Why Sony Interactive Entertainment?
Sony Interactive Entertainment isn’t just the Best Place to Play — it’s also the Best Place to Work. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the PlayStation brand. As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we’re part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting-edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help shape and build the next generation of our network automation platforms.
Our challenge is one of scale, complexity and criticality. We operate a massive global network supporting PlayStation Network, spanning more than 40 interconnection locations and 20+ data centres worldwide. Operating infrastructure at this scale safely and efficiently requires us to move beyond specialist-driven workflows and individual automation tools toward reliable, declarative software platforms.
You will help make that transition. You will work on software that turns complex network and infrastructure operations into reliable, API-driven and increasingly self-service capabilities. This includes building control-plane services, declarative APIs and intent-based controllers that manage production infrastructure safely and consistently across our global footprint.
This is a Staff-level engineering role with significant technical influence. You will combine hands-on engineering with setting technical direction: defining architectures, solving complex cross-system and distributed-systems problems, writing designs, driving alignment with senior engineers and architects, and mentoring engineers across the team.
Your work will directly influence how one of the world's largest gaming networks is operated and automated, while establishing engineering patterns and platforms that can be reused across multiple network domains and services.
What you'll be doing:
Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for network automation and infrastructure control platforms, treating the self-service network API as a product by working with users and partner teams to define outcomes, establish clear expectations for API behavior and reliability, align on team responsibilities, and ensure those commitments are met.
Use domain-driven design with network experts, software engineers and API consumers to establish shared language and bounded contexts, then turn those agreements into versioned, testable contracts.
Design and build APIs, services, controllers and reconciliation workflows that manage production infrastructure safely at scale.
Build on the Kubernetes API, including custom resources and control loops that continuously converge actual state toward declared intent.
Own the operational Kubernetes path: CRD rollout, RBAC and admission, controller health, Helm packaging, deployment drift and incident diagnosis.
Design distributed workflows that operate correctly under eventual consistency, at-least-once delivery, concurrent writes and partial failure, with idempotency and safe recovery as fundamental properties.
Design stable APIs, schemas and data models used across team boundaries, including versioning and backwards compatibility.
Develop patterns for multi-tenant infrastructure platforms, including tenant isolation, authorization, policy enforcement and safe automation boundaries.
Establish strong approaches to testing, observability and change safety for software that changes live infrastructure.
Improve software delivery practices through automated CI gates, versioned artifacts, controlled promotion, and safe deployment and recovery strategies.
Lead complex migrations and modernization of existing automation, services and data models, evaluating when components should be evolved, replaced or rewritten, and ensuring safe coexistence, behavioral compatibility and retirement of legacy paths.
Drive technical alignment across software engineering, networking, operations and architecture teams; lead decisions within your area of accountability, contribute constructively to decisions owned by others, and make technology choices based on long-term company and product value.
Mentor engineers, lead technical and design reviews, and raise software engineering standards across the wider organization.
What we're looking for:
Must have
Deep expertise in a backend language such as Python, Go, Rust or Java, including asynchronous concurrency, static typing, data modelling and validation, API development, packaging and tooling.
Strong experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators, including custom resources and reconciliation/control-loop patterns.
Strong experience building event-driven distributed systems, particularly eventual consistency, at-least-once delivery, idempotency, optimistic concurrency and partial-failure handling.
Experience designing and building self-service, multi-tenant platforms, including tenant isolation, policy and access control.
Strong API and schema design skills, including versioning and schema evolution for interfaces consumed by other teams and systems.
Demonstrated technical leadership across team boundaries, including driving architectural designs, building agreement among senior technical stakeholders and mentoring other engineers.
A track record of taking ambiguous, technically complex problems from architecture through to reliable production systems that manage large-scale infrastructure, such as networks, compute or cloud resources.
Nice to have
Networking fundamentals, particularly BGP, IP fabrics and VXLAN/EVPN/L3VPN.
Working knowledge of Go, sufficient to understand and contribute to adjacent services and controllers.
Experience designing testing and observability strategies for production infrastructure automation, including systems and backends that cannot be fully reproduced in CI.
Experience with graph databases, or with source-of-truth systems that model infrastructure and its relationships.
The impact
You will help establish the architecture and engineering practices behind a new generation of network automation, moving from individual scripts and specialist-driven workflows toward declarative, model-driven and reliable platforms.
At Staff level, your impact is expected to extend beyond the code you personally deliver. You will help shape the APIs and designs other teams build on, develop other engineers, and establish technical patterns that can be reused across multiple network domains and services.
Please note, Sony Interactive Entertainment conducts background checks at the offer stage for all new employees (which may include criminal background checks for some roles) and will need to process personal information to support these checks.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
How would you like to shape the product experience behind a portfolio of apps already generating hundreds of millions in ARR, growing 100% year over year, in one of the world’s largest categories that still remains wide open? You’ll lead product development for Welltech’s next app, with real cross-functional authority to take a defined concept and turn it into a product millions of people use. It will be built on the same new, shared tech stack that powers YogaGo, Muscle Booster, and WalkFit, so it can lean on proven foundational capabilities (onboarding, personalization, content discovery, and more) and experiment and innovate faster than it could alone.
Reporting to the Head of Product, you will own the new app’s end-to-end in-app experience, from onboarding and activation to personalization and content discovery. As the core Product counterpart to the Head of Growth, you’ll work as one team to turn growth opportunities into product initiatives and scale the app into a top market player. You’ll translate the defined vision into impactful product decisions, balancing breakthrough innovation with fast, iterative feature development to deliver value to millions of users. You’ll also own the unit economics behind that growth, making sure every improvement in activation and retention translates into sustainable, profitable revenue.
Our culture encourages collaboration, transparency, passion, innovation, and having fun through continuous self-improvement, learning, and actively sharing feedback to constantly improve performance. You will move fast and are used to driving yourself and your teams in a quickly changing environment. You will challenge the norms and address innovation at pace and at scale. You will be comfortable with ambiguity, prototyping your own ideas (AI-assisted where it helps) before handing them to engineering to build for real, and you’ll address challenges in a systematic, proactive manner to find solutions that increase customer value and happiness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the moment that matters most. Drive the onboarding and activation experience of the new app. You’re not inheriting legacy decisions; you’re making them.
- Turn the concept into a product. Translate the defined app vision into a clear roadmap and MVP scope, working closely with the Head of Product, and make the day-to-day trade-offs between speed and quality to get it launched.
- Own the unit economics. Track and improve the app’s unit economics (ARPU, LTV, CAC, and payback period), run monetization experiments, and work with Growth on paywall, pricing, and packaging decisions, so you always know whether growth is sustainable and profitable, not just fast.
- Build on what already works. Make the most of the shared capabilities, data, and learnings from across Welltech’s apps.
- Turn hunches into proof. Design and run experiments focused on activation. You’ll always know what’s actually working, not just what feels right.
- Reimagine how content gets discovered. Define modular, quick-access experiences that go beyond long-form-only browsing and meet users where they are, not where the content library assumes they’ll be.
- Make big ideas ship. Partner day-to-day with engineering, design, data, and marketing to turn priorities into delivered features, keeping everyone aligned on goals and metrics.
- Prototype, build, and ship faster. Build working prototypes yourself, using AI tools and agents where they help, to test ideas before engineering invests in full implementation. You’ll also have the opportunity to build selected new features directly into the app code using AI agents, working within the existing tech stack and development practices. Engineers will review and approve code changes, merges, and subsequent release steps to ensure quality and maintainability.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Direct-to-consumer, mobile-first track record: a proven history of building and scaling these products, ideally somewhere that lived and died by retention, not just downloads
- Performance marketing partnership: real experience working alongside it. You understand what it’s brilliant at, and exactly where product has to pick up the slack
- Proven impact: a track record of shipping features that measurably moved activation, engagement, or retention, not just shipped, but proven
- Unit economics and monetization: a solid understanding of subscription unit economics (ARPU, LTV, CAC, payback period, and paywall conversion), and experience using them to shape product decisions and judge whether growth is sustainable and profitable
- Data fluency: experience with SQL and a product analytics tool such as Amplitude or Mixpanel to build funnels, analyze cohorts, and measure the impact of product changes
- Communication and stakeholder instincts: you can bring marketing and engineering into the same room and actually get alignment
- AI fluency: comfortable enough with AI tools to turn a rough idea into something tangible on your own. You don’t need to wait for engineering to know if a concept has legs
- Scale-up or startup background: forged in environments where you’re energized by speed, experimentation, and metrics, not slowed down by them

We have a deep aversion to making things that already exist and to ads that feel like ads.
We are looking for an experienced Associate Creative Director, Art Director to help us create innovative, human and ridiculously entertaining work. In this role you will often work as a team with a copywriter partner, but you’ll also collaborate with designers, writers, marketers and engineers across the org. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Be a highly conceptual thinker with strong storytelling and design skills.
- Develop big ideas and bring them to life through every stage of production.
- Own large and small brand projects and campaigns from kickoff to completion, often balancing multiple projects at once.
- Be a maker-owner, but also a director-delegator, and find the right balance between those two roles for each project.
- Provide art direction on visual design for integrated brand campaigns and projects of various scales and types – from film, social, digital, to interactive experiences.
- Be a creative and strategic thinker who can see how creativity can solve business problems.
- Use AI in a variety of ways. Whether it’s moving ideas into functional prototypes, drafts, mockups or animatics that can be evaluated more quickly, or developing and refining AI workflows for internally created assets.
- Present work in a clear, passionate and dynamic way, championing the creative and vision to internal stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with outside production partners when necessary.
Skills You Bring
- 6-10+ years of experience as an Art Director (agency experience preferred, but not necessary).
- Ability to concept and art direct, developing storyboards, comps or animatics without assistance from the Design team
- Extensive experience with integrated campaigns, from strategic development through creative development and delivery
- Production experience across all platforms - film, digital, social, and print
- Well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite and able to be a hands-on creative delivering comps, layouts, and assets across all media types as well as give direction to studio designers where applicable
- Familiarity with AI image and video generation tools.
- A truly collaborative creative approach.
- Give and receive constructive feedback in a respectful manner
- Travel for production when necessary.

Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.
During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Team
The Semantic Layer team owns the systems that turn dbt models into trusted, reusable business metrics. At the heart of this is
MetricFlow
— the open-source semantic engine that powers the dbt Semantic Layer. MetricFlow lets data teams define metrics once in code and consume them consistently across BI tools, notebooks, AI agents, and downstream applications.
This team is the steward of MetricFlow as an open-source project: shipping releases, reviewing community contributions, evolving the query compiler, and ensuring it integrates cleanly with the broader dbt ecosystem. You'll work at the intersection of language design, query compilation, and distributed data execution — solving problems that directly shape how thousands of organizations measure their business.
About the Role
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Semantic Layer team in Bangalore. You'll be a core contributor to MetricFlow — designing features, optimizing query generation, hardening the open-source codebase, and partnering with the community of contributors and adopters around it. This is a high-ownership role: you'll write production code, drive technical decisions, and help shape the long-term architecture of one of the most important projects in the modern data stack.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and maintain core features of MetricFlow, including metric definitions, query compilation, dimensional modeling, and SQL generation across multiple data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, and others).
Own MetricFlow as an open-source project — triage issues, review external pull requests, manage releases, and engage the community on GitHub and in Slack.
Collaborate with engineers across dbt Cloud, dbt Core, and the Semantic Layer service to ensure MetricFlow integrates seamlessly with the rest of the dbt ecosystem.
Improve performance, reliability, and observability of metric query execution at scale.
Partner with product, design, and developer-relations teammates to translate customer and community feedback into shipped improvements.
Write clear technical documentation, RFCs, and design docs that raise the bar for how the team thinks and ships.
Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, and technical guidance.
Skills We're Looking For
Strong professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record of shipping production systems.
Deep proficiency in
Python
, including modern typing, testing practices, and packaging.
Strong SQL fundamentals and a working understanding of how analytical query engines and data warehouses execute queries.
Experience designing systems that involve parsing, compilation, or transformation — for example: query planners, DSL compilers, type systems, or rule-based engines.
Solid grasp of software design principles: clean APIs, modularity, testability, and backwards compatibility.
Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain complex tradeoffs clearly to engineers, PMs, and external community members.
Experience collaborating in a distributed, asynchronous team environment.
Bonus Skills (Optional)
Prior experience contributing to or maintaining a popular open-source project.
Familiarity with dbt, MetricFlow, LookML, Cube, or other semantic-layer technologies.
Background in data warehousing internals, query optimization, or analytical SQL dialects.
Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and release engineering for Python libraries.
Exposure to building developer-facing APIs, SDKs, or CLIs.
