About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role:
Anthropic's ML Performance and Scaling team trains our production pretrained models, work that directly shapes the company's future and our mission to build safe, beneficial AI systems. As a Research Engineer on this team, you'll ensure our frontier models train reliably, efficiently, and at scale. This is demanding, high-impact work that requires both deep technical expertise and a genuine passion for the craft of large-scale ML systems.
This role lives at the boundary between research and engineering. You'll work across our entire production training stack: performance optimization, hardware debugging, experimental design, and launch coordination. During launches, the team works in tight lockstep, responding to production issues that can't wait for tomorrow.
Responsibilities:
Own critical aspects of our production pretraining pipeline, including model operations, performance optimization, observability, and reliability
Debug and resolve complex issues across the full stack—from hardware errors and networking to training dynamics and evaluation infrastructure
Design and run experiments to improve training efficiency, reduce step time, increase uptime, and enhance model performance
Respond to on-call incidents during model launches, diagnosing problems quickly and coordinating solutions across teams
Build and maintain production logging, monitoring dashboards, and evaluation infrastructure
Add new capabilities to the training codebase, such as long context support or novel architectures
Collaborate closely with teammates across SF and London, as well as with Tokens, Architectures, and Systems teams
Contribute to the team's institutional knowledge by documenting systems, debugging approaches, and lessons learned
You May Be a Good Fit If You:
Have hands-on experience training large language models, or deep expertise with JAX, TPU, PyTorch, or large-scale distributed systems
Genuinely enjoy both research and engineering work—you'd describe your ideal split as roughly 50/50 rather than heavily weighted toward one or the other
Are excited about being on-call for production systems, working long days during launches, and solving hard problems under pressure
Thrive when working on whatever is most impactful, even if that changes day-to-day based on what the production model needs
Excel at debugging complex, ambiguous problems across multiple layers of the stack
Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively, especially when coordinating across time zones or during high-stress incidents
Are passionate about the work itself and want to refine your craft as a research engineer
Care about the societal impacts of AI and responsible scaling
Strong Candidates May Also Have:
Previous experience training LLM’s or working extensively with JAX/TPU, PyTorch, or other ML frameworks at scale
Contributed to open-source LLM frameworks (e.g., open_lm, llm-foundry, mesh-transformer-jax)
Published research on model training, scaling laws, or ML systems
Experience with production ML systems, observability tools, or evaluation infrastructure
Background as a systems engineer, quant, or in other roles requiring both technical depth and operational excellence
What Makes This Role Unique:
This is not a typical research engineering role. The work is highly operational—you'll be deeply involved in keeping our production models training smoothly, which means being responsive to incidents, flexible about priorities, and comfortable with uncertainty. During launches, the team often works extended hours and may need to respond to issues on evenings and weekends.
However, this operational intensity comes with extraordinary learning opportunities. You'll gain hands-on experience with some of the largest, most sophisticated training runs in the industry. You'll work alongside world-class researchers and engineers, and the institutional knowledge you build will compound in ways that can't be easily transferred. For people who thrive on this type of work, it's uniquely rewarding.
We're building a close-knit team of people who genuinely care about doing excellent work together. If you're someone who wants to be part of training the models that will define the future of AI—and you're excited about the full reality of what that entails—we'd love to hear from you.

We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.

We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.
THE ROLE:
We’re hiring an Enterprise Account Executive to accelerate Modal’s growth with the world’s most innovative AI companies. This is a high-impact role where you’ll own the full sales cycle—from building pipeline to closing large, strategic enterprise deals. You’ll partner directly with our founders, engineering, and product teams to help customers harness Modal’s infrastructure to train, deploy, and scale AI applications.
You’ll be expected to operate as a builder: developing new relationships, shaping our GTM motion, and serving as the voice of the customer inside Modal. The ideal candidate is both technically curious and commercially driven—equally comfortable in a room with C-level executives and with machine learning engineers. In this role, you will:
- Drive new business by generating pipeline, negotiating, and closing complex enterprise deals
- Build deep, trusted relationships with technical and executive stakeholders at leading AI companies
- Run proof-of-concepts and pilots in close collaboration with our solutions and engineering teams
- Expand existing accounts by identifying growth opportunities and helping customers scale their workloads
- Bring structured customer feedback to influence Modal’s product roadmap and GTM strategy
- Contribute to the foundation of Modal’s sales process, culture, and playbooks as we scale the team
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7–10+ years of enterprise software sales experience, ideally in infrastructure, ML/AI, or developer-focused platforms
- Track record of consistently exceeding $1M+ annual quotas and closing six- and seven-figure enterprise deals
- Strong technical acumen—able to communicate infrastructure and AI concepts with both engineers and executives
- Experience leading proof-of-concepts and managing complex procurement processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable in an early-stage, fast-moving environment; excited to help shape systems and processes from the ground up
- Ability to work in-person from our office 5 days a week

Cohere is the leading security-first enterprise AI company. We build cutting-edge foundation AI models and end-to-end products that are designed to solve real-world business problems.
We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that.
We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.
We are a global technology company headquartered in Toronto with key offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul. Join us!
Role overview:
Code-generating LLMs and autonomous agents are revolutionizing how software is built and tasks are automated. At Cohere, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with these technologies for enterprises, and we’re looking for a senior member for the Agent Code team. You’ll be at the forefront of research and engineering, driving the development of cutting-edge code LLMs and agent systems that can interact with the digital world to solve complex tasks with minimal human oversight.
This role is hands-on and research-driven. You’ll dive into the latest literature on code LLMs and agents, experiment with frontier models, and collaborate with a team of talented engineers and researchers to build scalable, production-ready solutions. At Cohere, we blend engineering and research seamlessly—everyone contributes to both, depending on their interests and organizational needs. We provide access to world-class compute resources, data, and talent to ensure you can do your best work.
Note: We have offices in London, Toronto, New York and San Francisco, but we’re also remote-friendly! This team operates primarily between ET to CET time zones, so we’re seeking candidates in locations that align with these hours for effective collaboration.
Key responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research in code LLMs, agents, and related fields, implementing novel ideas into our systems.
- Design and implement scalable strategies to train code models, and deploy agent frameworks for inference and sampling. You will be collaborating with the pretraining team, create SFT trajectories and work on existing and new RL algorithms
- Hillclimb on existing benchmarks and design new ones that reflect the needs of our enterprise users
- Lead experiments on our state-of-the-art compute infrastructure, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with frontier LLMs.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with publications in top-tier venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP).
- Deep expertise in code LLMs and agent systems, with a strong understanding of the latest research and trends. We are looking for people who not only have worked with code models, but have actively contributed to their development
- Hands-on experience with frontier LLMs and their applications in code generation or automation.
- Strong software engineering skills, with proficiency in Python and PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and scalable architectures.
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset, with a passion for solving ambitious, open-ended problems.
Working Location:
This role can be based remotely or from one of our office locations listed on the job description - there is no minimum in-office qualification requirement. We care most about hiring exceptional people regardless of locations, though please check the location listed on the posting for guidance around the core time zone or working hours alignment expected for the role.

- A weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent in your local currency for lunch.
- Full health and dental benefits, including a separate budget for mental health.
- RRSP matching, 401K, Pension Scheme.
- 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months, for either parent.

Arts & culture, fitness/wellness, quality time, and a workspace improvement credit.

- For those in the office: a daily lunch program, plenty of snacks, and regular community and social events.

- Everyone receives a $500 home office stipend to set up your workspace properly.

Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
- Distill the latest advancements in AI technology and educate developers on how to incorporate them
- Give demos and talks about Modal and adjacent tools at developer events
- Engage with users in our community, both online (X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Slack) and at in-person events
- Build relationships, integrations, and joint marketing activities with other developer-focused companies

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. - Drive the Agent Development Life Cycle https://sierra.ai/blog/agent-development-life-cycle (ADLC): You'll have complete ownership and autonomy from initial pilot through deployment and continuous iteration. You'll be responsible for building, tuning, and evolving AI agents in production environments, defining the standard for ADLC best practices along the way.
- Partner with large enterprises and cutting-edge startups: You’ll work directly with leaders at some of the world’s largest enterprises to understand their most pressing business challenges, and build AI agents that transform how they operate at scale. You'll also partner with the most cutting-edge startups in London, embedding AI agents across their entire business stack to drive innovation and efficiency.
