Workplace: Hybrid
The role & impact
As an Engineering Manager in our Machine Learning & AI team, you'll lead a high-performing, inclusive team of engineers building and operating AI-powered experiences and capabilities across Xero. The team's work spans traditional machine learning, from predictive models and intelligent automation through to LLM-powered and agentic AI experiences that bring new ways for customers to interact with and get value from Xero.
- You'll lead engineering across a broad range of technology surfaces, from customer-facing AI experiences and intelligent product workflows to the backend services, platforms and infrastructure that power them. You'll help turn research, models and emerging AI capabilities into reliable, secure and scalable production products that make a real difference for millions of small businesses.
- You'll balance predictable delivery with a relentless focus on engineering quality and system health, building our maturity across MLOps, LLMOps, observability, evaluation and the operational practices needed to run AI systems in production. As AI continues to evolve, you'll also champion AI-native engineering practices and help your team adapt how we design, build, test and operate software.
- Working closely with senior individual contributors, including staff and principal engineers, you'll help shape technical direction while focusing on team growth, delivery excellence and sustainable engineering practices. This is a role for someone who wants to build both the systems and the people that enable Xero to deliver AI-powered products at scale.
The team & how they connect
You'll join Xero's Data & AI organisation, within the AI Products division, reporting to the GM of ML Engineering. The team partners closely with Applied Science, Data Engineering, Product and other engineering teams to bring AI capabilities from research and experimentation into production.
Our scope goes beyond building and serving models. We build the end-to-end engineering capabilities that bring AI to life in Xero's products, spanning traditional ML-powered automation and predictions, conversational AI assistants, LLM-powered workflows and agentic experiences. This means working across the full stack, integrating AI into customer experiences and product workflows while building the front end & backend services, platforms and infrastructure needed to make those experiences safe, reliable and scalable.
It's a collaborative, evolving space where you'll help translate advances in ML and generative AI into practical customer outcomes, while building the engineering foundations to support the next generation of AI-native products.
The team is currently working on
- Production ML and AI engineering: Building and operating the platforms, services and practices that support traditional ML models, generative AI and agentic systems in production.
- JAX (Just Ask Xero): Powering Xero's conversational GenAI assistant and evolving the underlying capabilities to support increasingly sophisticated, context-aware and agentic experiences.
- Intelligent financial workflows: Developing capabilities such as Automated Bank Reconciliation and smart document capture, using ML and AI to match transactions, extract information from bills and receipts, and automate complex tasks.
- XeroForce: Building the platform for AI-powered workflows, enabling agents to plan and execute complex tasks across Xero’s products and supporting reliable, reusable agentic experiences at scale.
- End-to-end AI product experiences: Integrating AI into customer-facing experiences and product workflows, alongside the backend services, orchestration and infrastructure that make them work.
Where and how you can work
We support a flexible working model that empowers you to balance your professional and personal life. You'll have the option to work in a hybrid capacity, combining the focus of remote work with the collaboration of our office spaces and team boost days to foster connection and alignment.
Here are some of the things we're looking for, for this role
- You'll bring a strong track record of leading, coaching and developing engineers, building team capability and creating an environment where people can do their best work.
- You have strong technical judgement across architecture, system design and engineering trade-offs, and can guide decisions across a broad and evolving technology landscape.
- You've translated business goals into executable engineering plans, balancing near-term delivery with long-term technical health and maintainability.
- You're experienced in delivering roadmaps predictably in fast-paced, evolving environments, navigating ambiguity and adapting as priorities and technology change.
- You understand what it takes to build and operate production-grade software, from customer-facing experiences and backend services through to distributed systems, platforms and infrastructure.
- You stay hands-on when it counts, comfortable writing, reviewing or debugging production code to unblock your team, support an incident or help resolve a complex technical challenge.
- Experience with machine learning, generative AI or AI-powered products is a bonus rather than a requirement. You don't need to be an ML specialist, but genuine curiosity about the space and an appetite to learn how these technologies are changing software engineering will help you thrive here.
Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.

Workplace: Hybrid
The role
You will lead the design and implementation of large-scale, production-grade distributed systems that power AI features for millions of daily users. You'll own the architecture decisions that keep our systems flexible, cost-effective, and robust, direct strategy for distributed systems, and manage technical debt across the AI Products estate.
Beyond architecture, your impact lies in lifting the technical capability of the entire AI Products team. You will champion engineering excellence, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across Xero to enhance data usability - applying modern AI research, including Large Language Models, only once it can be engineered into reliable, production-grade systems.
The team
You will join the AI Products group, a diverse team of scientists, engineers, product managers, and analysts within our broader Data & Science division. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll partner closely with Applied Scientists to build the interfaces and harnesses that safely and reliably transition models from research into production. Together, this collaborative team reduces toil and delivers beautiful, data-driven insights for small businesses.
Where and how you can work
Xero offers a flexible hybrid working model designed to blend the collaboration of office life with the autonomy of remote work. You will have access to our modern office spaces, with expectations around office days and collaborative 'boost days' aligned to help your team connect and ship great code effectively.
Here are some of the things we are looking for
- 5+ years building and operating production Python (or equivalent language) services at scale - this is a software engineering role first; strong system design and coding proficiency are non-negotiable
- A track record of owning services or pipelines in production, including operational/on-call responsibility, incident response, and managing technical debt over time
- Deep understanding of distributed processing principles (Spark, Dask, or similar) alongside strong SQL capabilities
- Demonstrated experience integrating ML models or LLM-based features into production systems - you don't need a research background, but you should be comfortable working alongside Applied Scientists to productionize their work
- Familiarity with ML tooling such as MLFlow, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, and data orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect, is valued but production engineering depth matters more than research exposure
- Nice to have: prior experience applying or fine-tuning LLMs in a product context, though this is not a substitute for the core software engineering bar above
Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.

Reporting to the APAC Marketing Director, you will own the end-to-end execution of key marketing programmes—from event strategy and audience acquisition to on-site experiences, post-event follow-up and pipeline impact. - Identify, test and scale new growth opportunities, including new verticals, audiences, partnerships, event formats and paid or organic channels.
- Develop strong regional campaign messaging and creative copy, and help build local content assets—including case studies, white papers, blogs, thought-leadership articles and event materials.
- Support localised product marketing initiatives and ensure regional programmes reflect market needs.
- Measure programme performance rigorously, translating results into clear recommendations and continuous improvement.
What we are looking for
- 4+ years of B2B marketing experience, with a strong track record in event marketing and demand generation.
- Experience managing events end to end, from strategy, planning and execution through to follow-up, measurement and reporting.
- A growth mindset: you are curious, commercially minded and always looking for smarter ways to create impact.

- Experience working in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment, with the resilience and adaptability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage several workstreams, stakeholders and deadlines at once.
- Experience with Google Analytics, marketing automation platforms and CRM tools.

Why this role exists
Our ML and analytics teams already work on fraud detection and risk analysis. This role owns the backend that turns their signals into reliable protections across accounts, credits, payments, and generation. You'll integrate risk checks into product flows, build enforcement services and operator tools, and make sure controls work correctly in production. We're looking for an engineer we can trust to take a backend problem from an unclear starting point to a working solution.
What you'll actually do
- Risk integrations: connect existing ML scores and risk signals to account creation, credit usage, payments, and generation flows, with clear timeouts and fallback behavior.
- Enforcement services: implement configurable rules, rate limits, account restrictions, and credit or payment controls with consistent behavior across services.
- Operator tooling: build APIs and workflows for reviewing cases, inspecting decision history, and safely applying or reversing restrictions.
- Production reliability: handle retries, duplicate events, concurrent requests, and safe rollouts; add monitoring and audit trails so failures can be traced and fixed.
- Work in other teams’ codebases to add signals or interventions without hurting their stability or architecture.
- Ownership: clarify the control with ML, analytics, and operations → scope the smallest useful implementation → ship → verify production behavior and review impact with the team. Our release cycle is days, not quarters, so your first shipped protection happens fast.
Must-haves
1. You've taken a difficult problem from an unclear starting point to a working system used in production, and can explain your own decisions, contribution, and results.
2. You can build reliable backend services: APIs, data models, queues, transactions, idempotency, and concurrency. You can integrate external services and debug failures across the request and event lifecycle.
3. You choose the next steps, remove blockers, and ask for help when needed. You cut scope to test an idea, adapt from evidence, and keep working through difficult problems.
4. You work with ML, analytics, and operations to turn risk requirements into clear backend behavior. You use operator feedback and customer cases to improve controls and learn unfamiliar systems quickly.
5. You take feedback, change your mind when the evidence changes, and do the work the team needs. You share knowledge and responsibility so others can operate and extend what you build.
Who this is not for
- You prefer problems where requirements stay stable after launch.
- You prefer work centered on training models or producing analysis rather than building and operating backend services.
Nice to have
- Fraud prevention, payments risk, or platform abuse experience.
- Integrating risk-scoring services or building rules engines and rate limiters.
- Case management, appeals, and risk operations tooling.
- Familiarity with Stripe.
- Experience building real-time scoring, graph-based account linkage systems.
- Python/Go experience.
Interview process
1. Recruiter screen: role expectations, logistics, and fit.
2. Technical interview: a difficult system you shipped, what you personally decided and built, and how your work made the team more capable without leaving it dependent on you.
3. Additional technical interview, if needed: a deeper discussion of technical skills and open questions.
4. Product fit interview: take an existing risk signal and an operator need, scope a backend protection, and work through failure cases and effects on legitimate customers.
5. Offer.
What we offer
Competitive base in USD, equity, relocation support, and ownership of protections that preserve both company revenue and customer trust.

Why this role exists
Higgsfield builds tools for AI creators: creative workflows, collaborative projects in Cinema Studio, and a community for sharing work. We need a backend engineer who combines deep database and architecture expertise with the initiative to own product outcomes, from the first idea to production.
What you'll actually do
- Build AI creation workflows, Cinema Studio collaboration, and community features: sharing, discovery, contests, profiles, and follows.
- Own features and bugs through release and follow-up. Define API contracts and coordinate frontend work to deliver the complete feature.
- Deliver responsive UX: live progress, timely updates, and clear failure recovery, even when it takes more engineering effort.
- Remove database and service bottlenecks under high traffic; improve correctness, latency, and reliability.
- Define success metrics, build dashboards and alerts, and track adoption and system health after launch.
Must-haves
1. Deep database expertise: data modeling, indexes, query plans, partitioning, transactions, and locking. You diagnose production bottlenecks and understand the trade-offs behind your fixes.
2. Strong architecture judgment: service boundaries, APIs, asynchronous workflows, caching, and failure handling. Hands-on Kubernetes and CI/CD experience, from design and testing to deployment and debugging.
3. A track record of shipping and operating backend systems across multiple projects, including high-traffic workloads. You can explain your decisions and measurable results.
4. API security: authentication, object-level authorization, and tenant isolation. You prevent IDOR in reads and writes, including resource IDs in request bodies, and test access across users and workspaces.
5. You've built or studied social networks and collaborative tools, and can explain design trade-offs in feeds, follow graphs, notifications, sharing permissions, real-time sync, and concurrent edits.
6. High agency and ownership: you find worthwhile problems, propose improvements, remove blockers, and follow through without waiting for assignments.
7. Low ego: you welcome direct feedback, admit mistakes, change your mind with evidence, and help wherever the team needs you.
8. Ambition and optimism: hard goals and rapid growth energize you. You challenge assumptions constructively and commit to making ambitious ideas work.
9. Energy for an intense pace, shifting priorities, and urgent launches or production issues that can require work outside regular hours.
Our tech stack
- Languages and frameworks: Python (FastAPI), Go (Gin), and TypeScript (React/Next.js on the frontend).
- Data: PostgreSQL and Redis; analytical databases such as BigQuery or ClickHouse.
- Messaging: Kafka, Amazon SQS, and RabbitMQ; event-driven services and asynchronous workers.
- AWS: S3, DynamoDB, ECR, and Secrets Manager.
- Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes on Amazon EKS, Helm, Argo CD, and GitHub Actions.
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Sentry.
4. Product fit interview: turn a user problem into a small first release, decide what to leave out, and explain how feedback would change the solution.
5. Offer.
What we offer
Competitive base in USD, equity, relocation support, and ownership of product experiences that directly shape how people create with AI.

Support external audit and group-level audit requests: prepare PBC lists, schedules, and reconciliations.
Follow documented controls and flag exceptions or gaps. Contribute to SOPs and process improvements as we build a controlled environment suited to a regulated entity.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CRC registration is a plus).
3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in financial services, fintech, crypto, or big 4.
Solid knowledge of IFRS and BR GAAP/CPC. Familiarity with tax is a plus.
Hands-on experience with month-end closing, reconciliations, and AP processes.
Strong attention to detail, a sense of ownership, and the discipline to document your work.
Intermediate-to-advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups); Power Query is a plus.
Hands-on, responsible use of AI tools to improve speed and quality of work, while validating outputs and protecting sensitive data.
Professional proficiency in English: you will work daily with international teams and prepare documentation for the group in English.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with international teams across time zones.
Nice to Have
Experience in an institution regulated by the BCB or familiarity with COSIF.
Exposure to crypto or digital assets, or interest in learning about them.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an Employment Counsel to join Ramp's Legal team. This is a generalist employment role with broad scope. You will partner directly with People, Talent, Total Rewards, Finance, Tax, Equity Admin, Compliance, and business leaders, and you will manage outside counsel in jurisdictions where we do not hold the expertise in house. We are a small, high-leverage team supporting a company that moves quickly, so you will cover a lot of ground and be trusted to run matters independently.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Day-to-day employment counseling: Advise People partners and managers on hiring, worker classification, compensation, leaves and accommodations, performance management, discipline, separations, and more
- Immigration and global mobility: Collaborate with the People team on the immigration program, including work authorization outside the U.S. Set and communicate the sponsorship policy, manage outside immigration counsel and case volume, and partner with Talent on offer-stage decisions. - Disputes: Handle demand letters, agency charges, arbitrations, and litigation with outside counsel
- Agreements and templates: Own offer letters, employment agreements, separation and release agreements, contractor and consultant agreements, restrictive covenants, and the local-law variants of each

- Hands-on experience with U.S. business immigration and global mobility, including running a sponsorship program and managing immigration counsel at volume
- Demonstrated ability to independently run multiple time-sensitive matters
- Exceptional written and verbal communication. You can turn an employment law question into guidance a manager can act on in one reading
- High judgment on sensitive and confidential matters, and the steadiness to advise on them under time pressure
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and processes are still being built, and a bias toward action
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience at a fintech, payments, or regulated financial services company
- Experience standing up employment infrastructure in a new country, including EOR-to-entity transitions and works council or employee representative consultation

BUILDING THE FUTURE OF OPEN FINANCE
Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.
THE TEAM
xStocks brings real-world assets on-chain as tokenized securities that are regulated, fully-backed, and tradable across multiple blockchains. Built within Payward, the xStocks team runs the infrastructure that issues, custodies, and settles these instruments across EVM, Solana, TON, Tron, and more. The platform moves real value, so security is not a feature bolted on at the end. It is a property of everything the team ships. This is a hybrid engineering and security seat built for someone who is genuinely both: you ship products alongside the engineering team when the security queue is quiet, and you own security work end to end when it lands. You report into engineering and partner closely with the Payward security, CISO, and compliance functions.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Own security deliverables end to end. Coordinate and review smart-contract audits, respond to security questionnaires and due-diligence requests, support CISO and compliance initiatives, and turn findings into tracked, closed-out fixes.
- Run offensive assessments against our own platforms. Pentest the web apps, APIs, backend services, and on-chain components, and build the tooling to do it repeatedly rather than once.
- Continuously assess posture. Threat-model new and existing systems, review architecture and key-management flows, and maintain a living view of the risks and their mitigations.
- Review code for security. Be a default reviewer on changes touching auth, cryptography, custody, signing, and fund movement across our chains.
- Harden the platform. Improve secrets handling, IAM and least-privilege, dependency and supply-chain hygiene, and detection and logging for security-relevant events.
- Secure custody and signing workflows. Review and harden transaction signing flows, MPC and HSM integrations, signer permissions, admin roles, approval policies, and break-glass procedures.
- Contribute to product engineering. Pick up regular backlog work in TypeScript so you stay close to the codebase you are defending.
- Support incidents. Help with detection, triage, response, and post-mortems, and feed the lessons back into the program.
WHAT YOU BRING
- An engineer first. You write and review production code comfortably, TypeScript and Node.js in our stack, and you understand systems deeply enough to break them.
- Strong application and infrastructure security fundamentals. The OWASP-class vulnerability landscape, authn and authz, injection, SSRF, supply-chain risk, and secure design. You have done real offensive work in pentesting, vuln research, or red-team.
- Applied cryptography and blockchain security. Symmetric and asymmetric primitives, hashing, signatures, and key management, plus the security model of EVM, Solana, and ideally TON or Tron. You can read a smart contract and reason about how it fails.
- Ownership. You can take an ambiguous security item, an audit, a questionnaire, or an incident, and drive it to closure without being managed through it.
- Clear communication. You can explain a risk to engineers, to a CISO, and to an auditor, and tailor the message to each.
- An automation instinct. You do not want to catch the same issue manually twice, so you turn findings into tests, alerts, controls, documentation, or platform improvements.
- Risk judgment. You can tell a theoretical issue from a material one, and communicate severity, likelihood, impact, and remediation tradeoffs clearly.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience commissioning or remediating third-party smart-contract audits.
- Familiarity with custody and signing infrastructure such as HSMs, MPC, and ForDefi-style providers, and with on-chain transaction security.
- Cloud security depth in GCP or AWS, IAM, and container and runtime hardening.
- Detection engineering and security observability, including SIEM and log-based detections.
- Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, or GWAPT.
- Prior work in a regulated fintech or tokenization/DeFi environment.
Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
