EKS), Flux, SOPS | AWS (multi-region), S3 parquet lake | Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog | Postgres, CockroachDB, BigQuery | Databento, venue WebSocket/REST feeds

Our Global Structure
Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team.
The Team
The UAE is one of our fastest-growing and most exciting markets. As Deliveroo continues to expand, we become a major revenue channel for partners across restaurant, grocery, and retail - aside from providing the best support, we are consultants that use data-driven insight and industry knowledge to help our partners grow in their industry. Our Account Management team oversees partner relationships - they are a passionate, dynamic group of team players that work well together and cross-functionally with other departments, and of course, they're fun.
We are looking for a Retail Account Manager to join our UAE New Verticals Team. This is a great opportunity to become a critical member in one of the fastest-growing divisions at Deliveroo and drive impact across our most exciting vertical. 'Deliveroo Shopping' (Retail) covers a wide range of categories from gifts, electronics, beauty, and stationery to pet accessories.
The Role
In this role, you will manage relationships with a number of our top National and SMB Retail/Non-food partners across a small variety of categories. You will be responsible for onboarding, maintaining, and growing the partnerships as well as being the day-to-day contact between partners and Deliveroo, communicating their needs to internal teams. You will be helping new partners to launch and succeed on the platform and grow existing business on the Deliveroo platform, developing the ‘best in class’ value proposition for our customers within a new and exciting area of our business.
What You’ll Be Doing
Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
Manage the relationship of our top Retail/Non-food partners, becoming the expert in this space as we scale
Driving partner performance by owning your portfolio’s business growth through proactive reporting, weekly/monthly/quarterly meetings and reviews, analysis, improvement projects, and identifying growth opportunities. You will work with both internal and external stakeholders to drive change and devise solutions to ensure issues are addressed and your accounts continue to grow.
Managing marketing and promotional planning for our Retail/Non-Food partners as they scale on the platform.
Ensuring that we are developing an ongoing attractive value proposition for customers, including selection, promotions, pricing, and service levels.
Working closely with compliance, legal, and operations to ensure best practices
Owning the execution of site roll-outs as we scale the proposition, mapping our gaps in coverage for partner expansion
Representing Deliveroo across your partner’s organisation, and ensuring that our internal stakeholders are supporting where appropriate.
What You'll Need To Thrive
Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:
3-4 years of experience in an account management, business development/new business, or commercial role.
Experience in working within the Retail and/or Pharmacy industry is required
Experienced negotiator with the ability to drive mutual value for both partners and Deliveroo
Partner obsessed, with effective relationship building, organisation, and communication skills, whether face to face, through video, phone, or email.
Confident working with and analysing data - able to cut through the noise to understand what performance improvements will help grow your Retail partners, in order to make clear and actionable recommendations.
Able to create ideas and strategies to drive the growth of our joint business with our partners, with a willingness to trial at pace.
Collaborative team player who is able to get the best out of the people around you. Able to work effectively with all levels of Deliveroo.
Experience working in a dynamic, high-growth company is preferable
