WHO ARE WE?
Cohere is the leading security-first enterprise AI company. We build cutting-edge foundation AI models and end-to-end products that are designed to solve real-world business problems.
We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that.
We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.
We are a global technology company headquartered in Toronto with key offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul. Join us!
Why this role?
This role will focus on breaking down engineering tasks such as reporting, component search and handling of material billing/information into individual steps that can be tackled through tool use. Your breakdown will teach the Cohere model the logic needed to complete each task.
Please Note: This is a part-time independent contractor position available within Canada. We seek candidates who are able to commit to 16 hours per week minimum at a 30 CAD/hour contract rate. This role is BYOD 💻 - Bring Your Own Device (laptop). Remote work within Canada. 12 month contract.
As a Data Annotation Specialist, you will:
- Evaluate the model's ability to respond to engineering procedures and workflows
- Task models to complete engineering tasks along with verified information to evaluate the accuracy of the model's responses
- Label, proofread, and improve machine-written and human-written engineering-related outputs.
- Follow our style guide, and make recommendations on unique situations that fall outside of its scope.
You may be a good fit if you have:
- 3+ years of industry experience working in engineering fields (civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical)
- Technician/engineering specialist training and experience preferredAn education background in engineering (Bachelors, Masters or similar)
- Experience on medium-large scale engineering projects involving designing, prototyping and manufacturing components and/or experience in post-graduate research lab
- Experience with CAD software, material billing and product lifecycle management (PCMs) can be a plus
The Candidate Journey:
- Initial Screening: Our Talent Team will review your application.
- First Assessment: If selected to move forward, you’ll receive a multiple-choice assessment by email.
- Second Assessment: Candidates who achieve a passing score will be contacted by a member of our team to complete a more comprehensive assessment focused on their area of expertise.
- Video Screen: If selected to move forward, you’ll have a short video call with a member of our Operations Team.
- Final: Selected candidates will receive an Independent Contractor Agreement.
As an independent contractor, you maintain control over how you complete your work and may work with multiple clients simultaneously, although we ask you to declare if any of these are with a direct competitor of Cohere and maintain IP confidentiality of the Cohere project. Independent contractors are not eligible for health benefits or other benefits provided to employees. Compensation for services is provided to contractors by contractors invoicing for services provided pursuant to the terms of our agreement with the contractor.
It is important to understand that as an independent contractor, continuous work is not guaranteed. The client-contractor relationship is fundamentally project-based, meaning engagements may be temporary, periodic, or intermittent based on our organizational needs and project availability. As an independent contractor, you should anticipate fluctuations in workflow and therefore compensation for services when Cohere does not require as many hours of services in a week.
Prospective candidates, please be advised: this role involves working with human generated and model generated tasks that may involve exposure to not safe for work (NSFW) text content as part of data annotation tasks, including explicit, offensive, or other inappropriate material.
If some of the above doesn’t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply!
We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12a6IrLdF3kI2nonKSr4tiFuz18rLQbaeYV-JM9L4o9Q/edit, and we will work together to meet your needs.

LEAP Program Description
Global Solutions Ventures (GSV) – a joint-venture partnership between ZemiTek, LLC and Dexis Consulting Group – is implementing the Long-term Exceptional Technical Assistance Project (LEAP Global), a mechanism originally used by USAID to battle against infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, and pandemic influenza. As of July 1, 2025, LEAP Global transitioned to the U.S. Department of State (DOS). This initiative aims to address the complex human resource challenges faced by national infectious disease programs in the USA-supported countries.
The intervention of this project is to hire and embed technical expert advisors and subject matter experts within government entities. By directly embedding the technical expertise within the national programs, LEAP provides long-term, sustainable lifesaving support to empower host governments to lead and manage key aspects of their infectious disease portfolios and improve coordination between the U.S. Government and the host country.
About the Position
The National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) is responsible for the national coordination of malaria prevention, case management, and malaria supply chain activities in Niger.
In recent years, the national supply chain management system has undergone significant evolution, characterized by:
The progressive strengthening of quantification and supply planning mechanisms;
The increasing use of logistics data from DHIS2;
The progressive strengthening of the Quantification Analytics Tool (QAT) as the national reference tool for supply forecasting and planning;
The gradual transition to a national electronic Logistics Management Information System (eLMIS) based on Open mSupply;
The progressive development of a district-led last-mile distribution model;
The growing need for advanced analysis of logistics data to improve the continuous availability of commodities.
In this context, the NMCP seeks to sustainably strengthen its institutional capacities in the areas of:
Logistics data analysis;
Data validation and triangulation;
Supply forecasting and planning;
Supply chain performance management;
Stockout risk anticipation;
Use of digital logistics management tools;
Monitoring of warehousing and distribution performance;
Pharmaceutical waste management.
To support this transition, the NMCP wishes to benefit from technical support through the recruitment of a Technical Expert in Logistics Intelligence, forecasting, and Supply Chain Performance. The goal is to sustainably strengthen national capacities, not to create functional dependency on external expertise.
The Advisor will support the NMCP in carrying out life-saving humanitarian assistance (LHA) service delivery in full alignment with the new Presidential Executive Order (EO) directives.
Responsibilities
General Objective
Support the NMCP in strengthening its institutional capacities in logistics intelligence, quantification, data analysis, and supply chain performance management to sustainably improve the availability of malaria commodities.

Developing supply chain performance dashboards and indicators.
Supporting the NMCP in monitoring pharmaceutical waste management.
Sustainably strengthening the technical capacities of national teams through skills transfer and process formalization.
Nature and Principles of Position
The position is structured around:
Strengthening institutional capacities;
Transferring skills;
Developing sustainable tools and mechanisms;
Providing analytical and strategic support.
The position does not constitute a permanent organic function within the NMCP and is not intended to replace the statutory or hierarchical responsibilities of national staff.
The Advisor shall:
Not hold any hierarchical authority over NMCP staff;
Not replace NMCP human resources;
Not exercise the program's sovereign (regalian) functions;
Act within a framework of technical support, accompaniment, systems structuring, and skills transfer.

The NMCP's Supply and Stock Management (GAS) team;
The NMCP pharmacist;
The NMCP monitoring and evaluation teams;

Develop cross-validation mechanisms for logistics data;
Support the identification and correction of data inconsistencies;
Develop Analytical Dashboards and Visualization Tools
Strengthen the NMCP's capacity to analyze consumption trends and stockout risks;
Develop early warning mechanisms;

DHIS2 data completeness (and eLMIS data as it is progressively deployed);
The identification and correction of inconsistencies;
Monthly stockout monitoring;
Analysis of district performance in their capacity for regular monthly resupply of health facilities.
Quantification and Institutionalization of QAT
