WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is based in New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
This role sits on Notion’s Creative Studio, a small team of designers, illustrators, and filmmakers. Our work tells the story of our offering in a way that reflects the products themselves: smart, refined, and with a dash of wit on the side.
As a Brand Designer, you’ll work on high-impact brand initiatives and campaigns: setting direction from early strategy through final execution, partnering closely with stakeholders and executives, and raising the bar for craft and systems. You’ll be asked to define approaches, resolve ambiguity, and influence both project outcomes and how the team works.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- Concept, art direct and design high-visibility moments from brand campaigns, product launches, and events, developing approaches that can scale across a broad range of surfaces, moments, and channels.
- Contribute to our brand systems and develop standards and tooling that improve velocity and consistency for teammates near and far.
- Mentor and raise the bar for other designers and creative partners through feedback, critique, and patterns that make great work repeatable.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- 10+ years in an agency or in-house environment, with demonstrated leadership on ambiguous, complex, high-impact work.
- A strong portfolio of work that’s culturally resonant and visually diverse, and that showcases your ability to tell stories across many channels.
- A deep commitment to systems thinking, typographic excellence, and sensitivity to small details.
- Experience working with a broad range of makers. You’ve teamed up with illustrators, animators, copywriters, filmmakers, photographers, and beyond to bring your ideas to life.
- Excellent partnership skills. You can work hand-in-hand with cross-functional stakeholders, drive alignment, and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
- A tinkerer’s mindset. You're curious about how your tools are evolving and have a strong perspective on how AI can expand creative expression and drive production. You’ll actively experiment with new AI workflows to concept, prototype, and push our design systems further.
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 per year.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATIONS
We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every bullet, we still encourage you to apply. Notion is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
Anthropic’s Infrastructure organization is responsible for the systems that train our models, serve our products, and support our engineering teams. That includes datacenter operations, capacity planning across cloud providers and our own facilities, accelerator cluster management, production serving infrastructure, developer tooling, data pipelines, and networking. It’s a lot of surface area, and the demands on it are growing fast.
We’re hiring a TPM leader to own program management across this whole ecosystem from compute provisioning through to production workloads. We’re bringing up new datacenters, scaling multi-cloud compute across AWS, GCP, and Azure, managing datacenter construction, and building the software infrastructure to keep pace. The team is growing very quickly, and we’re looking for a senior leader with experience at scale to build and scale this team to support Anthropic’s rapid growth. You’ll report to the Head of TPM, partnering closely with various engineering leaders on technical strategy, roadmapping, and aligning TPM support where it is most impactful.
You’ll personally drive 2–3 critical programs while leading your teamin parallel. This is a role where you need to be comfortable doing the work yourself before you can hand it off.
What you'll do:
IC Program Leadership
Own and drive 2–3 of the highest-priority programs across infrastructure while you build the team
Run the actual programs—datacenter bring-up timelines, capacity scaling plans, infrastructure migrations, cross-team reliability efforts, or whatever the most pressing needs are
Build the processes and playbooks as you go—figure out what works by doing it, then codify it for the team
Earn credibility with engineering leads through solid execution, not just strategy
Team Building & Development
Set the standard for what good TPM work looks like in this domain through your own output
Coach and develop TPMs
Transition programs to your team as you hire
Grow the team with excellent TPMs by defining roles, writing JDs, sourcing candidates, and closing hires
Planning & Prioritization
Work with various engineering leads to identify work that would most benefit from TPM support
Make real tradeoffs about what to staff vs. what to skip given limited TPM capacity during the build phase
Maintain portfolio-level visibility across programs—status, risks, dependencies, blockers
Represent the team in planning cycles and leadership reviews
Cross-functional Coordination
Coordinate across Infrastructure and partner teams (Research, Product, Security, Finance, Legal) on programs that span organizational boundaries
Drive alignment on programs that cross the hardware/software line—e.g., capacity plans that feed into training schedules, or efficiency work that spans accelerator kernels and serving systems
Own executive communication on program status, risks, and resource needs
You May Be a Good Fit If You:
Have 10+ years of experience in technical program management, with 7+ years directly managing TPMs and ideally some experience leading larger TPM organizations
Have built a team or function from scratch before—you know the difference between hiring for a defined role vs. figuring out what the roles should be
Have scaled TPM teams to support rapidly-growing, fast-moving company environments
Have worked across physical and software infrastructure—datacenters, networking, hardware ops, distributed systems, cloud platforms, developer tooling. You don’t need to be deep in all of it, but you need to be conversant enough to ask the right questions and spot the real risks.
Have run large-scale compute or infrastructure programs—capacity planning, cluster deployments, datacenter build-outs, cloud migrations, or similar
Can communicate complex programs clearly to senior leadership without losing the important details
Are good at context-switching between doing the work and managing people, and don’t see the IC work as beneath you
Are comfortable making staffing and prioritization decisions without perfect information
Deadline to apply:
None, applications will be received on a rolling basis.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$365,000
—
$565,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.
To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit

directly for confirmed position openings.
How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT SENTRY
Software runs the world and the pace is faster than ever. Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice, so teams can spend less time firefighting and more time building.
Trusted by 200,000+ organizations, Sentry is today’s application monitoring standard and our team is building its AI-native future.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
At Sentry, Finance plays a critical role in helping the company understand where we're investing, what we're getting in return, and where we can operate more effectively.
We are looking for an FP&A Manager who will help build Sentry's FP&A function while focusing on establishing best-in-class FinOps practices. You'll partner across the business on forecasting and financial analysis, with a significant focus on cloud infrastructure, AI costs, vendor spend, and other areas where better financial visibility can translate directly into better decisions.
You will be expected to understand the economics behind our infrastructure, build the financial models and reporting needed to manage it, identify meaningful opportunities, and work with Engineering and other partners to turn those insights into action.
You'll also operate as a generalist FP&A partner and play an important role in building the processes, models, and operating rhythms that Finance will use as Sentry grows.
You will report to the Director of FP&A.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Own forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis for significant areas of Sentry's operations, with particular emphasis on cloud infrastructure, AI-related spend, software, vendors, and other major cost categories.
- Partner closely with Engineering and infrastructure leaders to understand the drivers of cloud and AI spend, translate technical consumption into financial forecasts, and identify opportunities to improve unit economics and gross margin.
- Develop reporting that makes cloud and infrastructure costs understandable and actionable, including trends, cost allocation, unit costs, utilization economics, commitments, and significant variances.
- Help evaluate cloud commitments, reserved capacity, vendor agreements, and other commercial decisions by modeling their financial implications and tradeoffs.
- Build and operate a scalable company-wide expense-management process that gives budget owners clear visibility into their spend, forecasts, and accountability.
- Partner with functional leaders on budgets, forecasts, business cases, and ongoing financial performance.
- Support monthly and quarterly reporting, including budget-to-actual analysis, variance explanations, forecast updates, and accrual inputs in partnership with Accounting.
- Support company-wide planning, headcount forecasting, management reporting, and other corporate FP&A work alongside the Director of FP&A.
- Develop models and analyses to answer important business questions, particularly around efficiency, cost structure, gross margin, and resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting, improve source data, and replace manual or fragmented finance processes with scalable ones.
- Work cross-functionally with Accounting, Engineering, Procurement and business leaders to ensure financial information leads to action rather than simply producing another report.
YOU'LL LOVE THIS ROLE IF YOU
- Are a self-starter who likes owning a problem from messy data through recommendation and implementation.
- Get genuinely interested in understanding why a cost moves rather than simply reporting that it moved.
- Enjoy working with technical partners and can translate infrastructure or product concepts into financial drivers.
- Like building processes, models, and reporting from scratch and making them simpler each time they run.
- Have strong financial instincts but aren't afraid to get into large or imperfect datasets to find the answer.
- Are comfortable moving between detailed cost analysis and broader company FP&A work.
- Know that good cost management is about helping teams make smarter tradeoffs—not simply telling them to spend less.
- Are comfortable with the pace, ambiguity, and ownership that comes with a growing company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, technology finance, or a related analytical finance role.
- Experience owning budgets, forecasts, budget-to-actual analysis, and financial partnership with business leaders.
- Demonstrated experience building or materially improving financial models, planning processes, cost-management processes, or business-partnering cadences.
- Experience analyzing cloud infrastructure, hosting, AI/LLM, or other usage-driven costs is strongly preferred. Direct FinOps experience is a plus but is not required.
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Experience with NetSuite and modern FP&A or spend-management platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with FinOps concepts including cost allocation, showback/chargeback, commitments, and cloud cost optimization is a plus; FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar training is welcome but not required.
- Strong communication and business-partnering skills, particularly the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance audiences and turn analysis into action.
Not sure you meet every qualification? We encourage you to apply anyway. We're interested in people who are excited about the opportunity, have demonstrated an ability to learn quickly, drive change, and want to help us build a great finance function.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AT SENTRY
Sentry is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to its employees and candidates for employment regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, veteran status, or other legally-protected characteristic. This commitment includes the provision of reasonable accommodations to employees and candidates for employment with physical or mental disabilities who require such accommodations in order to (a) perform the essential functions of their jobs, or (b) seek employment with Sentry. We strive to build a diverse team, with an inclusive culture where every teammate can thrive. Sentry is an open-source company because we believe that everyone, everywhere, should have the ability and tools to make great software. Software should be accessible. That starts with making our industry accessible.
If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, you may contact us at accommodations@sentry.io.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

Navigate complex commercial conversations — multi-stakeholder deals, evolving usage patterns, and competitive evaluations — in partnership with Applied AI and product teams
Serve as the voice of the customer by gathering feedback and conveying market needs to inform our product roadmap
Develop and execute account strategies that align Anthropic's solutions with customer business objectives
Proactively identify and mitigate retention and competitive risks while maintaining high customer satisfaction
Must Have Qualifications:
11+ years of experience in sales or account management roles, with a proven track record of growing large, complex accounts and exceeding retention and expansion targets
Success as a strategic business advisor to founders and executives, deeply understanding fast-scaling startup needs and creating solutions that align with their vision
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, working with technical stakeholders, and negotiating strategic deals
Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to build relationships across all customer levels, from ICs to founders and C-level executives
Analytical approach to understanding customer needs and usage combined with creative solutions to drive expansion
A knack for bringing order to chaos and an enthusiastic "roll up your sleeves" mentality
Passion for emerging technologies like AI, with interest in ensuring they are developed safely and responsibly
Experience running executive business reviews and managing executive relationships
Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quota in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience selling or expanding usage- or consumption-based API, infrastructure, or developer-platform products
Experience selling to technical founders, CTOs, and engineering leaders at AI-native or developer-first companies
Fluency in the LLM/AI market — model providers, capabilities, pricing models, and how AI-native companies evaluate and switch between them

Cohere is the leading security-first enterprise AI company. We build cutting-edge foundation AI models and end-to-end products that are designed to solve real-world business problems.
We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that.
We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.
We are a global technology company headquartered in Toronto with key offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul. Join us!
Why This Role?
We're seeking an experienced Program Manager to join Cohere's customer-facing Program Management team, with a focus on Canadian public sector and defence accounts. This is a highly specialized role requiring an individual who understands technical program delivery, the technical complexity of frontier AI models and the unique requirements of government and defence organizations.
You will be the critical bridge between our cutting-edge AI capabilities and the specific needs of Canadian federal departments, provincial agencies, Crown corporations, and defence organizations. You'll navigate complex procurement processes, stringent security requirements, data sovereignty concerns, and regulatory compliance while ensuring our customers successfully deploy and scale our AI solutions.
In this role, you'll collaborate with our Strategic Customer team, Applied ML (AML) Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE), Platform, Product, and Go-to-Market teams, serving as the technical program lead and trusted advisor for our most sensitive and high-impact government engagements.
Location: Ottawa required
Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance strongly preferred; candidates eligible and willing to obtain clearance will also be considered.
What You'll Do
Customer Program Leadership:
- Own end-to-end technical program delivery for Canadian public sector and defence customers, from initial deployment through production scaling
- Serve as the primary technical program point of contact for government customers, building trusted relationships with departmental CIOs, IT directors, and technical teams
- Translate complex government requirements (security, compliance, accessibility, bilingualism, data sovereignty) into actionable engineering plans
- Navigate government procurement processes, RFP responses, and contractual technical obligations.
Strategic Communication:
- Provide clear, timely, and objective communication across Cohere's engineering organization, customer stakeholders, and government leadership
- Translate between AI/ML technical concepts and government-appropriate language for decision-makers who may not have deep technical backgrounds
- Present technical roadmaps and status updates to senior government officials and departmental executives
- Represent Cohere's technical capabilities in sensitive government and defence contexts.
Complex Program Management:
- Create and manage project schedules that account for government timelines, security review processes, and ministerial approval cycles
- Identify and manage dependencies across government departments, security authorities, cloud service providers, and internal Cohere teams
- Navigate risks unique to government deployments: privacy compliance, Algorithmic Impact Assessments, Treasury Board submissions, security authorizations
- Drive alignment between product development priorities and specific government requirements.
Technical Delivery & Execution:
- Ensure on-time delivery of AI solutions that meet government-grade security, privacy, accessibility, and performance standards
- Coordinate technical work across multiple teams: model customization, security hardening, integration with government systems, bilingual support
- Establish governance checkpoints appropriate for high-stakes government deployments
- Problem-solve complex technical challenges in air-gapped, on-premises, or highly regulated environments.
You May Be a Good Fit If:
Required Experience:
- 6+ years of experience as a customer-facing Technical or Engineering Program Manager in AI/ML consulting, technology transformation, or enterprise software delivery.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management.
- Experience working with government, defence, or heavily regulated customers (public sector, defence contractors).
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder technical programs with stringent compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or technical certs a plus.
Technical Background:
- Strong understanding of enterprise software deployment architectures (cloud, on-premises, hybrid, air-gapped)
- Working knowledge of or experience with modern AI: LLMs, agentic systems, MCP, RAG, fine-tuning, evals, and responsible AI would be a strong differentiator
- Comfortable discussing API integrations, model inference, data pipelines, and ML operations with technical stakeholders.
Government & Defence Acumen:
- Deep understanding of how government organizations procure, evaluate, and deploy technology
- Familiarity with Canadian government requirements: data sovereignty, privacy laws (Privacy Act), accessibility standards, official languages obligations, security classifications
- Understanding of defence and national security considerations in AI deployment
- Experience with Algorithmic Impact Assessments or AI ethics frameworks is a strong asset
- Eligible to obtain Canadian government security clearance (Top Secret preferred)
Nice to Have:
- Active Canadian government security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) - strong preference for active Top Secret clearance
- Bilingual (English/French) proficiency
- Background in or strong familiarity with Canadian defence, intelligence, or critical infrastructure sectors
- Experience with GC Cloud services (Azure, AWS GovCloud) or Protected B/C environments
- Project management certification (PMP, PgMP) or government-specific methodologies.
Security Clearance Requirements
This role requires eligibility for Canadian government security clearance.
Strong preference will be given to candidates who currently hold an active Top Secret (TS) clearance, as this will enable immediate engagement with our most sensitive defence and national security customers.
However, we will also consider exceptional candidates who:
- Currently hold Secret clearance and are eligible for TS upgrade
- Do not currently hold clearance, but are eligible and willing to undergo the Top Secret clearance process
- Have a previous government security clearance that has lapsed
Please note that obtaining Top Secret clearance can take 12-18 months. Candidates without active clearance will work on non-classified public sector accounts while the clearance process is underway.
What Makes This Role Unique
This isn't typical program management—it's a highly specialized role at the intersection of frontier AI, national security, and public sector digital transformation. You'll work on some of Canada's most sensitive and impactful AI deployments, helping government organizations harness cutting-edge technology while maintaining the highest standards of security, ethics, and accountability.
If you're passionate about responsible AI adoption, understand the unique constraints and opportunities within government, and want to have an outsized impact on how Canada leverages AI to serve its citizens, this role is for you.

- Serve as the prospect’s and customer’s voice, routing insights to Engineering and Product
- Track and report product issues and feature requests using Linear
- Troubleshoot Coder deployments, networking, and Kubernetes components during evaluation
- Contribute pull requests to Coder’s documentation
What you bring:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer selling infrastructure or developer tooling

- Startup-speed execution, ownership mindset, and a player-coach attitude
Bonus tacos if you have
- (Tacos? If you need an ice-breaker, ask how we say thanks by giving tacos!)

OUR USE OF AI IN HIRING
We use AI tools to help manage our recruitment process efficiently and fairly. Specifically:
- Ashby and Brainerr help us review inbound applications by surfacing candidates who best match the role requirements we've defined. This tool does not make hiring decisions; it helps our team prioritize which applications to review first.
- Granola takes notes during our interview calls so our team can focus on the conversation with you.
All hiring decisions are made by humans. Our team reviews applications, conducts interviews, and makes final selections. AI tools assist us but never replace human judgment, and these practices are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection, AI governance, and labor laws. Your data is not used to train AI models.

As a member of the Research Legal team, you'll advise on legal topics across the full lifecycle of building and studying frontier AI models: data acquisition and use, training pipelines, model evaluation and launch, and alignment, interpretability, model welfare, societal impacts, and beneficial deployments research, as well as Responsible Scaling Policy work on biological risk. You'll be a subject matter expert on copyright, privacy, data use, and AI regulation (including the EU AI Act, U.S. state laws, and emerging global rules), and will work directly with researchers on questions that often have no settled answer.
The ideal candidate will have navigated complex legal questions at the intersection of machine learning, data, and academic research in a fast-moving technical environment, with the judgment to work at the cutting edge of AI development while effectively solving issues, enabling innovation, and calibrating risk. This is a uniquely positioned role touching many different facets of AI, presenting the opportunity to be a leader in AI legal thought.
Key responsibilities
Advise research and data teams on data sourcing, licensing, partnerships, and use, and help shape Anthropic's data acquisition and use strategy as laws and markets evolve
Help coordinate regulatory readiness and model launches, review model documentation and system cards, respond to regulatory inquiries, and advise on legal questions for pre-release and internal models
Support the Responsible Scaling Policy as applied to biological and chemical risk, including capability evaluations, tiered access for biosecurity researchers, and dual-use research questions
Counsel the Societal Impacts, Economic, Alignment, Interpretability, Model Welfare, and Beneficial Deployments teams on research design, data collection and sharing, external collaborations, program launches, and publication review
Monitor global AI, privacy, copyright, and export-control developments and translate them into practical internal guidance and policy, working closely with Product, Policy, and other legal stakeholders
Engage with academics, regulators, industry groups, and civil society to help develop norms and best practices for responsible AI development and data governance
Minimum qualifications
Hold a law degree (JD, LLB, or equivalent) and meet the local licensing requirements to work as in-house counsel where you'll be based (California or New York preferred)
Practical, creative problem-solving: the ability to apply legal requirements to fast-changing, deeply technical work, with an understanding that the goal is to enable responsible research and product development in a risk-calibrated environment
Exceptional communication and analytical skills, technical fluency, and the ability to navigate ambiguous and uncharted legal territory, turning complex technical and legal analysis into advice people can act on
Familiarity and comfort advising on the EU AI Act, U.S. legislation and AI frameworks, GDPR/CCPA, and comparable regimes globally, sometimes where no AI-specific legislation exists
Interest in thinking deeply about the impact of AI on society and how to make humanity's transition to the AI age as beneficial as possible
Sound judgment about when to be flexible and when to hold a line; comfort making high-stakes calls in unsettled areas and outside your core expertise; and a low-ego, collaborative approach, doing the work needed rather than delegating it or being territorial
Preferred qualifications
At least 8 years of legal experience advising technology companies on copyright, privacy, data, AI regulation, and related product and policy issues, ideally including time in-house and work on AI/ML products or services
Experience engaging directly with regulators or standards bodies
Working technical literacy: enough familiarity with how models are trained, evaluated, and deployed to ask researchers and engineers the right questions and spot the legal issues in a technical design
An academic or publishing background, or experience with copyright, open-source, and data licensing
Experience with biosecurity, dual-use research, export controls, or safety frameworks such as Anthropic's Responsible Scaling Policy
Experience advising on academic or industry research, including publications, external collaborations, data sharing, or human-subjects and consent questions, ideally in AI or an adjacent technical field
Role-specific policy:
We prefer candidates who can work from our San Francisco or New York office at least 3 days a week, but may consider other locations for the right candidate.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$265,000
—
$335,000 USD
