About The Opportunity
We are building the foundational data infrastructure that powers one of the world's leading crypto exchanges. As a
Big Data Platform Engineer
, you will design, build, and evolve the core platform services that enable hundreds of data engineers and analysts to move fast and ship reliable pipelines. You will be at the forefront of our AI agent initiative — embedding LLM-driven capabilities directly into the platform layer so that scheduling, cost optimization, and incident response increasingly run autonomously.
What You’ll Be Doing
Platform Core:
Design and operate large-scale distributed data systems
Own the big data compute and storage infrastructure (MaxCompute/ODPS, Hologres, Spark)
Build and maintain multi-site task orchestration that dynamically selects engines and enforces policy
Drive reliability and performance improvements across batch and real-time pipelines
AI Integration:
Build the AI-native platform layer
Develop and expose MCP (Model Context Protocol) tool interfaces so AI agents can interact with platform APIs
Build the scheduling and cost-optimization agents that auto-tune resource allocation and alert severity
Instrument platform telemetry to feed AI-driven SLA monitoring and anomaly detection
Design context retrieval pipelines (RAG / vector search) for SQL code and config knowledge bases
Tooling & DX:
Evolve the developer experience
Own the internal data development platform — IDE integrations, code review automation, deployment tooling
Build APIs-first tools (backfill, ingestion automation) designed for future MCP integration
Collaborate with data warehouse and service teams to define platform contracts
Ops
& Governance:
Drive operational excellence
Establish SLA benchmarks, cost metrics, and latency dashboards as AI optimization targets
Build automated incident response and root-cause analysis pipelines
Define and enforce infrastructure policies across multi-cloud environments
AI Agent Ownership — Platform Tier
Scheduling Agent: auto-configure task dependencies, engine selection, cost/performance trade-offs, and alert tiers
Operations Agent: detect pipeline latency, performance degradation, and schema drift; trigger remediation
Incident Response Agent: trace SLA breaches to root cause, assign accountability, generate post-mortems
MCP Tool Layer: design and maintain the cross-platform tool interfaces that all agents call into
What We Look For In You
5+ years of experience building large-scale data platforms (Hadoop/Spark/Flink or equivalent)
Deep expertise in distributed storage and compute systems (MaxCompute, Hologres, ClickHouse, Hive)
Strong software engineering skills in Java, Scala, or Python; experience with API-first design
Hands-on experience with task scheduling systems (Airflow, DolphinScheduler, or in-house equivalents)
Solid understanding of multi-cloud architectures and cost governance
Familiarity with LLM integration patterns: tool calling, RAG pipelines, context management
Experience with MCP or similar agent-tool frameworks is a strong plus
Passion for building systems that make other engineers 10x more productive
Perks & Benefits
Competitive total compensation package
L&D programs and education subsidy for employees' growth and development
Various team building programs and company events
Wellness and meal allowances
Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants
More that we love to tell you along the process!

Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel, Financial Partnerships & Regulatory
Department: Legal
Reports to: Head of Legal
Location: APAC
About Codex
Codex is building the infrastructure for stablecoin-based cross-border payments — moving money faster, cheaper, and more transparently than the legacy financial system. Backed by Circle, Coinbase, Dragonfly, Wintermute, and Cumberland, we're a small team solving hard problems at the intersection of crypto and global payments.
The Role
Codex's product offering and financial partnership network is expanding rapidly — new payment providers, banking partners, and liquidity providers globally. The legal work that underpins those relationships needs to move at the same pace as the business. This role exists to make that happen.
You'll own the legal workstream for financial partnerships end-to-end — reviewing and negotiating FP contracts, managing due diligence requests, and advising on the regulatory implications of new products, corridors, and partner structures. You'll work closely with the Head of Legal and report into the legal function, with tight day-to-day collaboration with the Financial Partnerships, Product and Compliance teams.
This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who has done this work before and can operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities
Financial Partnership Contracts
- Review, negotiate, and execute commercial agreements with financial partners — payment providers, banking counterparties, liquidity providers, and PSPs
- Own the contract lifecycle end-to-end: preparing markups, tracking open issues, coordinating with counterparties, and driving to execution without losing momentum
- Maintain and update standard form FP agreements as the regulatory and commercial environment evolves
- Advise the Financial Partnerships and Sales teams on commercial terms, entity routing, and deal structuring across multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction arrangements
Financial Partner RFIs & Due Diligence
- Manage inbound legal and regulatory due diligence requests from financial partners — collating documentation, preparing regulatory status summaries, and coordinating with Compliance on AML/CFT-related queries
- Prepare and maintain legal memos, licensing summaries, and corporate documentation packages for partners requiring clarity on Codex's regulatory status and entity structure
- Ensure Codex's outbound KYB documentation to financial partners is accurate, current, and responsive
Product Regulatory Analysis
- Analyse the regulatory implications of new products, payment corridors, and client segments before they go live — identifying licensing requirements, restrictions, and structural considerations across relevant jurisdictions
- Advise Product and Engineering on the legal constraints that affect feature design, entity routing, and market entry sequencing
- Monitor regulatory developments across key jurisdictions (APAC, LATAM, EMEA) and brief the legal and business teams on material changes
What We're Looking For
- Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of experience, ideally combining a first-tier law firm foundation with in-house experience at a fintech payments company
- Deep expertise in financial partnership contracts and payments regulation — this is a domain specialist role, not a generalist one
- Comfortable operating autonomously: you can pick up a complex contract, identify the issues, and drive it to execution without needing significant direction
- Commercially aware — you understand that legal is an enabler of the business, not a gate, and you give advice accordingly
- Meticulous and detail-oriented, with the communication skills to translate complex legal positions into clear guidance for non-lawyers
- Based in APAC or a time zone that overlaps meaningfully with the team
Nice to Have
- Experience across multiple APAC and other regions and familiarity with the regulatory frameworks governing cross-border payments and digital assets in the region
- Exposure to stablecoin or digital asset regulation
- Prior experience as a solo or early legal hire at a fast-growing fintech

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
