THE ROLE
Storage decides how fast agent sandboxes start and how safely they share data. Agents need a filesystem that thousands of sandboxes mount at the same time, with strict isolation and the consistency agents need. Agent context is mostly small files, so the access patterns look very different from storage built for large files.
The Agent Infra team builds Agent Drive, the distributed filesystem that agent sandboxes mount over FUSE, and the storage underneath it. The work uses tiered caching, replication, content-addressed data, and Linux filesystem internals. In September 2026, Baseten acquired Blaxel https://www.baseten.co/blog/blaxel-is-joining-baseten-to-build-the-future-of-agentic-cloud/, whose sandboxes and Agent Drive filesystem are the foundation for Baseten Sandboxes https://docs.baseten.co/sandboxes.
We are building a cloud, not just using one, so storage is designed for many tenants from day one. The team is small and ownership is big: we ship in weeks and months, not multi-year programs.
If you care about page cache coherency, FUSE, replication protocols, and content-addressable storage, we'd love to talk.
EXAMPLE INITIATIVES
- Blaxel is joining Baseten to build the future of agentic infrastructure https://www.baseten.co/blog/blaxel-is-joining-baseten-to-build-the-future-of-agentic-cloud/
- Baseten Sandboxes documentation https://docs.baseten.co/sandboxes
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement core Agent Drive features: metadata replication, volume placement, garbage collection, and FUSE client behavior
- Solve multi-attach correctness: cache coherency across many FUSE mounts of the same drive, dentry and inode invalidation, write ordering, and crash consistency
- Optimize tail latency on read and write paths, including page cache strategy, writeback, prefetch, and metadata RPC batching
- Build tenant isolation into the storage layer, including quota enforcement, blast-radius containment, and noisy-neighbor mitigation
- Own the storage side of sandbox startup and resume performance
- Build durable block storage for sandboxes alongside other Baseten storage teams
- Build observability into every layer, drive storage incidents end to end, and turn each one into a permanent fix
- Contribute upstream to the open-source storage projects we build on
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong systems programming background in Go, Rust, and/or C/C++, with comfort reading kernel code
- Deep understanding of Linux filesystem and storage internals: VFS, page cache, dentry and inode caches, FUSE, the block I/O stack, fsync semantics, and crash consistency
- Hands-on experience building distributed storage systems, content-addressable storage, or large-scale caching infrastructure
- Experience profiling I/O, memory, and RPC bottlenecks and optimizing tail latency in production
- Ability to debug correctness bugs that only show up under concurrency or partial failure
- You move fast and like owning a problem end to end on a small team
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with a distributed filesystem or object store such as JuiceFS, CephFS, or S3-compatible storage, or contributions to those projects
- Knowledge of consensus and replication protocols (Raft, leader leases, quorum reads)
- Experience with snapshot, clone, and copy-on-write filesystem features
- Experience operating multi-tenant storage with hard isolation requirements
- Familiarity with Linux performance tooling such as eBPF, io_uring, perf, ftrace, and blktrace
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)
- Paid parental leave
- Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot
- (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k)
- Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.

THE ROLE
Every agent on Baseten Sandboxes runs in its own microVM. Agents call models, reach tools and APIs, expose services, and more and more often talk to each other. Networking built into today's cloud providers was not designed for very large numbers of isolated machines that suspend, resume, and exchange data constantly.
The Agent Infra team builds its own networking stack for sandboxes, designed from the start for that scale. It runs in user space, with VPP (FD.io http://FD.io) as its main data plane technology, and is built from virtualized network functions (VNF/NFV): carrier-grade, low-latency packet processing designed for very large numbers of agents. In September 2026, Baseten acquired Blaxel https://www.baseten.co/blog/blaxel-is-joining-baseten-to-build-the-future-of-agentic-cloud/, whose sandboxes, storage, and networking are the foundation for Baseten Sandboxes https://docs.baseten.co/sandboxes.
You'll build multi-tenant virtual private networking that connects each customer's agents and services privately and securely, using modern overlay technologies.
We are building a cloud, not just using one. We want engineers who expose the network as a programmable API and write the code, not operators who push router and switch configuration. The team is small and ownership is big: we ship in weeks and months, not multi-year programs.
This role is separate from Baseten's GPU-to-GPU networking. Here you'll own how sandboxes connect to each other, to Baseten services, to customer networks, and to the internet.
If you've built user-space data planes, virtualized network functions, or multi-tenant cloud networking and want to design one for agents, we'd love to talk.
EXAMPLE INITIATIVES
- Blaxel is joining Baseten to build the future of agentic infrastructure https://www.baseten.co/blog/blaxel-is-joining-baseten-to-build-the-future-of-agentic-cloud/
- Securing the open frontier with NVIDIA OpenShell and Blaxel sandboxes https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-carbon/
- Baseten Sandboxes documentation https://docs.baseten.co/sandboxes
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build the user-space, VPP-based data plane that connects microVM sandboxes to each other, to Baseten services, and to the internet
- Build multi-tenant virtual private networking and overlays (for example EVPN, GENEVE, VXLAN) across regions
- Expose the network as a programmable API that the rest of the platform calls
- Cut latency and raise connection scale for agent-to-agent and agent-to-service traffic
- Build routing that sends each request to the nearest region and keeps connections working as sandboxes suspend and resume
- Build secure ingress and egress for sandboxes, including firewalling, static egress IPs, and custom domains with managed TLS
- Build L7 proxies for request inspection, filtering, secret injection, and auditing
- Own per-sandbox addressing, including IPv6, and network isolation between tenants
- Build observability for the packet path across guest, host, and network, and debug production issues end to end
- Work closely with the compute, storage, GPU infrastructure, and datacenter teams
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with user-space packet processing (DPDK, VPP, or similar) or virtualized network functions (VNF/NFV)
- Experience building multi-tenant networking in production (VXLAN, GENEVE, VRF)
- Experience building a software-defined network, overlay network, or packet-processing data plane in production
- You write production code: strong systems programming in Rust, Go, and/or C/C++. Network architects are welcome if they build, not only configure
- Experience building cloud networking as the provider, not only consuming a cloud provider's network
- Solid grounding in TCP/IP and routing
- Experience building or operating proxies, load balancers, or L4/L7 gateways at scale
- Experience debugging latency and throughput problems with packet captures, tracing, and profiling
- You move fast and like owning a problem end to end on a small team
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with VPP / FD.io http://FD.io, our main networking technology
- Experience with GENEVE or VXLAN overlays and EVPN
- Linux kernel networking: eBPF/XDP, netfilter or nftables, network namespaces
- Familiarity with virtual machine networking: virtio-net, vhost, TAP devices, or networking for Firecracker or Cloud Hypervisor
- Experience running IPv6 at scale
- Background in telecom user-plane or 5G core networking, or in low-latency trading networks
- Experience with multi-region traffic routing, anycast, or BGP
- Experience with TLS termination, DNS, and egress security controls
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)

THE ROLE
Every agent on Baseten Sandboxes gets its own microVM, where it writes and runs code, calls tools, and keeps state across long tasks. Agents pause and resume constantly, so the machine underneath has to start, stop, snapshot, fork, and resume fast, and keep every tenant isolated while it does. General-purpose virtualization was not built for that workload.
The Agent Infra team builds that layer. Sandboxes run in microVMs with custom Linux kernels on bare-metal servers we operate. You'll own how sandboxes start, stop, snapshot, fork, and resume, and how they perform on each host's CPU and memory, down to the hardware. You'll also own the guest and host side of each sandbox: its identity, how it attaches to different storage classes for performance or capabilities, and the virtual devices that connect it securely to the network. In September 2026, Baseten acquired Blaxel https://www.baseten.co/blog/blaxel-is-joining-baseten-to-build-the-future-of-agentic-cloud/, whose microVM sandboxes are the foundation for Baseten Sandboxes https://docs.baseten.co/sandboxes.
We are building a cloud, not just using one. That means designing for many tenants from day one and thinking through what each decision means all the way down to the datacenter. The team is small and ownership is big: we ship in weeks and months, not multi-year programs.
If you've worked deep in KVM and Firecracker, Cloud Hypervisor, or QEMU and want to build the computers AI agents run on, we'd love to talk.

- Manage host-level resources and sandbox density on each machine
- Own startup and resume performance end to end, from VM boot or snapshot restore to the first command
- Own the guest and host side of each sandbox: its identity, how it attaches to storage, and the virtual devices that connect it to the network
- Design isolation for multi-tenant workloads where the hypervisor is the security boundary
- Debug virtualization and isolation issues at scale, from userspace through the kernel to the hardware
- Contribute architecture decisions and code back to the open-source projects we build on
REQUIREMENTS
- Hands-on experience with KVM, plus Firecracker, Cloud Hypervisor, or QEMU
- Deep understanding of Linux internals: namespaces, cgroups, memory management, and the boot path
- Experience building cloud infrastructure as the provider (multi-tenant compute that customers run on), not only running workloads on a cloud provider
- Experience building multi-tenant infrastructure where isolation is a security boundary

About Niantic Spatial
AI has learned from almost everything online, but it still struggles with the physical world, where 99.5% of economic activity happens. It doesn’t know where things are, how spaces fit together, or what changes over time.
That’s one of the biggest unsolved problems in AI, and it’s the one we’re solving at Niantic Spatial. We build spatial AI models and services so people and machines can reason, learn and act safely in the physical world. We turn camera imagery, video, sensor data and archives into accurate, AI-readable representations of real places that robots can train in and machines can use to know exactly where they are.
In physical AI, mistakes have real consequences. That’s why we build AI grounded in measured reality, not guesswork, so the people and machines relying on it can trust it to get things right.
Our team built some of the world’s most widely used maps. Now we’re building something bigger: a living, measured record of the real world that machines can query, learn from and use to understand how places change over time. If you want to help AI understand the world we actually live in, come build with us.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Claude is trained and served on hardware in data centers Anthropic operates and in sites partners build and run for us. DCSE secures that footprint: the sites, the hardware moving through them, and the people and vendors who touch it. Security at that scale runs on data, and you'll be the engineer who owns it and the systems that produce it: component-level hardware inventory and chain of custody, fed by software that runs at our sites and on hosts, and continuous control monitoring, with the posture calculations that decide what each site is cleared to run.
You set the architecture, agree schemas and interfaces with the teams, operators and vendors that own the sources, build the pipelines, stores and tools, and run what you ship. The goal is security that runs itself: custody, access and evidence verified continuously from records, with tools and AI agents doing the reviews. We favor simple, standard controls and tools that can be verified over elaborate ones. We use Claude throughout our engineering workflow and expect you to as well.
You'll work with the rest of DCSE, including the engineers on its security monitoring platform, with Anthropic's compute and data center operations teams, and directly with data center operators, hardware vendors and logistics providers. The role is based in San Francisco, with remote applicants in the US considered, and involves regular travel to data center sites, which are critical infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
Hardware inventory and chain of custody:
own the component-level record of what hardware exists, where it is and who has handled it: the data model, the pipelines that join inventory and custody events from many source systems, change history on every record, and the tamper-evident stores behind it
Tools, automation and AI agents:
build the tools and agents the team runs on this data: reconciliation, audit evidence exports, custody checks. When a review keeps costing people time, you build the tool or agent that retires it
Custody workflows and field software:
build the workflows and the site and host software that capture custody events as they happen (a receipt, a move, a data wipe, a decommission) and enforce who is authorized to record them
Continuous control monitoring and posture:
own the pipelines that turn check outcomes, assessment results and findings into per-control and per-site measures over time, against the compliance frameworks we and our partners are assessed against, and the posture calculation that decides what a site is cleared to run
Data quality:
build coverage checks, reconciliation against sources and alerts on a silent or drifting feed, so a wrong or missing record is caught the same day; own retention and access controls on the records
Integration and reporting:
agree schemas and interfaces with the engineers who run the security monitoring platform, and build the query surfaces and reports the team, site leads and leadership use directly
Minimum qualifications
Have designed and run production data systems (relational schemas, change data capture, batch or streaming pipelines and the services around them) and kept them correct: coverage measured, records reconciled against the source, alerts on silence, and a design that expects records to get corrupted or lost
Have integrated with systems you did not control (inventory tools, ticketing systems, vendor APIs) and built data models that outlive any one source
Have shipped software that runs outside a central service (host agents, site-local services, edge collectors) and kept it correct in the field, or built metrics a team made decisions on and defended them when challenged
Have worked hands-on with data about physical assets or security controls: a hardware fleet, data center or supply chain inventory, asset custody, or the control and evidence data of a security or compliance program
Read and review other people's code, and build with AI coding agents using Git and code review
Own a domain end to end: set the approach, design and build it with the teams and vendors whose systems it depends on, and run it as something people use every day
Write SQL and at least one general-purpose programming language well

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT DOCKER
Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. From solo founders to the world's largest companies, developers rely on Docker to build, share, and run their applications across our suite of products including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.
We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. As AI agents redefine software development, Docker is at the center of that shift, providing the sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default.
_______________________________________________________________________
Docker Hardened Images (DHI) is Docker's catalogue of security-hardened, enterprise-grade container images and Helm charts, built to be minimal, up-to-date, and safe to deploy in regulated and security-conscious environments. We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to set the long-term technical direction for this catalogue and shape how the broader container security ecosystem evolves inside and beyond Docker.
At this level, you'll work across organizations, not just within one team. You'll set direction for major domains, resolve the highest-ambiguity problems in container supply chain security, and grow your impact through architectural leadership, cross-functional alignment, and influence on industry standards. This is a pure individual contributor role; influence comes through technical vision, design, and the ability to move organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the architecture for DHI as a platform, making high-leverage decisions that define how images and Helm charts are authored, secured, distributed, and evolved across the entire catalogue and across Docker's broader product surface.
- Define and drive multi-quarter technical roadmaps for the container hardening domain, balancing upstream velocity, supply chain security posture, customer compliance requirements, and long-term catalogue scalability.
- Identify systemic patterns from customer, operational, and upstream signals and translate them into architectural changes that span the catalogue, not just individual images or charts.
- Build alignment across teams and executives on technical strategy, tradeoffs, and sequencing, including product, security, infrastructure, and customer-facing functions.
- Represent Docker as a trusted technical voice in escalations, key enterprise customer engagements, and upstream OSS communities on issues that shape the future of secure container delivery.
- Set conventions and standards at scale, defining the patterns others build within for image definition, Helm chart adaptation, hardening strategy, and supply chain tooling (Sigstore, SBOM, SLSA), and evolving those standards as the ecosystem changes.
- Drive the hardest, most ambiguous packaging problems where the right answer requires reasoning across upstream dynamics, security tradeoffs, multi-arch constraints, and customer impact simultaneously.
- Shape the integration test infrastructure and developer tooling strategy so that DHI's engineering platform scales with the catalogue and raises quality across the team.
- Mentor and raise the technical ceiling for staff and senior engineers across the org, through review, design, and well-chosen architectural decisions that create durable leverage.
- Take part in the paid on-call rotation; respond to incidents, debug production issues, and drive systemic improvements in reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience, including extensive work on production-grade, distributed systems at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to set multi-quarter technical roadmaps and align stakeholders (engineering, product, and executives) on strategy and tradeoffs.
- Deep expertise in the container and Kubernetes ecosystem: you have strong, grounded opinions about cert-manager, kyverno, grafana, istio, and similar projects, and you can reason about tradeoffs at the ecosystem level, not just the image level.
- Mastery of container supply chain security concepts (provenance, attestation, SBOM, signing, SLSA) and experience driving posture decisions across an organization rather than implementing them on a single project.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: code review, testing, source control, CI/CD, and Go sufficient to shape infrastructure and harness design.
- Track record of technical influence without authority across multiple teams or organizations, raising quality through design docs, standards, review, and mentorship.
- Experience navigating upstream OSS communities as a decision-maker, representing a downstream organization's requirements and shaping upstream direction on security-relevant issues.
- Comfort working across remote, distributed teams and communicating complex technical strategy clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bonus but not required
- Experience as a package maintainer at a Linux distribution, Homebrew, or comparable ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience implementing or operationalizing supply chain tooling (Sigstore, SBOM, SLSA) at org scale.
- Experience in regulated environments (FedRAMP, FIPS, PCI) with direct exposure to compliance requirements shaping engineering decisions.
- Prior Principal or Distinguished IC experience on a platform, security, or developer-tools team.
- Experience engaging directly with enterprise customers on container security architecture.
WHAT TO EXPECT
FIRST 30 DAYS
- Align with leadership on the most critical org-wide technical risks and opportunities in container supply chain security.
- Develop a point of view on DHI's current architectural constraints and where the highest-leverage interventions are.
- Begin mapping the cross-functional landscape: product priorities, upstream pressures, customer compliance signals, and engineering gaps.
First 90 Days
- Drive an architectural decision that unblocks multiple teams and reduces systemic risk across the catalogue.
- Establish a feedback loop from customer, operational, and upstream signals into the multi-quarter roadmap.
- Engage upstream OSS communities on at least one DHI-relevant issue with meaningful influence on direction.
First Year
- Deliver a major platform or standards evolution with broad adoption across DHI and adjacent teams.
- Create durable alignment across engineering, product, and security on catalogue architecture, supply chain posture, and hardening strategy.
- Raise the technical ceiling for the engineers around you, measurably improving review quality, architectural consistency, and the team's ability to operate independently at a higher level.
Docker considers visa sponsorship on a case-by-case basis based on business needs.
Compensation & Equity
Canada: CA$245,913 – CA$397,139 + equity
United States: $180,500 – $291,500 + equity

WHY WORK AT HIGGSFIELD AI?
Higgsfield AI is the fastest-scaling generative AI company in history: $1B in annual revenue run rate, 30M+ users worldwide, 6M+ generations per day, and 390 Fortune 500 brands as customers.
We're building at the frontier of AI-powered video creation and next-generation creative tools. We aren't just moving fast. We're changing what fast means.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Growth engineering is product engineering where the main output is learning. You'll write code that helps people discover Higgsfield, get to their first great result and keep coming back. Then you'll measure whether it worked.
Some of what you build will be thrown away after a week, and some will become part of a product used by millions. Telling the two apart is the job.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You think about outcomes. Before you build, you know what the change should move. After you ship, you go and check.
- You see a failed experiment as a result. A clear "no" is progress, and you're happy to delete code that didn't earn its place.
- You turn vague problems into working software. Give you a question with no known answer, and you come back with a plan and a first version.
- You know when to go quick and when to go solid. Disposable when testing an idea, robust once it proves itself. Fast on experiments, careful wherever user trust is at stake.
- You have business sense and data literacy. They matter to you as much as clean code.
- You're AI-native in how you work. You use AI coding tools every day, and you verify what they produce.
- You're resilient. You do your best work in a high-intensity startup environment.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Turn hypotheses about user behavior into shipped experiments. See each one through from instrumentation to the decision to scale, iterate or stop.
- Work across the whole user lifecycle (acquisition, activation, monetization and retention) instead of inside a single feature.
- Build product experiences where correctness and reliability matter as much as speed.
- Build the foundations that make experiments fast and safe: instrumentation, reusable building blocks and monitoring.
- Partner closely with product, design, data and marketing. Explain trade-offs, and push back when it's needed.
- Own what you ship in production. If a number moves the wrong way after a release, you're among the first to notice and act.
- Keep the product fast, because speed is a feature our users feel.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- In your first weeks, you ship to production and launch your first experiment.
- Within a few months, you own a part of the user journey and can show what you've moved.
YOUR MUST HAVES
- Advanced expertise in TypeScript, React, Next.js and CSS.
- You've shipped user-facing features whose impact was measured, and you can talk about what worked and what didn't.
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing and product analytics. You're comfortable reading the data yourself.
- Strong grasp of web performance and responsive, cross-browser development.
- Testing and CI/CD practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, and commitment to finishing what you start.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
NICE TO HAVE
- Previous experience on a growth or monetization team.
- Experience with subscription products.
- Experience building experimentation or analytics tooling.
- Enough backend experience to shape an API together with backend engineers.
THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF
- You need detailed specs and a roadmap that stays fixed for months.
- You'd rather polish one feature for a quarter than ship many experiments and keep the ones that work.
- You don't want to look at metrics after a release.
THE DEAL
- Top-of-market compensation in USD.
- Meaningful stock options with significant upside.
- Small team, high autonomy and outsized impact.
- On-site role in our Almaty office (we will relocate you from anywhere).
