WHO WE ARE
Hi, we're DuckDuckGo, the online protection company and remote-first team of 400+ on a mission to raise the standard of trust online. Founded in 2008 and profitable since 2014, our annual revenue is in the hundreds of millions USD and millions use our browser on Mac https://spreadprivacy.com/introducing-duckduckgo-for-mac/, Windows https://spreadprivacy.com/windows-browser-open-beta/, iOS https://spreadprivacy.com/duckduckgo-privacy-browser-ios14/, and Android https://spreadprivacy.com/introducing-app-tracking-protection/, our search engine https://duckduckgo.com/, and the DuckDuckGo subscription https://duckduckgo.com/pro. We also offer private, useful, and optional AI, including Duck.ai https://duck.ai/, which lets you chat privately with ChatGPT, Claude, and other AIs, all in one place.
Our culture https://duckduckgo.com/how-we-work of trust, inclusivity, and empowered project management underpins everything we do, where each team member takes full ownership of their projects, from scoping and execution to postmortem. If you're seeking end-to-end ownership of your work, you've come to the right place!
YOUR TEAM AND ROLE
Working on the Marketing & Communications Functional Team, you'll drive profitable acquisition of paid subscribers and work on related projects that aim to help millions of people take back control of their personal information.
Recent projects include:
- Supporting strategy and planning for new paid advertising initiatives to profitably scale subscriptions
- Launching new ad channel tests and measuring incremental lift
- Executing in-market tests for new creative and messaging following a brand refresh
As a Senior Growth Marketing Manager, you'll manage high priority marketing campaigns, including planning, hands-on execution, testing, optimization, and analysis to optimize spend and drive profitable paid subscriber growth. This role will help create and execute a new marketing program for paid subscriptions. You'll deliver results from new channel testing, creative testing, and by optimizing paid subscriber conversion. The right person is excited to prove that paid marketing growth and privacy-respecting advertising practices aren’t at odds — they’re our edge. You know how to use aggregate measurement, experimentation, and strong judgment rather than user-level targeting and tracking.
ABOUT YOU
- 7+ years of experience in digital advertising roles, with 2+ years of experience in paid acquisition for freemium consumer subscription apps preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with both strategic planning and execution in digital marketing platforms (app store ads, paid social, mobile app networks) to profitably scale app subscriber growth.
- Hands-on expertise standing up paid subscription programs from scratch, with a track record of scaling subscriber growth profitably against LTV and payback — not just acquisition costs.
- Experience driving subscription growth within an established, high-traffic product where subscription revenue is a secondary — not primary — revenue model, preferred.
- Track record partnering with Engineering and Product to build and optimize landing pages, funnels, product experiences, and instrumentation.
- Ability to execute highly complex and ambiguous projects, working across business strategy and marketing tactics.
- Advanced analytical and measurement abilities, including app economics (payback, LTV), incrementality/lift testing, modeling, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills — you can clearly articulate recommendations and rationale, whether verbal or written.
COMPENSATION
$178,500 USD annually and stock options. Compensation is transparent across the organization, and all team members within the same professional level and global region receive the same compensation.
Eligibility for company-sponsored health benefits is limited to team members based in the United States. This program does not extend to team members located in other countries, such as Canada or the UK.

- Deconstruct games into their most engaging moments: understand core loops, player motivations, difficulty curves and “aha” moments, then identify what can be turned into a compelling playable ad.
- Design playable concepts from scratch: come up with interactive experiences that capture the essence of a game in seconds, balancing gameplay depth, accessibility, pacing and curiosity.
- Think like both a game designer and a growth strategist: make creative decisions with a clear hypothesis around player behavior, then use performance data to understand what actually drives engagement.
- Write sharp gameplay briefs: translate ideas into clear mechanics, flows, difficulty progressions and player journeys that developers and production partners can execute.
- Work closely with developers and creative teams: guide production from the first concept to the final playable, making sure the gameplay feels intuitive, satisfying and true to the original game.
- Iterate relentlessly: analyze performance, identify where players drop off or engage, and turn those learnings into the next, better version.
PROFILE
We’re open to different backgrounds. What matters most is your ability to understand what makes a game engaging, turn insights into strong creative concepts, and drive them through production.

Working closely with the Legal Operations Manager, you’ll partner with the Legal, Procurement, IT, and Security teams to make sure the right tools and processes are in place – and that people actually use them.
Day to day, you will:
Map current workflows and build better, more efficient alternatives.
Run legal operations projects from the discovery phase straight through to implementation.
Talk to stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate them into clear requirements and action plans.
Manage legal technology vendors, handling onboarding, renewals, and ongoing evaluations.
Track operational data to figure out what’s working, what’s not, and where we should focus next.
Help the team adopt new tools and processes.
What you’ll bring
A sense of ownership. You’re comfortable taking responsibility, figuring things out, and moving work forward without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
Structured problem-solving. You know how to make sense of ambiguous situations and turn them into practical, realistic solutions.
Clear communication. You build relationships easily and can communicate clearly with everyone from legal experts to software engineers.
Precision. You care about the details and take pride in producing high-quality work.
Good judgment. You ask the right questions before trying to solve problems.
A continuous improvement mindset. You naturally look for ways to make things cleaner, faster, and easier for others.
What you’ll need
A proven background in leading operational or process-improvement projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Experience in legal operations, business operations, project management, consulting, product operations, process improvement, or a similar operational role.
Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting complex business requirements.
A track record of turning business needs into structured implementation plans.
Hands-on experience mapping out processes and driving continuous improvement.
Experience managing vendor relationships or implementing new technology platforms.
Familiarity working in cross-functional environments, particularly alongside legal, compliance, IT, or risk teams.
What success looks like
Within your first year, you’ll take full ownership of key legal operations initiatives. You’ll have set up structured ways to gather requirements and deliver projects, making priorities clear to everyone involved. By improving our processes and managing our legal tech stack effectively, you’ll help the Legal team work faster, make better decisions, and dedicate their focus and time where it matters.
