About the team
The Control Plane Platform team is building the shared foundation that every product in ClickHouse Cloud is built and shipped on. We give ClickHouse engineering teams one place to own and deploy their product, remove the overhead of rebuilding common plumbing, and keep the customer experience consistent as the number of integrating teams grows. The team owns API gateways and API standards, shared platform services, deployment and infrastructure patterns, testing and CI, local developer experience and Control Plane observability.
About the role
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform team. This is a high-impact, high-trust role at the center of our Cloud product, combining people leadership, technical direction, product thinking, and operational ownership while maintaining the reliability customers expect.
You’ll work hand-in-hand with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Support, and engineering teams across ClickHouse.
This role goes beyond engineering leadership. Together with your team, you’ll help shape how new products and teams will integrate and deploy their applications in ClickHouse Cloud.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team - recruit to a high bar, set crisp expectations, give direct feedback and career development, and manage performance — while fostering a healthy, inclusive environment built on empathy, psychological safety, trust, and a high technical bar.
- Own outcomes across the platform surface: API gateways and API standards, shared platform services (event bus, notifications, feature flags, websockets, audit records), deployment and infrastructure patterns, CI and testing, local developer experience, disaster recovery, and Control Plane observability.
- Treat the integrating teams as your customers and measure success by their delivery velocity and adoption of the platform, not only by what your team ships.
- Guide architecture and help senior engineers make explicit, sound tradeoffs. land cross-cutting migrations, deprecations, and contract changes across teams without stalling product delivery.
- Jump into designs and code for complex areas - gateway routing and auth/RBAC enforcement, spec-driven code generation, event delivery semantics and idempotency, multi-region rollout safety.
- Build the culture of operational excellence: Own SLOs, reliability, on-call quality, and cost-efficiency for k8s-hosted, multi-tenant services across cloud regions.
- Systematize support, reduce toil, and build self-serve/auto-healing capabilities - golden-path templates and generators, auto-healing, and documentation that gets a new team integrated in days rather than weeks.
- Shape the platform vision, turn it into a roadmap, sequence bets for business impact, and ship fast with tight feedback loops — including writing the RFCs that build cross-org consensus before big changes land
What you bring
- 8+ years in software engineering and 3+ years managing software engineers with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong talent.
- Experience leading a platform or infrastructure team whose customers are other engineering teams — you've driven adoption and cross-org migrations through influence and good tooling rather than mandate.
- Experience leading distributed global teams, fostering an inclusive and autonomous culture, and creating clarity across time zones.
- Experience building scalable, highly available, and secure cloud-based infrastructure in AWS (EKS, SQS, DocumentDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, Lambdas) with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm) and progressive delivery (Argo Rollouts or similar).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), including patterns for hosting many independently deployed applications in a shared cluster.
- Familiarity with API platform work: OpenAPI-driven contracts, API gateways, and the shared concerns they centralize — authentication, RBAC, rate limiting, versioning, and deprecation.
- A track record of decomposing a monolith into independently deployable services without stalling product delivery.
- Technical credibility to engage deeply in architecture and incidents without owning daily implementation.
- Hands-on: you still enjoy diving into code/designs for complex or critical areas, reviewing code, and guiding via feedback.
- Strong execution judgment across ambiguity, parallel workstreams, risk, and long-term system health.
Nice to have
- Experience with large TypeScript/Node monorepos and the developer-experience problems that come with them: CI scale and flakiness, build and test times, local development environments, and code generation from specs.
- Designed and implemented strategies for load balancing, auto-scaling, disaster recovery, and failover for cloud environments.
- Experience building CI/CD at scale
- Experience with internal developer platforms: service catalogs, golden-path templates, and self-service app scaffolding.
- Proficiency with frontend frameworks (React).
- Experience making APIs consumable by AI agents — MCP servers, CLIs, or skills generated from API specs.
- Experience with ClickHouse
- Previous experience in developing analytics or data-intensive applications.
Why This Role
- Shape how all feature teams in ClickHouse Cloud develop and integrate with each other
- Operate with ownership, autonomy, and speed while keeping the company lean.
- Lead a technical team where correctness, performance, reliability, and developer experience all matter.

Check out our Careers https://careers.circle.so/ page for more about working at Circle.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The AI Quality engineering team at Circle owns the foundation for measuring, diagnosing, and improving the quality of Circle's AI-powered features. This team focuses on building the infrastructure to measure, diagnose, and improve production AI systems, rather than ML research or model training.
We're looking for a Lead Engineer to help us build out the evaluation frameworks, observability tooling, and diagnostic infrastructure that tell us whether our AI Agents are working well, where to improve them, and how to make them faster and more cost-efficient.
This is a hands-on player-coach role. You’ll also lead and manage the AI Quality engineering team, with an ambitious and growing roadmap.
If you're excited about making AI systems work reliably, efficiently, and at scale, this is for you.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Build and own our evaluation infrastructure. Design the CI/CD pipelines, scorers, and datasets that tell us whether Circle's AI agents (planners, tool-callers, and sub-agents) are actually working, from a single tool call to a full multi-turn conversation.
- Diagnose exactly where quality breaks down. Trace failures across the agent pipeline including plan creation vs. execution, tool selection, tool trajectory in complex areas like workflows, site builder, and analytics. Turn what you find into prototypes that solve the issue or identify priorities for AI core engineering can help.
- Grow the datasets that make evaluation possible. Stand up annotation workflows and build out AI-generated and simulated conversations so we can cover more of the product faster than manual labeling alone.
- Run structured experiments across prompts, models, and the agent harness. Evaluate new and open-source models against our production baseline, build the framework we use to decide when to shift models, and chase cost and latency wins through model swaps, caching, and routing by plan complexity.
- Lead and grow the AI Quality engineering team. Set technical direction and manage day-to-day priorities, all while staying hands-on in the code yourself.
- Partner closely with AI Core engineering. Work with the engineers building Circle's AI products so they have real confidence that their changes are actually improving quality, not just shipping.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping production software, ideally including LLM-powered agents that take real actions in a product. You've worked on complex, tool-using systems (multiple tools, planning or orchestration, sub-agents) not just simple, single-turn assistants, and you can walk us through something you shipped and how you knew it was actually working.
- Comfortable in Ruby on Rails / Python or ready to pick them up quickly. Ruby on Rails is our production system and the foundation that Circle’s AI Agents are built on and proficiency in Python is a strong plus, especially for the data and evaluation side of the work.
- Experience building evaluation or observability infrastructure for ML/AI systems. You've built eval pipelines, scorers, dashboards, or CI/CD for evals before and have experience with evaluation frameworks like Braintrust, LangSmith, or similar.
- Experience designing datasets, annotation workflows, or labeling pipelines for ML/AI evaluation. You know how to turn raw examples into a dataset you can trust through human annotation, AI-generated data, or simulation.
- Learn fast, experiment aggressively, and thrive in a highly dynamic environment. You’ll need to be comfortable running a lot of experiments and letting the results settle the argument, including the ones that don't work (which will be many of them in the beginning).
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity. You’ll need to learn and pick up new technologies when projects require it.
- Strong alignment with our company values https://circle.so/careers.
- You are proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C2 https://magoosh.com/english-speaking/english-proficiency-levels-a-guide-to-determining-your-level/ / ILR Level 5 https://www.govtilr.org/.

ABOUT VOODOO
Voodoo is a consumer tech company founded in Paris in 2013, with one mission: entertain the world. Today we are 1,000 people, generating $1b+ in annual revenue, profitably. Our games and apps have passed 7 billion downloads and reach 200 million+ active users every month, making Voodoo the #3 mobile publisher worldwide in downloads, after Google and Meta. We were backed by Goldman Sachs, Tencent and GBL along the way.
This position is ideally Paris-based.
TEAM
For this position, you will be an integral part of a newly established internal studio, a dynamic and focused team dedicated to one of our most promising prototype in scale. This studio is specifically chartered to improve this high-potential game up to the successful and market-ready title it is meant to become.
You will be part of the team building Castle Busters, a turn-based multiplayer game, working alongside its client engineers and game designers as a full member of the game team. You will be part of a small group owning the backend that this game needs as its requirements become more specific and demanding.
You’ll also be plugged into Voodoo's shared gaming backend platform - the same architecture and patterns that power titles like Mob Control and Block Jam 3D - building on it and contributing back, in close collaboration with the wider backend team. You get the focus and ownership of a dedicated game engineer with the leverage and support of a battle-tested platform behind you.
This is a pivotal hire: Castle Busters is moving towards competitive multiplayer, which means moving game logic from the client to the server. You will be central to that transition.
ROLE
You will design and build the server-side foundation that takes Castle Busters from a client-authoritative game to a competitive, server-validated one. The current game computes everything on the device - progression, economy, and match outcomes alike, which won't hold up for competitive PvP. Your job is to change that.
Working closely with client developers and game designers from feature design through delivery, validation and iteration, you will:
- Build server-side validation for the metagame - currency, card upgrades, chest opens, and progression - staged by risk, replicating economy and reward logic on the server.
- Move toward server authority for competitive features, where game state lives in one place and can be trusted.

This position is Paris-based, with relocation support available.
TEAM
For this position, you will be an integral part of a newly established internal studio, a dynamic and focused team dedicated to one of our most promising prototype in scale. This studio is specifically chartered to improve this high-potential game up to the successful and market-ready title it is meant to become.
You will be part of the team building Draft Showdown, a turn-based multiplayer game, working alongside its client engineers and game designers as a full member of the game team.
This is a pivotal hire: Draft Showdown is moving towards competitive multiplayer, which means moving game logic from the client to the server. They are also implementing cheat detection safeguards to the game.
You will be central to that transition.
ROLE
You will design and build the server-side foundation that takes Draft Showdown from a client-authoritative game to a competitive, server-validated one.
- Implement and improve matchmaking and cheat detection safeguards for a Deterministic lockstep PvP architecture
- Design APIs and player-state management that the Unity client integrates against, and help shape how client and server split responsibilities.
The responsibilities are cross-functional, ranging from infrastructure, API design & coding all the way to client-side integration (we are using Golang).
To succeed in this role, you will need to have passion for everything you do. You love to write code that scales to millions of users, are skilled at requirements gathering, champion new tech initiatives & leverage existing solutions.

About the role
Perplexity's fraud prevention team protects our products, users, and infrastructure from fraud and abuse across the whole lifecycle: sign-up, authentication, payments, API usage, and product features. We build and operate a real-time decisioning platform together with the surrounding systems: data pipelines for detection and model training, integrations with product and payment systems, and internal tooling for investigation and response. As a software engineer on the team, you will own services end to end, from design to production operations, and work closely with fraud analysts, ML engineers, and product teams to make abuse expensive and legitimate usage frictionless.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate high-throughput, low-latency backend services for fraud detection and prevention
- Build data pipelines and real-time feature computation that power detections and ML models
- Collect and process trust signals
- Integrate fraud decisions into product, auth, and payment flows across Perplexity
- Own reliability of production services: observability, alerting, safe rollouts, incident response
- Build internal tooling for investigation, enforcement, and auditability
- Partner with fraud analysts to turn new abuse patterns into production detections quickly
Qualifications
- 5+ years building and operating high-throughput, latency-sensitive backend systems in production
- Strong systems programming skills; Rust, Go, or C++ experience preferred (we write Rust)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform and cloud infrastructure
- Solid data fundamentals: stream/batch computations, caching and storage trade-offs
- Pragmatic, ownership-driven approach: ship incrementally, measure, and make failures degrade safely
Nice to have
- Fraud prevention, anti-abuse, or payments-risk domain experience
- Experience serving ML models in production
- Client-side experience (web or mobile) for signal collection

An overview of this role
As an Engineering Manager, Gitaly at GitLab, you'll guide a deeply technical team focused on building, maintaining, and providing expertise on Gitaly, GitLab's Git data storage tier. The team's work spans development of Gitaly, support for teams across GitLab, new tooling, scalability improvements, new data formats, and ongoing maintenance of the Gitaly codebase.
This role is a good fit for you if you can guide senior and staff engineers through complex, long-horizon technical work while building a culture of technical rigor, clear accountability, and ownership. You'll help the team balance roadmap delivery with GitLab product and infrastructure priorities, especially as much of the team's work is centered on scaling Git storage and adjacent foundational work. Clear written communication and thoughtful technical judgment are central to how this team succeeds.
Project areas include:
Scaling Git storage
Gitaly-related infrastructure and foundational performance work
What you’ll do
Manage a team of senior and staff engineers working on Gitaly and Gitaly-related infrastructure.
Build a team culture where technical rigor, clear accountability, and ownership are the norm.
Drive execution on complex, long-horizon work across performance, scalability, maintainability, and core Gitaly architecture.
Guide the team in balancing roadmap delivery with GitLab product and infrastructure priorities.
Support your engineers' growth through feedback, mentoring, career development, and stretch opportunities.
Foster strong written communication and asynchronous alignment across a fully distributed team.
Partner with teams like Git and other stakeholders who rely on Gitaly expertise for performance, feature design, and roadmap clarity.
Represent the team credibly with cross-functional partners and in stakeholder conversations about Gitaly direction, performance, and scalability.
What you’ll bring
Experience managing engineering teams with direct reports, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
A management philosophy centered on building engineer agency and ownership, with credibility grounded in consistency, follow-through, and technical judgment.
Proven ability to guide highly specialized engineers through ambiguity, structured debate, high-stakes technical tradeoffs, and the realities of operating a service that is critical to GitLab.
Strong written communication and remote, asynchronous collaboration skills across distributed, multi-timezone teams. You're comfortable moving work forward in documents, issue threads, and asynchronous reviews, not just in meetings.
A track record of delivering under pressure on ambiguous, long-horizon technical projects with clear outcomes, and of reasoning from fundamentals about maintainability, technical debt, and long-term platform viability.
Hands-on background in version control systems, distributed systems, storage engines, or other low-level infrastructure domains, with the ability to engage credibly with systems code and architecture, ideally in Go or similarly performance-sensitive environments.
About the team
On the Gitaly team, we build, maintain, and provide expertise on Gitaly, GitLab's Git data storage tier. Our core work includes development of Gitaly, supporting teams across GitLab, and ensuring the long-term viability of the project. We are a deeply technical team that balances long-running technical work with practical delivery. Strong collaboration with partner teams is central to how we succeed.
