About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
The Cloud Inference team scales and optimizes Claude to serve the massive audiences of developers and enterprise companies across AWS, GCP, Azure, and future cloud service providers (CSPs). We own the end-to-end product of Claude on each cloud platform, from API integration and intelligent request routing to inference execution, capacity management, and day-to-day operations.
Our engineers are extremely high leverage: we simultaneously drive multiple major revenue streams while optimizing one of Anthropic's most precious resources: compute. As we expand to more cloud platforms, the complexity of managing inference efficiently across providers with different hardware, networking stacks, and operational models grows significantly. We need product-minded backend engineers who can navigate these platform differences, design the services and abstractions that work across providers, and make architectural decisions that keep us reliable and cost-effective at massive scale.
Your work will increase the scale at which our services operate, accelerate our ability to reliably launch new frontier models and innovative features to customers across all platforms, and ensure our LLMs meet rigorous safety, performance, and security standards.
Key responsibilities
Design, build, and own backend services and infrastructure that serve Claude across multiple CSPs, accounting for differences in compute hardware, networking, APIs, and operational models
Work cross-functionally with internal inference, product API, systems, and security teams, among others, and with CSP partners to stand up the full serving stack on new cloud platforms, resolve operational issues, and influence provider roadmaps
Build and evolve CI/CD automation systems, including validation and deployment pipelines, that reliably ship new model versions to millions of users across cloud platforms without regressions
Design interfaces and tooling abstractions across CSPs that enable cost-effective inference management, scale across providers, and reduce per-platform complexity
Contribute to capacity planning, autoscaling, and workload routing strategies that match supply with demand and direct requests to the most cost-effective accelerator and region
Analyze observability data across providers to identify performance bottlenecks, cost anomalies, and regressions, and drive remediation based on real-world production workloads
Minimum qualifications
Have significant software engineering experience, with a strong background in high-performance, large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users
Have experience building or operating services on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with exposure to Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, or container orchestration
Are curious about LLM serving; prior inference or ML experience is not required
Thrive in cross-functional collaboration with both internal teams and external partners
Have experience working with external partners to align goals and deliver impact
Are a fast learner who can quickly ramp up on new technologies, hardware platforms, and provider ecosystems
Are highly autonomous and take ownership of problems end-to-end, including work that falls outside your job description
Preferred qualifications
Direct experience working with CSPs to scale infrastructure or products across multiple platforms, navigating differences in networking, security, privacy, billing, and managed service offerings
Hands-on experience with capacity management, cost optimization, or resource planning at scale across heterogeneous environments
Solid understanding of multi-region deployments, geographic routing, and global traffic management
Proficiency in Python or Rust

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Within Cloud Inference, the model & inference launch team owns the validation pipeline for our inference server and load balancer on these platforms. We're responsible for every inference change — model launches, performance improvements, safeguard integrations — landing on cloud platforms with correctness, performance, and reliability intact.
This is high-leverage infrastructure work: validation has to be fast and cheap enough to run on the same accelerators that serve customers, trustworthy enough to replace manual checks, and consistent enough that a change working on Anthropic first-party means it works everywhere. This directly determines how fast frontier models and features ship to every cloud platform, and how quickly performance wins reach production — reclaiming capacity at a time when compute is our scarcest resource.
Key responsibilities
Be on the critical path for frontier model launches, bringing up inference for new model architectures and shipping them to cloud platforms in lockstep with our first-party platform
Work with the core inference team to bring new inference features (e.g. structured sampling, prompt caching, and more) to cloud platforms, owning the platform-specific integration that gets them to production
Identify and dive deep on the gaps that make inference behave differently across first-party and CSPs — config drift, observability, deployment patterns, hard cross-platform bugs — and fix them at the source rather than building platform-specific workarounds
Design, build, and own the CI/CD infrastructure for the inference server and load balancer across cloud platforms, with shadow traffic, performance baselines (throughput and latency), and correctness checks that catch regressions before production
Drive down merge-to-production cycle time by making validation faster, more parallel, and cost-effective enough to run on the same constrained accelerator pool that serves customers, without trading away reliability
Analyze observability data across providers to identify performance bottlenecks, cost anomalies, and regressions, and drive remediation based on real-world production workloads
Minimum qualifications
Have a strong interest in LLM serving; prior inference or ML experience is not required
Have significant software engineering experience, with a strong background in high-performance, large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users
Have a track record of building automation or test infrastructure that measurably improved release velocity or reliability
Have experience building or operating services on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with exposure to Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, or container orchestration
Thrive in cross-functional collaboration with both internal teams and external partners
Are a fast learner who can quickly ramp up on new technologies, hardware platforms, and provider ecosystems
Are highly autonomous and take ownership of problems end-to-end, including work that falls outside your job description
Preferred qualifications
LLM inference optimization, batching, and caching strategies
Capacity-constrained scheduling or shared-resource test infrastructure
Solid understanding of multi-region deployments, request routing, load balancing, global traffic management
Working with CSP partner teams to scale infrastructure across multiple platforms, navigating differences in networking, security, privacy, and managed service
Proficiency in Python or Rust

- Commercial Negotiation: Navigating difficult conversations and handling pushback from sophisticated enterprise merchants with a focus on long-term partnership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering with Sales, Integration, Legal, and Product teams to ensure an outstanding, seamless merchant experience.
- Market Advocacy: Acting as the voice of our product and an ambassador of our brand, providing expertise and guidance on global payment strategies.

- Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to hit financial targets, reduce churn, and drive expansion revenue (upselling/cross-selling).
- Resilience: Experience handling high-pressure situations and pushback from difficult or demanding enterprise stakeholders.
- Analytical Mindset: Comfortable using data to tell a story; you can turn complex transaction data into actionable recommendations for a merchant.
- Adaptability: You thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and can manage multiple priorities without losing focus on performance.
- Communication: Exceptional English communication skills (Arabic is a plus), with the ability to influence at all levels of an external organization.

Commercial Manager, Global Supply Chain
Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Finance team shapes the company's future by directing capital to high-impact investments, developing robust financial strategies, and ensuring we deliver long-term value while pursuing our ambitious mission.
We're looking for a Commercial Manager, Global Supply Chain to join our team. This is a global role spanning the DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt ecosystem, with Deliveroo as the hiring entity. This is a hybrid role based in our London office.
In this role, you'll help shape what our global supply chain looks like as DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt increasingly act as one unified company — building a highly efficient commercial approach to how physical goods, logistics, and courier equipment move across our operations worldwide. Rather than three brands running separate playbooks, you'll help design the single commercial model that brings them together, turning fragmented regional practices into one coherent, scalable supply chain.

Sitting underneath the Senior Commercial Manager, you will build and execute sourcing strategies, lead complex international negotiations, and manage supplier performance across the DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt ecosystem.
Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

, focusing on unit cost, freight, duty, quality protections, and working capital impact.
Contract & Supplier Management
Own the end-to-end contracting process
in partnership with Legal, maintaining a complete contract register and enforcing lifecycle obligations, renewals, and rebates.
Drive day-to-day commercial supplier management
, conducting structured performance reviews, establishing operational KPIs, and managing Joint Improvement Plans.
Mitigate supply chain risk and ensure continuity of supply
, establishing dual-sourcing strategies, financial risk assessments, and strict ethical sourcing/modern slavery compliance across manufacturing partners.
Partner with operational and logistics leadership
to align requirements, streamline specifications, and build credibility across historically independent regional teams.
What You’ll Need to Thrive
Essential
Significant experience in supply chain sourcing
, with a proven track record delivering measurable commercial value across logistics, 3PL, or manufactured goods categories.
Demonstrated ability in end-to-end competitive sourcing
, including hands-on contract negotiation with major international suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Proven capability in supplier relationship and performance management
, with experience handling complex commercial disputes and driving joint innovation.
Strong analytical and financial acumen
, with expertise in total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling, landed cost structures, and spend analytics.
Exceptional stakeholder influence
, with the ability to bridge operational needs with commercial outcomes across multi-region or cross-brand environments.
Nice to Have
Experience sourcing apparel or hardgoods manufacturing, including factory selection, quality control, and ethical audit frameworks.
Experience leading post-acquisition supplier consolidation or specification harmonisation.
Familiarity with direct/inventory-based supply chains, including international freight, customs/duty, and working capital dynamics.

ABOUT MISTRAL
Mistral provides full-stack AI solutions: from frontier models to developer tools, applications, and compute. We partner with enterprises tackling the hardest problems across high-stakes industries like finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector, co-creating customized AI systems that they can run on their terms.
We are a dynamic, collaborative team passionate about AI and its potential to transform society. Our diverse workforce thrives in competitive environments and is committed to driving innovation. Our teams are distributed between Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. We are creative, low-ego and team-spirited.
ABOUT THE JOB
Mistral AI is looking for a Domain Expert in crashworthiness simulations to help build AI-accelerated simulation capabilities for industrial engineering.
You will work at the intersection of industrial simulation, physics modeling, machine learning, and engineering workflows. Your role is to bring deep solid-mechanics expertise into the design, training, evaluation, and deployment of AI Physics Models for real engineering use cases.
This is a hands-on technical role. We are looking for someone who understands industrial structural simulation not only conceptually, but through direct experience with simulation models, solver workflows, data generation, validation, and engineering decision-making.
You will work with research, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure that our models are useful against real engineering standards — not only benchmark metrics.
Relevant application areas may include automotive crashworthiness, aerospace structures, consumer-electronics drop/reliability, manufacturing, durability/fatigue, and other nonlinear structural mechanics problems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Work with our research team to define, generate, and iteratively improve simulation datasets for training and evaluating crashworthiness foundation models, balancing coverage of relevant physical scenarios, simulation fidelity, and computational cost.
- Design and run high-fidelity simulation campaigns using structural mechanics solvers such as Abaqus, LS-DYNA, Ansys Mechanical, Radioss or equivalent tools.
- Define the relevant variation space for training data: geometry, mesh resolution, material behavior, boundary conditions, loading, contact, joints, failure modes, and engineering KPIs.
- Build or guide automated pipelines for simulation setup, execution, post-processing, dataset creation, and model evaluation.
- Work with research teams to train and evaluate AI models on simulation data, and diagnose failure modes caused by data gaps, poor coverage, numerical artifacts, or model limitations.
- Evaluate model outputs against industrial engineering needs, including field-level accuracy, scalar KPIs, deformation modes, load paths, energy absorption, stress/strain fields, failure indicators, uncertainty, and out-of-domain behavior.
- Work with industrial customers to understand their simulation workflows and engineering priorities, define use cases and success criteria, and incorporate their feedback into model development and validation.
ABOUT YOU
- You have deep expertise in crashworthiness, solid mechanics, and structural mechanics, with substantial experience in industrial simulation workflows.
- You have a Master’s degree or equivalent technical depth in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, civil/structural engineering, computational mechanics, applied physics, or a related field.
- You have 4+ years of relevant industrial experience (or PhD +1 years) in domains such as automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics.
- You have hands-on experience with explicit dynamics for crash or impact simulation and understand nonlinear FEM and related topics such as contact, plasticity, structural dynamics, buckling, material modeling, fracture/damage, fatigue, crashworthiness, or durability.
- You have direct experience with simulation validation, correlation, model quality, numerical sensitivity, and engineering KPI definition.
- You are a strong Python developer who can build and maintain reliable tools for simulation automation, data processing, and model evaluation. You apply sound software engineering practices, including version control with Git, automated testing, code review, and clear documentation.
- You have hands-on experience working in Linux and HPC environments, including submitting and monitoring batch jobs, selecting appropriate compute resources, and troubleshooting simulation workflows. You can run simulation campaigns efficiently across a compute cluster.
- You are comfortable operating in ambiguous technical environments and turning poorly defined industrial problems into scoped datasets, experiments, metrics, and execution plans.
- You communicate clearly with both deep technical experts and non-specialist stakeholders.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU
- Have experience applying machine learning, surrogate modeling, reduced-order modeling, optimization, or data-driven methods to simulation problems.
- Have contributed to reusable internal tools, open-source code, simulation automation frameworks, or production-quality engineering workflows.
- Have experience working directly with industrial customers, product teams, or engineering decision-makers.
- Have publications, patents, internal technical leadership, or recognized contributions in engineering, simulation, computational mechanics, or ML-for-physics communities.

Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. directly for confirmed position openings.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.
You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
This is a remote opportunity, and we would be interested in applicants located in the US or Canada.
The Opportunity:
At Grafana Labs, we build observability tools that help users understand, respond to, and improve their systems – regardless of scale, complexity, or tech stack. We recently started a skunkworks initiative with a mission to bring observability to the rest of the business. Our goal is to make Grafana the single best place where humans and AI agents understand and act on real-time data from across the enterprise. As part of this initiative, we are building an AI-native data intelligence system that gives agents reliable, governed access to enterprise context. This system helps agents retrieve the right data, metadata, definitions, lineage, quality signals, and institutional knowledge without every agent builder having to maintain their own brittle context files. The principle is simple: the context system retrieves, agents decide, and data teams maintain the intelligence.
The new team is a mix of seasoned Grafanistas and new hires. We operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, both as individuals and as a team. Engineers are empowered to make decisions, move quickly, and validate ideas early – while being supported by a deeply collaborative culture that values curiosity, feedback, and cross-functional partnership.
We’re looking for a Senior Software (Database) Engineer to help build the underlying storage system for our general purpose data platform. The database layer has both OLAP and OTLP capabilities to support classic analytics queries while also serving up freshly stored data. It embraces the separation of compute and storage and is designed to run on multiple cloud providers. This is an early-stage role on a high-autonomy team, so you should be comfortable working through ambiguity, making pragmatic architectural decisions, and building systems that can evolve from internal dogfooding to production-grade SaaS. As the team matures, there’s a broad opportunity to expand or redefine this role based on impact and initiative.
What You'll Be Doing:
Take ownership over and build one or multiple parts of the database: Design, implement, test, and operate ingestion, query planning, distributed query execution, data formats, storage formats.
Create a scalable SaaS foundation: Help define and build the architecture for a multi-tenant database service, including tenant isolation, usage tracking, quotas, audit logs, background jobs, and reliable service boundaries.
Power agent-facing retrieval workflows: Build APIs and database interfaces that allow AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications to retrieve data quickly.
Work across product and infrastructure: Partner with the team to make practical tradeoffs between fast experimentation and long-term reliability, especially as the project moves from prototype to production.
Operate what you build: Instrument database services with metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards. Use observability tools to understand system behavior and improve reliability.
Contribute to technical direction: Help shape the architecture, service boundaries, storage choices, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices for a new product area.
Effective communication: You’ll be working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment, so we need someone who can communicate effectively and contribute across teams.
Ownership and impact: Take full ownership of the database solutions you develop, ensuring they are not only innovative but also scalable, maintainable, and aligned with real user workflows.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
Strong engineering skills: Solid experience building production-grade, user-facing software systems. You’re a self-starter, capable of tackling complex engineering problems and making design decisions with minimal supervision.
AI experience with a practical mindset: You’re familiar with AI technologies and frameworks, and you focus on delivering high-quality solutions that work in the real world, not just in theory.
Quick iteration and experimentation: You’re comfortable releasing prototypes, collecting feedback, and iterating with a pragmatic mindset.
Proven initiative: You take ownership and drive projects forward, pushing boundaries to find the most impactful solutions. You can deal with ambiguity and are able to define scope where things are loosely defined.
Collaborative attitude: You communicate effectively with your peers. You’re open to feedback, and you bring a solutions-oriented mindset to the table.
Experience with distributed systems, catalogs and table formats, query engines.
Mastery of a programming language like golang, C++, or Rust
Proven track record of delivering software that made it into production and is actively used by users.
Exposure to working in cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
Bonus Points for:
Experience building distributed query engines.
Experience building data warehouses and/or data lakes.
Experience building tools for data engineering.
How we work:
We are a remote-first team that meets regularly over video and does most of our work asynchronously, in writing. We value creativity, diverse perspectives, and clear communication. Tempo is relied upon by prominent global organizations to monitor critical applications and infrastructure, and we expect everyone on the team, including our Staff engineers, to contribute ideas that make it a more reliable, more useful, and more loved product.
Compensation & Rewards:
In Canada, the Base compensation range for this role is $
164,490 - $197,389.
Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success. We believe in shared outcomes—RSUs help us stay aligned and invested as we scale globally.
*Compensation ranges are country specific. If you are applying for this role from a different location than listed above, your recruiter will discuss your specific market’s defined pay range & benefits at the beginning of the process.
