ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an Satellite Systems, Software Verification Team Lead to own the final verification of our satellites, the stage where an integrated spacecraft is proven to work.
Once a satellite has been integrated, your team takes over. You’ll lead satellite-level functional and end-to-end checkout, onboard software loading and validation, and RF testing in our anechoic chamber, with a team of 5 technicians across systems, software and RF.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll spend real time with your team at the satellite, troubleshooting, unblocking issues and improving how we test. ICEYE is scaling satellite production fast, so you’ll also build the processes, tools and KPIs that let verification keep pace without compromising quality.
We’re looking for a strong electronics engineer who is comfortable with software and enjoys leading people. Space experience is a plus, not a requirement. If you’ve led hands-on electronics testing in a demanding industry such as aerospace, defence, automotive or power electronics, we’ll help you learn the space-specific parts.
Who We Are
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading Satellite Verification
- Own satellite-level verification after integration: functional and end-to-end system checkout
- Prove that all onboard systems (power, avionics, software, RF) perform reliably in full configuration
- Be hands-on: lead troubleshooting, isolate faults, unblock issues and keep momentum
Owning Software in Verification
- Own onboard software loading, validation and checkout during production verification
- Maintain and improve test scripts, test automation and software-supported verification flows
- Work with AIT Engineering on software-related issues, telling software faults apart from hardware faults
Overseeing RF Testing
- Make sure RF testing of the satellite in the anechoic chamber is planned, executed and reported to standard, working with the RF specialists in your team
- Keep RF test benches and chamber setups maintained, calibrated and compliant
Quality, Traceability & Compliance
- Plan, execute and report system-level functional tests and inspections
- Maintain configuration control, build discipline and full traceability
- Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace quality standards such as ECSS
- Identify key non-conformances, escalate critical issues and drive resolution of the most impactful ones, supporting root cause analysis led by AIT Engineering
Building Scalable, Repeatable Processes
- Develop work instructions, test procedures and checklists with AIT Engineering and Quality
- Turn unclear inputs into clear, usable processes and reduce tribal knowledge
- Increase throughput and reduce rework while protecting quality
Leading & Developing the Team
- Lead, coach and grow a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians

Working Across Teams
- Be the bridge between verification and engineering (systems, software, RF, AIT)
- Collaborate with Quality, Planning, Supply Chain and the two other production teams (Integration/Mechanical & Thermal; Electronics)
- Prepare verification for higher volumes; define and track KPIs
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You don’t need to tick every box. If you have most of the must-haves and the role excites you, we’d like to hear from you.
Must-haves
- A degree in electronics, telecommunications or electrical engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Hands-on experience testing, validating or verifying complex electronic systems, at unit or system level
- Working software knowledge: scripting (ideally Python), loading and configuring software on hardware, version and configuration control
- Experience leading or coordinating a technical team in a hands-on environment
- Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings and test procedures
- Clear communication with engineers, technicians and stakeholders, in fluent English
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in space, aerospace, defence or another high-reliability industry
- RF test experience (spectrum or network analysers, signal generators, anechoic chambers)
- Familiarity with ECSS, NASA-STD or similar standards (such as DO-178C, ISO 26262 or EN 50128)
- Test automation frameworks (such as TestStand, LabVIEW or pytest)
- Experience scaling a test or production process
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Every satellite is verified reliably, predictably, and to standard before it ships
- RF, system, and software verification processes are clear, structured, and scalable
- Problems are isolated and solved at the root, not patched
- The team takes full ownership of verification quality and traceability
- Verification keeps pace with ICEYE's growth
WHY THIS ROLE IS INTERESTING
- You own the moment of truth, proving the satellite works end-to-end
- You'll bring RF, systems, and software verification together under one scope
- You'll shape how verification is done, not just follow existing processes
- You'll work at the intersection of engineering and production, where decisions have immediate impact
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Talent Acquisition Interview
- Hiring Manager General Interview
- Technical Interview, including a Technical Challenge
- Peer & Culture Interview
- VP Interview

About the Role
We're looking for a FinOps Data Engineer to help drive cost optimization and cloud financial governance across our AWS infrastructure and GCP footprint. You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Product to find and ship savings, build the tooling necessary to maximize efficiency of every dollar spent in the cloud, and cultivate a culture of cost awareness across engineering teams. This role owns the data side of that mission: the models, pipelines, and analysis that make cost, usage, and margin numbers trustworthy across the company.
This is a hands-on engineering role, not an analyst seat. You'll do the schlep work other teams don't have time for, digging into a bucket's access pattern, writing the dbt model or Python pipeline that ships the fix, building the cost-vs-revenue mart that answers a margin question once instead of every time, and chasing a number until it reconciles. Strong communication matters as much as technical depth, you'll regularly explain a savings case or a data model's implications to an engineering team, a finance stakeholder, and a leadership audience in the same week.
What You'll Be Responsible For
In this role, you'll:
- Find and ship savings across AWS and GCP: Analyze billing, usage, and cost trends to identify opportunities, rightsizing, storage lifecycle policies, data transfer, and spot/auto-scaling. Take ideas from identification through to a realized dollar figure, not just a recommendation.
- Build and maintain the FinOps data pipeline: Design and run the BigQuery/dbt models that turn raw billing and usage data (CUR, Storage Lens) into reconciled, trustworthy mart tables, the foundation everything else in FinOps is built on.
- Build cost-vs-revenue and customer segmentation models: Model unit economics and margin by product line and customer segment, and extend coverage as new products and segments come online.
- Apply data science to cost and usage data: Build forecasting models, detect anomalies statistically rather than by threshold alone, and quantify savings opportunities (e.g. storage lifecycle, request-cost patterns) with rigor a spreadsheet can't match.
- Build and maintain cost attribution: Tagging policies, cost allocation, and chargeback/showback so engineering teams can see and own their own spend. This is foundational work other savings work depends on.
- Automate cost governance: Build automated cost reporting, anomaly detection, and alerting. Write the scripts and infrastructure-as-code (Python, Terraform, Lambda) that enforce cost policy rather than relying on manual review.
- Partner with engineering on architecture decisions: Bring cost into the room early, cost-efficiencies are cheaper to get right at design than to retrofit.
- Work with Finance on forecasting and reporting: Support budget tracking and financial KPIs; build dashboards and self-serve analytics engineering and finance can both read.
You Might Be a Good Fit If You
- Have strong AWS expertise and working GCP knowledge, including pricing models, billing structures, and cost optimization mechanics.
- Have data engineering depth: dbt, BigQuery (or an equivalent modern warehouse), SQL at scale, and data modeling for analytics (dimensional modeling, incremental models, testing).
- Have data science fundamentals: statistical forecasting, anomaly detection, and experimentation, and know when a rigorous model beats a rule of thumb.
- Have automation and scripting skills: Python, Terraform/ pulumi, Lambda, or Bash.
- Are comfortable with cost/billing tooling: AWS Cost Explorer, Cost & Usage Reports, GCP Billing Reports, and BI/dashboarding (we use Hex).
- Have experience with, or are comfortable picking up, Linear and Notion as the system of record for tracking and documenting FinOps work.
- Experience with a dedicated cloud cost management platform (e.g. CloudZero, Vantage, or similar) is a plus, not required.
- Can analyze cost data and present it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Have prior experience spanning data analytics, data engineering, or data science in a FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud governance context.
- Are energized by doing the unglamorous, high-leverage work (the schlep) that unblocks other teams, and by working cross-functionally without positional authority.

In this role, you guide architecture and build initiatives across workstreams, working directly with senior technical and business stakeholders and owning outcomes that span an account's roadmap.
You don't need to have shipped agents to production. You do need deep experience building and operating production systems, hands-on time with agents, and the judgment to lead architecture and advisory work with enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
Own technical strategy for a key account or vertical, in partnership with account and product teams.
Guide technical architecture and design decisions across multiple concurrent workstreams.
Lead discovery and advisory engagements independently, shaping scope and technical strategy before a build starts.
Lead engagements delivered with partners, setting the architecture and the quality bar for work you don't build yourself.
Review designs and unblock other FDEs on hard technical calls.
Represent Anthropic to senior technical and business stakeholders, including VPs and C-level, to align on strategy and de-risk delivery.
Own your engagements end to end: scope the work, sequence it, unblock it, anticipate security and procurement gates, and deliver production systems the customer can operate.
Work within customer systems to build production applications and agent components with Claude, and hand over systems the customer can run.
Identify and codify repeatable deployment patterns and contribute insights back to our Product and Engineering teams.
Build long term relationships with customers and proactively identify new opportunities for AI deployment throughout the lifecycle of an engagement.
Travel frequently (25%) to customer sites to build in person with customers.
Be a champion for Anthropic's mission in the field.

Deep system design and problem decomposition skills: you can walk into a discovery conversation with only a business problem and leave with a defensible technical strategy for a secure, production-ready design inside a complex enterprise environment of legacy systems, with identity and access, and compliance requirements.
Experience in a senior technical, customer facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, or as a Tech Lead with consulting or product experience. Former technical founders are also encouraged to apply.
A track record as the person a team turns to on ambiguous technical calls, whether through architecture review, pairing, or informal mentorship.
A track record of directly influencing senior technical and business stakeholders, including VP and C-level, in complex organizations.
Extensive experience building and operating production systems. Hands-on experience with LLMs and agents is expected. Side projects and prototypes count.
Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python (and ideally in one or more additional languages like TypeScript, Java, etc), experience shipping production applications, and everyday use of AI coding tools with the judgment to review and steer.
Experience leading advisory and architecture-review engagements as well as hands-on builds, and running them end to end.
High agency with an ability to navigate ambiguity present in complex organizations, and the learning velocity to pick up new domains and tools fast.
Passion for advancing safe, beneficial AI systems through creative technical applications.
A background in financial services, healthcare/life sciences, or another enterprise vertical are nice to have.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
