Mentor more junior team members and make sure every candidate gets a smooth, respectful process

The team and its impact
Accounting Core builds the foundations behind Xero’s accounting records, helping ensure that when a business records invoices, payments and other activity, its accounting stays accurate and dependable. You’ll help evolve a mature platform by decoupling key accounting capabilities from the mature architecture and creating safer, more scalable paths for change across areas such as invoices, payments, bank transactions and reconciliation.
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll own significant end-to-end initiatives from technical design through to production, helping decide how accounting capabilities can be separated from the monolith and evolved safely. You’ll stay hands-on in production code, work through trade-offs where accounting-data integrity and scalability matter, and collaborate closely with partner teams to ensure changes to the accounting engine support other Xero teams built on Accounting Core. You’ll also help raise engineering practices and quality standards as the Vancouver Accounting Core team continues to grow.
Technical Challenges:
- Decoupling a mature accounting platform: Help separate accounting capabilities from a monolith, creating clearer domain ownership and safer paths for change without compromising the integrity of the accounting record.
- Accounting correctness at scale: Design and evolve reliable services for critical financial data across areas such as invoices, payments, bank transactions and reconciliation.
- Shared foundations for product teams: Build capabilities and outputs that other Xero teams can rely on confidently, so they can deliver customer experiences without rebuilding core accounting foundations.
- Modernisation alongside delivery: Make incremental architectural improvements while continuing to deliver value for small businesses and their advisors.
Here are some of the things we are looking for
- Proven track record of delivering highly available, distributed systems and high-throughput services on cloud-native platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of significant work, from design through to rollout and production validation, including the technical decisions that come with it.
- You think carefully about architecture and trade-offs, from API design to choosing the right data store, and you balance speed, quality and long-term maintainability.
- Proficiency in a modern backend stack, such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, Ruby or C++, and you are keen to learn C# and .NET, where existing experience is a bonus.
- Passion for staying hands-on, contributing to production code and technical deep dives, and using AI tools with good judgement to move faster and raise the quality bar.
- A commitment to Go Together by mentoring peers, sharing technical knowledge and helping teammates grow through code reviews, pairing and documentation.
Where and how you can work
This role is based in our Vancouver office, where we embrace a hybrid working model. You will have the flexibility to work from home while joining the team in the office for "boost days" (1-2 days a week) to collaborate, socialize, and solve complex problems in person.
Our Hiring Process
1. TX phone screen: a conversation with your Talent Specialist about your background, motivations and the role.
2. Technical assessments: a coding assessment and systems design assessment, conducted virtually with real engineers, and based on real-world scenarios.
3. Technical deep dive: walk through a past project you owned end-to-end, covering how you thought about it, executed it and led through its complexity.
4. Values / Future Proof Xero: how you show up day to day, aligned with Xero's values and capabilities such as adaptability, ownership, customer thinking and AI fluency.
Compensation & Total Rewards
At Xero, we value the impact and skills you bring to the team. We believe in a Total Package philosophy - ensuring your value is recognized through a holistic lens that includes base salary, performance incentives, and world-class benefits.
The expected base salary range for this role is $155,000 - $205,000 CAD.
Individual pay is determined by various factors, including geography, level of experience, and the specific skills you bring to the role.
In addition to base pay, Xero’s roles are eligible for the following forms of variable compensation:
- Variable Pay: Permanent employees are eligible to participate in our annual bonus and equity (RSU) programs. You may also be eligible for performance-based cash or equity (RSUs) incentives depending on your role level, and company performance.
- Comprehensive Benefits: World-class health, wellness, and retirement programs. Xero Perks https://careers.xero.com/inside-xero/benefits-wellbeing/ including Wellbeing days, generous leave, and dedicated professional development budgets.
This is a posting for an existing vacancy.
Xero uses AI to help screen applications based on job-related qualifications. These tools assist our recruiters but do not make automated hiring decisions. A human recruiter reviews all candidates before any hiring action is taken.

The role and its impact
Payments Platform is one of Xero’s biggest areas of investment and growth - directly affecting how small businesses pay their people, buy supplies and take on their next opportunity. Here, we build the foundations for collecting and paying money through Xero, helping make payments simple, accurate and secure for customers while supporting multiple products, payment methods, providers and regions. You’ll help evolve a growing platform by building reusable, provider-agnostic capabilities across areas such as payment orchestration, provider integrations, onboarding, risk and compliance, reconciliation and bill payments.
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll own significant end-to-end initiatives from technical design through to production, helping decide how payment capabilities are designed, integrated and operated as the platform scales. You’ll stay hands-on in production code, work through trade-offs where customer simplicity, financial control, reliability and scalability matter, and collaborate closely with product and engineering partners to deliver payment experiences that are secure, trusted and easy to use. You’ll also help shape engineering practices and quality standards as the Vancouver Payments Platform team continues to grow.
Technical Challenges:
- A shared payments platform: Own a capability within the platform, such as orchestration, risk and fraud, or multi-provider support, and deliver it end-to-end. You'll be helping teams launch new payment products faster without rebuilding the same foundations.
- Global bill payments: Make a complex financial process feel simple for small businesses while keeping it accurate, secure and connected to the accounting record.
- High throughput at scale: Design and deliver reliable, secure distributed services that remain dependable under real-world production constraints, with the monitoring and operational readiness to support them.
- Customer impact alongside architectural progress: Improve existing systems in steps, delivering customer value quickly while contributing to a coherent long-term architecture.
- AI capabilities customers can trust: Apply AI to challenging product problems while protecting customer trust, and help evaluate those capabilities with the same discipline as the rest of your work.
Here are some of the things we are looking for
- Proven track record of delivering highly available, distributed systems and high-throughput services on cloud-native platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.

Senior Data Engineer
to join our Data Engineering team in Berlin. In this role, you won't just build pipelines—you will architect the data foundation that powers our next generation of casual games and advanced analytics, and AI-driven workflows. You will be in an environment where you can take full ownership of business outcomes, bridge technical execution with strategy, and proactively identify opportunities to optimize and scale our data transformation journey.
About the job
Data Architecture & Strategy:
Design and build resilient, scalable data infrastructure optimized for analytical workflows, feature stores, real-time context delivery, and AI-ready, well-documented data for agents and LLM applications.
Modern Pipeline Engineering:
Build, maintain, and optimize robust batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines using Scala, Python, SQL and dbt.
Data Warehousing & Lakehouse:
Architect clean, cost-efficient, and highly performance schemes across our cloud data warehouse platform on Snowflake.
AI-Enabled Engineering & Agentic Workflows:
Use AI as a daily force multiplier, not only for writing code but across the data lifecycle, from design and documentation to testing, debugging, and incident triage. Design, build, and operate agentic workflows (for example, agents that monitor pipelines, investigate data quality issues, generate and validate dbt models, or answer analysts’ questions against governed data), with proper guardrails, evaluation, and observability.
Quality, Reliability & Governance:
Implement automated testing, observability, and monitoring frameworks to guarantee high data reliability and low latency.
Engineering Excellence & Best Practices:
Follow rigorous CI/CD practices, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), version control, and clear documentation across all data assets.
Cross-Functional Enablement:
Collaborate closely with marketing managers, game teams, product managers, and data analysts to turn ambiguous business needs into high-impact data solutions.
About you
Relevant Experience:
In-depth professional experience as a software engineer or data engineer.
Data Engineering Expertise:
Strong background in senior data engineering roles with advanced proficiency in Python and complex SQL.
Strong Core Programming:
Deep professional experience in a strongly-typed language such as Scala, Java, or Go for building resilient data services.
Modern Stack Mastery:
Practical experience with cloud data platforms (favorable Snowflake), dbt and orchestration tools (we use Airflow).
AI & Agentic Experience:
Hands-on experience applying AI tools in your engineering work and building agentic workflows, including tool use or MCP integrations, orchestration, and evaluation. You know where agents add real value, where human review is essential, and how to keep them reliable, secure, and cost-aware.
Software Engineering Mindset:
Deep familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD, unit testing, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
Proactive & Impact-Driven:
Autonomous problem solver who evaluates technical decisions based on speed-to-market, business value, and ROI rather than theoretical complexity.
Collaborative Communicator:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical architecture to both engineering peers and business stakeholders.
Please note: Research has shown that some under-represented groups in the gaming industry (eg: women) tend to apply only if they meet every single requirement. Here at Wooga, the desire to learn and the willingness to solve problems are more important to us than your experience on paper. We encourage you to apply even if you do not think that you tick all the boxes - thinking outside of such boxes and embracing the diversity of mindsets and backgrounds is what we believe makes our teams thrive.
Our Promise
Shape the future! Challenge the status quo and team up with a diverse group of experts (over 50 nationalities!) working on crafting the world’s best games.

In January 2026, we closed a $250M Series C led by ICONIQ, valuing Rain at $1.95B, with Sapphire Ventures, Dragonfly, Bessemer Venture Partners, Galaxy Ventures, FirstMark, Lightspeed, Norwest, and Endeavor Catalyst also participating. If you're curious, bold, and excited to help shape a borderless financial future, we'd love to talk.
OUR ETHOS
We believe in an open and flat structure. You will be able to grow into the role that most aligns with your goals. Our team members at all levels have the freedom to explore ideas and impact the roadmap and vision of our company.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a core member of our Internal AI team, you will help Rain build leverage and become AI-native. This role sits at the intersection between building and enablement. You will work across teams to fix bottlenecks with AI agents, apps, and workflows and empower those teams with the capabilities to do the same.
This is a cross-disciplinary role for a high agency problem-solver. You will use your expertise in product, data, and vibecoding to drive improvements that will help us accelerate as we scale. Finally, you will support Rain’s foundational AI systems, tooling, and other primitives that will compound our growth over time.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Diagnose & Prioritize: Proactively audit workflows across teams to identify the highest-impact automation and AI opportunities. Translate business pain points into a prioritized roadmap with clear ROI.
- Build & Ship: Design and deploy AI-powered agents, apps, and workflows using a mix of code/no-code tools. Own solutions end-to-end from prototype to production.
- Drive AI Adoption: Partner with teams to build an AI-first culture. Run enablement sessions, create documentation, and build internal champions who sustain long-term impact.
- Establish Operational Rigor: Define success metrics for every initiative. Track performance, measure adoption, and demonstrate business impact. Iterate based on data and feedback.
- Support Rain’s AI Foundations: Develop the core primitives — documentation, skill/agent libraries, standard operating procedures, and governance frameworks — that enable Rain to build and deploy AI agents and tools easily and reliably.
WHO YOU ARE
- AI Native Builder. Deep and demonstrated experience using AI to build, ship, and accelerate work. You can take an ambiguous problem and ship a working solution without waiting for an engineering team.
- Strong technical fluency. You are fluent with low-code/no-code and development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.), SQL & BI tools, APIs, scripting, and integrations.
- Analytical and empathetic problem-solver. You can partner with teams to understand challenges, use data to prioritize opportunities, deliver results, and measure impact.
- Excellent communicator. You can manage expectations, maintain alignment, across competing priorities. You can translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical specs.
- Systems builder. You naturally create clarity out of chaos — writing SOPs, building templates, defining standards, and structuring knowledge so that humans and agents can build on your work.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and speed. You thrive in fast-paced startup environments where priorities shift and you need to figure things out on the fly. You have high agency and don't wait to be told what to do.
- 3–6 years of experience in product management, product ops, forward deployed/solutions engineering, technical program management, or a similar role where you have solved problems with technical solutions.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience at a Series A–C startup or high-growth startup company (or former founder)
- Familiarity with compliance, finance, or payments workflows
- Experience with workflow orchestration and integration architecture (webhooks, auth flows, data pipelines)
- Background in change management or internal enablement programs
- Experience with data platforms (Google Cloud, DBT) or data modeling
- Track record of driving measurable adoption of internal tools or processes
- Experience building internal knowledge bases, technical SOPs, or developer-facing documentation

ABOUT MISTRAL
Mistral provides full-stack AI solutions: from frontier models to developer tools, applications, and compute. We partner with enterprises tackling the hardest problems across high-stakes industries like finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector, co-creating customized AI systems that they can run on their terms.
We are a dynamic, collaborative team passionate about AI and its potential to transform society. Our diverse workforce thrives in competitive environments and is committed to driving innovation. Our teams are distributed between Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. We are creative, low-ego and team-spirited.
THE TEAM
Mistral is building a sovereign AI cloud for Europe. Our customers in finance, healthcare, and the public sector run frontier models on European-jurisdiction infrastructure, and the Cloud Platform team builds the systems that make that possible — compute orchestration, Kubernetes, bare metal, storage, networking, and the datacenter fleet that runs it all.
We run it all on our own metal, our own network, our own datacenters — which means when something breaks, the fix is ours to write.
European Compute Units let enterprises commit to multi-year capacity on that infrastructure, and we are scaling toward a gigawatt of compute across Europe by 2030. You will design and ship the layer every sovereign AI deployment depends on.
THE ROLE
You will build storage on our cloud.
Block, filesystem, and object storage for training runs, sandboxed workloads, and general compute: you help decide what we build, what we buy, and how it adds up to storage our customers can bet a business on. Some layers we deploy and harden from best-in-class vendors. The ones that matter most we write ourselves in Go — S3-compatible object storage, tiering, backup and recovery, caching layers that put cold data on cheap spinning disks.
Storage is a strategic bet for this org: the systems you build will define how a gigawatt of European compute stores its data.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build the storage stack — block, file, object — for training, sandbox, and general compute workloads.
- Design and write our own services in Go: S3-compatible APIs, tiering, backup and recovery, caching layers.
- Own the data plane: allocation, duplication, tiering, backup and recovery.
- Plan capacity across datacenters and across failure domains — petabytes, not terabytes.
- Partner with Product Managers to shape the storage roadmap and make the technical and business tradeoffs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You have built storage systems — object, block, or distributed filesystems — not just operated them. You know what happens when a disk dies mid-write and when a rebalance collides with a backup window.
- Deep distributed-systems fundamentals: durability, consistency, replication, erasure coding, failure domains.
- You have shipped production systems in Go. Systems engineers coming from C++ or Rust who are ready to write Go daily should still talk to us.
- You are comfortable with hardware reality: HDD, SSD, and NVMe tiers, and the economics of each.
- 5+ years building backend or infrastructure systems.
- You have partnered with product, design, and business teams to ship software that reached real users.
- A low-ego, team-first mindset. We care less about your exact domain and more about whether you are the kind of technical force other engineers want to work alongside.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and work-life balance. Benefits vary by country and may include healthcare coverage, parental leave, retirement plans, relocation support, wellness programs, meal and transportation allowances, and other location-specific perks.

📍 Manila, Philippines | Relocation required
Salmon is a technology-driven financial company building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines. In three years, we’ve grown to 7M+ app downloads, 2M+ monthly active users, 7,000+ partner stores, and US$310M+ raised from top-tier investors.
You get real ownership from day one, high standards, and direct communication. You’ll work alongside a team that combines deep local knowledge with experience scaling regulated financial companies from scratch.
About the role:
Salmon operates across the Philippines, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi (ADGM), and our tax position has to hold up in all three at once. You’ll own that.
You report to the Head of Group Tax and work independently across corporate income tax, withholding and indirect taxes, international taxation, structuring, and transfer pricing. Transfer pricing is a core part of the mandate, but not the whole job — you’re the Group’s go-to technical voice on tax, full stop.
This is a hands-on seat for someone who can take a complex tax question, work it through alone, and land on a position the business can act on. You’ll work directly with the Head of Group Tax on live, cross-border problems that shape how Salmon expands — not theoretical tax exercises — with real autonomy and a direct line to the decisions your work informs, across finance, product, and tech.
What you’ll do:
- Research and resolve complex tax questions independently, and translate them into clear positions finance, product, tech, and commercial teams can act on.
- Own tax compliance across corporate income tax, withholding, and indirect taxes — partnering with local teams and external advisors to hit deadlines and document positions properly.
- Evaluate tax implications of new-market expansion, holding structure and capital optimization, profit repatriation, and any future M&A.
- Advise on permanent establishment risk, withholding taxes, indirect tax exposure, and treaty applications, including RMC No. 5-2024 on services performed by non-residents.
- Coordinate with external consultants to build a global transfer pricing framework covering intercompany service agreements, IP/tech licensing, and financial transactions.
- Lead preparation of Local Files, Master Files, and Country-by-Country Reporting, and keep them audit-ready.
- Manage benchmarking studies run by external consultants and confirm they’re applied correctly and kept current.
- Partner with Tech and Product on the tax implications of new launches and geographic expansion.
- Lead technically during BIR or other tax authority audits, including transfer pricing, and build the defense file.
- Monitor intercompany transactions monthly and quarterly against transfer pricing policy, and confirm they’re properly invoiced and documented.
What you’ll own:
- The Group’s technical tax position across three jurisdictions — nothing routes around you on tax.
- Transfer pricing documentation and defense, end to end.
- Tax input on every new market, structure, or product decision that touches tax.
- The BIR audit relationship and defense when it comes.
What makes you a strong fit:
- 6–10 years of broad tax experience spanning corporate income tax, international tax, structuring, and transfer pricing, with a track record of owning complex matters end to end.
- Big 4 tax practice at Manager level, or in-house tax at a fintech, is the ideal path here.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Law; a professional certification is a strong plus.
- Deep working knowledge of OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and BEPS 2.0, plus BIR and IRAS regulations.
- Can turn dense tax concepts into a straight answer a non-tax stakeholder can act on.
- Comfortable owning ambiguous, competing priorities with minimal oversight.
- Thrives founder-led and high-pressure, and builds process from scratch rather than waiting for one to exist.
What we offer:
Ownership and flexibility
- Stock option plan — four-year vesting with a 25% cliff after the first year
- Hybrid-first work environment
- Company-provided tools and equipment
- Office in Bonifacio Global City, Manila — a modern, walkable district at the centre of the Philippines’ growing tech scene
Health and time off
- Medical insurance support for you and your family through co-funding or reimbursement, depending on your location and subject to policy limits
- Access to an internal mental health support specialist
- 22 vacation days, Philippine public holidays, and 15 sick days
- 105 days of paid maternity leave and up to 14 days of paid paternity leave for employees relocating to Manila
Relocation and family support
- Relocation support for you and your family — including flights, two weeks of accommodation, visas, paperwork, and logistics
- Reimbursement of eligible pet relocation expenses
- USD 2,500 per year for flights home
- Baby and family stipends for employees relocating to Manila: USD 1,000 per month for each child under two and USD 500 per month for each child aged two to 18
Growth and team experience
- Opportunities to learn and share your expertise through internal expert meetups, external conferences, speaking opportunities, and industry publications
- Company-sponsored trips to Manila to meet and work with your team in person
- Regular team offsites, sports activities, and team events
- High-performing teams can earn a dedicated beach house week in Southeast Asia

We’re looking for a Founding ML Engineer at Senior or Principal level to lead the transition of Newton, Aghanim’s AI product for partners, from proprietary model APIs to models we control.
Newton already runs in production on frontier models. You’ll own the model layer end to end: data collection, evaluation, post-training, serving, and rollout. The goal is to preserve the quality partners rely on while reducing cost, improving speed, and keeping partner data within our infrastructure.
You’ll work closely with the product to understand its behavior and partner expectations, then independently define the technical approach and priorities. Decisions about training, routing, and model replacement should be backed by production data and evaluations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build production data pipelines that capture versioned instructions, tool calls, outputs, costs, and outcomes, with anonymization, partner-level deletion, and expert corrections.
- Develop benchmarks, regression tests, and code-based and LLM-judge evaluators using real Newton runs to measure factual accuracy, tool use, answer quality, cost, and latency.
- Compare frontier and open-weight models, route tasks to suitable models, and identify where prompting, distillation, or post-training delivers the best results.
- Train and adapt models using distillation, SFT, LoRA/QLoRA, and DPO on accepted trajectories and expert feedback; use RL where simpler approaches fall short.
- Deploy models behind Newton’s existing interface, validate them through shadow runs, and manage rollout based on quality benchmarks and serving economics.
Tech stack: Python, TypeScript, SQL, self-hosted Langfuse, TRL / Unsloth / Axolotl or managed training platforms, vLLM, serverless GPUs, GCP / Modal; open-weight models including Qwen, Gemma, DeepSeek, and GLM.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on experience post-training LLMs and shipping them to production using SFT, LoRA/QLoRA, DPO, and distillation.
- Experience building evaluation systems from production data, including offline benchmarks, regression and behavior tests, and code-based and LLM-judge evaluators.
- Understanding of agentic systems, including tool calling, multi-step trajectories, structured outputs, and the impact of changing the underlying model.
- Practical experience serving models with vLLM or similar tools, quantization, and GPU deployment, including latency, cold-start, and cost tradeoffs.
- Strong production Python and SQL skills, with enough TypeScript proficiency to modify product code and instrumentation independently.
- Ability to understand product behavior and user expectations, translate them into measurable quality requirements, and decide when training is justified.
- Experience independently owning a technical area, setting priorities, and working across an unfamiliar codebase and its design documents.
- Regular use of AI coding agents, with a clear approach to verifying their output.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience migrating a production product from proprietary model APIs to self-hosted or open-weight models.
- Experience with RL for LLMs, particularly GRPO with automatic verifiers.
- Familiarity with Langfuse, Braintrust, or similar tracing and evaluation tools.
- Experience with GCP, including Vertex AI, Cloud Run GPU, and BigQuery.
- Interest in game monetization and analytics.

We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.
You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
This is a remote position. We are looking for candidates in the US and Canada.
What is Grafana Cloud?
Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, traces, and profiles with Grafana. It allows our customers to leverage the best open source observability software – including Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope – without the overhead of installing, maintaining and scaling their own observability stack.
The Databases team owns and operates the telemetry databases that are
Mimir for metrics
,
Loki for logs
,
Tempo for traces
, and
Pyroscope for profiles
. Our databases are offered as a hosted service in Grafana Cloud, and additionally as on-premise solutions with
Grafana Enterprise Metrics
,
Grafana Enterprise Logs
, and
Grafana Enterprise Traces
. They are multi-tenant distributed systems implemented in Go and operating at scale on Kubernetes across all major Cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
As a company we are remote-first and global, we embrace people of different experiences and backgrounds to build diverse teams where every person brings a new perspective to the software.
Mimir Squad
The Mimir squad has two sub-squads, Ingest and Query, which together maintain the
Mimir OSS project
, and additionally own and operate Grafana Cloud Metrics across three major cloud providers. Engineers on the team focus on optimizing the efficiency and resilience of processing, storing, and querying metrics at large volumes. These services operate at a large scale and performance is key to keeping the offering competitive and running smoothly.
A Mimir engineer has various work streams. They likely are engaged in a larger project with another engineer, as well as mixing in some performance and reliability improvements discovered through operating the system in production. They are also responsible for writing and reviewing PRs and design documents from other engineers in the squad, shepherding automated release rollouts, and participating in the on-call rotation for their systems.
What will you be doing?
Take a very active role in influencing our roadmap and your own career objectives
Work with your team to deliver new features, then use the results to iterate and improve.
Drive projects from initial idea all the way to operations once it is in the hands of customers
Embrace our open-source culture and contribute to other projects that may not directly fall within your team’s scope
Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning the reliability, performance, and availability
Be a part of your team’s follow-the-sun on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you’re running
Support other team members, participate in design discussions and collaborate with the team
Learn new skills by gaining a deeper understanding of our cloud product and our customers and getting to know the codebase of a large distributed system
As we are remote-first and our engineering organization is entirely remote, we provide guidance and meet regularly using video calls, so an independent attitude and good communication skills are a must.
What are we looking for in you?
You are a motivated self starter with a bias towards action. You are customer focused. We build everything with our users in mind. You have a passion for creating intuitive products that fit customers’ needs
Pragmatism: You are able to take on complex challenges and break them down to achieve short feedback loops: to analyze, design, and build modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather data and feedback and then progress iteratively
Collaboration and communication: The smallest unit we have is a Squad. You’ll be working with your teammates in a fully remote setup. Good communication skills are a must
Solid experience with at least one programming language. We use Go, but if you have familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust or similar then that translates well
Some experience with delivering projects from gathering requirements, brainstorming ideas all the way to shipping a product to the customer’s hands in a self-driven way
Some experience with developing software that runs in the Cloud
or
some experience with systems engineering
Some experience with being on-call and following the DevOps model
Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintained by others
Familiarity with observability systems, know when to use metrics, logs, traces, to debug a problem
Nice to haves:
Experience working with Kubernetes is highly desirable
Experience working with queue systems, e.g. the Kafka protocol
Been a user of Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles (including on-call for your team at a previous employer or just using these tools on hobby/homelab projects)
Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems, or a desire to learn
Familiarity with the concept of infrastructure as code
In the United States, the base compensation range for this role is USD
174,500
- USD 209,000
.
Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable) and other benefits listed
here

About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
Wolt is looking for an Ads & Promotions Specialist to join our growing team in Zagreb. In this role, you’ll drive ad revenue by selling advertising and promotional products to restaurants and stores across Croatia. You’ll partner with Account Development Managers and Account Managers to grow ad adoption among managed merchants, while owning the full sales cycle for unmanaged merchants yourself. This role suits someone who loves hitting targets, can win over a skeptical merchant, and doesn’t let a “no” slow them down.
You will:
Sell ads and promotions to managed and unmanaged merchants, owning a pipeline and working toward clear revenue targets.
Prioritise your time across high-value managed accounts and a broad base of unmanaged merchants, keeping track of every opportunity.
Pitch to merchants, handle objections, and turn hesitant or previously uninterested merchants into active advertisers.
Set up, monitor and optimise campaigns so merchants see a strong return, stay on ads longer and keep coming back.
Work closely with Account Development Managers and Account Managers to align campaigns with merchant goals and broader account strategies.
Support sales enablement by building and adapting pitch materials, reporting and best practices for the wider team.
Use AI tools day to day to prioritise prospects, personalise outreach and speed up reporting.
Our humble expectations
Fluency in Croatian and English, with the confidence to pitch, negotiate and close in both.
1–2 years of sales experience, ideally B2B and with quota-carrying targets.
A track record of hitting goals, including examples of pushing through when a target was hard to reach.
Strong communication and persuasion skills, with the ability to build trust with merchants and influence internal stakeholders.
Organised and able to prioritise effectively when juggling many accounts and competing deadlines.
Resilient and results-oriented, able to learn from lost deals and keep momentum.
Nice to have
An analytical mindset and comfort using campaign data to build a business case or spot upsell opportunities.
Understanding of digital advertising principles and best practices.
Experience in account management, marketing, operations or business analysis.
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel.
