Location: San Francisco, CA About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Anthropic's Life Sciences team is building a research group focused on biological discoveries by combining AI with hands-on biological research. We're seeking a research scientist with deep expertise in antibody process development and manufacturing to join the team. Our goal is to speed up progress in the life sciences by an order of magnitude, and this role puts that mission into practice. You'll be an expert in making antibodies, with hands-on experience expressing, purifying, characterizing, and formulating them, from small screening batches to material for IND-enabling studies. Above all, you'll close the loop between AI-generated hypotheses and experimental data to share with the community. Working alongside AI researchers and engineers, you'll build and run the workflows that turn AI-designed sequences into well-characterized protein, and pressure-test AI predictions of expression, stability, and manufacturability against real data. This role is fully on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Key responsibilities Develop and run expression and purification processes for antibodies and other recombinant proteins end to end, including transient and stable expression in mammalian cells (HEK293, CHO), affinity capture (Protein A, IMAC), polishing chromatography, buffer exchange, and formulation Characterize what we make with the right analytical panel, for example SEC, CE-SDS, icIEF, LC-MS (intact mass, peptide mapping, glycans), DLS, thermal stability, endotoxin, and binding kinetics (SPR, BLI) Build the laboratory for this work, including selecting, installing, and qualifying equipment and setting up workflows that scale from plate-based production of hundreds of designs to gram quantities of a lead Evaluate AI-designed antibodies for manufacturability (titer, aggregation, stability under stress, viscosity, chemical liabilities), drive them to experimental readout, and feed results back to research teams Plan the chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) path toward IND-enabling studies, from cell line development and scale-up to analytical methods and stability, and coordinate technology transfer and manufacturing with external contract manufacturers Ensure experimental data across programs is high quality and well documented, including batch records, methods, raw data, and failure modes Communicate findings clearly to biology, AI research, and life sciences audiences Minimum qualifications PhD in biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or a related field Demonstrated experience in process development and manufacturing of antibodies or other recombinant proteins, including material supplied for IND-enabling or clinical studies, with recent, sustained hands-on laboratory work Comfort navigating ambiguity and defining problems in a rapidly evolving research environment Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams, with strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred qualifications 5+ years of biologics process development experience beyond the PhD Depth in both upstream (cell line development, bioreactors) and downstream (chromatography, filtration) development, with working knowledge of analytical and formulation development Experience setting up a protein production or process development laboratory, including laboratory automation and high-throughput, plate-based expression and purification Experience directing technology transfer and GMP manufacturing at contract development and manufacturing organizations, with contributions to the CMC sections of an IND Statistics or coding skills, for example design of experiments or Python for data analysis and automation Experience using AI or ML tools in the life sciences Publications and/or patents demonstrating scientific impact The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $300,000 — $320,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. Location: Remote-Friendly (Travel Required) | San Francisco, CA About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Claude is trained and served on hardware in data centers Anthropic operates and in sites partners build and run for us. DCSE secures that footprint: the sites, the hardware moving through them, and the people and vendors who touch it. You'll be the engineer for one or more security domains end to end: design the controls, build the systems that enforce and verify them, and set the technical standard the rest of the team and our partners build to. The engineering is in the controls and the tooling that proves them. The goal is security that runs itself: requirements kept as code and checked automatically, evidence, chain of custody and access continuously verified, and tools and agents in place of manual reviews. We favor simple, standard controls and tools that can be verified over elaborate ones. We use Claude throughout our engineering workflow and expect you to as well. This is a foundational role: you'll shape how our security engineering is built and scaled. The team's physical security systems engineers design and test the site security systems themselves; this role engineers the controls around them and across the domains beyond the facility itself: hardware custody, media, personnel and vendors. You'll work with the rest of DCSE, Anthropic's compute, data center operations, legal, compliance and procurement teams, and directly with data center operators, hardware vendors and logistics providers. The role involves regular travel to data center sites, which are critical infrastructure, and may include on-call for security events at them. Key responsibilities Security domains, end to end: own one or more of physical security at partner-operated and Anthropic-operated sites, hardware supply chain and chain of custody, media protection and sanitization, personnel security and site access, third-party and vendor security assessment, and maintenance and contingency controls Tools, automation and AI agents: build the internal tools, automation and agents the team runs on: evidence collection, access reviews, asset and custody tracking, partner intake. When a process keeps costing people time, you build the tool that retires it Security review for new sites, leases and vendors: find the gaps in the design, the contract and the operator's procedures, write the security terms and exhibits, and verify the fixes after signing Requirements and procedures as code: write requirements and procedures that a partner can build to and an assessor can test, kept as code in a version-controlled repository Site and supplier assessment: assess sites and suppliers against those requirements, on site and from evidence; document deviations and engineer the compensating control where a requirement can't be met as written Continuous compliance evidence: tie controls to the compliance frameworks we and our partners are assessed against, with evidence always current so an assessment pulls from it directly Security event response: respond to security events at sites (intrusion alarms, custody breaks, access violations) with operations teams and site operators; write up what happened and fix the control that allowed it Minimum qualifications Have engineered a security control domain end to end: designed the controls, built or integrated the systems that enforce them, and verified they work Read and review code, design the data systems behind security tooling, and build automation (often with AI coding agents) using Git and code review Have done security work hands-on for data centers, critical infrastructure or a large hardware fleet, in at least one of the domains under Key responsibilities Have applied a control framework such as NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001 or SOC 2 to real systems and produced the evidence for it Write requirements a third party can build to and an assessor can test: each states what must be true, how it is verified and what evidence shows it Preferred qualifications Experience across several of the domains above rather than one Experience at sites you did not fully control: cloud, colocation or GPU cloud operators Experience with federal assessment regimes based on NIST SP 800-53, including supply chain (NIST SP 800-161) and media sanitization (NIST SP 800-88) guidance; have produced evidence an assessor accepted Have built governance, risk and compliance (GRC) or evidence automation: automated control checks, asset or custody tracking, questionnaire and assessment pipelines, docs-as-code workflows Have run incident response at physical sites: alarms, investigations, after-action fixes Have worked in live data halls and on active construction sites, and can follow a method of procedure Experience redlining contract security language with legal and procurement counterparts Experience with international sites: per-country personnel screening and staffing restrictions, data residency, and export controls on hardware Have built AI agents or automation that replaced recurring manual security work The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $320,000 — $405,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you. APPLYING TO RENDER We're seeking candidates who possess high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we strive to improve both individually and collectively. We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team. We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply and understand that not all successful candidates will meet each requirement listed. Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time. ABOUT THE ROLE More than 7 million developers use Render, and most of them found us through other developers. We're building a team to further drive this developer led growth. As our first Developer Programs Lead, you'll own Render's social presence, developer community, developer programs, and developer voice. You'll set the strategy across all four areas, decide where to hire, where to use agencies or creators, and in what order. You'll report to Raph Terrier, Head of Developer Experience. The DX team owns content: tutorials, videos, docs, and articles. Your team owns how Render sounds, how that content reaches developers, and the programs and community around it. You'll also work closely with our VP of Marketing, product marketing, and product. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build and lead the team - Set the strategy and goals for social, community, developer programs, and developer brand. - Decide what to build first, what to hand to agencies or contractors, and when to hire. Then hire and manage the team. - Report on what's working to Developer Experience and Marketing leadership, and change course when something isn't. Own Social - Run Render's accounts on X, LinkedIn, and Reddit yourself at first. Write the posts, reply to developers, and join the conversations where Render has something useful to say. - Set the channel strategy: where we show up, how often, and what we measure. - Handle the hard moments in public, including outages, pricing changes, and sharp criticism, with the right people inside Render. Grow our Developer Community - Build Render's presence in Discord, Reddit, and the other places developers gather, with the DX team. - Run AMAs, livestreams, and community events with DX. - Bring what you hear from developers back to Product and Engineering. Run developer programs - Build programs that grow Render's reach through other people: developer creators, ambassadors, referrals, speaking, and employee advocacy. Own the developer voice - Define Render's voice and style for developers, and write it down so engineers, product managers, and marketers sound like Render when they write or post. - Work with the VP of Marketing and product marketing on Render's external narrative and how each launch shows up in public. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 7+ years across social, community, developer marketing, or brand, including time building or leading a function at a growing company. - Experience hiring and leading a team, or building a function from early stage with a clear plan for who to add and when. - Recent hands-on ownership of a company's social channels. You can show us accounts you ran and copy you wrote. - Experience building a developer community or program, with results you can explain. - Experience shaping a brand voice, and examples of how it changed the way a company sounded. - Fluency with developer audiences and enough technical comfort to write accurately about infrastructure, with the judgment to check with an engineer first. - You work without a playbook and with little direction across Marketing, Product, and Engineering. - Steady judgment when something goes wrong in public. NICE-TO-HAVES - Experience at a developer tools, cloud, or infrastructure company. - You've run a creator, influencer, or ambassador program. - An active personal presence on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, or another platform developers use. - Comfort on camera or behind a mic. If this role excites you but you don’t meet every single requirement, we’d still love to hear from you—your unique experience might be just what we need. BENEFITS - 4 weeks of paid vacation. - 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. We will also work with you to create a supportive plan of return. - Long-term disability, life insurance, and 401K plans. - 100% employer-paid medical coverage and 99% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for you and a dependent. FSAs and HSAs are available as well. - Monthly lifestyle stipend for wellness, mental health and therapy, hobbies, etc. - Monthly cell phone and internet subsidy. - Commuter benefits for Renders in the Bay Area, and home office stipends for remote Renders. - Continuous learning benefits & related support. This position is generally not eligible for new visa sponsorship. At Render's discretion, the business may sponsor existing visa transfers. Applicants who require sponsorship must receive business authorization. Render is an equal-opportunity employer. About the role As a Senior Software Engineer on the Life Sciences team, you'll build biology software that our own scientists and the wider research community can depend on, and you'll be one of the main people representing that work to computational biologists outside Anthropic. The Life Sciences team works to accelerate progress in biology with AI, combining frontier models with hands-on computational and experimental research. We want the tools, pipelines, datasets, and benchmarks we build in genomics and structural biology to be useful beyond our own projects, so we plan to release them to the community. Computational biology has a long tradition of open, shared software, and we want to contribute to it well. Every release should be something a researcher can install, run on their own data, and trust: correct on real inputs, validated against reference data and established methods, documented, versioned, and maintained after launch. You'll own that standard. You'll write a large share of the code yourself, decide when something is ready to ship, and stay with it once people start using it. You'll also be an active member of the biology software community: maintaining public repositories, answering issues, speaking at conferences and workshops, and bringing what you hear from researchers back into what we build next. We use Claude and AI coding agents heavily to build software, and we expect you to do the same across design, implementation, testing, and review. Code written by an agent is held to the same standard as code written by hand: you should understand it, test it, and measure its performance before it ships. We're looking for someone with deep software engineering experience who already works this way. The shape of the role is flexible. You might spend most of your time as an individual contributor, or you might lead a small group of engineers and scientists while continuing to contribute directly. Your focus can be genomics, structural biology, or both. Experience in other areas of computational biology is welcome, and we expect the work to range more widely over time. What matters most is a record of biology software that other people have adopted and relied on. This is a chance to shape how AI is put to work in biological research, on problems that matter for human health and scientific understanding. If building software that scientists trust is the work you want to do, we want to hear from you. Key responsibilities Design, build, and maintain biology software in genomics and structural biology (libraries, command-line tools, pipelines, datasets, and benchmarks) for use by researchers and AI agents, inside Anthropic and externally Own the path from research code to public release, including testing, validation against reference data and established tools, benchmarking, documentation, and packaging, and make the call on when something is ready to ship Maintain what we release: triage issues, review outside contributions, and manage breaking changes Represent the team in the biology community through conferences, workshops, tutorials, and direct work with researchers and maintainers, and turn what you learn about their needs into priorities for the team Partner with the team's computational and experimental scientists to turn research code into well-tested, reusable software Lead the technical direction of the projects you own through design review, code review, and mentoring, and, depending on your interests and the team's needs, lead a small team Build with Claude and AI coding agents as your default way of working, hold agent-written code to the same standard as your own, and set the team's practices for reviewing and validating it Minimum qualifications Have built, released, and maintained biology software that researchers outside your own group use, with evidence of adoption you can point to (for example public repositories, package downloads, citations, or use in other groups' pipelines) Have deep working expertise in genomics or structural biology, including the data types, file formats, standard tools, and common failure modes of at least one of these fields Are proficient in Python and comfortable working with large datasets in Linux and cloud or cluster computing environments Practice rigorous testing and release engineering: unit and integration tests, continuous integration, validation against reference data, packaging, and versioning Use AI coding tools as a central part of how you build software, and can show how you verify the correctness and performance of code you did not write by hand Have led a technical project with multiple contributors, setting direction and reviewing others' work while continuing to write code yourself Can explain technical work clearly to both biologists and engineers, in writing (documentation, tutorials) and in person (talks, workshops) Preferred qualifications Depth in both genomics and structural biology A record as the creator or a core maintainer of a widely used open-source tool in computational biology Experience managing or formally leading a team of engineers or scientists A graduate degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience Proficiency in a systems language such as Rust, C++, or C, and experience with performance work on large biological datasets Experience building software in other areas of computational biology, such as phylogenetics, proteomics, cheminformatics, or high-throughput screen analysis Experience shipping software built largely with AI coding agents, building agentic systems on large language models, or training machine learning models on biological sequence or structure data The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Location: San Francisco, CA | Seattle, WA About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Anthropic's global order-to-cash (O2C) function is scaling faster than the processes and systems behind it, across direct enterprise contracts, consumption-based commercial models, and third-party cloud marketplaces. We're looking for a Senior Manager, Order-to-Cash Assurance to make sure every order is priced, billed, collected, and recorded correctly, and that we can prove it. You'll be embedded in the O2C Transformation team, working closely with Order Management, AR & Collections, Revenue Accounting, Billing Engineering, and Go-to-Market. You'll design and run the pricing audits and accuracy measures that show us where we leak revenue or create rework, then fix the root cause at the source. You'll be the compliance advocate for global O2C, helping the business find the compliant way to yes, and often improving a process by removing steps rather than adding them. You'll thrive here if you treat accuracy and compliance as design problems and as a service to the business. You are firm when the risk is real, flexible when it isn't, and able to explain the difference. If you're energized by ambiguous, high-consequence operational problems at a company at the forefront of AI development, we'd like to hear from you. Key responsibilities Design and run recurring audit programs across the O2C lifecycle, including pricing audits, contract-to-invoice accuracy, credits, refunds and concessions, and cash application Define accuracy metrics with baselines and targets, such as pricing and invoice error rates, first-pass yield, rework volume, and revenue leakage, and report them in a way teams can act on Trace findings to root cause and work with the owning team on the fix, whether in process, system configuration, or contract and pricing standards Move measurement from periodic sampling to continuous, system-driven monitoring as volume grows Partner with Order Management and AR operations as their quality partner, and help GTM, Deal Desk, Sales Operations, and Product understand what accurate and compliant looks like through clear published guidance that shortens the path to yes Review new processes, process changes, commercial models, and exceptions against policy and control requirements, with clear decision rights, service levels, and rationale that stay consistent across regions, entities, and channels Build compliance into new products, channels, commercial models, and regions by joining at intake rather than at the end Own O2C policies, control ownership, and segregation of duties Partner with Internal Audit, external auditors, Revenue Accounting, Tax, and Legal so audit cycles run smoothly, and resolve findings at the root cause Perform independent review activities, including month-end close reviews, so operations teams can focus on execution while independence is preserved Create reusable, pre-approved process patterns and guardrails so teams can move quickly without a bespoke review every time, harmonizing globally and localizing only where statute requires Work with Billing Engineering, GTM Systems, and Business Technology to build controls and accuracy checks into the systems themselves, so quality scales with volume Deploy AI and automation for exception detection, reconciliation, anomaly detection, and evidence collection Minimum qualifications Hands-on experience designing and running audit, quality, or revenue assurance programs within order-to-cash, billing operations, or quote-to-cash Working knowledge of revenue recognition (ASC 606) and experience partnering with internal and external auditors Experience with contracting systems, billing platforms, or ERP systems (for example Salesforce, Stripe, or Workday Financials) Proficiency with SQL or similar tools for analyzing and testing transactional data Experience using automation or AI for monitoring, testing, or reporting Preferred qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue operations, billing operations, revenue assurance, finance operations, or internal controls within order-to-cash at a public company A track record of simplifying processes, with concrete examples of steps or controls you removed while improving accuracy or strengthening the control environment A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field CPA, CIA, CISA, or CRISC certification, or Lean Six Sigma or PMP certification Experience building or scaling a SOX program, including readiness for public-company reporting requirements Experience with global, multi-entity operations, including statutory invoicing and tax considerations Experience serving both B2C and B2B customers, especially with consumption-based and subscription billing models through to collections Experience working with go-to-market, deal desk, and revenue operations organizations Strong cross-functional influence and clear communication about issues and decisions Understanding of AI industry business models and enterprise customer needs The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $190,000 — $230,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
