This enables hundreds of thousands of people to achieve financial stability for themselves and their families while providing essential care to millions of people across the U.S.
Founded in 2016, we are a remote-first team of over 1,000 people building a top Y-Combinator company https://www.ycombinator.com/topcompanies/ and have been profitable since 2022. We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.
OVERVIEW
Our largest customers run complex operations, and when something isn’t working, the problem rarely sits neatly within one team. A customer may be implementing a new product, dealing with a complicated integration, or facing an operational issue with no obvious owner or solution. That’s where you come in!
We’re looking for a Strategic Fixer who wants exposure to a wide range of problems and is ready to own outcomes. You will take ambiguous problems, structure them, dig into the details, align senior stakeholders, and drive execution across teams that don’t report to you.
This isn’t a role where you make a recommendation and hand it off. One week you might be diagnosing a failing payroll integration, the next coordinating an engineering fix, and the next working with a customer’s VP of Operations to get an implementation back on track. The problems might vary, but your job stays the same: figure it out, get the right people moving, and own the problem until it’s solved. This role opens doors to a range of growth paths across Clipboard!
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Analyze operational data to spot trends and bottlenecks, and turn your findings into clear recommendations that guide business decisions.
- Research and evaluate new tools, including AI, automation, and internal systems, and drive their adoption to make operations more effective.
- Design processes, workflows, and operating procedures that improve efficiency, quality, and customer experience
- Lead cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives from planning through execution, partnering with Operations, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and other teams.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 2–6 years of experience in a problem-solving role, such as strategy or management consulting, operations, strategy & operations, implementation, customer strategy, or program management.
- Experience solving operational problems by improving processes, designing workflows, or building scalable systems, while juggling multiple priorities in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Strong analytical skills, with comfort using data (e.g., SQL, Python) to diagnose problems and support decisions.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex problems simply and align stakeholders across teams, from frontline operators to senior leaders.
- A high level of ownership. You don’t stop at the recommendation; you stay with the problem until it’s solved.
- A deep curiosity that drives you to reason from first principles and dig until you find the root cause.
- A habit of going to the source: testing the feature, listening to the agent call, calling the customer, or running the workflow.
WHY JOIN CLIPBOARD?
- We are remote-first, giving you the flexibility to work with us from many places.
- Fast-paced startup environment. Join a company that values curiosity, independence, and growth.
- A hiring process that rewards skills, not just experience. Every applicant gets a fair shot, our selection is based on real-world problem-solving ability, not just credentials.
- Opportunity to make a significant impact with our customers on both sides of the marketplace.
THE INTERVIEW PROCESS
At Clipboard, we don't believe proxies are a reliable way to measure ability. We prefer to evaluate candidates by having them do work that closely resembles the actual job. Location: Espoo
Workplace: Hybrid
Role highlights:
- Senior Smart Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics
- Location: Espoo, Finland
- Department: Global Manufacturing Organization, Smart Manufacturing Engineering
- Reports to: Team Lead, Smart Manufacturing Engineering
- Employment type: Permanent
- Workplace model: Hybrid
- Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)
Why this role matters:
As a Senior Smart Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics, you’ll own the test systems that every ICEYE satellite passes through before it reaches orbit. You’ll design and standardize the production and integration test equipment used across our manufacturing sites, find the bottlenecks that would otherwise cap how fast we can scale, and set the technical standard for the engineers around you. This is a hands-on design role with organization-wide influence: what you build and document becomes how we manufacture.
Who We Are
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Design, build and own the production and integration test systems used on the line, including the electrical ground support equipment.
- Drive standardization of test equipment across products and sites, so designs and interfaces are reused rather than rebuilt each time.
- Define test strategies: coverage, test limits, guard bands, failure modes and diagnostics.
- Produce and maintain the design documentation other engineers execute from, including schematics, test requirements, procedures and interface definitions.
- Use production and test data to find yield issues, bottlenecks and systemic weaknesses, then implement the fixes before they limit the ramp.
- Review designs from other teams and set the requirements they must meet to integrate cleanly into our production workflow.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, feedback and knowledge sharing.
What we’re looking for
Must haves:
- Several years of electronics design and test system development experience, ideally on high-reliability or high-complexity products (space, defence, telecom, automotive, industrial or similar).
- Strong analog and digital electronics design, including high-speed digital work (signal integrity, impedance control, power integrity) and PCBA design for manufacturability and testability.
- A track record of designing, implementing and maintaining automated test systems or electrical ground support equipment, taken from concept through to stable production.
- Hands-on RF and mixed-signal test and characterization, including S-parameters, matching networks and filters, with the instruments that go with them (spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators).
- Test automation in Python and embedded development in C/C++ on common microcontrollers such as STM32, TI or MSP430.
- Experience mentoring engineers and running design reviews, with documentation quality to match.
Nice to haves:
- Altium Designer or KiCad, and RF simulation in CST or AWR.
- Lean or Six Sigma background, and quality methods such as FMEA, 8D or fault tree analysis applied to production problems.
- Experience scaling a manufacturing line: ramp-up, multi-site rollout and continuous improvement.
- Real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, and serial interfaces including USB, CAN and RS-485.
- Confident use of AI tools in day-to-day engineering work.
Application Process
- Recruiter Interview
- Hiring manager interview
- Technical assessment
- Final Interview
WORKING AT ICEYE

As a global scale-up, we combine speed and ambition with the opportunity to take real ownership from day one. Your growth, wellbeing, and success are a priority, with continuous professional development, training opportunities, and a culture where collaboration is how we win.
HOW WE WORK (OUR VALUES)
Make the impossible possible: We set ambitious goals and stay calm under pressure. We bring grit, optimism, and ownership when things get hard, and we keep moving until we find a way.
- Be curious: Go deep, ask questions, listen carefully, and think critically. Understand the “why” behind decisions.
- See the big picture: Stay close to what’s happening across the company so you can make better decisions. Consider how your work affects others.
- Drive effective teamwork: Create psychological safety, invite different perspectives, and build inclusive teams. There are no bad questions.
- Act as one team: We win together. We match tasks to the right owner and stay agile as priorities shift.
- Have fun: What we do matters—and it should be enjoyable. Celebrate progress, take pride in results, and share the wins.
BENEFITS
Our benefits are designed to support your health and wellbeing, at work and beyond. We keep improving them based on employee feedback, and offerings vary by location. Talent Attraction will confirm what applies for this role and location during the process.

Responsibilities:
Test new features by hand, deeply: exploratory testing of long, multi-role flows (pricing, eligibility, documents)
Build and own automation: Playwright + TypeScript E2E and API tests, running in CI
Keep the suite trustworthy: hunt down flaky tests, maintain selectors and test data, keep regression fast
Own the release: run the QA board, test plans and regression, and give the go/no-go before every deploy

Your main tasks will be:
Own delivery of the monolith-to-microservices modernization end-to-end — from legacy analysis through production release — with full visibility into pipeline status and risk.
Partner with Product and Architecture to review specs, map legacy dependencies, and turn that into estimates the team can actually hit.
Guide architectural decisions across .NET Core services, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and frontend integrations, and be the go-to for the hardest backend, data migration, and production incident calls.
Sharpen how the team works day-to-day — tighter task tracking in Jira, more accurate estimation, and a QA partnership that keeps bugs resolved fast and production stable.
Run regular 1-on-1s tied to real career goals, and drive the feedback and process changes that keep the team improving and engaged.

Solid

Ability to act as the technical escalation point for complex implementation, data migration, or performance issues.
Proven experience managing engineering teams — running 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and objective evaluations.
Strong track record in delivery management: task tracking in Jira, process discipline, and hitting internal deadlines with predictable releases.
Experience reviewing business specs, assessing technical feasibility, and providing high-level estimates — partnering closely with PM and product to keep engineering output aligned with product goals.
