- Set modeling standards within FP&A and provide technical mentorship to junior analysts.
- Drive automation of recurring planning and reporting workflows, leveraging planning tools (Pigment) and AI-enabled solutions.
YOUR PROFILE:
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a highly analytical role, ideally in a high-growth or subscription-based business; consulting or investment banking backgrounds welcome if combined with hands-on modeling ownership.
- Proven track of owning mindset of company-level revenue or topline model, not just contributing to one.
- Deep familiarity with subscription metrics: recurring revenue, cohorts, LTV, churn, retention, and customer acquisition economics, beyond high-level financial KPIs.
- Demonstrated experience simplifying or rebuilding complex legacy models into scalable structures.
- Hypothesis-driven mindset: you form a view, test it against data, and defend it with senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills; able to translate stakeholders input into scalable model structures with model output designed for management and Board audiences.
- Expert in Excel and Google Sheets; experience with planning tools (Pigment a strong plus) and cloud-based finance systems.
- SQL is a strong plus; Python, R, or BI tools are welcome.
- Confident with financial statements and accounting principles, able to link revenue drivers to P&L outcomes.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior team members is a plus.
WHY TAXFIX?
- A chance to do meaningful, people-centric work with an international team of passionate professionals.

- A monthly allowance to spend on an extensive range of services that you can use and roll over as flexibly as you like.
- Employee stock options for all employees—because everyone deserves to benefit from the success they help to create.
- 30 annual vacation days and flexible working hours.

About the role
🤓
At seQura, we are looking for someone who doesn't just animate scenes, but brings ideas to life.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a
Senior Motion & Graphic Designer
to shape how seQura looks, moves and feels. Motion is becoming a core part of how we express our brand, and this role will elevate seQura's positioning through every visual touchpoint, becoming a creative reference across the company.
This role goes far beyond moving elements on a screen. We are looking for someone with a strong visual culture across motion, photography and graphic design; someone who can read an image before animating it, understand what makes a story work, and find the right rhythm to make an idea move.
You will work closely with our creative and marketing teams to turn concepts into compelling visual stories that build the seQura brand, while also bringing your expertise to projects across the company.
What challenges you'll be solving
🚀
Turn concepts into high-quality motion graphics, video and visual storytelling that go beyond campaigns: work that repositions the company and strengthens its brand narrative.
Define and document seQura's motion language: principles, timing and transitions that other designers and partners can apply consistently.
Join projects from the idea stage, shaping concepts alongside copywriters and other creatives rather than executing finished briefs.
Build visual narratives where rhythm, composition, photography, typography and movement all serve a clear purpose.
Own every project from concept to final delivery, with consistency and attention to detail at each step.
Bring structure to the process: manage timelines and deliverables without lowering the creative bar.
Integrate AI tools into your workflow to explore faster and push further, never as a substitute for judgement or craft.
Become a trusted reference for teams across seQura, contributing wherever your expertise adds value.
Keep exploring new tools, formats and approaches that raise how we communicate as a brand.
What we offer
😎
We have a strong and sustainable foundation, where we provide a secure and reliable workplace. You have the freedom and trust to make the best contribution possible.
One of our most valued strengths by our employees is our fellowship and supportive culture, which fosters a sense of belonging by working closely with our values. With us, you will have challenging projects to work on and push your skills and knowledge.
In addition, we are very proud of the unique office we have, which offers a comfortable and inspiring environment to work in with everything you need.
23 vacation days + 2 days of free disposal per year.
Professional development workshops or seminars.
Flexible compensation plan for transportation, restaurants, and kindergarten with Cobee.
Health insurance discounts with Sanitas and Adeslas.
Urban mobility by using your own bike with Kleta.
Free access to healthy, organic, and sustainable fruits and snacks.
Moreover, we offer a
Wellness Program
that embraces a holistic approach by covering 6 areas (occupational, physical, financial, emotional, social, environmental consciousness). Each area will include a variety of activities, and you'll be able to choose from 34 different activities that best meet your needs to configure a plan that best works for you.
What you’ll need
🫱🏼🫲🏽
A portfolio that shows craft and systems thinking together, not just showreel moments.
Senior-level judgment: you know which risks are worth taking, and which aren't.
Conceptual depth: the ability to connect motion, brand and interaction into one coherent experience.
Fluency with AI and generative tools for image, motion and audio generation.
Expert in motion & editing tools
:
it's not about which tools you prefer, but how well you use them. Think After Effects for motion, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve to finish a project end to end, Cinema 4D/Blender for 3D, but if you achieve the same results in a different way, that works too.
A solid foundation in composition and photography: you understand what makes an image work before you animate it.
Sharp judgement, connecting every visual decision to the idea behind the piece.
Experience developing ideas with copywriters and other creative profiles, not just receiving briefs.
Real ownership: you manage projects, meet deadlines and answer for your work end to end.
Flexibility to move across projects, formats and teams in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English
Nice to have
Experience in fintech, technology or other fast-paced environments.
Experience in Figma.
About you
You notice when an animation feels just a little too slow.
You know when an easing curve doesn't quite feel right.
You care about craft but understand how to ship quickly.
You're comfortable working in ambiguity, helping define patterns before they exist.
Most importantly, you believe motion isn't decoration. It's a critical part of how great products communicate.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Millions of small businesses and their advisors use Xero reports and insights to decide what to do next. AI is changing how people understand their finances faster than any shift since the cloud, and Reporting & Insights is where Xero meets that change. Over the next few years we’re evolving reporting and insights for the agentic era, where customers ask an AI about their numbers as often as they open a Balance Sheet. As the senior technical leader for Reporting & Insights, you’ll set the multi-year technical direction, from the reports businesses file to the insights that tell them what to do next. You’ll also help hire the first Reporting & Insights engineers in Vancouver and decide how they work.
THE TECHNICAL CHALLENGES
Set a 3-year architecture across Reporting & Insights. Reporting and Xero Analytics run on a mix of modern services and systems that have grown with Xero over many years. You’ll define one target state across both, decide how they build on Xero’s data platform, and secure the investment to get there. You’ll design for high throughput, low latency and resilience, so reporting and insights scale with Xero’s largest and most complex customers.
Evolve the platform without breaking trust. Accountants file tax returns from these numbers, so correctness comes first. You’ll lead the evolution of the data foundations behind about 150 reports, sequenced across teams and organisational boundaries. Customers keep the numbers they trust, on foundations built for what comes next.
Make reporting and insights AI-native. AI changes what reporting and insights can be: answers to plain-language questions, insights that reach customers where they work, and analysis that once took an accountant hours. Every answer still has to reconcile to the ledger. You’ll define the foundations: how agents query financial data safely, how answers stay grounded and explainable, and how we prove correctness at scale. We want teams across Xero to build on what you create.
IMPACT
In your first six months you’ll own the Reporting & Insights architecture and set a direction for the data platform and the evolution of both products that engineering, Product and leadership back.
At twelve months you will have:
- Set a multi-year technical strategy for Reporting & Insights
- Delivered new foundations for the first major report families, setting Reporting & Insights up for its next phase of growth
- Opened Reporting & Insights to bigger businesses, with performance that scales to our largest customers
- Put shared foundations for AI-native reporting and insights into production
- Grown the Lead and Senior Engineers around you and raised the technical bar across the group
Beyond year one, you’ll shape where Reporting & Insights goes next, and help steer Xero’s wider data and AI direction alongside the leadership team.
OWNERSHIP
You’re the senior technical voice for Reporting & Insights. You own the multi-year technical strategy and target architecture, and you make the calls that cross team and domain boundaries. You shape the roadmap with the GM and Product, decide where we invest in foundational capabilities, and align teams across regions behind one direction. You stay hands-on where it counts: reference implementations, foundational frameworks and the hardest architecture problems
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll report to the GM of Engineering. You’ll partner with the engineering managers and teams across Reporting & Insights, who know these products and their data in depth. You’ll shape the product and AI roadmap with the Reporting & Insights Product leads. You’ll also work with Principal Engineers and platform teams across Xero, including the accounting core and data platform teams that own systems we depend on.
WHAT YOU BRING
Must-have:
- You’ve set technical strategy for a domain or portfolio over a 2 to 3 year horizon, and aligned multiple teams behind it.
- You’ve led the evolution of a large, high-traffic, correctness-critical system across organisational boundaries.
- You have depth in high-throughput, low-latency, resilient distributed systems and data-heavy architecture, and you still contribute hands-on where it matters.
- You connect external shifts, AI above all, to product and architecture strategy, and you know where LLMs and agents belong in a system.
- You grow leaders. You’ve mentored Lead and Senior Engineers into bigger roles, and your writing turns complex direction into decisions people act on.
Nice to have:
- Financial, reporting or analytics domain experience
- LLM or agent-based features in production
- .NET and AWS
- A presence in the wider tech community through talks, writing or open source
HOW WE WORK
We’re bold in our vision and pragmatic in execution, delivering useful improvements along the way rather than waiting for a large rewrite. We invest in AI to learn faster and focus effort on higher-value problems, while engineers stay accountable for what they ship. We use shared frameworks to avoid reinvention, leaving teams room to innovate. Engineers own their work, including quality, reliability, and on-call. Leaders set context and priorities, and engineers help shape the solutions.
WHERE WE WORK
We offer a hybrid model that blends the flexibility of working from home with the collaboration of the office, including designated boost days in our modern office spaces. This role is open to hybrid candidates in Vancouver, British Columbia, or San Mateo, California. We also welcome applications from candidates across Canada interested in relocating to Vancouver, and from remote candidates in Seattle, Washington.

This position requires a leader who can operate as both a senior strategic advisor and a hands-on builder: setting direction, developing talent and personally engaging in the most complex and high-impact work.

Create a high-performing team culture grounded in accountability, curiosity, collaboration and sound judgment.
Assess future capability and resource needs as the Strategy & Planning function matures.

Lead the planning and coordination of recurring business forums, including:
Management Review Process activities
Quarterly and periodic business reviews

Build an integrated executive view of business performance, risks and opportunities.
Partner with Finance and functional leaders to establish meaningful KPIs and performance measures.

Raise the quality and consistency of analysis used in senior leadership decision-making.
Strategic Initiative Leadership
Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that span studios, functions or SIE organizations.
Establish clear objectives, decision rights, milestones and measures of success.
Assign members of the Strategy & Planning team to priority initiatives based on business need and individual capability.
Coordinate work across teams without assuming ownership that appropriately sits within existing functions.
Surface dependencies, resolve ambiguity and escalate issues when leadership decisions are required.
Ensure strategic initiatives are sequenced appropriately so the organization is not overloaded by competing demands.
Step into ambiguous or high-risk work where direct senior leadership involvement is required.
Cross-Functional Alignment
Build strong partnerships across Production, Finance, Development Strategy, Technology, Portfolio Management, HR and studio leadership.
Connect information and priorities across teams that may otherwise operate independently.
Support alignment between Studio Business Group priorities and broader SIE planning and operating rhythms.
Help clarify roles, ownership and decision rights when work crosses organizational boundaries.
Facilitate productive executive discussions around competing priorities and trade-offs.
Represent the Strategy & Planning function in senior-level cross-SIE planning and operating forums.

The successful candidate must be able to move fluidly between:
Advising senior executives
Setting direction for the Strategy & Planning function
Developing and coaching team members
Leading complex cross-functional initiatives
Reviewing and elevating the quality of team output
Personally producing analysis and recommendations when the work is highly sensitive, ambiguous or strategically important
The role requires strong judgment regarding what to own directly, what to delegate to the team and what should remain with established functional leaders.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in business strategy, business operations, strategic planning, management consulting, corporate development, portfolio strategy or a related field.
Demonstrated experience leading and developing a high-performing strategy, operations, consulting or planning team.
Experience directly advising C-suite or equivalent senior executives and supporting complex enterprise-level decisions.
