About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is an AI safety and research company working to build reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our customers and society as a whole. As an Enforcement Analyst focused on Agentic Alignment, you will play a crucial role in identifying and investigating harmful and unexpected behavior by models, and make enforcement decisions accordingly. You'll work closely with a suite of cross-functional teams, within and outside of Safeguards, including: Policy, Threat Intel, Engineering, Research, and Transparency. Your work will be essential in maintaining Anthropic's commitment to safe and beneficial AI as Claude takes on more autonomous work.
Important context for this role: In this position you may be exposed to and engage with explicit content spanning a range of topics, including those of a sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing nature. There is also an on-call responsibility across the Policy and Enforcement teams.
Key responsibilities
Review and investigate potential instances of Agentic Misalignment, working from transcripts, tool-use traces, and code
Triage cases by severity and urgency and share through the appropriate channels
Help operationalize review pipelines for agentic cases, translating leads from detection outputs and investigations into structured review workflows that scale
Make enforcement decisions under the Usage Policy, applying it consistently to novel agentic scenarios and across surfaces, and documenting the reasoning behind each decision
Assess cyber-related agentic activity, such as scanning, exploitation attempts, credential misuse or malicious code to determine its real-world harm potential
Write clear, well-evidenced case write-ups for audiences ranging from enforcement peers to senior leadership
Identify patterns and trends across cases, and close the loop between enforcement outcomes and upstream improvements by feeding findings back to policy, detection and research teams to improve policies, classifiers and model behavior
Maintain rigorous documentation of enforcement decisions, review logic and precedents to build institutional knowledge
Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Research, Engineering and Policy partners so that detection coverage keeps pace with how agentic misuse and misaligned behavior evolve
Use AI systems, including Claude, to accelerate your own investigations: summarizing long transcripts, analyzing code, querying data and building lightweight tooling
Contribute to regular reports on agentic harm trends and enforcement outcomes
Minimum qualifications
Can read and understand code (for example Python, JavaScript or shell scripts) well enough to follow what happened and why it matters
Have a background in security, cyber threat intelligence, or a similar technical field that lets you understand how cyber harm happens and judge its severity
Have experience in trust and safety, enforcement, investigations or a related field, translating ambiguous policy questions and facts into defensible enforcement decisions and clear written findings
Have conducted structured investigations, building a case from first signal to final finding and knowing when the evidence is strong enough to act on
Have supported or contributed to formal enforcement actions, including case documentation, evidence packaging and escalation coordination
Write clearly and concisely, and can present complex findings to stakeholders across Legal, Policy and Engineering, including non-technical audiences
Have sound judgment about when a case needs escalation, and the resilience to work with difficult content
Preferred qualifications
Have demonstrated use of AI systems to accelerate your own work, and are excited to keep finding new ways to do so
Are comfortable working with large volumes of data, from long transcripts, logs and traces to complex, multi-table datasets, and surfacing the behavioral patterns that matter
Are curious about how AI agents behave, and enjoy investigating behavior no one has categorized before, building approaches where established playbooks don’t exist
Have familiarity with AI safety and alignment, and current debates about the risks of increasingly autonomous AI systems

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Who We Are
We come for the impact, and stay for the culture! We’re a talented, opinionated, passionate, fiercely inclusive, and responsible group of bees. We have conviction and we strive to live
our values
every day. We want our people to do what they truly love amongst a team of highly talented (but humble) peers.
How We Work
We are a fully distributed company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1. #LI-Remote
Little more about the team:
You'll be the product manager for our Canvas and Agentic AI teams - the teams building Honeycomb's AI-powered investigation experience. Canvas lets engineers use natural language to query, visualize, and understand their production systems. We're pushing well past chat: we're building Skills (pre-configured workflows that encode domain expertise into repeatable, executable actions), Auto-Investigations (agent-driven investigations that kick off before a human gets paged), and a rearchitected Canvas that's both interactive and collaborative.
You'll work in a tight triad with engineering and design leads, owning the roadmap for how AI shows up in Honeycomb, from the product UI to our MCP server. You'll partner with our Director of AI Strategy, Research & Development teams, and our customer-facing teams to stay grounded in what customers actually need while pushing toward something meaningfully different from what exists today.
This is a role for someone who can hold both execution and ambiguity: shipping production features while navigating a product space where the right answers are still emerging.
What you’ll do in the role:
Define AI product strategy in service of Honeycomb's vision
Synthesize AI trends, customer needs, and technical capabilities into clear strategic recommendations
Help the product organization understand where and how AI creates genuine customer value vs. where it's hype
Identify emerging observability challenges created by AI adoption (e.g., LLM drift, prompt regression, low-context generated code)
Make informed bets about which AI technologies and approaches warrant investment
Conduct research that bridges technology and customer reality
Build deep understanding of how customers are adopting AI in their engineering workflows
Identify patterns across customer conversations that signal future market needs
Stay current with AI/ML developments (RAG, fine-tuning, agentic systems, etc.) and translate implications for observability
Engage with technical communities, researchers, and early adopters to spot trends before they go mainstream
Enable AI innovation across the product portfolio
Partner with product teams to identify high-value opportunities to leverage AI capabilities
Provide guidance on AI approaches, trade-offs, and best practices without centralizing all decisions
Help teams understand how their work fits into our broader AI strategy and how to leverage shared capabilities
Synthesize cross-portfolio learnings and socialize what's working (and what isn't)
Evangelize the AI-observability connection
Articulate Honeycomb's point of view on AI observability both internally and externally
Help customers understand how observability needs evolve as they adopt AI
Contribute to thought leadership through writing, speaking, and community engagement
Build credibility with technical audiences who care deeply about how we use AI, not just that we use it
What you’ll bring to the role:
Proven AI product experience
5+ years in product management with at least 1+ year shipping AI/ML-powered products
Track record of taking AI features from concept to customer impact, including things that didn't work
Deep understanding of how engineering teams actually build, deploy, and operate AI systems (not just theoretical knowledge)
Familiarity with current AI/ML techniques and the judgment to know when they're applicable vs. overhyped
Strategic thinking with customer empathy
Ability to synthesize disparate signals (research, customer feedback, technical trends) into coherent strategy
Comfort operating with ambiguity and making decisions without perfect information
Pattern recognition across conversations—spotting what customers aren't yet saying clearly
Strong judgment about when to say "no" or "not yet" despite exciting technology
Technical credibility without needing to be the expert
Enough technical depth to have earned respect from engineers and architects
Genuine curiosity about how things work, paired with humility about what you don't know
Ability to evaluate trade-offs between different AI approaches (RAG vs. fine-tuning, model selection, etc.)
Understanding of observability principles and why they matter in production systems
Communication and collaboration skills
Excellent written and verbal communication—can explain complex ideas clearly to varied audiences
Ability to influence without authority across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams
Comfort presenting to customers, executives, and technical audiences
Collaborative mindset that elevates others' work rather than centralizing control
Curiosity and learning orientation
Demonstrated ability to stay current in fast-moving domains (AI is evolving weekly, not yearly)
Intellectual humility—you're more interested in learning than being right
Excitement about the intersection of AI technology and real customer problems
Energized rather than exhausted by the pace of change in AI
Base Salary based on level of experience
$272,739
—
$320,829 CAD
What you'll get when you join the Hive:
A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program
It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience
Time to recharge with unlimited PTO
A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!)
Home office, co-working, and internet stipend
Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents
Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, regardless of path to parenthood
Annual development allowance
And much more...

Run post-incident reviews, assign action items to named owners, and track them through closure
Oversee the on-call queue during your rotation as the first responder for urgent requests and escalations to Safeguards Enforcement
Triage each request, resolve what you can, route the rest to the owning team, and recognize when a request is the start of an incident
Take part in after-hours and weekend incident coverage on a rotating basis
Scope and deliver projects that improve the incident response program, such as on-call automation, incident readiness, and post-incident reviews and metrics
Draft and maintain runbooks and standard operating procedures
Work with Safeguards engineers to automate or reroute requests by writing the decision rules and testing the result
Maintain the incident record and the metrics that show leadership how the program is performing
Minimum qualifications
Experience running incidents or urgent escalations from start to finish in trust and safety, security, platform integrity, crisis management, or a comparable field, and readiness to lead high-severity incidents with support
Hands-on experience with incidents where someone was abusing or misusing a product or platform, such as account compromise, fraud, or coordinated malicious activity
Ability to make clear decisions under time pressure, record your reasoning, and recognize when a decision belongs to Legal, Policy, or leadership
Ability to write short, accurate updates that an executive can act on and that hold up to legal and external scrutiny
Experience coordinating people across many functions who do not report to you, securing their commitments, and following through on them
Experience improving an operational process on your own initiative, and the ability to tell which steps need a person and which can be automated
Willingness to do hands-on queue work as a regular part of the job, and to treat it as a source of information about what is breaking
Ability to participate in after-hours and weekend incident coverage on a rotating basis
Preferred qualifications

Use LLMs and other AI-assisted techniques to generate, expand, and maintain high-value test cases for ML-powered workflows.
Design scenario-based test suites for AI features, including adversarial prompts, edge cases, ambiguous inputs, and underrepresented user scenarios.
Lead QE efforts for multi-functional projects, driving risk assessment, dependency management, and release readiness.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for backend services, APIs, and ML inference systems using Python and/or Java.
Build automated validation for ML and LLM outputs, including ranking behavior, score distributions, prompt/response quality, hallucination indicators, and probabilistic model evaluation.
Debug test failures, service anomalies, model inconsistencies, and AI behavior regressions to identify root causes and drive resolution.

Improve automation reliability, reduce flakiness, and optimize execution efficiency.
Partner with engineering and ML teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.

Experience using LLMs to generate, transform, and prioritize test cases for AI-powered experiences.
Experience with AI evaluation tooling, prompt evaluation frameworks, model monitoring, or human-in-the-loop review workflows.
Strong experience testing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.
Proficiency in Python, Java, JS or similar languages for automation development.
Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as pytest, JUnit, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
Experience with CI/CD systems and test pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
Experience with cloud and container technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker).
Familiarity with databases, monitoring, and observability tools.
Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and release processes.
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
Experience validating ML outputs using statistical analysis or scenario-based testing approaches.
Familiarity with ML infrastructure, data pipelines, or model-serving platforms (Seldon, KServe, Ray Serve, etc.).
Prior work in content moderation ML, security, fraud detection, or adversarial ML.
Experience testing high-scale, low-latency online services.
Experience with Databricks or similar ML platform tooling.
Familiarity with Node.js, React, or modern frontend technologies.
Experience testing mobile, console, or other non-PC platforms.
What sets you apart
Strong combination of automation engineering and delivery ownership.
Ability to drive quality across complex cross-functional initiatives.
Practical understanding of how to test non-deterministic AI systems and separate model variance from quality regressions.
Proven risk management and dependency coordination skills.
Ability to influence engineering teams and promote quality guidelines.
Passion for scalable, reliable, and maintainable automation systems.
