Location: Paris Workplace: Remote ABOUT MISTRAL Mistral provides full-stack AI solutions: from frontier models to developer tools, applications, and compute. We partner with enterprises tackling the hardest problems across high-stakes industries like finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector, co-creating customized AI systems that they can run on their terms. We are a dynamic, collaborative team passionate about AI and its potential to transform society. Our diverse workforce thrives in competitive environments and is committed to driving innovation. Our teams are distributed between Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. We are creative, low-ego and team-spirited. THE TEAM Mistral is building a sovereign AI cloud for Europe. Our customers in finance, healthcare, and the public sector run frontier models on European-jurisdiction infrastructure, and the Cloud Platform team builds the systems that make that possible — compute orchestration, Kubernetes, bare metal, storage, networking, and the datacenter fleet that runs it all. European Compute Units let enterprises commit to multi-year capacity on that infrastructure, and we are scaling toward a gigawatt of compute across Europe by 2030. You will design and ship the layer every sovereign AI deployment depends on. THE ROLE A datacenter is not a cloud until software makes it one. You will build the software that turns arriving hardware into accepted clusters. Cabling validation, burn-in, firmware, deployment validation, software stack install — all of it automated, none of it click-ops. Your KPI is time to acceptance: the hours between a rack being physically installed and it serving customer workloads. Across the industry that number is measured in weeks. You will drive it toward days, then hours, as we scale toward a gigawatt of compute across Europe. This is a hands-on engineering role at the intersection of hardware and software. Most of your time in the code and the architecture, some of it on datacenter floors, because the automation has to survive contact with the machines it runs on. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Build the delivery pipeline in Go: provisioning, configuration, validation, burn-in, network bring-up, software stack install. - Own time-to-acceptance and drive it down relentlessly — measure it, break it down, kill the slowest step first. - Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Hardware Design and Fleet Health — reliability starts at delivery. - Handle GPU fleets at scale: H100 and GB200-class nodes, InfiniBand and RoCE fabrics, and the failure modes they bring. - Partner with Product Managers and the datacenter org to plan delivery waves against capacity commitments. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - You have automated bare-metal fleets — you have written the software that turns racks into clusters. If you have done it by hand, you resented it and scripted it. - Hardware fluency: servers, GPUs, NICs, switches, firmware — you can read a parts list and a topology diagram. - 5+ years building backend or infrastructure systems. - Deep Linux: you are comfortable well below the application layer. - You have shipped production systems in Go. Not dabbled. Shipped. - Willing to travel to datacenter sites when the work demands it. - A low-ego, team-first mindset. We care less about your exact domain and more about whether you are the kind of technical force other engineers want to work alongside. WHAT WE OFFER We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and work-life balance. Benefits vary by country and may include healthcare coverage, parental leave, retirement plans, relocation support, wellness programs, meal and transportation allowances, and other location-specific perks. For the most up-to-date details on benefits available in your location, please refer to our Benefits page https://app.notion.com/p/mistralai/Benefits-at-Mistral-36e6ba59a7fe836b93dd01737fcc27ef?source=copy_link. Location: Boston, MA Workplace: OnSite At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock and inspire performance for life. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. WHOOP is hiring a Embedded Engineering Manager to build and lead a new embedded team for a next-generation wearable. The team owns the firmware that members interact with directly on the device: how it responds to them, how it presents their data, and how it feels to use every day. It takes that firmware from early prototypes through new product introduction and into production. This role combines technical leadership with people management. You will lead a team of full-time and contract firmware engineers and grow it as the program scales. You will take part in architecture decisions with the program's technical leads, review the team's code, and own its delivery schedule. You won't be the team's primary developer, but you will be close enough to the code to step in when it helps. You will work closely with Product, Design, Hardware, and Quality, and with the firmware teams building sensors, connectivity, and power on the same device. RESPONSIBILITIES - Build, manage, and mentor a team of embedded engineers through hiring, onboarding, feedback, performance management, and career development. - Direct the work of contract engineers alongside full-time staff, holding both to the same design and code quality bar. - Lead the team's delivery of the member's on-device experience firmware, from prototype through production release. - Partner with the program's technical lead and senior engineers on architecture for responsive, power-efficient firmware on resource-constrained multi-core hardware. - Serve as a player-coach who reviews code and shapes designs, contributing directly when the team needs it. - Own the team's planning and delivery cadence, keeping scope, dependencies, and risk visible to partners and leadership. - Partner with Product and Design to turn member experience goals into firmware requirements that fit the hardware's memory, compute, and power budgets. - Set engineering practices for testing, hardware-in-the-loop validation, release readiness, and field diagnostics. - Foster a culture of high standards, direct feedback, accountability, psychological safety, and continuous learning. QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of embedded firmware development in C or C++, including experience as an engineering manager or team lead responsible for mentorship, feedback, and career development. - Experience shipping firmware in a consumer electronics product, from early hardware bring-up through production. - Hands-on experience with an RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, or similar) on microcontrollers or embedded SoCs. - Experience optimizing firmware for performance, memory, and power on constrained hardware. - Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver in ambiguous environments, including early-stage hardware programs where requirements are still forming. - Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to Product, Design, and leadership. - Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work meets the same quality bar as personal contributions. This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office. Interested in the role, but don’t meet every qualification? We encourage you to still apply! At WHOOP, we believe there is much more to a candidate than what is written on paper, and we value character as much as experience.
