ABOUT THE ROLE
Millions of small businesses and their advisors use Xero reports and insights to decide what to do next. AI is changing how people understand their finances faster than any shift since the cloud, and Reporting & Insights is where Xero meets that change. Over the next few years we’re evolving reporting and insights for the agentic era, where customers ask an AI about their numbers as often as they open a Balance Sheet. As the senior technical leader for Reporting & Insights, you’ll set the multi-year technical direction, from the reports businesses file to the insights that tell them what to do next. You’ll also help hire the first Reporting & Insights engineers in Vancouver and decide how they work.
THE TECHNICAL CHALLENGES
Set a 3-year architecture across Reporting & Insights. Reporting and Xero Analytics run on a mix of modern services and systems that have grown with Xero over many years. You’ll define one target state across both, decide how they build on Xero’s data platform, and secure the investment to get there. You’ll design for high throughput, low latency and resilience, so reporting and insights scale with Xero’s largest and most complex customers.
Evolve the platform without breaking trust. Accountants file tax returns from these numbers, so correctness comes first. You’ll lead the evolution of the data foundations behind about 150 reports, sequenced across teams and organisational boundaries. Customers keep the numbers they trust, on foundations built for what comes next.
Make reporting and insights AI-native. AI changes what reporting and insights can be: answers to plain-language questions, insights that reach customers where they work, and analysis that once took an accountant hours. Every answer still has to reconcile to the ledger. You’ll define the foundations: how agents query financial data safely, how answers stay grounded and explainable, and how we prove correctness at scale. We want teams across Xero to build on what you create.
IMPACT
In your first six months you’ll own the Reporting & Insights architecture and set a direction for the data platform and the evolution of both products that engineering, Product and leadership back.
At twelve months you will have:
- Set a multi-year technical strategy for Reporting & Insights
- Delivered new foundations for the first major report families, setting Reporting & Insights up for its next phase of growth
- Opened Reporting & Insights to bigger businesses, with performance that scales to our largest customers
- Put shared foundations for AI-native reporting and insights into production
- Grown the Lead and Senior Engineers around you and raised the technical bar across the group
Beyond year one, you’ll shape where Reporting & Insights goes next, and help steer Xero’s wider data and AI direction alongside the leadership team.
OWNERSHIP
You’re the senior technical voice for Reporting & Insights. You own the multi-year technical strategy and target architecture, and you make the calls that cross team and domain boundaries. You shape the roadmap with the GM and Product, decide where we invest in foundational capabilities, and align teams across regions behind one direction. You stay hands-on where it counts: reference implementations, foundational frameworks and the hardest architecture problems
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll report to the GM of Engineering. You’ll partner with the engineering managers and teams across Reporting & Insights, who know these products and their data in depth. You’ll shape the product and AI roadmap with the Reporting & Insights Product leads. You’ll also work with Principal Engineers and platform teams across Xero, including the accounting core and data platform teams that own systems we depend on.
WHAT YOU BRING
Must-have:
- You’ve set technical strategy for a domain or portfolio over a 2 to 3 year horizon, and aligned multiple teams behind it.
- You’ve led the evolution of a large, high-traffic, correctness-critical system across organisational boundaries.
- You have depth in high-throughput, low-latency, resilient distributed systems and data-heavy architecture, and you still contribute hands-on where it matters.
- You connect external shifts, AI above all, to product and architecture strategy, and you know where LLMs and agents belong in a system.
- You grow leaders. You’ve mentored Lead and Senior Engineers into bigger roles, and your writing turns complex direction into decisions people act on.
Nice to have:
- Financial, reporting or analytics domain experience
- LLM or agent-based features in production
- .NET and AWS
- A presence in the wider tech community through talks, writing or open source
HOW WE WORK
We’re bold in our vision and pragmatic in execution, delivering useful improvements along the way rather than waiting for a large rewrite. We invest in AI to learn faster and focus effort on higher-value problems, while engineers stay accountable for what they ship. We use shared frameworks to avoid reinvention, leaving teams room to innovate. Engineers own their work, including quality, reliability, and on-call. Leaders set context and priorities, and engineers help shape the solutions.
WHERE WE WORK
We offer a hybrid model that blends the flexibility of working from home with the collaboration of the office, including designated boost days in our modern office spaces. This role is open to hybrid candidates in Vancouver, British Columbia, or San Mateo, California. We also welcome applications from candidates across Canada interested in relocating to Vancouver, and from remote candidates in Seattle, Washington.
OUR HIRING PROCESS
1. TX phone screen (45 minutes): a conversation with your Talent Specialist about your background, motivations and the role.
2. Technical assessments: a coding assessment and a systems design assessment, run through an independent third-party provider and based on real-world scenarios.
3. Technical deep dive (45–60 minutes): with a Principal Engineer and the hiring team. You'll walk through a past project you led, covering how you thought about it, executed it and led through its complexity.
4. Values / Future Proof Xero (45 minutes): how you show up day to day, aligned with Xero's values and capabilities such as adaptability, ownership, customer thinking and AI fluency.
5. LEADership (45–60 minutes): real examples of how you lead, influence and deliver in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, assessed against Xero's leadership principles
COMPENSATION & TOTAL REWARDS
At Xero, we value the impact and skills you bring to the team. We don’t just hire for a role; we invest in people. We believe in a Total Package philosophy - which means your value isn't just a single number on a paycheque. While base salary is a core component, we look at your compensation through a holistic lens that includes equity, performance incentives, and world-class benefits.
The expected base salary range for this role in:
- Washington, WA & San Mateo, CA: $287,000 - $320,000 USD
Individual pay is determined by various factors, including geography, level of experience, and the specific skills you bring to the role.
In addition to base pay, Xero’s roles are eligible for the following forms of variable compensation:
- Variable Pay: Permanent employees are eligible to participate in our annual bonus and equity (RSU) programs. You may also be eligible for performance-based cash or equity (RSUs) incentives depending on your role level, and company performance.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and 21 days PTO, 10 days of Wellbeing leave, 5 days of Xtra Leave, 1 volunteer day, 12 paid holidays, paid parental leave. Further information included on our Xero Perks https://careers.xero.com/inside-xero/benefits-wellbeing/ page
Xero uses AI to help screen applications based on job-related qualifications. These tools assist our recruiters but do not make automated hiring decisions. A human recruiter reviews all candidates before any hiring action is taken.

ClickHouse has a lot worth saying. The database has become a platform for real-time analytics, data warehousing, observability, and AI workloads. Many of the most interesting AI and software companies of the last few years run on it. Our founders and leaders hold clear, well-formed views on where data and AI are heading. And every week the customer base produces proof points most companies would build a campaign around. What we have not yet built is the function whose job it is to turn all of that into one story the market hears consistently, and from us.
We are looking for a Head of Story & Communications to build that function from the ground up. You'll own the company narrative: what ClickHouse should be known for, how the platform story gets told above the level of features, and how the proof we generate adds up to a thesis. And you'll build the machine that carries it into the world: the announcement calendar, press and media relationships across technology and business media, and executive platforms for our founders and leaders. This is a build role and a player-coach role. You won't inherit a team; you'll hire one as the function grows, directing our agency partners in the meantime and staying in the work yourself. You'll report to the VP of Global Marketing and work closely with the executive team, product marketing, and the people closest to our customers.
What You Will Be Doing
- Define what ClickHouse should be known for and turn it into a rolling narrative and communications strategy that the marketing and executive teams work from
- Build the communications machine: announcement calendar and tiering, press materials, holding statements, a reporter cadence, and launch amplification, directing agency partners and holding them to outcomes
- Own press and media relations across technology and business media, taking the ClickHouse story beyond the tech press and re-educating the market on the full platform
- Build executive platforms for our founders and leaders: the themes each owns, the moments and formats worth their time, and a clear way to evaluate inbound podcast, mainstage, and sponsored event opportunities
- Shape quarterly release moments and major launches so they earn attention and show up consistently across press, social, community, and the field
- Set the standard for how ClickHouse sounds in public: voice, quality bar, and the discipline that every published claim, number, and proof point is approved, current, and consistent
- Hire and lead the team as the function grows, and build the planning and review rhythm that keeps narrative, communications, and social aligned
What You Bring Along
- Experience building or rebuilding a communications function at a growth-stage infrastructure, developer, or data company
- A record of landing stories in tier-one business media as well as technology press, with the relationships and news judgment to do it again
- Experience working directly with a CEO and executive team: shaping their points of view, preparing them, and declining opportunities not worth their time
- Media-company operator instincts: you think in themes, arcs, and audiences
- Player-coach approach: you write and edit yourself, give useful feedback, and set the bar by example
- Comfort with a technical product and a technical audience, including credibility with engineers and developers
- Experience directing agencies to outcomes, with judgment about what belongs in-house
- Analytical grounding: you track what is landing, form a view on why, and use it to decide where to focus
PERKS
- Flexible work environment - ClickHouse is a globally distributed company and remote-friendly. We currently operate in over 25 countries.
- Healthcare - Employer contributions towards your healthcare.
- Equity in the company - Every new team member who joins our company receives stock options.
- Time off - Flexible time off in the US, generous entitlement in other countries.
- A USD$500 Home office setup if you’re a remote employee.
- Global Gatherings – We believe in the power of in-person connection and offer opportunities to engage with colleagues at company-wide offsites.
CULTURE - WE ALL SHAPE IT
As part of a rapidly scaling start-up, you will be instrumental in shaping our culture.

When you ship a new integration or improve SDK performance, thousands of developers benefit the same day — and they'll tell you about it in GitHub issues, on Twitter, and in our community channels. Everything you build is open source (MIT-licensed) and immediately visible.
The SDK is often the very first thing a developer touches when they try Langfuse, so your work directly shapes their first impression.
You will also have direct exposure to how cutting-edge LLM-applications are built. The users you serve are some of the best and most ambitious software engineers in the world and that leverage Langfuse to improve their applications. Deeply understanding the problems they solve will help you design the best possible SDK experience and along the way makes you an expert on LLM engineering yourself.
YOU WILL GROW AT LANGFUSE BY
- Owning our SDKs. We maintain SDKs in Python and TypeScript both built on OpenTelemetry. You'll be responsible for their reliability, performance, and developer experience. These SDKs run inside our users' production systems, which means they must never fail, must have minimal impact on CPU and memory, and must work flawlessly across every environment — from serverless functions to long-running agent loops. You'll think deeply about the exposed interfaces, error handling, batching, async flushing, and graceful degradation.
- Designing APIs that developers love. How are functions named, how are parameters structured, how are breaking changes communicated, how does the documentation read? Developer experience is a core differentiator for Langfuse and you'll own every detail of it. When we shipped the Python SDK v3 https://langfuse.com/changelog/2025-06-05-python-sdk-v3-generally-available and TypeScript SDK v4 https://langfuse.com/changelog/2025-08-28-typescript-sdk-v4-ga, both were full rewrites on OpenTelemetry — that's the kind of thoughtful, high-impact SDK work you'll lead. Apart from tracing, we also support core workflows of engineers building with LLMs with our SDKs, see our Experiment Runner SDK https://langfuse.com/docs/evaluation/experiments/experiments-via-sdk#experiment-runner-sdk for example.
- Integrating with every major AI framework: Langfuse integrates with 40+ frameworks and model providers: OpenAI SDK, Vercel AI SDK, AI SDK, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pydantic AI, OpenAI Agents, CrewAI, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, LiveKit, and many more. You'll maintain these integrations, ensure new Langfuse features are supported across all of them, and add new integrations as the ecosystem evolves. When a new framework gains traction, you'll be among the first to instrument it.
- Maintaining our OpenTelemetry endpoint: some users send traces directly to our OTLP endpoint https://opentelemetry.io/docs/specs/otlp/ instead of using our SDKs. You'll ensure this path is robust, well-documented, and supports the full range of Langfuse features. This also extends our language support to Java, Go, and any language with an OpenTelemetry SDK. You can work with the OpenTelemetry community to steer the GenAI conventions.
- Writing public documentation: you'll own the SDK docs, integration guides, and migration paths. At Langfuse, docs are part of our core product. When you ship a new SDK version or integration, the docs ship with it.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong engineer who gets excited about developer experience, API design, and writing code that runs reliably in other people's production systems
- Experience building or maintaining SDKs, client libraries, or developer tools — ideally in Python and/or TypeScript
- Deep understanding of performance: you know how to profile, benchmark, and minimize CPU/memory overhead in hot paths
- Someone who can manage projects themselves — you know how to develop strong conviction about what to build and how to ship it
- Thoughtful about versioning, backwards compatibility, and migration paths
- Interest in open source software and genuine excitement about talking to developers about their integration challenges
- Thrives in a small, accountable team where your output is visible and matters
- CS or quantitative degree preferred
Bonus points:
- Experience with OpenTelemetry internals or observability instrumentation
- Former founder or early startup experience
- Contributions to popular open source SDKs or developer tools
- ML/AI background or familiarity with the LLM framework ecosystem
No candidate checks all boxes. If you feel you are a good fit for this role, please go ahead and apply.

How we work with AI
We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.
This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. To us, this means we do ask that you join live interviews without using AI tools so we can get to know how you communicate, solve problems, and collaborate with others.
Our approach to work
We recognize the power of both in person collaboration and remote work. Some roles are designated as remote-first, with an expectation that individuals work from their homes majority of the time, while others are designated as in-office roles, with an expectation of being on-site on a regular basis. We recognize that certain roles benefit from regular, in-person connection to support collaboration, team cohesion, and customer engagement.
For all roles, occasional travel may be required. This includes things like: department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events are typically held in varying locations across Canada, USA and/or EMEA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.

BUILDING THE FUTURE OF OPEN FINANCE
Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.
THE TEAM
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world’s longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a small, dedicated growth and experimentation team within Krak, focused on accelerating acquisition, activation, engagement and trading activity across the Krak app. This is a frontend-leaning full-stack role: the majority of your work will be in React Native, supported by enough backend capability to take an experiment from idea to live without waiting on another team.
Rather than executing against a rigid roadmap, you’ll work closely with Product on a continuous pipeline of fast, lightweight experiments, owning each one from hypothesis through implementation, launch, measurement and iteration. The mandate is simple: find the highest-leverage opportunities to grow users and revenue, prove what works, and scale the winners – with direct, measurable impact on how millions of customers discover and use Kraken’s products.
The opportunity
- Build and ship consumer-facing features quickly in React Native and TypeScript, favouring small, high-velocity experiments over long-running projects.
- Own experiments end-to-end – hypothesis, design, build, launch, measurement and iteration – using platforms such as Statsig to test globally or within specific markets.
- Improve onboarding, activation and feature discovery to drive conversion, engagement and trading revenue, iterating rapidly on features that are already live.
- Build viral acquisition features and value-add growth features on top of Krak’s existing product offering.
- Contribute to backend services and APIs wherever an experiment requires it, so you can ship across the stack without being blocked. Our backend is primarily Rust; prior Rust experience is not expected, but enthusiasm for picking it up is.
- Read your own results, including trade-offs between conversion gains and other metrics, and decide whether to scale, iterate or kill – driving technical decisions autonomously amid evolving priorities and limited upfront planning.
What you bring
- 6+ years of software development experience building and shipping large-scale, consumer-facing applications. Strong, hands-on React and React Native experience is essential.
- Demonstrated experience running growth experiments at consumer-facing businesses, with measurable impact on conversion, activation, retention or revenue. This is a consumer growth role, so B2B or platform-only backgrounds are not a fit.
- Working backend proficiency: you can design and implement services and APIs yourself. We care about backend fundamentals rather than any particular language, and you should be open to working in Rust.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals, with hands-on experience across APIs, WebSockets and real-time systems, mobile performance, testing, and modern development workflows.
- Practical experience designing, running and analysing A/B tests – feature flags, statistical significance, product analytics, funnel and cohort data – with the judgement to act decisively on what the results show.
- End-to-end ownership of product features and a strong product engineering mindset, with the initiative and adaptability to operate with minimal direction amid ambiguity and frequently changing priorities.
Nice to haves
- Customer-facing product experience within fintech, digital banking, payments, trading or crypto.
- Hands-on experience with Statsig or a comparable experimentation platform, including regional and global rollouts.
- Rust experience, given our backend stack.
- SQL and self-serve analytics, so you can pull and interrogate your own data.
- AI fluency. Familiarity with how AI tools and patterns have fundamentally shifted your development workflow and problem-solving approach.
- Native mobile development (iOS/Android), distributed systems or microservices, or engineering within a hyperscaling consumer technology organisation.
Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.
We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
OUR COMMITMENT
Payward is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate the diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions, and unique perspectives that everyone brings to the table. We hire based on merit, seeking out people with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgeable about crypto.
We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Results are considered alongside experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision.
As an equal opportunity employer, we don't tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind, whether based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state, or local laws.

At Finom, we’re not just redefining the entrepreneurial experience — we’re empowering our employees to make a real difference. Your work matters, and your impact extends far beyond product metrics. We nurture innovation and an inspiring work environment where bold ideas thrive, prioritizing thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and our business as a whole.
Maintaining our start-up spirit, we prioritize thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and, of course, our business.
The role
We are looking for a Treasury Operations and Reconciliations Manager to help run the daily operations that keep money moving safely through Finom Payments. Every payment our customers send or receive must be funded, settled, reconciled and safeguarded across SEPA, instant payments, cards and international transfers.
This is a hands-on senior role at a moment of change. Volumes are growing fast and instant payments run around the clock. We are connecting more directly to payment infrastructure, and new products such as lending and payment acceptance bring new money flows.
The path to a banking license raises the bar on control and reconciliation. You will take a major part in running the operation day to day, alongside a small team, and step in when money doesn't move as it should. You will also play a key role in designing actual money flows for new products, with our product and engineering teams, before they launch.
What you'll do
You perform settlement and reconciliation day to day, making sure every euro is where it should be.
Treasury operations. Daily funding of our payment channels and the buffers behind them, around the clock. Help bring new schemes and settlement models live safely.
Reconciliation across banks, card schemes, payment processors and custodians. Take it from daily balance checks to automated, transaction-level control.
Safeguarding and reporting. Keep client money fully protected every day, and make sure the related regulatory and scheme reporting is accurate and on time.
Funds-flow engineering. Help design how money moves for new products, markets and partners, and get it right before launch. That covers accounts, postings, safeguarding treatment, reconciliation and what happens when something fails.
Escalation. Be the escalation point when money doesn't move as it should. Build the cross-team processes so incidents get resolved fast and don't repeat.
Process and automation. Document how the operation works, remove single points of failure, and automate manual work with our engineering teams.
Capital, policies, models, investment decisions and trade execution sit with the Head of Treasury. You run the operations and say when the numbers stop matching reality. The split keeps policy, execution and reconciliation independent, as a banking licence requires.
Who you are
Three things are essential: you know payment systems in depth, you stay effective in an escalation, and you can engineer funds flows.
Experience in treasury operations, payment operations or reconciliation at an e-money institution, payment institution or bank.
Builder's mindset. You have turned manual, person-dependent work into documented, automated processes, working closely with engineers.
Escalation. You have handled money-impacting payment incidents from first alert to resolution, working with banks, schemes and internal teams.
Payment systems. Hands-on knowledge of rails such as SEPA, SWIFT and card schemes.
Funds-flow engineering. You have taken an active part in designing or rebuilding money flows for new products or payment rails, including the accounts, postings, safeguarding treatment and reconciliation behind them.
Control and clarity. Segregation of duties and audit readiness come naturally to you, and you can explain a complex money flow simply. Fluent English.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
Anthropic manages one of the largest and fastest-growing infrastructure fleets in the industry — spanning multiple accelerator families, cpu families and clouds. The Capacity Engineering team is responsible for making sure all our infrastructure resources are accounted for, well-utilized, and efficiently allocated. We own the data, tooling, and operational systems that let Anthropic plan, measure, and maximize utilization across first-party and third-party compute.
As an engineer on Capacity Engineering, you will build the production systems that power this work: data pipelines that ingest and normalize telemetry from heterogeneous cloud environments, observability tooling that gives the org real-time visibility into fleet health, and performance instrumentation that measures how efficiently every major workload uses the hardware it’s running on. You will be expected to write production-quality code every day, operate alongside Kubernetes-native infrastructure at meaningful scale, and directly influence decisions around one of Anthropic’s largest areas of spend.
You’ll collaborate closely with research engineering, infrastructure, inference, and finance teams. The work requires someone who can move between data engineering, systems engineering, and observability with comfort — and who thrives in a high-autonomy, high-ambiguity environment.
This is a pipeline role feeding four areas.
Depending on your background and business priority, you’ll focus primarily in one, but the boundaries are fluid and the problems overlap:
Data platform
Pipelines that ingest occupancy and utilization telemetry from Kubernetes clusters, normalize billing and usage across cloud providers, and serve the BigQuery tables the rest of the org queries against. Correctness, completeness, and latency are the job, not a footnote. Consumers range from research engineers to finance to leadership, so it's product work as much as engineering: defining schema contracts, making data discoverable, and figuring out what people actually need.
Planning
Knowing what the fleet has, where it's going, and what's in the way. Making the state of the fleet legible and actionable in real time: cluster health tooling, capacity planning platforms, alerting on occupancy drops and allocation problems, and systemic fixes to scheduling and fragmentation. Kubernetes operations on one side, cross-team coordination on the other.
Efficiency
Measuring and improving how effectively every major workload uses the hardware it runs on. Instrumenting utilization across training, inference, and eval systems, building benchmarking infrastructure, establishing per-config baselines, and working directly with system-owning teams to close the gaps. The metric has to be good enough that the team on the hook for it agrees with the number.
Attribution and forecasting
Connecting what the fleet costs to what the business is doing with it. Reconciling CSP billing exports against vendor telemetry and internal systems with mismatched schemas, attributing spend to the workloads and teams that generate it, and turning inference demand signals and research roadmaps into a defensible compute plan. Efficiency metrics have to survive contact with finance: stripped of pure demand and unit-price effects, reproducible month over month, and legible to a CFO.
Key responsibilities
Build the planning and allocation stack — the tools leadership uses to allocate capacity, teams use to plan against their allocations, and the scheduler enforces. Cross-region and cross-provider placement, guardrails, queueing, occupancy KPIs.
Drive the efficiency programs: stranding and rightsizing, unused capacity recovery, and job-level utilization across training, inference, and eval. Establish per-config baselines and work with system-owning teams to close the gaps. Utilization improvements are worth enormous sums at our scale.
Own attribution and forecasting — reconcile billing across ten-plus providers against telemetry and internal systems, attribute spend to the workloads that generate it, and turn demand signals and research roadmaps into a defensible compute plan and supply pipeline.
Build the data platform underneath all of it: pipelines ingesting occupancy, utilization, and cost from a rapidly diversifying fleet into BigQuery, with real ownership of completeness, latency SLOs, and gap detection. Every new provider is a net-new integration.
Operate Kubernetes-native systems at scale — collection agents, workload labeling, and the taint/reservation/scheduling behavior that determines what capacity is actually usable.
Treat the output as a product, not a pipeline. Gather your own requirements, define schema contracts, and design for consumers ranging from research engineers to a CFO — including on-call and SLOs, because these surfaces are load-bearing for the company.
What you bring
A strong track record building and operating production systems. This is a hands-on engineering role with a devops flavor.
Python and SQL at production quality. Most pipeline code is Python; the presentation layer is BigQuery SQL, including table-valued functions and views. Both need to be idiomatic, well-tested, and maintainable.
Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) and its operations
Experience with observability tooling stack, including Prometheus, PromQL, and Grafana, including writing recording rules and building monitoring that engineering teams rely on.
Ability to gather your own requirements and work across organizational boundaries in an ambiguous environment with limited direction.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with capacity planning, resource management, or cost attribution systems at a hyperscaler or in a large-scale machine learning environment. Time spent in product engineering and developer experience absolutely counts here.
Scheduling and packing efficiency experience, or profiling-driven optimization of large distributed workloads.
Multi-cloud data ingestion experience, especially normalizing billing exports, reservation APIs, on-demand capacity reservations, commitments, and vendor telemetry from providers with different billing arrangements.
Total cost of ownership and forecasting experience, including decomposing whether infrastructure growth is causal or correlated with business drivers.
Accelerator infrastructure familiarity. GPU metrics (DCGM), TPU utilization, Trainium power and utilization metrics, or experience with machine learning training and inference systems at the hardware level.
Experience building internal data products with self-service access, schema contracts, API serving, documentation, and discoverability. Not just pipelines, but thinking about how the data gets consumed.
Storage efficiency, retention, and lifecycle program experience at exabyte scale.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
