Synthesia is the world’s leading AI video platform for business, used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2017, the company is headquartered in London, with offices and teams across Europe and the US.
As AI continues to shape the way we live and work, Synthesia develops products to enhance visual communication and enterprise skill development, helping people work better and stay at the center of successful organizations.
Following our recent Series E funding round, where we raised $200 million, our valuation stands at $4 billion. Our total funding exceeds $530 million from premier investors including Accel, NVentures (Nvidia's VC arm), Kleiner Perkins, GV, and Evantic Capital, alongside the founders and operators of Stripe, Datadog, Miro, and Webflow.
THE ROLE:
We're looking for a Staff (L6) Product Designer to lead design for some of Synthesia's AI-native, agentic Sessions product surfaces.
Sessions are the experiences where employees learn through conversation, companies lrun a survey at scale, and AI becomes a direct participant in how work gets done - not just a tool behind the scenes.
This area is central to redefining what a video platform can be: moving upstream from content creation into workforce development, and making complex AI capabilities feel natural, trustworthy, and effective for everyday users.
You'll operate as a senior IC: setting direction, influencing roadmap decisions, shaping bets with Product and Engineering leaders, and raising the craft bar.
In practice, this role is about solving AI-native design problems, for example:
- Designing real-time, conversational avatar experiences that feel engaging and natural - not robotic or gimmicky - for employees learning and practising skills at work.
- Creating interaction patterns for AI-driven workflows that give users the right amount of control, transparency, and trust without overwhelming them with complexity.
- Improving output quality through better structure, guidance, and feedback loops - helping users understand what the AI is doing, catch issues early, and iterate with confidence.
- Working at the frontier where AI changes what "interaction" means, and the best patterns are genuinely still being invented.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Own major AI-native bets end-to-end, from problem framing to shipped outcomes and iteration.
- Set a design vision for our "Sessions" surface, and influence adjacent product areas to stay coherent.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define what "great" looks like (principles, quality bar, success metrics) and then drive toward it.
- Prototype and test interaction models quickly - including novel agentic and conversational patterns - and know when high-fidelity matters.
- Raise the bar on craft: interaction design, UI quality, systems thinking, and consistency across AI-native experiences.
YOU SHOULD APPLY IF YOU BRING:
- Significant experience designing complex, high-usage product surfaces - ideally including AI-native products, agentic features, conversational interfaces, or products where the system takes meaningful autonomous action.
- Strong craft in interaction design and visual design, and a track record of shipping work that measurably improves the product experience.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity: you can turn unclear and fast-moving problem spaces into crisp direction, and you do not wait for perfect clarity.
- Systems thinking: you understand how AI capabilities, model constraints, and product architecture shape what's actually possible in the UX - not just what looks good on a screen.
- Excellent communication in design reviews and cross-functional decision-making contexts.
- Experience designing workflows where trust, transparency, and user control are central - helping users feel confident in AI-driven outputs rather than confused or excluded.
- A track record of tackling novel problems in maturing product spaces, and shaping the product from early-stage bets through to execution.
- The ability to leverage feedback from users and customers to ensure the product continues to meet real needs - including enterprise users with high stakes around quality, compliance, and scale.
AT SYNTHESIA WE EXPECT EVERYONE TO:
- Put the Customer First
- Own it & Go Direct
- Be Fast & Experimental
- Make the Journey Fun
You can read more about this in this public Notion page: https://synthesia.notion.site/How-we-work-at-Synthesia-f794caa72f8446efb6be22b551ce0fa2
BENEFITS
- A flexible, remote friendly role based out of Europe or one of our hubs in London, Copenhagen, Munich, or Zurich.
- 25 days of annual leave + public holidays in the country where you are based.
- A generous referral scheme.
- Work from home set up.
- At Synthesia, you can work from anywhere (within reason) in the world for up to 60 days per year!
- A huge opportunity for career growth as you’ll help shape a market-defining product.

ABOUT US
Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/
ABOUT THE ROLE
At Ruby Labs, we are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to own and drive a new cross-platform desktop product from first commit to production.
This is a high-ownership role with an unusually deep systems component. The application is not a wrapped web app: it captures system and microphone audio in real time, renders an always-on-top overlay across the user's workspace, registers global shortcuts, and integrates with the operating system at a level that requires native code on both macOS and Windows.
Our architecture is Electron for the application and UI layer, with native modules and helper processes in Swift and C++ where the platform requires it. You will own that boundary, deciding what belongs in TypeScript, what belongs in native code, and making the two halves behave as one reliable product.
You will also own everything that happens after the build: code signing, notarization, entitlements, permission onboarding, auto-update, and crash reporting. On this product, those are not an afterthought; they are a significant share of the engineering work, and getting them wrong is what stops users from ever running the app.
You will operate as the senior technical voice for desktop within your team, setting the engineering standard for the platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DESKTOP APPLICATION & ENGINEERING QUALITY
- Own the Electron architecture end to end — main, renderer and helper processes, IPC design, context isolation, process lifecycle — and deliver major features within agreed timelines.
- Build transparent, frameless, always-on-top overlay windows that behave correctly across full-screen spaces, multiple displays and mixed-DPI setups, alongside global shortcuts, tray presence and low-latency UI under continuous background load.
- Design a clean platform abstraction in TypeScript so the macOS and Windows implementations stay isolated and independently testable, and write idiomatic Swift and C++ in the native layer.
- Keep the product reliable: defensive handling of unstable platform APIs, tests and code reviews, performance, memory and battery budgets, and remediation of security-review and penetration-test findings within agreed severity SLAs.
NATIVE PLATFORM INTEGRATION
- Build and maintain the native layer: Node addons (N-API / node-addon-api) and out-of-process helpers in Swift and C++.
- Implement real-time system audio capture — Core Audio process taps and ScreenCaptureKit on macOS, WASAPI loopback on Windows — including device change handling, format negotiation and graceful recovery from driver-level failures.
- Integrate with the Accessibility API (AXUIElement) on macOS and UI Automation on Windows to read application context reliably.
- Own the IPC protocol and lifecycle between Electron and the native helpers, and keep the application working as Apple and Microsoft change their platforms.
DISTRIBUTION, PERMISSIONS & RELEASE RELIABILITY
- Own code signing and notarization on macOS — hardened runtime, entitlements, nested binary signing, provisioning profiles — and Authenticode signing, SmartScreen reputation and antivirus false positives on Windows.
- Design the permission onboarding flow — microphone, system audio, screen recording, accessibility — so that grant rates stay high and failure states are recoverable.
- Build and maintain the release pipeline: CI matrix builds, signing from CI with HSM-backed certificates, auto-update, staged rollout and rollback.
- Own crash reporting and production telemetry for the desktop client, and act on what it tells you.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including production-grade TypeScript/Node.js.
- 3+ years building and shipping Electron applications to real end users, not internal tools or proofs of concept.
- Hands-on native macOS development in Swift and/or Objective-C, with AppKit and at least one system-level framework such as Core Audio, AVFoundation, ScreenCaptureKit, or the Accessibility API.
- Practical experience writing native Node addons (N-API / node-addon-api) or bundling and communicating with out-of-process native helpers.
- Demonstrated experience with macOS code signing, notarization, entitlements, and the TCC permission model — you have debugged a rejected notarization and know how to read the log.
- Working knowledge of the Windows desktop platform: Win32 APIs, Authenticode signing, and the practical realities of SmartScreen and antivirus reputation.
- Strong grasp of multi-process architecture, IPC, and debugging issues that only reproduce on a user's machine.
NICE TO HAVE
- Real-time audio pipelines — buffering, resampling, mixing multiple sources, or streaming to speech-to-text services.
- Signing from CI with hardware-backed certificates (Azure Key Vault, DigiCert KeyLocker, or similar), and antivirus whitelisting or SmartScreen reputation building for a new product.
- Auto-update infrastructure such as Squirrel, electron-updater or Sparkle, including staged rollouts.
- Crash reporting and symbolication for native code (Crashpad, Sentry, or similar).
- Prior experience shipping a consumer desktop product at meaningful scale.
LOCATION
Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ± 4 hours of CET. This ensures optimal collaboration and communication during working hours.

This role is designed for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is energized by problem-solving. It is a permanent, hybrid position based in Manila, with three days per week in the office.

Support the Regional HRBP in submitting hiring requests to TA through Workday
Share regular updates with the Regional HRBP on hiring status and flag any potential hiring risks or challenges

Act as a point of contact for complex HR queries related to employee relations, policies and procedures, performance, and compensation from employees and managers across APAC
Collaborate with PSD on complex employee queries related to other HR topics such as time-off requests and balances, Workday challenges, and more
Liaise with PSD on open Jira tickets and ensure timely resolution and follow-up
Actively contribute to the FAQ and knowledge base for recurring questions to reduce query volume over time, in partnership with the broader HR team

Support the execution of the APAC Engagement Plan (Career Path Program, Recognition Program, AI and Automation initiatives)

Cross-check open positions in Workday against workforce planning data and flag discrepancies to the Regional HRBP
Coordinate with HR teams globally to resolve data inconsistencies
Prepare HR reports on demand: headcount, open positions, engagement metrics, and data sanity checks
Support the Regional HRBP with data preparation for leadership presentations and business reviews
Maintain data hygiene across HR tracking tools (spreadsheets, Workday exports, dashboards)

A degree in Human Resources (Human Resource Management), Labor Relations, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
Experience
1 to 3 years of HR experience in dynamic, fast-moving environments (for example HR operations, HR generalist, or HRIS support)
Experience with HRIS platforms (Workday experience is a strong plus, not a requirement)

Proactive communication: you flag issues before they become problems
Discretion: you handle sensitive information with care and sound judgment

Real impact across APAC:
Your accuracy in Workday and your follow-through keep hiring, onboarding, and people movements running smoothly across multiple markets, and your insights help the Regional HRBP and business leaders decide what to do next.

WHOOP is seeking a Retail Account Manager, Australia & New Zealand to own and grow our retail partnerships across the region. This is a highly cross-functional role that combines commercial account management with hands-on trade marketing execution. You will be responsible for driving the performance of our retail partners—from managing forecasts, purchase orders, inventory, and account plans to developing and executing programs that increase awareness, engagement, and sell-through. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for key retail partners while collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and other global teams to grow the WHOOP membership base and strengthen our retail presence across Australia and New Zealand.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and grow key retail partnerships across Australia and New Zealand, managing day-to-day relationships, commercial performance, forecasts, purchase orders, inventory, assortment, sales reporting, and ongoing account needs.
- Develop account strategies and joint business plans that support sales targets and broader company objectives, using sales performance, market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify risks and growth opportunities.
- Lead regular retailer business reviews and ongoing account touchpoints, partnering with retailers to evaluate performance and execute against opportunities across assortment, merchandising, marketing, training, and sell-through.
- Develop and execute retailer marketing plans and omni-channel activations in partnership with internal Marketing teams, including point-of-sale materials, in-store displays, digital assets, promotional programs, and retail associate training.
- Serve as the regional voice of our retail partners internally, collaborating across Marketing, Operations, Finance, Apparel & Accessories, Legal, and other teams to resolve issues, support launches, and deliver an exceptional WHOOP brand experience.
- Support the continued expansion of the WHOOP retail footprint across Australia and New Zealand by assessing market opportunities, identifying prospective partners, supporting commercial discussions and onboarding, and maintaining visibility into the regional retailer pipeline.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience in account management, sales, trade marketing, or a related commercial role, ideally within consumer electronics, sporting goods, health and wellness, or another relevant consumer category.
- Demonstrated experience managing retail or wholesale accounts, with an understanding of the commercial fundamentals that drive successful partnerships, including forecasting, inventory, purchase orders, assortment, and sell-through.
- Experience developing and executing retail marketing programs, including in-store and digital activations, merchandising, promotional campaigns, and/or retail associate training.
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset with the ability to translate sales, account, and market data into clear priorities and actionable growth opportunities.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with external retail partners and cross-functional internal teams.
- Self-starter who is comfortable operating independently, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Passion for fitness, health, and technology, with willingness to travel throughout Australia and New Zealand and internationally as needed.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
