Job Summary
The Bugcrowd RL and Reasoning Team focuses on pushing the boundaries of autonomous cybersecurity by building authentic, verifiable reinforcement learning environments for world-leading foundational AI companies. As a Reinforcement Learning Engineer specializing in Reinforcement Learning from Verifiable Rewards (RLVR), you will design and scale automated verification pipelines that transform real-world software vulnerabilities into deterministic reward functions. In this role, you will bridge the gap between low-level security analysis and modern LLM reasoning models, engineering environments where AI agents learn to discover, exploit, and remediate software vulnerabilities with mathematical certainty. Instead of relying on subjective human feedback, your work directly powers the rigorous, verifiable reward signals that teach next-generation frontier AI models how to master complex cybersecurity domain logic. You will work at the intersection of fuzzing, dynamic program analysis, system exploitation, and scalable ML infrastructure to shape the safety and offensive/defensive capabilities of future artificial intelligence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design, build, and deploy high-throughput RLVR (Reinforcement Learning from Verifiable Rewards) environments that evaluate LLM action sequences against deterministic execution outcomes.
Develop automated test harnesses, sandboxes, and verification engines that convert complex vulnerability research (e.g., memory corruption, web security, logic bugs) into binary pass/fail reward signals.
Integrate Bugcrowd’s Mayhem automated analysis platform and real-world vulnerability feeds into continuous, scalable RL environment generation pipelines.
Architect safe, isolated, and highly reproducible execution environments (using Docker, BuildKit, or Nix) capable of running thousands of simultaneous agent-driven exploitation and patching trajectories.
Collaborate directly with researchers at frontier AI labs including Anthropic, OpenAI, and Cohere to define standard benchmark formats, observation spaces, and verifiable evaluation metrics for cybersecurity tasks.
Implement precise telemetry, ground-truth verification algorithms, and trajectory logging to analyze agent reasoning paths and prevent reward hacking or false positives.
Build low-level instrumentation and debugging tools to monitor memory states, process executions, and network behaviors during agent interaction cycles.
Optimize infrastructure performance and environment reset latency to support massive-scale parallel sampling and distributed RL training workflows.
Benchmark and evaluate frontier AI model performance across diverse offensive and defensive security challenges, such as automated fuzzing, exploit payload generation, and patch validation.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of RL training workflows used by modern LLM systems, specifically execution-based feedback or Reinforcement Learning from Verifiable Rewards (RLVR).
Proficiency developing applications in Python and low-level systems programming in C, with Rust experience being a strong plus.
Solid understanding of software vulnerabilities, binary exploitation, fuzzing methodologies, or program analysis.
Experience with DevOps pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), reproducible builds (Docker, BuildKit, Nix), and comfort working with Linux systems and low-level debugging.
Experience working with or building benchmark environments (e.g., CTFs, SWE-bench, security challenges, or execution sandboxes).
Preferred Experience
Experience designing custom reward functions, ground-truth verifiers, or automated grading engines for AI safety and reasoning models.
Background in low-level program analysis tools, sanitizers (e.g., ASan/MSan), compiler instrumentation, or automated exploit generation tools.
Proven track record of participating in or developing competitive cybersecurity benchmarks, CTFs, or open-source AI evaluation frameworks.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Sitting and / or standing - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Carrying and / or lifting - Must be able to carry / move laptop as needed throughout the work day.
Environment - remote, work-from-home 100% of the time.

We are building AI to simulate the world through merging art and science.
We believe that world models are at the frontier of progress in artificial intelligence. Language models alone won’t solve the world’s hardest problems – robotics, disease, scientific discovery. Real progress requires models that experience the world and learn from their mistakes, the same way that humans do. And this kind of trial and error can be massively accelerated when done in simulation, rather than in the real world.
World models offer the most clear path to general-purpose simulation, changing how stories are told, how scientific progress is made and how the next frontiers of humanity are reached.
Our team consists of creative, open minded, caring and ambitious people who are determined to change the world. We aspire to continuously build impossible things and our ability to do so relies on building an incredible team. If you are driven to do the same, we'd love to hear from you.
*Titles posted to our careers page are updated regularly to best advertise the role and expected seniority, but internally we have a flat titling system with two types of titles: one for individual contributors and one for people managers.
ABOUT THE ROLE
*Open to hiring remote across North America. We have offices in NYC, San Francisco, and Seattle.
We’re looking for an AI-Native Social Media Creative, a creative generalist who works natively with AI tools to produce exceptional short-form work for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and X. Your background might be in editing, directing, design, animation, art direction or writing. What matters is that you’re already deeply embedded in AI-assisted creative workflows and are pushing the boundaries of what these tools can do. Editing is the core of the role, and you know how to cut short-form video that holds attention from the first frame to the last.
This is a making role. You’ll create work across formats, from short-form video and motion to design and editorial, using Runway’s products and the broader landscape of generative AI tools. Some days you’ll be cutting a launch-day Reel from generated footage. Other days you’ll be jumping on a trend the moment it breaks, building out tutorial content or exploring a creative application of a product feature no one’s tried yet. The output varies; the throughput and quality standard don’t.
Much of your work will sit at the top of the funnel, often as someone’s first encounter with Runway. It needs to stop the scroll, perform with the algorithm and feel native to each platform. You’ll also work in real time, turning model releases, trends and cultural moments into fast, reactive content while they’re still peaking.
You’ll sit within the creative department and report to the Social Media Lead. But the nature of the role means you’ll also work across product, research and marketing, often as the person who translates a product capability into a compelling creative artifact that’s geared to social audiences.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create high-quality short-form video, motion, design and animation for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and X using AI tools, primarily Runway’s own products
- Edit short-form content built to hold attention, from the opening hook through the final frame
- Develop concepts and execute finished work, not just prototypes, from initial idea through final output
- Create top-of-funnel content that stops the scroll and performs with each platform’s algorithm
- Respond to trends, news and cultural moments with fast, real-time content
- Explore and push the creative boundaries of generative AI tools, finding new techniques, workflows and visual languages
- Produce content across brand campaigns, product marketing, social, tutorials and internal demos
- Partner with product and research teams to translate new features and model capabilities into creative work that showcases what’s possible
- Contribute to the team’s evolving creative process by sharing workflows, techniques and best practices as the tools themselves evolve
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 4 to 8 years of professional creative experience in social, in editing, directing, design, animation, art direction, writing or a combination
- Exceptional short-form editing skills, with a strong instinct for hooks, pacing and sound
- A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional creative output made with AI tools, not just traditional work, and not just experimentation, but polished, intentional creative work
- Deep, hands-on fluency with generative AI creative tools: you use them daily and understand their capabilities and constraints at a practitioner level
- Strong visual and conceptual taste: you know what good looks like regardless of the medium or how it was made
- Proven understanding of social media across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X, with a strong handle on trends, formats, strategies and what each algorithm rewards
- Real-time instincts: you spot trends early and turn quality work around fast
- Self-direction and creative initiative: you don’t wait for a brief to start making
- Curiosity about the technology itself: you follow model releases, experiment with new tools and understand the trajectory of generative AI
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where the tools, workflows and possibilities are changing constantly
Runway strives to recruit and retain exceptional talent from diverse backgrounds while ensuring pay equity for our team. Our salary ranges are based on competitive market rates for our size, stage and industry, and salary is just one part of the overall compensation package we provide.
There are many factors that go into salary determinations, including relevant experience, skill level and qualifications assessed during the interview process, and maintaining internal equity with peers on the team. The range shared below is a general expectation for the function as posted, but we are also open to considering candidates who may be more or less experienced than outlined in the job description. In this case, we will communicate any updates in the expected salary range.
Lastly, the provided range is the expected salary for candidates in the U.S. Outside of those regions, there may be a change in the range, which again, will be communicated to candidates.

ABOUT NIANTIC SPATIAL
AI has learned from almost everything online, but it still struggles with the physical world, where 99.5% of economic activity happens. It doesn’t know where things are, how spaces fit together, or what changes over time.
That’s one of the biggest unsolved problems in AI, and it’s the one we’re solving at Niantic Spatial. We build spatial AI models and services so people and machines can reason, learn and act safely in the physical world. We turn camera imagery, video, sensor data and archives into accurate, AI-readable representations of real places that robots can train in and machines can use to know exactly where they are.
In physical AI, mistakes have real consequences. That’s why we build AI grounded in measured reality, not guesswork, so the people and machines relying on it can trust it to get things right.
Our team built some of the world’s most widely used maps. Now we’re building something bigger: a living, measured record of the real world that machines can query, learn from and use to understand how places change over time. If you want to help AI understand the world we actually live in, come build with us.

We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. Read our Culture Manual https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/culture and learn more about how we work https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/careers.
ABOUT THE CAPITAL MARKETS TEAM
Capital Markets is responsible for the company’s financial markets facing businesses including daily trading operations, opportunity identification and growing those business lines. As Wealthsimple’s interface to the markets we are ultimately responsible for the execution of all the firm’s orders both on behalf of our clients and the company’s own trading activities. In order to accomplish this we work closely with and partner with functions across the company.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Quantitative Trader at Wealthsimple, you’ll be conducting research and building models that describe how the markets behave, turn that research into algorithms and business insights to produce an edge for our clients and the company. You will also manage the daily trading operations of those systems. In this role you will have the opportunity to apply the theoretical, coming up with ideas, simulating to prove a thesis, validating with real world results and dynamically responding to changing conditions. We’re looking for self-starters who are excited about the prospect of building a new function, defining new tools and pipelines and ultimately owning the outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build quantitative models that describe and predict how markets move; this will involve conducting research and understanding liquidity profiles, price movement and market microstructure.
- Model the characteristics of order flow, including flow toxicity, classification of activity, to inform and optimize routing, execution and risk decisions.
- Develop trading algorithms to programmatically decide how orders are generated and routed, and work alongside engineers to deploy those systems into production.
- Manage the daily trading operations of our algorithmic trading systems.
- Respond to changing market conditions to ensure algorithms are placing orders optimally.
- Design and maintain simulation frameworks to validate algorithm performance against historical data.
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, data science, operations and product teams.
SKILLS YOU BRING
- 3+ years of experience in quantitative trading, quantitative research, algorithmic trading development, or a closely related capital markets role
- STEM degree from a leading institution
- Excellent Python scripting
- Solid foundation in statistics, probability, stochastic processes, and quantitative methods
- Understanding of Canadian equity market structure
- Familiarity with low-latency trading technologies and methodologies
- CIRO-registered as a trader is an asset
WHO YOU ARE
- You take ownership, and want to directly drive outcomes. You will come up with the ideas, prove those ideas out, get them implemented and be responsible for how they run day in and day out. Holding yourself accountable for the results.
- You are data driven and methodical. You are comfortable working with statistics and will follow the numbers, not force them to conform to a thesis.
- You like to understand the full system, if something does not align with your mental model you will ask questions and dig in.
- You have a passion for financial markets, including news-moving items, financial engineering, various assets, market microstructure and the technology that enables markets.
- You can communicate complex concepts clearly, and are adept at adjusting based on your audience.
