ABOUT US
Launched in 2019, Constructor is an AI-first ecommerce search and discovery platform that helps shoppers find the right products at the right time and enables leading global e-commerce brands to drive meaningful revenue and conversion gains.
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in the Search Quality team, you will improve the e-commerce experience for hundreds of millions of users across the world by building the systems that power relevance for global retailers - from fashion and grocery to electronics and hardware.
The mission is to measure search quality, push it higher, and catch degradations before the user does. You will achieve this through a blend of fine-tuned LLMs for relevance judgment, real-time models, and deep offline analysis of query logs.
ABOUT THE JOB
Your primary focus will be relevance evaluation and quality improvements:
- LLM-based evaluation. We fine-tune our own models to assess relevance. This involves teaching the model to understand query intent, represent items from messy catalog data, and align model judgments with real user behavior.
- Real-time quality in production. Reranking, filtering, signal computation. Latency is a strict requirement, so quality vs speed tradeoff is constant.
- Automated quality monitoring and agentic insights. Pipelines to detect degradations and find underperforming patterns. Agent-based systems that generate actionable recommendations for the product data and search configurations.
WHAT MAKES THIS INTERESTING
- Multi-domain, multi-language, at scale - 40+ languages, 20+ domains. The models need to generalize across all of them - without per-customer rules or overrides.
- No universal ground truth. A grocery retailer and a fashion retailer may have different perceptions on what "relevant" means.
- Efficiency at scale. Optimizing and scaling LLM inference across our entire customer base.
REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years shipping production ML systems
- Experience with search, information retrieval, or recommendation systems
- Hands-on experience with fine-tuning, evaluation frameworks, and scaling LLM deployments
- Strong Python and PyTorch. Fluency in SQL and data orchestration tools (Spark, Airflow)
- Experience designing and running A/B tests to validate model impact
- Excellent English communication skills
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams (ranking, product, data engineering)
BENEFITS
- 🧠 Work with smart and empathetic people who will help you grow and make a meaningful impact.
- 🎉 Regular team offsite events to connect and collaborate.
- 🌎 Fully remote team - choose where you live.
- 🏝️ Unlimited vacation time - we strongly encourage all of our employees take at least 3 weeks per year.
- 🛋️ Work from home stipend! We want you to have the resources you need to set up your home office.
- 💻 Apple laptops provided for new employees.
- 🧑🎓 Training and development budget for every employee, refreshed each year.
- 👪 Maternity & Paternity leave for qualified employees.
- 💵 Base salary: $80k–$120K USD, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and interview results
- 📈 Stock options - offered in addition to the base salary

ABOUT US
Constructor is the next-generation platform for search and discovery in ecommerce, built to explicitly optimize for metrics like revenue, conversion rate, and profit. Our search engine is entirely invented in-house utilizing transformers and generative LLMs, and we use its core and personalization capabilities to power everything from search itself to recommendations to shopping agents. Engineering is by far our largest department, and we’ve built our proprietary engine to be the best on the market, having never lost an A/B test to a competitive technology. We’re passionate about maintaining this and work on the bleeding edge of AI to do so.
Out of necessity, our engine is built for extreme scale and powers over 1 billion queries every day across 150 languages and roughly 100 countries. It is used by some of the biggest ecommerce companies in the world like Sephora, Under Armour, and Petco.
We’re a passionate team who love solving problems and want to make our customers’ and coworkers’ lives better. We value empathy, openness, curiosity, continuous improvement, and are excited by metrics that matter. We believe that empowering everyone in a company to do what they do best can lead to great things.
Constructor is a U.S. based company that has been in the market since 2019. It was founded by Eli Finkelshteyn and Dan McCormick who still lead the company today.
ABOUT YOU
You're a product designer who owns problems, not screens. You're comfortable with ambiguity, can partner with PMs to shape direction, and know how to translate research insights into production-ready interfaces, working closely with engineers. You ship work that matters.
THE TEAM
Our AI Agent Tools team is building a new category of e-commerce experience: intelligent agents that guide shoppers, learn from merchandiser expertise, and drive real business outcomes. This is one of the most consequential design problems in retail right now, and it's wide open.
REQUIREMENTS
The Role
You'll be designing the future of product discovery: the moment a shopper goes from intent to purchase, reimagined through AI.
- You'll define what agentic shopping looks like — Not just chatbots bolted onto search, but genuinely new interaction patterns where AI understands what a shopper wants and helps them get there. There's no established playbook here. The patterns you set will shape how the rest of the industry approaches it.
- You'll shape how merchandisers control it — You will collaborate with Agent Orchestrators—professionals blending data analysis, design, and shopper psychology—to design the dashboard tools that allow them to configure, train, and optimize new shopping journeys without engineering support.
- You'll prove it works in the real world — From running UI experiments on live retailer sites to validating new shopping experiences with actual shopper data, your designs ship and get measured.
What You'll Own
- Research & validation — Conducting shopper research and running experiments alongside product and data teams to validate hypotheses with real input.
- Interaction design for agentic experiences — Mapping novel user flows where AI/LLMs drive the shopping journey, for both shoppers and the merchandisers who orchestrate them.
- Visual strategy — Defining a bold design direction that represents what product discovery looks like in 2027.
- High-fidelity delivery — Producing final mockups and assets across key surfaces: homepage, search, PDP, filtering, guided shopping, and agent configuration.
- UX patterns — Ensuring designs scale within Constructor's evolving design system and component library.
What We Value Beyond Craft
Beyond being a thoughtful designer, user advocate, and strong collaborator, here are a few things we really value:
- A goal-oriented, iterative mindset — You focus on solving high-impact problems and are comfortable learning, improving, and shipping quickly.
- Practical experience with research — You’ve led user interviews, usability tests, and data analysis.
- Experience designing for unfamiliar problems — You’ve worked on products where you had to understand complex workflows outside your own experience—especially in B2B contexts.
- Systems thinking — You spot patterns, define systems, and design scalable, reusable solutions.
- 📈 Stock options - offered in addition to the base salary

Who We Are
At OKX, we believe that the future will be reshaped by crypto, and ultimately contribute to every individual's freedom. OKX is a leading crypto exchange, and the developer of OKX Wallet, giving millions access to crypto trading and decentralized crypto applications (dApps). OKX is also a trusted brand by hundreds of large institutions seeking access to crypto markets. We are safe and reliable, backed by our Proof of Reserves. Across our multiple offices globally, we are united by our core principles:
We Before Me
,
Do the Right Thing
, and
Get Things Done
. These shared values drive our culture, shape our processes, and foster a friendly, rewarding, and diverse environment for every OK-er. OKX is part of OKG, a group that brings the value of Blockchain to users around the world, through our leading products OKX, OKX Wallet, OKLink and more.
About the Opportunity
Lifecycle marketing at OKX is evolving. We're not looking for someone to run campaigns — we're looking for someone to fundamentally rethink how we engage traders across the US market on one of the world's leading crypto platforms.
This is a leadership role for a marketer who thinks in systems, not sends. Someone who is comfortable defining a US-market engagement strategy as well as getting into the work to make it happen. Reporting to the Global Head of Lifecycle Marketing, you'll help define the vision, strategy, and output of lifecycle marketing for the US. Your execution layer is AI agents, cross-functional partners, and co-operating with the broader Lifecycle marketing team. That means your ability to train, direct, brief and critique is as important as your ability to set direction.
If your default mode is execution and program management or pure strategy and handoff, this isn't the role for you. If your default mode is leading from the front, and you have the craft and judgment to shape the work through strategic problem-solving, AI-native thinking, and a relentless focus on what quality looks like to actually move users — read on.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lifecycle Strategy & Vision
Define how OKX engages US users from acquisition through activation, retention, and reactivation — across segments and products. You'll set the strategic framework for the US market, working in close alignment with the Global Head of Lifecycle to ensure regional strategy ladders into global priorities. This means deeply understanding US crypto user behavior, identifying the highest-leverage moments in the lifecycle, and building programs that compound over time.
AI-Native Ways of Working
You will lead by example in embedding AI into every layer of lifecycle marketing — from ideation and content development to segmentation, testing, and analysis. Critically, this includes building and training agentic AI workflows: multi-step, autonomous systems that execute lifecycle programs at scale. You'll know the outcomes of poorly trained agents. You won't just adopt AI tools; you'll help determine which ones we build, which we leverage for each task, and how we use them to raise the ceiling on what a lean, high-performing team can deliver.
Insight-Led Decision Making
You'll be the person in the room who can translate user behavior data into a point of view — and then into a program. You'll develop a deep understanding of our user segments, their motivations, and the signals that predict engagement, conversion, and churn. Reporting and dashboards are a starting point, not the destination.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Lifecycle doesn't work in isolation. You'll build genuine partnerships with Product, PMM, Data, BI, Design, Legal, and regional teams — not just as a stakeholder manager, but as a strategic voice in how OKX grows. You'll influence roadmaps, shape go-to-market planning, and ensure lifecycle has a seat at the table early.
What We Look For In You
Strategic instinct.
You've led lifecycle programs that were defined by a clear strategic thesis. You can articulate why a program is designed the way it is, what user problem it solves, and how it ladders to business outcomes.
Demonstrated AI fluency.
You actively use AI in your day-to-day work, including agentic tools and autonomous workflows. You've built or directed the development of AI-powered systems/processes and can speak specifically to how you've trained agents, trained co-workers to use them, where you've course-corrected poor outputs, and where AI genuinely creates leverage versus where it doesn't. Using AI chat tools is a baseline, not a differentiator.
A user behavior obsession.
You think about users before you think about channels. You can read engagement data and form a hypothesis. You know the difference between a segment and a persona, and you know how to use both.
Ability to execute with speed and excellence:
You can look at a lifecycle program, a campaign brief, a piece of copy, or a targeting strategy and know immediately what's working and what isn't — and articulate why. You can develop these yourself when needed. This isn't primarily an executional role, but you bring enough craft and hands-on judgment to direct AI agents and cross-functional partners with precision, and to close the gap between strategy and output without losing quality.
Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action.
OKX moves fast. The crypto landscape moves faster. You'll be expected to make smart decisions with incomplete information, move quickly, and refine as you go — not wait for perfect conditions.
Demonstrated leadership through strategic change.
You've been in situations where direction shifted — market conditions, business priorities, platform constraints — and you didn't just adapt, you led. You can point to specific moments where you reoriented a team or program mid-flight, held quality standards under pressure, and came out with momentum intact.
Global perspective, local instinct.
You've worked across multiple markets and understand that a single lifecycle strategy rarely fits all. You know how to build frameworks that scale globally while giving regional teams the flexibility to be relevant locally.
Nice to Haves
15+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or growth marketing in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated track record of building lifecycle strategies that drove measurable impact on activation, retention, or LTV — not just engagement metrics
Meaningful AI adoption in your own workflows — you should be able to speak specifically to how you use it and what it's changed
Experience with Marketing Automation tool roll outs is an advantage
Experience in crypto, fintech, or financial services strongly preferred
Familiarity with CeFi/DeFi and genuine curiosity about the crypto space
Strong communication skills — you can present a strategy to a CMO and a campaign brief to a designer with equal clarity
Perks &
Benefits
Competitive total compensation package
L&D programs and Education subsidy for employees' growth and development
Various team building programs and company events
Wellness and meal allowances
Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants
More that we love to tell you along the process!

An overview of this role
As an Senior AI Engineer at GitLab, you'll help build the foundation for GitLab's transformation into an AI-first company. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise AI, you'll be a hands-on technical leader responsible for delivering internal AI-powered solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
Building fast matters, but it's not enough on its own. This role starts with understanding the real problem: mapping how work moves across teams, tools, and handoffs, identifying the true constraint, and validating whether AI is the right solution before you begin development. From there, you'll take ownership from discovery through deployment, combining strong engineering skills with systems thinking and business understanding.
Your initial focus will span Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support, where you will embed AI solutions into key systems and workflows. This role offers the opportunity to shape how GitLab team members work, improve flow across the organization, and help advance our mission in a remote, asynchronous, and values-driven environment.
What you'll do
Diagnose business problems before building solutions. Map workflows, identify constraints, and confirm whether AI is the right intervention. Be prepared to say "this doesn't need AI" when that's the honest answer.
Own AI initiatives end-to-end, from stakeholder discovery and technical design through implementation, deployment, and iteration.
Design, develop, and ship AI-powered solutions quickly, delivering working prototypes in days, not months, with a focus on practical outcomes and measurable business value.
Improve organizational flow by building solutions that reduce bottlenecks, shorten lead times, and increase throughput. Measure success using flow metrics alongside adoption and ROI.
Integrate AI capabilities into existing systems and workflows using APIs, orchestration tools, and modern AI platforms, including GitLab Duo Agent Platform, where appropriate. The right tool wins, whether that's custom code, a platform, or a well-crafted prompt.
Be Customer Zero: leverage and showcase GitLab's AI offerings wherever possible, feeding real-world usage insights back to R&D.
Partner closely with stakeholders across functions to understand the real constraints. Ask the right questions, bridge technical and non-technical perspectives, and align on outcomes before jumping to solutions.
Define and track success through business metrics, flow metrics, and feedback loops that make performance visible and actionable.
Contribute to technical direction by evaluating tools, documenting patterns, and creating reusable foundations that help the team scale its impact.
What you'll bring
A Technologist at Heart -
Genuinely invested in technology, the foundational and the cutting-edge in equal measure. You're as energised by a well-designed API integration as you are by the latest foundation model release. You reach for the simplest solution that solves the problem well, rather than forcing new technology when proven approaches would do. AI is a powerful part of your toolkit, but it sits on top of solid engineering fundamentals, not in place of them.
Competent, Confident Coding Skills -
You can build working solutions end-to-end, write clean and maintainable code, and debug effectively. Whether your skills were honed in a traditional engineering role, through building automations, or shipping side projects, what matters is that you can deliver production-quality work independently.
AI
& LLM
Technical Depth -
Strong proficiency in at least one modern scripting language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar) and a solid understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and integration patterns. Deep, practical experience with modern AI technologies, specifically: Prompt engineering as a core discipline: designing effective system prompts, managing context windows, structuring multi-turn interactions, evaluating output quality, and iterating systematically on prompt design.
Model selection and cost-performance trade-offs:
understanding when a smaller fine-tuned model outperforms a general-purpose large one, when RAG is the right architecture versus expanding the context window, and how to make principled decisions about capability versus cost.
Agentic architecture patterns:
tool use, multi-agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop designs, guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and production-grade reliability patterns.Practical fluency across the LLM ecosystem: hands-on experience with models from Anthropic, OpenAI, open-source alternatives, and the judgment to know which to reach for and when.
AI Safety & Risk Awareness -
You think critically about how the solutions you build could be exploited, misused, or produce unintended consequences. You know how to design appropriate guardrails (input validation, output filtering, access controls, prompt injection defences, and data leakage prevention) and you treat these as first-class engineering concerns.
Systems Thinking & Diagnostic Rigour -
The ability to look at a complex process and see the constraint. Comfortable mapping how work flows end-to-end, identifying bottlenecks, and tracing problems to root causes before proposing solutions. You instinctively ask "what's actually blocking flow here?" before asking "what model should I use?"
Business System Expertise -
Familiarity with the landscape of enterprise business systems, CRM (Salesforce), marketing automation (Marketo), support platforms (Zendesk), integration and orchestration tools (Workato), AI platforms (Relevance AI), and enterprise search and knowledge tools (Glean). You don't need deep experience with all of these, but to understand what they do, how they fit together, and be willing to build with and across them. A strong understanding of enterprise data models and workflows is essential.
Broad Functional Understanding -
Ability to have meaningful conversations with stakeholders across diverse domains and quickly understand their unique needs.
End-to-End Ownership -
Track record of owning complex initiatives from discovery through delivery. Comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving to measurable outcomes independently.
Product Mindset -
Ability to scope MVPs, prioritise ruthlessly, and deliver iteratively. In addition, consider adoption, user experience, and business outcomes.
Preferred requirements
Experience with GitLab platform and CI/CD workflows
Background in consulting, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
Familiarity with value stream mapping, flow metrics, or Theory of Constraints thinking
Experience with low-code/no-code orchestration tools (n8n, Make, Workato) alongside custom development
Previous startup or high-growth company experience
Experience mentoring or leading technical projects with junior engineers
About the team
You will join the Enterprise Technology & AI team. We're the backbone of the organisation, driving transformation in how GitLab team members make decisions, operate at scale, and deliver results for our customers.
We believe the best AI solutions start with understanding the system, not the technology. We value people who think in constraints and flow, who build with conviction, and who never stop learning. We work in an all-remote, asynchronous setting, guided by GitLab's values of collaboration, results, efficiency, diversity, inclusion and belonging, iteration, and transparency.
