Mattermost is hiring a
GRC Manager
to own and modernize our governance, risk, and compliance program across both federal and commercial markets.
This is a program-ownership role for someone who brings a modern, engineering-led approach to compliance — harnessing GRC engineering and AI to reduce manual effort and scale our programs. You will own Mattermost's compliance posture end to end, accountable for our federal readiness and commercial certifications, and you will modernize how we run them: automated, continuously monitored, and AI-native.
You will do the hands-on compliance work while coordinating across internal stakeholders in engineering, infrastructure, and IT who implement controls, the external auditors who assess them, and the customers whose trust rests on the outcome. As the program scales, you will grow and lead the team behind it.
What You'll Do
Own and modernize Mattermost's compliance programs across federal and commercial markets
Lead readiness, certification, and surveillance cycles across both programs
Operate the risk management program end to end — from identification and assessment through treatment and acceptance
Own the third-party and vendor risk management program, including security assessments and supply chain risk
Apply GRC engineering and automation to replace manual evidence collection with continuous controls monitoring
Build AI-native workflows to accelerate and improve the quality of recurring compliance work
Maintain the control library, system security plans, POA&Ms, and policies
Coordinate external audits from scoping through remediation
Accelerate deal cycles by owning customer security questionnaires, trust center content, and reusable compliance artifacts
Grow and lead the GRC team as the program scales
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related field — or significant professional GRC and compliance experience
Proven senior-level experience in governance, risk, and compliance, security compliance, or IT audit, including direct ownership of a certification or authorization program
Experience with U.S. Federal standards including CMMC and NIST series (800-171 / 800-53)
Experience with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II
Experience operating a formal risk management program
Experience running a third-party and vendor risk management program
Experience owning customer-facing security assurance, including security questionnaires and trust center content
Working knowledge of security controls for cloud environments (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have
Professional GRC certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, or CIPP
Experience working with AI platforms such as Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini
Experience with compliance automation tooling such as Vanta or Drata, and continuous controls monitoring
Direct experience applying AI or LLM-based workflows to GRC tasks
Proficiency in no-code automation or scripting languages
Past success in critical infrastructure industries including defense, cybersecurity, communications, or manufacturing
How Success Is Measured
CMMC Level 2 gap assessment and readiness roadmap delivered within first 90 days
SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 audit cycles completed on time without slippage
Manual evidence collection replaced with automated, continuously monitored controls
Customer security questionnaires and trust center content maintained to unblock deal cycles
GRC team grown and operating as a scalable, program-driven function

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT DOCKER
Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. From solo founders to the world's largest companies, developers rely on Docker to build, share, and run their applications across our suite of products including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.
We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. As AI agents redefine software development, Docker is at the center of that shift, providing the sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default.
_______________________________________________________________________
Docker seeks a Principal Software Engineer to define the technical vision and architecture for our internal Developer Tools team. This is a rare opportunity to establish how software is designed, built, shipped, and operated at Docker. With the addition of AI we are modernizing our SDLC and building the mechanisms that make the right way the easy way for every engineer.
You'll own the technical strategy across four interconnected pillars:
Platform Engineering & Self-Service: Design and build the internal developer platform that empowers teams across Docker to unblock themselves, rapidly scaffolding, prototyping, deploying, and operating their own services and tools.
CI/CD & Build Systems: Define Docker's technical approach to continuous integration, delivery, and build infrastructure. Establish architectural standards for pipeline tooling, GitOps deployment patterns, build substrate, and release engineering.
As Principal Software Engineer, you'll partner with engineering leadership across Docker, principal engineers, Security, Infrastructure, and the service teams to author the SDLC tenets that underpin all of this work, and build the mechanisms those tenets run through.
Reporting to the Sr Manager of Developer Tools, you'll collaborate closely with engineering leadership across Docker, product engineering teams, platform teams, and ultimately customers as internal tools evolve into product offerings.
WHAT WOULD MAKE SOMEONE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
You're a technical leader who excels at the intersection of developer experience, platform engineering, and systems design. You think in platforms and golden paths, building once and enabling dozens of teams to move faster. You have strong opinions on what makes developer tools great: invisible by default, indispensable once adopted, and measurable in the workflows engineers already use.
You have deep experience across the breadth of the developer tooling stack, CI/CD, build systems, observability infrastructure, and developer platforms, and working knowledge of LLM integration and AI agent development. You understand the nuances of internal platforms: designing for adoption, not mandate; plugging into existing workflows before standing up new ones; and earning trust through data before expanding scope.
You have exceptional judgment on when to build custom solutions versus integrate existing tools, and you're comfortable navigating a rapidly evolving landscape across both AI and developer infrastructure. You balance technical excellence with pragmatism, shipping iteratively while maintaining high quality bars. Most importantly, you lead through influence and mentorship, elevating the entire engineering organization's technical capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Define the long-term technical vision and architecture for Docker's developer tooling platform spanning platform engineering, CI/CD, and AI-powered tools
- Lead authoring of SDLC tenets in partnership with other principal engineers, Security, and Infrastructure and build the mechanisms those tenets bind to (design gates, code review gates, pipeline standards, visibility)
- Establish architectural patterns, technical standards, and best practices across the developer tooling stack
- Design highly available, scalable infrastructure for hosting developer tools, agents, and platform services
- Drive technical decisions on tooling choices, provider strategies, build/deploy substrate, and agent orchestration frameworks
- Partner with Senior Manager and product leadership to align technical architecture with business objectives and productization opportunities
Systems Design & Implementation
- Architect and build Docker's internal developer platform, the self-service substrate enabling teams to scaffold, deploy, and operate services with minimal friction
- Design and implement CI/CD and build infrastructure that supports Docker's SDLC tenets and GitOps deployment patterns
- Establish reliability, security, and performance standards across developer tooling including SLOs, monitoring, incident response, and cost management
- Design integration points between developer tools and existing infrastructure (CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, deployment systems)
Strategic Impact & Innovation
- Evaluate emerging technologies across developer tooling, platform engineering, AI/LLM, and agent frameworks to inform Docker's technical strategy
- Define and enforce the golden path, the concrete, left-to-right walkthrough of how Docker builds software, and identify where tooling closes gaps vs. where human process does
- Drive technical standards for measuring developer tool effectiveness: adoption metrics, productivity gains, pipeline performance, and developer satisfaction
- Lead cross-functional technical discussions influencing company-wide developer tooling architecture
- Define technical approach for productizing successful internal developer tools into customer-facing offerings
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor senior and staff engineers on platform engineering, CI/CD patterns, design, and AI/LLM integration
- Lead design reviews and technical decision-making across all developer tooling work
- Foster culture of technical excellence, experimentation, and rapid prototyping within the Developer Tools team
- Serve as primary technical contact and thought leader for developer tooling across Docker's engineering organization
- Collaborate with platform teams (Infrastructure, Security, Agentic Platform, Supply Chain Security) to establish shared technical standards and integration patterns
- This role may require participation in an on-call rotation to provide support outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- 10+ years software engineering experience with 3+ years in Staff or Principal Engineer roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven track record architecting and operating developer-facing platforms, internal tools, or developer productivity systems at scale
- Deep expertise in CI/CD systems, build infrastructure, and GitOps deployment patterns
- Production experience with cloud-native infrastructure including Kubernetes, observability systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki), and deployment tooling
- Experience designing self-service platforms, developer portals, or golden path tooling that enable other teams to move faster
- Working knowledge of AI/ML technologies and hands-on experience with LLM APIs or AI agent development
- Proficiency in Go (preferred), Rust, Java, or Python with strong software engineering fundamentals
- Exceptional product and platform mindset considering developer experience, business outcomes, and technical/security trade-offs
- Strong communication skills with ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Track record of technical mentorship and elevating engineering teams' capabilities
- Ownership mentality with bias for action and iterative delivery in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Comfortable with autonomous work in distributed, remote-first teams across multiple time zones
PREFERRED:
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar AI agent integration standards

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is seeking an exceptional Legal Program Manager to serve as the operational backbone of contracting for the Compute and Infrastructure team. We'll rely on you to manage a high volume of procurement and vendor agreements — including datacenter colocation, lease, and build-to-suit agreements; hardware, chip, and network-equipment procurement; and construction, facilities, and operations-and-maintenance (O&M) contracts — along with the NDAs, order forms, SOWs, and amendments that surround them. You will build the scalable contracting processes — templates, playbooks, intake and approval workflows, and contract lifecycle management — that let the business move at the speed of Anthropic’s infrastructure buildout. This role owns the system, throughput, and visibility that move every agreement from intake through signature.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate and shepherd a high volume of compute and infrastructure procurement transactions — datacenter colocation, lease, and build-to-suit agreements; hardware, chip, and network-equipment procurement; construction/EPC and facilities/O&M agreements; and the supporting NDAs, order forms, SOWs, and amendments — driving each from intake through signature
Own and administer the contract lifecycle management system: workflow design and configuration, templates, approval routing, signing and archive and integrity hygiene
Design and run intake and triage: how requests enter, how they are prioritized, and how they route to the right owner
Propose and develop scalable solutions to improve contracting efficiency and throughput across the infrastructure vendor base
Collaborate with business units and legal team members to streamline contract management processes, manage post-signature obligations and renewals across the infrastructure vendor portfolio, identify potential risks, and drive continuous improvement in contract handling efficiency
Partner closely with the Compute and Infrastructure, Product, Finance, Security, Business Operations, and Procurement Ops teams to achieve key business objectives and deliver strategic, business-minded, and solutions-focused counsel
Build reporting, dashboards, SLAs, and the metrics that surface turnaround times and bottlenecks across the infrastructure vendor portfolio
Deploy LLM and AI tooling to scale contracting throughput and reduce manual handling
Minimum Qualifications
Experience operating in a fast-paced technology startup in which priorities shift rapidly and schedules "move to the left," thriving in this dynamic environment and priding yourself on your adaptability and ability to pivot with speed and grace
Initiative and autonomy in managing complex contractual matters, effectively prioritizing competing deadlines
An understanding of what's important in the context of a contract, the organization's mission, and enough contract fluency to triage and route requests, track obligations, and pull in relevant legal counsel
Excitement to grow with an organization and help shape the culture of the commercial function
A preference for straightforward, concise explanations over legalese and overwrought drafting
A knack for identifying and implementing efficient processes and policies
The ability to thrive as a member of cross-functional teams building frontier technologies, with a desire to develop a deep understanding of the Compute & Infrastructure teams and the datacenter, hardware, and network systems they build and operate
Comfort operating outside your areas of expertise and in uncharted legal territory
A "doer" mentality, willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done as a team player who doesn't hesitate to jump in to do work that needs to get done, whether glamorous or not
Hands-on experience with contract lifecycle management or legal-operations tooling, process design, and working from data, metrics, and dashboards
Comfort using AI and LLM tools to streamline and scale routine contracting work
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years in contract management, legal operations, or procurement operations, including hands-on experience implementing or administering a contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform; experience supporting infrastructure, datacenter, hardware, construction, or telecom/network procurement and vendor contracting
Proven ability to collaborate across various organizational levels and functions to facilitate efficient contracting processes and execution while building strong relationships
Working familiarity with the structure of datacenter, colocation, and lease agreements; hardware and equipment procurement; construction, facilities, and O&M contracts; network and telecom agreements; high-volume, template-driven vendor contracting; and general contract terms
Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Motivated self-starter able to multitask and juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Authentic integrity and a deep understanding of the importance of ethics in business
Experience implementing or administering a CLM platform (Ironclad) and standing up reporting and metrics
