Protective Services Agent
London, United Kingdom - Deliveroo
Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drive everything we do. Our Global Safety and Security team protects our people, property, operations, and reputation across more than 40 countries.
We're looking for a Protective Services Agent to join our team. This is an office-based role in London, with up to 25% travel, mainly across the UK and Western Europe. You'll deliver protective operations for the people we protect in the UK and our international markets, working to established standards with direction from the Senior Protective Services Agent and the Protective Services Manager.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll join the Protective Services function within Global Safety and Security, running daily movements in London and supporting advances and international operations as part of the detail. Here's what your day-to-day might look like:
Run protective movements,
independently in London and as a member of the detail on advances and international trips, from planning through to recovery.
Put intelligence to work
by taking Protective Intelligence briefings into every movement, applying the changes they call for, and escalating new information quickly.
Support risk and vulnerability assessments
with site surveys, photos, and field notes for residences, venues, and travel programmes.
Work with our in-country network
of vetted security providers, drivers, venues, and local partners, and report performance issues.
Support crisis response,
carrying out emergency action plans, taking part in drills, and capturing lessons in after-action reports.
Earn trust and keep friction low
by building relationships with the people we protect and their teams, so protection is something they rely on rather than tolerate.
What You'll Need to Thrive
Essential
Two to four years in protective, security, military, police, or other high-trust service operations,
ideally including protective movements.
Sound judgement when the plan changes,
with the discipline to follow procedure and the sense to know when to adapt or escalate.
Reliable delivery and discretion,
with clear handovers, follow-through without chasing, and absolute care with sensitive information.
Coachability,
taking direction and correction in the field and turning feedback into better performance.
A current SIA Close Protection licence, first-aid certificate (FREC 3 or equivalent), and full UK driving licence with a clean record.
Existing right to work in the UK is required; we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
Availability
to travel up to 25% of the time, sometimes at short notice, and to work extended and after-hours during active operations.
Nice to Have
International operations experience, hostile environment awareness training (HEAT), and medical evacuation familiarity.
Working knowledge of surveillance, access control, alarm monitoring, and residential security technology.
A degree or equivalent professional experience.
What the Work Involves
This role is active and operational. It includes extended time on your feet and in vehicles, carrying equipment, driving in busy or poor conditions, working outdoors in varied weather, and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and travel across time zones. We are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments with any candidate at any stage of the process.

OKX is part of OKG, a group that brings the value of Blockchain to users around the world, through our leading products OKX, OKX Wallet, OKLink and more.
About the Opportunity
The Trading Systems team builds the mission-critical order, execution, position, and risk infrastructure that powers OKX’s global trading platform. We operate at the intersection of high performance, correctness, resilience, and scale—where every design decision matters.
We are seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of our trading counter and core trading systems. This role is for an engineer who combines deep systems expertise with strong ownership: someone who investigates root causes, raises the quality bar across the engineering lifecycle, and turns individual learning into reusable team capability.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex, high-performance C++ trading systems.
Design reliable distributed systems, including consistency, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies across system boundaries.
Own work end to end—from technical proposals and design reviews through framework refactoring, implementation, deployment, production debugging, replay, and validation.
Solve low-level systems challenges involving networking, protocols, concurrency, memory management, performance, and operating-system-level behaviour.
Drive architectural improvements by identifying systemic issues and anti-patterns, such as overly coupled or “God Class” designs, and redesigning components with clear responsibilities.
Build proactive quality safeguards, including automated testing, failure-injection scenarios, stability validation, monitoring, and replay-based verification.
Design controlled experiments to validate architectural assumptions and diagnose complex production issues beyond surface-level symptoms.
Work effectively across heterogeneous technology stacks, making sound engineering decisions at language, service, and platform boundaries.
Independently explore and apply AI-assisted engineering practices across code understanding, solution design, cross-review, incident analysis, test validation, and knowledge capture.
Raise engineering standards through thoughtful code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvements to development practices.
Mentor engineers and share practical knowledge through documentation, playbooks, technical sessions, and reusable frameworks.
What We Look For In You
Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field; equivalent practical experience is also valued.
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with substantial experience building production C++ systems.
Strong experience designing and evolving complex systems, with a clear understanding of architectural trade-offs.
Proven knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, network programming, and performance optimisation in Linux-based environments.
Hands-on experience with distributed consistency, high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, or other system-level reliability designs.
Strong understanding of computer systems fundamentals, including networking protocols, operating systems, memory, storage, and runtime behaviour.
A track record of taking ownership proactively, from defining the problem to delivering and validating a robust solution.
Exceptional debugging and analytical ability, with a habit of investigating why issues occur—not simply applying short-term fixes.
Experience using automated tests, simulation, replay, or comparative experiments to validate system behaviour and reliability.
Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset; able to turn experience into documentation, standards, and practices that help the whole team.
Nice to Haves
Experience with exchange, brokerage, trading counter, order management, execution, market data, or other low-latency financial systems.
Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or high-throughput distributed platforms.
Familiarity with Rust, Java, Go, Python, or other languages used in multi-language production environments.
Practical experience applying AI tools to improve software engineering workflows and code quality.
Experience working with globally distributed, cross-functional engineering teams.
Perks & Benefits
Competitive total compensation package
L&D programs and Education subsidy for employees' growth and development
Various team building programs and company events
Wellness and meal allowances
Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants
More that we love to tell you along the process!

About the role
Customer Experience Operations is building out the foundation needed to grow and support Professional Services at GitLab. We are looking for a Staff Professional Services Operations Lead to establish scalable operations across PS, supporting planning and resource management, operational tooling and cadences, delivery operations, financial performance, systems partnership, and go-to-market alignment.
Reporting to the Director of Customer Experience Operations, you will be a strategic and hands-on partner to PS leadership. You will help move the organization from manual, disjointed processes to connected, reliable, and increasingly automated ways of working. Your work will give leaders better visibility into pipeline, capacity, staffing, delivery economics, and growth and will ensure our teams have what they need to successfully deliver.
What you’ll do
Mature the PS operating cadence, including forecasting & planning alignment, business reviews, performance reporting, and executive readouts.
Establish connected capacity, utilization, and resource management practices across billable and non-billable roles, including skill-based staffing and hiring planning.
Improve visibility and deliver insights into project economics, including rate cards, fully loaded costs, burden rates, project margin, fixed-fee budgets, utilization, and revenue recognition.
Partner with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, CX Engineering, Solutions Architecture, and Delivery to improve PSA, time-tracking, CRM, reporting, and related tooling.
Define requirements and lead process improvements, automations, and efficiency drivers across Professional Services, Operations, and newly integrated services teams.
Improve go-to-market alignment by tracking PS attach, connecting PS planning to account and renewal timelines, and enabling earlier PS involvement in deal strategy and account planning.
Partner cross functionally to deliver improvements in service catalog, pricing and packaging, SKU governance, and partner or channel delivery models.
Document processes, clarify roles and decision rights, and partner with Analytics to build self-service reporting that reduces dependencies of PS leadership for day-to-day execution.
What you’ll bring
10+ years’ experience in Professional Services Operations, Services Operations, Revenue Operations, or a related function in a technology or subscription business.
Deep understanding of PS business models, including time and materials, fixed-fee, and blended engagements.
Experience owning and developing forecasting and planning processes that connect sales pipeline to delivery capacity, staffing, bookings, and revenue.
Experience with resource management, utilization, project margin, delivery operations, PSA systems, or services go-to-market operations.
Experience leading process and systems improvements across evolving organizations.
Strong analytical, business judgment, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
A pragmatic, hands-on approach to solving ambiguous operational problems.
Hands-on experience with Kantata or a comparable Professional Services Automation (PSA) platform.
Ability to translate business requirements into system workflows, data definitions, reporting requirements, and automation opportunities.
Deep familiarity with revenue recognition processes and the systems partnership required between Professional Services and Finance.
Nice to have
Experience integrating two or more services organizations, operating models, or systems or driving operations transformation and maturity.
Experience improving PS attach, deal structuring, account planning, or services participation in the sales cycle.

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
ABOUT THE FINANCIAL SERVICES TEAM
- Our financial services customers span systemically important banks, neobanks committed to building more delightful banking software (1 in 3 of the world's leading banks use Sierra!), insurers that provide protection for life’s most challenging moments, vertically integrated ecosystems like Rocket Companies, and more. The decisions we make impact millions of end customers and billions of dollars in economic activity.
- Our financial services team partners closely with these organizations to set their AI strategies and build modern tools that carefully handle moments when a person’s private anxiety meets an institution’s procedural muscle - the instant before a family learns whether they are pre-approved for a mortgage; the claustrophobic half hour after someone notices a fraudulent charge; the frustrating experience of losing a card and needing to order a new one.
- Sierra’s Financial Services team is transforming the customer experience and building technology that makes the industry more accessible, human, and affordable for everyone.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and deliver production-grade AI agents https://sierra.ai/blog/meet-the-ai-agent-engineer: You'll build and ship highly performant, reliable, and intuitive AI agents that are central, mission-critical and drive revenue directly to Sierra's growth. These aren't prototypes—they are powerful, scalable systems running in production environments across industries like finance, healthcare, and commerce.
- Drive the Agent Development Life Cycle https://sierra.ai/blog/agent-development-life-cycle (ADLC): You'll have complete ownership and autonomy from initial pilot through deployment and continuous iteration. You'll be responsible for building, tuning, and evolving AI agents in production environments, defining the standard for ADLC best practices along the way.
- Partner with large enterprises and cutting-edge startups: You’ll work directly with leaders at some of the world’s largest enterprises to understand their most pressing business challenges, and build AI agents that transform how they operate at scale. You'll also partner with the most cutting-edge startups in Silicon Valley, embedding AI agents across their entire business stack to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Build the future of the platform: Your direct work with customers will guide the evolution of Sierra's core platform. You'll surface unmet needs, prototype new tools and features, and collaborate with research, product, and platform to shape the future of AI agent development and Sierra's product.
EXAMPLE PROJECTS
These are some examples of projects that engineers on our team have worked on recently:
- Design and build AI agents for large telecommunications and media companies that consistently outperform human agents in managing subscription churn
- Develop and refine AI agents capable of navigating complex customer interactions, like troubleshooting a broken device and personalizing product recommendations
- Create generalizable AI agent frameworks tailored for industry-specific use cases. See some examples in our financial services blog https://sierra.ai/blog/five-ways-to-use-ai-agents-financial-services!
- Facilitate design partnerships for new product initiatives, such as new agent architectures, self-service capabilities, and generative agent development
- Experiment with the latest voice models and figure out how to integrate them at scale to enterprise-grade customers
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, especially in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.
- A builder and tinkerer's mindset with high agency - you find creative ways to overcome obstacles and ship.
- Comfort working directly with customers to understand their needs and solve real-world problems.
- Excellent communication skills—clear, direct, and persuasive across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Genuine interest in Financial Services and improving the end customer experience. Experience in financial technology, implementations at financial institutions, working inside of these institutions or familiarity with financial services security and compliance requirements (fair lending, PII handling, etc.) are a strong plus.
EVEN BETTER...
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM systems in production
- Have been a founder or founding engineer - you know what it means to balance craft, ownership, and speed
- Familiarity with tools that power today's AI agents: eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering
- Prior experience with React, TypeScript, and/or Go
- Previous roles where you interfaced with customers or led technical projects with external stakeholders
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.
