Overview
Smartling is an AI-native translation platform that's redefining how the world's biggest brands go global - ranked #3 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list. We're growing rapidly at scale and are backed by Battery Ventures, a global technology-focused investment firm. While most companies are still figuring out how to use AI, we've spent years building it into the core of our platform - and we're just getting started.
As a Senior Localization Operations Specialist on Smartling's Managed Services team, you'll own complex, larger-scale customer accounts and serve as an operational advisor to both clients and junior team members. This role blends hands-on execution with strategic thinking - you'll optimize workflows, lead escalation resolution, and help clients mature their localization programs, all while mentoring the next generation of Loc Ops Specialists. We are looking for a hire based on the US East Coast at this time.
You Will
Own complex or high-volume customer accounts end-to-end - from process design through delivery and retrospective.
Design and optimize localization processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and quality across diverse client accounts and operational environments.
Lead escalation resolution with minimal oversight, driving issues to closure while maintaining clear, proactive communication with clients throughout the resolution process.
Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to improve localization processes and support the scaling of their programs effectively.
Proactively identify operational risks - including volume spikes and tooling gaps - and mitigate them before they impact delivery or quality.
Mentor junior Localization Coordinators and Operations Specialists on process design, platform usage, and execution best practices.
You Have
3-5 years of experience in localization project management or operations, including ownership of complex accounts.
Deep hands-on experience with Smartling or comparable enterprise translation management systems (TMS).
Demonstrated ability to design, optimize, and govern localization processes at scale across complex, multi-account environments.
Strong track record of managing escalations and navigating challenging customer conversations, providing advisory support, education, and guidance to drive successful resolution.
Experience mentoring or coaching junior Localization Coordinators and Operations Specialists, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts and provide effective training in a localization or operations context.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging senior client stakeholders.
Solid understanding of localization industry trends, AI-enabled tooling, translation memory (TM) strategy, and localization frameworks.
Preferred but not required
Working knowledge of file engineering fundamentals, scripting languages, and localization engineering concepts, including file formats, encoding standards, and placeholder/tag management.
Experience supporting global, enterprise-tier clients with complex, multi-stream localization programs.
Fluency or working proficiency in a second language
You Are
Strategic.
You think beyond immediate deliverables, considering how today’s decisions impact the client’s localization program at scale.
Resilient.
Escalations and ambiguity don’t destabilize your approach; you stay grounded and focus on driving resolution.
Influential.
You build trust across internal and external stakeholders through expertise, consistency, and dependable follow-through.
Analytical.
You leverage available data, tools, and AI insights to identify trends and inform clear, actionable recommendations.
Mentorship-Minded.
You actively invest time in developing less experienced team members, helping them build skills and grow their capabilities.

Money is moving onto the internet, and the shift has a name:
Open Money.
This is money that is open, portable, agentic, and owned by you. MetaMask spent the last ten years building it; with 100M+ downloads, users in ~190 countries, and trillions in cumulative transaction volume, it's the most trusted self-custodial financial platform on the internet. Now we're building the operating system for your money: one place to hold, move, grow, and use anything you own. Join a remote-first, global team rebuilding how money works: a problem that touches everyone, every day.
About the team
MetaMask's design team is working to establish MetaMask as the premier wallet in fintech, elevating the craft of design and leading the industry as the next phase of decentralized finance unfolds. Our focus is reducing friction while preserving user trust, so more people can safely explore the world of Web3.
Prediction markets are one of the most exciting areas in consumer finance right now, sitting at the intersection of trading, sports, news, culture, and real world events. This is a big growth area for MetaMask, and we're looking for a Lead Product Designer to help shape where it goes next. This is a chance to take real ownership of the end-to-end Prediction Markets experience inside one of the most widely used products in web3 — helping define how people discover markets, understand what's happening, trade, manage positions, and come back as events unfold. The product is still evolving, so much of the experience is still there to be defined, and that's a big part of what makes this role interesting: we're not looking for someone to polish a finished product, we want someone who wants to help shape it. You'll work closely with Product and Engineering, have a strong voice in what we build, and take ideas from early thinking through to something real in the hands of users.
What you’ll do
Own the Prediction Markets experience from early thinking through launch and iteration.
Define how users discover markets, understand them, trade and manage their positions.
Make complex ideas like probabilities, liquidity and market mechanics feel clear and easy to understand.
Work closely with Product and Engineering to shape what we build, not just how it looks.
Prototype quickly using AI to explore ideas and get to stronger solutions faster.
Set a high bar for visual and interaction design, and use research and data to keep improving the product.
Would be great if you brought this to the role
5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped consumer products.
You have a proven track record of delivering impactful, customer-centric designs that solve complex problems and drive commercial outcomes.
Exceptional visual and interaction design craft, with strong product instincts and attention to detail.
Experience taking complex or ambiguous problems from early ideas through to shipped experiences.
Comfortable using AI, code and modern design tools to explore, iterate and build quickly.
High ownership, strong communication and the confidence to push work forward without waiting for a perfectly defined brief.
Someone who genuinely loves sports and understands how fans follow teams, leagues, games and major sporting events.
Bonus points
Experience in trading, investing, fintech, sports, betting, marketplaces or other high frequency consumer products.
An interest in prediction markets and where the category could go.
Experience working with market data, probabilities, charts or financial positions.
Experience designing discovery, feeds, ranking or personalised content.
Experience with crypto or web3, although deep crypto knowledge is not required.
Don't meet all the requirements? Don't sweat it. We’re passionate about building a diverse team of humans and as such, if you think you've got what it takes for our chaotic-but-fun, remote-friendly, start-up environment—apply anyway, detailing your relevant transferable skills in your cover letter. While we have a pretty good idea of what we need, we're ready for you to challenge our thinking on who needs to be in this role
.
The salary range listed for this role applies to US-based candidates only. Compensation for candidates based outside the US (including Canada, EMEA, and LATAM) will be determined based on location, experience, and skills during the interview process, and may differ from the listed US range.

In the rapidly evolving Web3 space, we believe that everyone is a builder. This expansive paradigm requires a range of backgrounds, talents, skills, and experiences to influence and shape the future. At MetaMask, this diversity fuels our ability to shift control and redefine the realm of possibility. We are committed to ensuring that our technology empowers people and communities through decentralized technologies. We welcome the range of perspectives and differences and celebrate them. We're excited to see how your unique skills as a builder can contribute to our vision, drive innovation, and help us shape a more inclusive Web3.

Jira, ShotGrid/Flow Production Tracking, Confluence
Atouts
Expérience sur un jeu
Live Service / Games as a Service (GaaS)
.
Expérience avec des logiciels 3D tels que
Maya ou Blender

Unreal Engine
.
Bilinguisme

BUILDING THE FUTURE OF OPEN FINANCE
Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.
THE TEAM
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
We're looking for a Head of Exchange Infrastructure to own the layer every Kraken product is built on: the matching engine, core infrastructure, third-party custody, the algo engine and the API engine. Kraken grew up as a set of vertically integrated products, each with its own engine and its own APIs. This role consolidates them into a single exchange stack that serves every product and every interface. You will lead a team of four to five product managers, partnered with an engineering manager. It is a senior, independent team, which means you get leverage quickly and you are expected to stay close to the work.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Own the product vision and roadmap for the exchange layer: matching engine, core infrastructure, third-party custody, algo engine and API engine
- Lead and grow a team of four to five product managers, and set the bar for product craft across the layer
- Lead the consolidation of multiple matching engines into one, starting with US derivatives, then international derivatives, then spot
- Build interface-agnostic, so every product team and every interface can build on the same platform rather than their own
- Define success metrics (p99 latency, throughput, uptime, resiliency) and hold teams accountable to them
- Partner with engineering leaders across exchange and core infrastructure to sequence the migration without disrupting live markets
- Partner with Risk and Credit Infrastructure so a client can hold one account and trade every product against it
- Anticipate industry shifts and shape our platform to stay ahead
- Align cross-functional teams (product, engineering, risk, compliance) around the exchange strategy
WHAT YOU BRING
- Senior product leader with experience in exchange, trading, or high-performance platforms
- Experience managing and developing product managers, on a team senior enough to run without you in the room
- Happy to be a player-coach. This team is independent, so you will own roadmaps and write specs yourself at times, not only review them
- Proven ability to set product vision and translate it into a long-term roadmap
- Strong understanding of matching engine and market data architecture, and the tradeoffs low latency forces
- Experience building platforms for internal customers, with the judgment to tell a platform from a series of bespoke builds
- Excellent communication skills — can influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A passion for crypto markets, market structure, and building the next generation of infrastructure
NICE TO HAVES
- Engineering background before moving into product, so you've built or operated high-performance systems yourself and not just specced them
- Experience across both spot and derivatives venues, with the market structure differences that come with each
- Time at a crypto exchange operating at comparable scale, volume and uptime expectations
- Track record building platform roadmaps that interlock with adjacent product orgs rather than running in isolation
Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.
We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
OUR COMMITMENT
Payward is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate the diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions, and unique perspectives that everyone brings to the table. We hire based on merit, seeking out people with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgeable about crypto.
We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Results are considered alongside experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision.
As an equal opportunity employer, we don't tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind, whether based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state, or local laws.
