Ensuring the quality and reliability of these kernels demands a dedicated, systematic approach to testing at scale. The Canonical Kernel Team is looking for a Test Engineer to take ownership of our kernel testing strategy and infrastructure. You will design and maintain test plans covering functional correctness, stability, performance, and security. You will build and evolve automated test frameworks – including stress testing, fuzzing, code coverage analysis, and regression detection – that not only must remain effective across many concurrently supported kernel versions spanning years of maintenance, but must be able to scale with the high demand for Ubuntu kernels (currently more than 160 under active support). The successful candidate will bring strong Python skills, familiarity with Linux kernel internals, and experience building test infrastructure that scales. You will work closely with kernel engineers to catch regressions early, validate fixes, and ensure every kernel we ship meets the highest standards of reliability. As a QA Automation Engineer at Creatio you will oversee the full testing cycle, from testing strategy planning and risk analysis to testing execution, and quality control processes within our team. Our company’s tech stack: Playwright, sitespeed.io, Jenkins, TeamCity, Postman, Axios, JMeter, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, REST APIs. The role is based in Ukraine and Poland. Team composition: 3 Developers, 1 QA, 1 Technical Lead, 1 Agile Coach, 1 Product Owner Responsibilities: Create and maintain E2E automated tests with Playwright (in TypeScript) Perform exploratory and manual testing for new features and complex workflows Cover UI/API/business logic scenarios Work closely with developers and analysts to identify edge cases and improve test coverage Contribute to improving our QA processes, tools, and reporting Requirements: Knowing testing techniques and applying them. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand how the product works. Experience with web UI testing, E2E test scenarios, and API testing Understanding the principles of web application operation. Willing to thoroughly investigate issues (read logs, SQL, Fiddler, IIS, Redis, etc.). Experience working with JIRA and Test Management tools like Zephyr, TestRail or their counterparts. Experience with version control systems: Git and SVN; knowing JavaScript/TypeScript. Will be a plus: Experience conducting load testing of web applications; Experience with Continuous Integration tools: TeamCity, Jenkins; Test automation experience: Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Chai, Mocha, Selenoid/Selenium Grid; Understanding the principles of OOP.
