An overview of this role
As a Senior Backend Engineer in GitLab’s Platform Enablement organization, you will help make GitLab easier to deploy, validate, and operate across environments. This team is centered on two major areas: Cloud Native deployment guidance and ephemeral environments.
You’ll help shape GitLab’s next generation of self-managed deployment guidance as Reference Architectures evolve toward a model based on deployment patterns, workload characterization, component requirements, topology guidance, and scaling principles.
You’ll also help improve production-like ephemeral environments so teams can validate changes earlier, test against infrastructure and deployment conditions that more closely reflect real-world operation, and reduce drift between development, CI, and production. This includes shaping the tooling, workflows, and platform contracts that make these environments more consistent, more repeatable, and more useful to engineers building and shipping across GitLab’s different deployment models.
Current projects
Deployment Environments is currently focused on:
Evolving GitLab’s self-managed deployment guidance beyond legacy Reference Architectures into a clear Cloud Native model.
Improving production-like ephemeral environments for earlier, higher-confidence validation.
Supporting a platform model where services declare requirements, operators satisfy them, and shared artifacts work across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and Self-Managed.
What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll:
Build tooling and workflows for cloud-native and self-managed deployment environments.
Contribute to Cloud Native deployment guidance, including component requirements, architecture patterns, topology guidance, and scaling principles.
Improve ephemeral environments that bring validation closer to production reality.
Work across application, infrastructure, and platform boundaries to keep deployment artifacts and environment contracts consistent from development through production.
Partner with related teams on packaging, testing, delivery workflows, and customer-facing deployment guidance.
What you’ll bring
Strong backend engineering experience, ideally with Kubernetes-based systems, distributed applications, or platform engineering
Experience with deployment architecture, environment management, or cloud-native operations
Comfort working at the boundary of developer workflows and production infrastructure
Good systems thinking around service dependencies, deployment patterns, and infrastructure abstraction.
A collaborative, pragmatic approach to building durable platform capabilities
About the team
The Deployment Environments team helps make GitLab easier to deploy and easier to validate across development, CI, GitLab.com, Dedicated, and Self-Managed. Its work spans Cloud Native deployment guidance, ephemeral environments, and the platform contracts that reduce drift across the software lifecycle.

HEALTH CAN’T WAIT.
Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.
Alan exists to end the wait.
Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.
So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.
We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture https://alan.com/en/careers. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.
Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.
🚀 WHY JOIN CARE OPS IN 2026? 🚀
You might look at Alan’s Care team today—managing high volumes seamlessly, supported by strong partners, and automating 50 of conversations—and ask: "It works, so why join now?"
Yet, the most exciting part is still ahead. We are at a turning point as we prepare to support millions of members and push to set the standards in the industry.
Here is why this is the moment to join.
- People: This is the opportunity to join a team with incredibly high talent density, operating with distributed ownership—empowered Crew Leads, strong deputies, and Guillaume Poirier https://www.linkedin.com/in/guillaume-p-34602923/ as Care Ops Lead. It is a proven engine for creating talent and fueling internal mobility.
- Processes: We absorb high volumes without glitches (including Ministry of Finance in France) and collaborate smoothly with Product and Sales. We trust and work hand-in-hand with solid external partners in France and Spain.
- Innovation: We are one of the few companies in the world claiming to automate 40% of member conversations as of the end of 2025 (a true market benchmark).
We're building an organization capable of serving 3 million members with a lean team. To get there, we need people who can build scalable systems (analytical and operational) that make this possible.
What this means for the role you're joining:
- Our operations are getting smarter, and our analytics need to keep up: We don't just need dashboards. We need to understand what drives performance, spot problems early, and help teams decide faster. You'll build this.
- Our planning is getting more complex: More countries, more automation, more partner teams. We need better models to know how many people we need, where, and when.
- Our tools need to scale: What works with manual effort today won't work at 3x the volume. You'll build AI-powered tools and workflows that make operations smoother across the board.
Recognition: We are building something unique, yet we are not yet known externally as the reference for Care operations.
⭐ THE CARE OPS ROLE ⭐
The Care Ops team supports the Care Community globally (France, Belgium, Spain, Canada) by providing tools, processes, and data to deliver on our Roadmap and Strategic Plan. Care Ops is accountable for operational excellence and efficiency in Care, enabling the Community to scale without any compromise on user experience.
We are looking for a Care Ops who loves numbers, builds tools, and wants to have a real impact on how we run operations at scale.
You'll join a team of 10 and work across the full spectrum of our operations: understanding what drives our performance, building the tools and models that help us make better decisions, and collaborating daily with Data, Engineering, Product, and Care teams.
One week you'll be deep in a staffing model, the next you'll be building an AI-powered reporting tool, the next you'll be presenting a performance deep dive to Crew Leads.
Some of our missions include:
1/ Performance analytics and operational insights
- Build and improve dashboards and reports that help teams understand what's happening and why. Not just track numbers — explain them.
- Conduct deep dives into operational performance (response times, resolution quality, contact drivers) and deliver concrete recommendations.
- Help define and maintain our key metrics across countries: what do we measure, where does the data live, how do we make it reliable.
- Work closely with our Data team and Care Crew Leads to turn data into decisions.
2/ Planning, forecasting, and resource optimization
- Help build and improve our staffing models: how many people do we need, when, and where? How does automation change the equation?
- Contribute to simplifying our planning tools and processes
- Work with our external partners on capacity planning and delivery tracking.
- Challenge how we do things today.
3/ Tooling and AI
- Build and improve operational tools using AI and no-code solutions (Dust, Claude, automation platforms). You'll probably build half your tools with AI.
- Identify where current processes don't scale and propose solutions — sometimes a simple script, sometimes a product need.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering crews to push efficiency needs into the roadmap.
⭐ JOIN THE CARE TEAM! ⭐️
You will excel as a Care Ops if you:
- Communicate clearly in English and French, written and verbal. You'll work with many teams and clarity matters.
- Think in numbers. You're comfortable with data, spreadsheets, and ideally SQL. You build models, not just read dashboards.
- Have a performance mindset. You want to understand why a metric moves. You look for root causes and push for action.
- Are curious about AI and tooling. You use AI tools in your daily work and see them as building blocks. You're excited to learn and experiment.
- Get your hands dirty. You dig into the details, fix what's broken, and don't wait for someone else to do it.
- Have 2-5 years of experience in operations, analytics, consulting, or a similar role — ideally in a tech or startup environment.
- Have an organized and structured mindset.
- Can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Our ideal candidate thrives in a startup or tech company environment and is excited about the opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing company. If this sounds like you, then you might just be the Care Ops we're looking for.
We value diversity and encourage individuals from varied experiences and backgrounds to apply. Join our Care team and contribute to our mission of delivering an exceptional user experience.
For this opportunity, we are aiming to hire within the B1-C1 level range https://alan.com/en/careers/a/salary-equity.
🙌 PERKS & BENEFITS https://alan.com/about/life-at-alan/a/perks
At Alan, we believe that being in good health is a basic need, and it starts with our employees. This is why Alaners are provided with a stimulating environment and perks ensuring they are happy, efficient and spend only high-quality time with co-workers.
Therefore, we offer:
- Fair rewards. Generous equity packages complement your base salary, for permanent contracts only.
- Flexible Office. Amazing office space at our HQ, sponsored co-working hubs or a full-remote experience with home office equipment sponsorship, we want you to live where you’re the happiest.
- All the tools you need. Top of the range equipment: Macbook Pro, keyboard, laptop stand, monitor, and Bose noise-canceling headphones.
- Flexible vacation policy and flexible working hours. Organize your time as you wish.
- Delightful healthcare insurance. Extremely comprehensive health insurance - 100% of the contribution covered by Alan for you and your family, for permanent contracts only.
- Transport. Country-specific commuter benefits.
- Learning & Training opportunities. A highly flexible Training policy free books and budget to attend and speak at conferences if the opportunity arises.
- Parental leave. Extended parental leave for all new parents, for permanent contracts only.
IMPORTANT NOTE: WE HIRE PEOPLE, NOT ROLES.
After reading this job description, if you feel like you don’t have all the necessary prerequisites but that it matches where you are now or what you'd like to grow into in your next position, we encourage you to apply!
Not everybody will enter our recruitment process, but all, no matter how underrepresented, should feel free to apply as it can only bring learnings or success.

About You
As Head of Investor Capital and Relations, Middle East, you will operate independently in region with a global reporting line and executive sponsorship, and with the mandate to build the firm's Middle East franchise from first principles: the coverage map, the institutional relationships, the office and, ultimately, the regional team.
This is a builder's role. You will own senior coverage of the region's sovereign wealth funds, government related entities and family offices, lead the office establishment and hub determination between DIFC and ADGM, and coordinate closely with counsel and the firm's government relations workstreams as you build a durable Gulf franchise.
About the Opportunity

The GCC is executing one of the most ambitious government backed investment programs in the history of the games industry, and this seat exists to convert that alignment into anchor limited partner relationships, co-investment partnerships and strategic financings for the firm's investment vehicles and transaction pipeline.
The corporate title for this seat is Executive Director, with a defined path to Managing Director tied to franchise milestones. The seat will have one direct report initially, a Regional Relationship Manager, to be hired following office establishment.
The Head of Investor Capital and Relations, Middle East will be based in Dubai (DIFC) or Abu Dhabi (ADGM), with the hub determination in progress and open to the successful candidate's input, and will report to the Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships. The role requires travel of 50 percent or more across the GCC and wider MENA, with periodic travel to Los Angeles and New York. This is a full time position; the regional package will be structured with local counsel.

About Xsolla
Xsolla is a global commerce and financial technology company for the video game industry. Headquartered in Los Angeles with offices and operations worldwide, Xsolla provides the tools, infrastructure and capital solutions that help developers and publishers fund, launch, distribute and monetize their games across every market and platform. The company serves thousands of game businesses globally, from independent studios to the largest publishers, and is expanding a dedicated capital markets and investment platform serving the interactive entertainment ecosystem.
The Capital Markets Group
The Capital Markets Group (CMG) sits within Xsolla's Global Strategic Initiatives function and operates as the firm's institutional capital platform. The group originates, structures and executes financing and investment solutions across games and interactive entertainment, and is building a franchise modeled on the leading independent capital markets and special situations advisory platforms.
The group operates multiple investment vehicles spanning debt financing and credit markets, alongside special situations and principal investment strategies serving the interactive entertainment ecosystem. These activities are supported by a proprietary market intelligence system, a global events and convening program, and a governed institutional relationship platform covering LPs, sovereign investors, family offices, banks and intermediaries across the Americas, MENA, APAC and Europe.
CMG operates from hubs in Los Angeles, New York, the Middle East and Singapore. The group is in its foundation stage: hires at every level join a live deal environment with executive sponsorship, meaningful ownership and the mandate to build a durable franchise rather than inherit one.

About the Opportunity
Xsolla is seeking a
Head of Investor Capital and Relations
to build the firm's Asia Pacific capital franchise from Singapore. The region combines the world's deepest gaming markets with some of its most sophisticated institutional capital, and this seat exists to connect the two for the firm: sovereign and state linked investors in Singapore, institutional investors and strategics across Korea and Japan, capital markets counterparties in Hong Kong and Australia, and the regional family office community.
The corporate title for this seat is Director, with a defined path to Executive Director tied to franchise milestones, including the 2027 regional coverage plan and team build. There are no direct reports initially; regional analyst support and a 2027 hiring plan are owned by this seat.
The Head of Investor Capital and Relations, APAC will be based in Singapore, in office, leveraging Xsolla's existing APAC presence, and will report to the Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships. The role requires travel of approximately 40 to 50 percent across Southeast Asia, North Asia and Australia, with periodic travel to Los Angeles. This is a full time position; Employment Pass sponsorship is available, with the package structured with local counsel.
Expressions of Interest
Xsolla welcomes confidential conversations with qualified candidates and trusted introductions. Please direct expressions of interest, together with a resume and a short note on relevant experience, to the Xsolla Talent Acquisition team via the application button linked below.
Role Overview
As Head of Investor Capital and Relations, APAC, you will own senior institutional coverage across the region, spanning sovereign and state linked investors, pensions, insurers, asset managers, funds of funds and family offices, alongside gaming, technology and media strategics across Korea, Japan and Greater China. You will own the coverage map, the relationships and the regional plan, operating with a global reporting line and the support of the firm's existing APAC operating footprint.
This is a builder's role. You will establish the coverage standards, relationship infrastructure and regional plan that allow Xsolla to engage APAC's institutional capital with discipline, while coordinating closely with counsel on marketing approach and applicable regulatory regimes across Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Institutional and Strategic Coverage
Own institutional coverage. Own senior coverage of APAC institutional capital, including sovereign and state linked investors, pensions and insurers, asset managers, funds of funds and regional family offices, with complete, current records and documented access paths in the firm's relationship platform.
Build strategic coverage. Build dedicated coverage of gaming, technology and media strategics across Korea, Japan and Greater China as limited partners, co-investors and transaction counterparties.
Map the counterparties. Map each priority institution's decision architecture, including mandate criteria, allocation cadence, co-investment appetite and approval process, and maintain that intelligence as a living asset.
Capital Formation and Transactions
Lead regional fundraising. Lead regional pre-marketing and fundraising support for the firm's investment vehicles within each jurisdiction's private placement and offering regimes, coordinating with counsel on the marketing approach for Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Australia.
Own diligence processes. Originate and manage institutional diligence processes end to end, including DDQ coordination, data room support and operational due diligence visits.
Support transactions. Support cross border financing and strategic transaction conversations alongside the Americas and MENA coverage teams and fund principals.
Franchise and Regional Platform
Build the region's presence. Build the firm's presence across the region's priority investment and gaming industry forums; run the APAC events calendar and convert presence into qualified pipeline.
Develop the regional plan. Develop the 2027 regional coverage plan, including market prioritization, any additional country coverage and the regional hiring sequence, for approval by the Group Head.
Set coverage standards. Establish coverage and CRM standards for the region and enforce the group's interaction logging discipline.
Risk and Controls
Ensure regulatory compliance. Ensure all regional marketing and offering activity complies with applicable regimes and the firm's policies, in coordination with counsel, including Singapore's frameworks for fund offers to institutional and accredited investors.
Maintain counterparty awareness. Maintain rigorous counterparty awareness, including KYC, AML and sanctions screening coordination, and escalate reputational risk considerations early.
Candidate Profile
Experience
8 or more years of progressive experience in APAC institutional coverage, capital formation, investment banking or investor relations at a bank, asset manager, placement agent or sovereign investor, including significant client facing responsibility.
Demonstrable relationships across Singapore's institutional community and at least one of the Korean, Japanese or Greater China institutional or strategic investor markets, with a referenceable record of capital raised or partnerships executed.
Sector experience across gaming, interactive entertainment, technology or media, or coverage of strategics in those sectors, is a clear advantage.
Domain Expertise
Working knowledge of regional fund marketing and private placement practice, including Singapore's institutional and accredited investor frameworks.
Experience marketing alternative strategies such as credit, special situations or private equity to Asian institutions is preferred.
Experience operating under the Monetary Authority of Singapore regulatory framework, including holding or having held representative status with a capital markets services license holder or operating within an applicable exemption, is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Proven ability to operate independently on a global platform, with disciplined pipeline management, reporting and follow through across time zones.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; professional fluency in Mandarin, Japanese or Korean is preferred.
A high degree of ethics and integrity, with a clean regulatory and disciplinary history.
Education and Credentials
A bachelor's degree is required.
A CFA or CAIA charter, or equivalent, is strongly preferred.

These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.

What We Value
Ownership
You own problems end to end. You move fast, act like an owner, and thrive in ambiguity. You've led complex projects before, whether officially or not, and you're ready to do it again.

What we're looking for
Expert-level competency in at least one established programming language, with strong software design and API design fundamentals
Experience building and evolving mature, production-quality software, with a clear understanding of how systems fit together and how other developers consume them
Exceptional fluency with current LLMs and agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Codex) - using AI to understand unfamiliar codebases, work across languages, and run things in parallel or autonomously
High autonomy in ambiguous environments - you clarify the problem, validate its value, and drive implementation without close direction
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly
Ability to work effectively across multiple languages and stacks; prior experience in every language we support (Swift, Kotlin, Node, Go) is not required
Nice to have: experience building external-facing SDKs, APIs, or developer tools; experience owning CI, testing, versioning, or release infrastructure; or forward-deployed engineering experience.
Compensation & Benefits
We believe in transparency. Starting salary for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 USD (or equivalent in local currency) depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment. In addition to base salary, this role includes an equity grant in the form of stock options, so you share in the success you help build.

Our inclusive benefits package supports your well-being and growth, including 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and supplemental insurance premiums for you and your family. We also offer 16 weeks paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, stipends for remote work and wellness, a professional development budget, and more.

An overview of this role
As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Duo Chat team, focused on Chat Engine, you'll build the core AI capabilities behind GitLab Duo Chat, the natural-language and agentic interface to the GitLab DevSecOps platform. Much of your work will involve building flow components and agentic flows in the Flow Registry, the Python framework built on LangGraph within our Duo Workflow Service that powers agentic chat, and integrating them with the GitLab Rails monolith.
You'll own complex backend features from start to finish across both services. You'll integrate large language models and orchestrate multi-agent flows so customers can work faster and more securely across the software development lifecycle. This work sits where GitLab's core platform meets its AI strategy, and reliability, performance, and answer quality directly shape the customer experience.
What you’ll do
Design and build flow components and agentic flows in the Flow Registry using Python and LangGraph within the Duo Workflow Service. These reusable building blocks power agentic Duo Chat and, increasingly, other AI features across GitLab.
Develop, ship, and maintain backend features for GitLab Duo Chat across the Python Duo Workflow Service and the GitLab Rails monolith in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
Integrate new generative AI models, providers, tools, and multi-agent orchestration patterns into Duo Chat to expand its capabilities and improve answer quality.
Design, implement, and review GraphQL and Representational State Transfer (REST) application programming interfaces (APIs) and related monolith logic, including chat entry points, permissions, and foundational-flow registration. Keep contracts with frontend clients and host systems reliable and clear.
Improve debugging, observability, and test coverage using pytest, RSpec, and related frameworks; track and improve latency, error rates, and test coverage so AI-powered chat workflows stay reliable at scale.
Collaborate with Product, User Experience (UX), frontend, and AI specialists to refine requirements and deliver high-quality improvements through iteration.
Document standards, patterns, and learnings with other engineers, raising the bar for safe AI integration and evidence-driven engineering.
Participate in Tier 2 on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues, contribute to root cause analysis, and strengthen resiliency.
What you’ll bring
Significant experience building and maintaining production Python backends, including APIs, data models, and asynchronous or long-running workloads.
Practical experience designing and shipping AI-powered, agentic backend features, including large language model integration, tool or function calling, and multi-agent orchestration. You use sound judgment about large language model limitations and safe use in production.
Working proficiency in Ruby on Rails, or a strong willingness to learn it. Duo Chat integrates deeply with the GitLab monolith for chat entry points, GraphQL, permissions, and flow registration, and most of GitLab's codebase is written in Ruby.
Proficiency designing or extending REST or GraphQL APIs with attention to scalability, maintainability, and backward compatibility.
Strong Structured Query Language (SQL) skills and familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including efficient queries and data modeling.
Ability to find, diagnose, and prevent performance and reliability problems at scale.
Experience solving technical problems of high scope and complexity and advocating for quality, security, and performance improvements across your team.
Openness to learning and collaborating in an async-first, distributed team, applying transferable skills from related technologies or domains. Hands-on experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph or LangChain is a strong plus.
About the team
We're part of GitLab's AI Engineering organization and own the AI-powered chat experience embedded across the GitLab platform. Chat Engine is the backend-focused team within the Duo Chat group.
We're backend, frontend, and AI specialists working asynchronously across time zones, using issues, merge requests, and documentation as our main collaboration tools. Our focus is to expand generative and agentic AI capabilities, improve the performance and reliability of chat workflows, and strengthen the debugging and testing foundations that let us run AI features safely at scale.

Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, Agentic SDLC
An overview of this role
GitLab’s Forward Deployed Engineering team is a field-situated product engineering function focused on strategic customer outcomes, artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, and direct contributions to GitLab’s product. This isn't a traditional field engineering, solutions architecture, or professional services role. As a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work closely with customers while maintaining the technical standards and contribution discipline of a Staff-level product engineer.
You'll work where strategic customer urgency, complex technical ambiguity, and GitLab product execution intersect. You'll partner directly with strategic customers and teams across Product, Engineering, Support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Solutions Architecture (SA), Customer Success Architecture (CSA), Customer Success Management (CSM), and Professional Services. You'll diagnose and resolve high-impact adoption blockers, contribute production-quality fixes and features, and turn what you learn into repeatable patterns for GitLab and its customers.
Why this role exists
Strategic customers sometimes encounter challenges that are too broad, deep, urgent, or cross-functional for any single team to own from start to finish. These challenges may involve product gaps, performance degradation, scale bottlenecks, AI governance, adoption blockers, architectural constraints, Git usage patterns, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) complexity, application programming interface (API) automation, security requirements, or operational instability.
Forward Deployed Engineering provides technical stewardship in these moments. The team doesn't simply observe, report, or escalate. You'll engage directly, diagnose the underlying technical problem, collaborate with the right teams, contribute code or technical solutions where appropriate, and transition the outcome into normal ownership once the customer is stable and the learning can be reused.
What you’ll do
Product contribution
Contribute production-quality code to GitLab’s product and adjacent systems.

What this role is not
This role isn't:
A generic field engineering role.
A proof-of-concept factory.
A replacement for Solutions Architecture, Customer Success Architecture, Customer Success Management, Professional Services, Support, SRE, Product, or Engineering.
A customer-specific customization function.
Unbilled Professional Services.
A requirements-gathering role that only escalates to Product.
An AI evangelism role disconnected from product execution.
Success measures
Success in this role may include:
Stabilizing strategic customer adoption or retention risks.
Fixing product bugs or contributing features.
Removing AI adoption blockers for strategic accounts.
Creating reusable implementation patterns and transitioning them to long-term owners.
Producing or enabling Well-Architected Frameworks, whitepapers, webinars, or technical narratives.
Resolving cross-functional customer challenges without creating permanent dependency on Forward Deployed Engineering.
Equipping Product, Engineering, Support, CSA, CSM, Professional Services, and SA teams with better guidance based on learning from the field.
Increasing adoption and effective use of GitLab capabilities, especially GitLab Duo and GitLab Duo Agent Platform, in targeted accounts.
About the team
The Forward Deployed Engineering team connects strategic customer needs with GitLab product execution. The team works directly with customers and across GitLab to resolve complex adoption challenges, contribute durable product improvements, and create reusable technical guidance. Its goal is to stabilize urgent situations, improve the product, and transition ongoing ownership to the appropriate team rather than create a permanent dependency.
Ideal candidate profile
You're a Staff-level product or platform engineer who can operate in the field without becoming field-only. You're comfortable reading traces, writing production code, debugging architecture, discussing AI governance, leading a customer technical session, opening a merge request, outlining a whitepaper, and coordinating across teams to achieve a strategic customer outcome.
You're not simply a strong communicator with technical awareness. You're a credible engineer with the judgment, presence, and narrative ability to turn customer reality into product contributions, adoption guidance, and company-level thought leadership.
We welcome candidates with different backgrounds and levels of experience. Many successful candidates don't meet every qualification. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply and let our recruiting team assess your application.

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
Figma's distribution partnerships team is passionate about unlocking new sources of revenue and hyper-scaling growth through the power of strategic alliances. We are looking for an experienced senior partnerships leader to manage and develop our AMER distribution partnerships team while personally owning Figma's most strategically complex global alliances - including our relationships with global system integrators and high-priority service partners.
This is a player/coach role: you will both lead and develop a team of Distribution Partner Managers and personally own the execution of Figma's most important and complex GTM partner relationships. You will build partner program playbooks, establish engagement frameworks, and help define the future of the distribution partnerships function as Figma continues to scale globally.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
Lead, develop, and manage a team of 2 to 3 Distribution Partner Managers across North America (this may grow over time based on results and quantifiable impact); provide consistent coaching, clear goal-setting, and formal performance management
Personally own and manage complex partner relationships with large services organizations (such as global SIs, major agencies, and consulting firms); includes executive-level engagement, mutual success planning, and driving positive post-sale outcomes / partner-influenced revenue
Build program playbooks, partner engagement frameworks, and onboarding models from scratch - creating scalable tools that the global distribution partner team can adopt and execute
Develop new partner strategies for emerging, high-growth opportunities at Figma; includes identifying new types of distribution partners and leading early-stage partner recruitment
Represent the distribution partnerships function with VP+ stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, GTM Operations, and Product; serve as a senior voice for the partner program in cross-functional forums
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
12+ years of professional experience in partnerships, business development, strategic alliances, or related GTM roles
3+ years of direct people management experience, including full performance cycles (goal-setting, coaching, performance management) for ICs at a high-growth SaaS company
Proven track record of personally managing executive-level relationships with global SIs or Tier-1 consulting firms while driving measurable commercial outcomes
Experience building partner programs or engagement frameworks from scratch - not just inheriting and refining mature, established programs
Demonstrated player / coach mentality - comfortable being both a manager and a hands-on individual contributor at the same time
Strong cross-functional influence skills - represent the partner function credibly with VP-level stakeholders to successfully gain buy-in for partner investments
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
Knowledge of US Federal or public sector partner motions and procurement processes
Experience developing partner programs in Latin America, including Spanish and / or Portuguese language skills
Previous time inside a global SI or professional services firm in a client-delivery or alliance management capacity
Familiarity with UX/UI design principles, collaboration tools, and AI-supported digital product development workflows
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
